Student Having Problems
I'm taking Database Systems at CSCC. Trying to use my computer at home rather than the lab at school.
I have the CD-ROMs for Oracle 8i Personal Edition for Windows 98 and Oracle Forms and reports Release 6i for Microsft Windows NT. I installed the CDs. I cannot signon!
I tried SQL*PLUS to sign-on, just like I did at school. However, I cannot use sys, system, nor scott. I tried it with blank host string and I tried to put different things in the host strings, i.e. ora8i. Nothing works!
I tried the Navigator. I tried so many different things. But, there are no instructions on how to get started.
It's truly frustrating because three years ago, I could use Oracle at home. I haven't used it since then. And, I lost everything on my hard drive when I took my computer in for service.
I can't remember what I did to make it work. I can't find anything that gives me instructions that I can understand? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
This is so depressing. I've spent two days on this. Please tell me what I need to do so that I can complete my homework.
I'm installing only servers and clients, never some personnals. But in general, at the installation menu of Oracle you can choose to install just the software or to install the software and to create a new blank database.
You can always create a database after. But to connect with these passwords, you need a database. If you are sure that you have a Db, it must be sarted. And ,but I am not sure you need this for personnal edition, a listener-Tnsname must be configured. Perhaps you receive a error message,there are often interesting to help you.

I have a field of a dictionary structure. From now on, I will call this field 'Field A'.
In the book that I read, it is said that if Field A refers to a check table, then the contents of the check table are automatically offered as the Field A's input help. Furthermore, if the check table has a search help, then the search help is used as Field A's input help instead of the key fields of the check table. The search help is also used as input help for any field that refers to the check table I mentioned previously.
Are the last 2 sentences true?
Curiously, I created a dictionary structure of several fields. One of the fields refers to a check table. I also created a simple screen with fields that refer to the dictionary structure I mentioned earlier to test each field's input help. When I tried the field that refers to the check table, it is true that the contents of the check table are offered as the possible values. Later, I created a search help for the check table in a way that makes me easily notice that the search help is actually used as the input help, not the standard input help of check table contents. When I tested my screen again and tested the input help of the field that refers to the check table, the shown possible values were not changed. It still used the standard input help that shows the contents of the check table instead of my search help.
Could I do something wrong or is the statements in my book incorrect?

Thank you for the help. However, there are still some doubts in me. To improve tha clarity of my question, I'll rewrite it:
Let 'CT' is the name of my check table.
Currently there are many dictionary objects that refers to CT as their check table. Therefore, the contents of CT are offered as possible values / input help of those dictionary objects.
Later, I created a search help.
Let 'SH' is the name of my search help. SH is attached to the check table CT.
Now, does this means SH is automatically used as the input help of all the dictionary objects that refer to CT as their check table,
Or
I still have to attach SH to all the dictionary objects that refer to CT in order to use SH as their input help?

I'm having problems creating a simple program for an introduction to programming class.
I'm not exactly sure where this question should go so please excuse me if this is in the wrong place. At this point in the class we are learning about if/else statements. The text provided was written by a collaboration of the teachers. In the course material
for the if/else part they show us examples using numbers. Then the course also shows us a video to help us better understand (it doesn't. I'm not the only student having problems on the online course.) by giving us an example using bool to show if a statement
is true. Now our actual assignment is what is confusing me and other students. The assignment is to create a program that asks a question such as "Is this class hard?" and it should have three different responses depending on what you type in. If
you type "yes" it would respond "Oh no! I'm sorry you're having problems!" if you type "no" it would respond "Glad to hear!" if you type something random it would say "I'm sorry. I didn't understand. Please respond
with either "yes" or "no"." I'm not exactly sure how we were supposed to know how to do that from the course material provided and it's stressing me and other students out. Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.Make sure your folder having administration rights.
some folders property is read only... so check by right clicking on the folder and the properties.

I'm having problems on the Lightroom CC App,as it seem's that when I open the Develop heading at the top of the screen,there is message that comes,which says this section is disabled and I need to renew my membership.My membership is up to date regarding payments etc.I use the student/ teacher version of the CC as I'm a student.Can anybody please advise what the problems seem's to be and what can i do to access the develop and other facilities on Lightroom?

Ps Is this a common problem on the Student/teaching version of CC?This is an indication that Lightroom is not connected to your subscription. Verify that your are logged into the Creative Cloud desktop app, or try logging out and back in again to refresh your subscription information: Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app.
Also, verify that your student subscription is still current and active. -

Having problems uninstalling and running Photoshop CS3
I downloaded the trial for Adobe Photoshop CS3 and it has now expired. I tried to uninstall it but it does nothing. It will not come off my computer. If I try to open it, it tells me
The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support. I tried redownloading and reinstalling it but it still does the same thing and customer support after waiting on hold for 10 minutes for someone to answer, just sent me here.
How do I get rid of this program???

It tells me my settings have changed and I need to reactivate but it won't let me reactivate apparently I guess it's been activated too many times (the first computer I had it on crashed and so I had to reinstall it on this computer I am using now) So now because of whatever is wrong with this CS3 I can never again use my CS2. In reference to Lynley Stanley, I too am having the exact problem. I downloaded as for my class of Animation and Visual Effects at the Academy of Art University while waiting for my software to come in the mail from Academic Superstore. I am so frustrated about this that such an issue has caused so much madness. In the process of trying to remove Adobe Photoshop CS3 from my Windows Vista I was searching for info on how to uninstall as I was in a hurry to uninstall the program because my 4th week into class started using the program as students are expected to follow along having their own for assignments. Well, now I'm behind and I don't want to fail because of something that is causing the problem as I'd like to call intentional. In the process of trying to figure a way to uninstall fast as not to fall behind and fail in class I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller but I don't know how it will work. Now in reference of trying to quickly uninstall just to keep up with class, that will not be possible, so now I had to take time to look online knowing I'm falling more and more behind because of this difficult matter I finally found this and hopefully I'll be going somewhere as to have the problem corrected. Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is. -
Is anyone having problems with the battery heating up and draining the power? Mine has been doing this for about 2 months now.
This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago. Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again. You might want to clear your cache before reloading. Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try. Good Luck

Check that there isn't a different Trash folder to the one with the proper Trash symbol on it.
If you see one in your list of folders rather than a separate one, highlight it, then click on Mailbox...Use this mailbox for...Trash -
I recently had to swap out my iphone 4s and I am having problems restoring photos and videos from icloud. When I restored my phone from icloud, half of my pics and videos have been deleted, the pics that were restored on my phone are very blurry, and the videos won't play. I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server". I have erased and reset my phone twice, but every time I do it, more pics and videos are deleted. I have backed up to icloud and iphoto, however, some of the pics are no longer on iphoto either. Is there someway to get the videos to play on my phone again? Make the photos not as blurry as they are now and to restore the pics and videos that have been lost? I really would love to have them back, this phone is supposed to be the best and right now it doesn't seem to be. Please help if you can.
I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!

Hi Guys - for a few days I have been having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and downloading then eventually says unable to download app. Sometimes after many attempts it wil eventually work. I tested it on an old iPhone 3G and got the same problem so it is not an iOS 5 issue. My WI-FI connection is working fine. I was wondering if this is an App Store problem? Anyone else in the UK having this problem?

I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb. This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well. This might be the common thread.

HT1657 I am having problems with sound in my rental movies
We rent movies all the time but lately we are having problems with sound for our movie rentals. We watch the first half hour without a problem than the voice is choppy all the time. Sometimes it is good for five minutes than noting for a while. We have tried everything we could think of with no avail. I could see one movie but the last 5 or so have been the same. Done trying we need to fix this! Help! Any ideas?
First try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
If you still have the same issue, it's possible that something is lodged in the earphone jack. This can cause the iPad to think earphones are plugged in when they are not. Use a vacuum to try to suck any dust, lint or other foreign matter from the jack. If that still doesn't work, try CAREULLY using a toothpick.

Can't open properties window of DAQ assistant express VI.
I have a program which uses DAQ assistant express VI's, reading several channels from a NI PCI-6220 card. Its been working fine for months but now some of the channels have started acting up, noise and oscillations that are not real. I've solved this
