• Need information on student lifecycle management

Hi,
Our company is officially SAP customer. We are planning to implement student life cycle management for nearly 12000 students.Could you please provide me , how much it cost for the yearly license and also the system requirements.
Thanks,
Srikanth.

Hello Srikanth, I don't see we can help you out with these questions. Licencing is a matter you must discuss/negotiate with your SAP account representative, he'll answer your question accurately.
Regarding system requirements (called Sizing), you have to analyze that with your potential hardware venders. SAP will direct you to them, and they'll guide you through a Sizing Questionaire, which you'll return to them, and based on that info, they'll tell you your system requirements.
Here you have some links (found them searching "sap sizing questionaire"):
IBM: http://www-03.ibm.com/support/techdocs/atsmastr.nsf/PubAllNum/PRS261
HP: http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/42968-0-0-225-121.html
You shall have to ask the vendors for the latest questionnaires, if you find any published, they're usually not up to date.
The questionnaires usually don't take into account modules as SLcM, so you'll need some extra support either from SAP or your consulting company or the HW vender.
Regards
Michael

• Lifecycle Manager SP2

In my Business Objects XI 3.1 SP 2.2 environment I installed Lifecycle Manager SP1, followed by upgrading it to SP2. After installing SP2 the Administrative options menu disappears from teh web interface, it will not allow me to create new jobs and the dropdown that takes you to version control, doesn't have that option.
From the CMC in my folder structure there is a folder called LCM and another called LCM_old, the LCM_old seems to be the one LCM is using.
In the LCM.log file every time I log in I find this error message.
[ERROR] [com.businessobjects.lcm.utilities.LCMLogger] Error in getting Audit Handler. Please refer to the stack trace.
Can anyone help me, is there any more information you need?
Thanks,
Bader

• What/Where is the Value Lifecycle Manager (VLM)

What/Where is the Value Lifecycle Manager (VLM)
I was just reviewing an ASUG presentation from Soledad Alvarado Ganzhorn of SAP NetWeaver Product Management at SAP Labs. It describes a value lifecycle manager tool that includes:
Value Discovery content includes: Interview Questions, Pain Points, Best Practices, Solution Enablers, Value Drivers & KPI's, and Data Requests
A Knowledge Management Platform – Retrieve and Enter content
A Highly Flexible and Customizable Business Case Building and Reporting Platform
Used by Value Engineers, Solution Engineers, ISG, Partners and others
Is anyone aware if SAP is using this tool already? Will customers get access to it? This sounds like a replacement for the business case builder which I haven't seen either. It would be nice if customers had access to these sorts of discovery tools. Since we don't utilize SAP consulting, we are often not able to access this content as we initiate new initiatives. It would be nice to have access as it seems like we are internally selling their software for them.

The tool is available. It is at the following URL:
https://sapvalueengineering.com/VLM2/client.page
SAP has nominated select Partners that have access to the tool. You can probably check with the SAP partner relationship manager in your organization to see if you have access to this tool.

• LifeCycle Manager: The kind 'Note' does not exist in the CMS

Hi there,
I'm trying to promote a Crystal Report from one relatively fresh XI 3.1 environment to another fresh XI 3.1 environment (TEST to PROD) using LifeCycle Manager, and for this report, which has no dependencies, I get the following error when I do a Test Promote or actual Promote:
Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed, Promotion Status=Failure : com.businessobjects.lcm.utilities.LCMException: com.businessobjects.sdk.biar.exception.XSDException$UnknownKindException: The kind 'Note' does not exist in the CMS. (FWM 04030)
Has anyone encountered anything similar to this? I can't find any InfoObject that logically relates to the type/kind 'Note'. Perhaps it has to do with discussions?
Thanks,
Allan

Hi,
Can you try promoting it with the security option enabled.
Based on the error condition it seems that the discussion plugin does not exist in the destination system.

• Configuration of Software Lifecycle Manager with MOPZ

We want to use MOPZ and additionally the Software Lifecycle Manager functionality which is available as of SP15 of SSM. Where can i find documentation about this functionality? We have the problem if i call transaction /TMWFLOW/MOPZCA that the Web Services for SLM are not available. Which Web Services? I have created a http connection to the SLM server (Java stack) like the description in the help of IMG.
How can i connect a software repository to MOPZ/SLM ?

Backup your files to a external hard drive and disconnect.
Call Apple and make a warranty call, then take it to the nearest Apple Store etc.
You can run these things and it might clear your issue or give further informaiton
Perform a hardware check

Then see if resetting the SMC/PRAM resolve your issue

• SSL Certificate for Software LifeCycle Management

Dear Friends,
We have Solution Manger 70 with EhancementPack 1 (Java 7.01 SP4). Trying to configure the Software LifeCycle Management and I am stuck at the first stage i.e. generating SSL SSL Certificate.
Here is what I have done and please let me know on how to proceed...
- Installed SAP Cryptographic libraries, all the necessary Profile parameters and activated HTTPS...
- STRUSTSSO2 --> Created SSL Server PSE
- Generated the Certificate Requests for the SSL Server PSE
- Copied the Certificate Request.
- Opened the https://service.sap.com/tcs site
- Requested for SSL Test Server Certificate by pasting the Copied the Certificate Request and generated the certificate response in a "PKCS # 7 Certificate Chain" format.
- Copied the Generated Imported Certficate from SAP Trust center Site, and Imported the Certificate response for SSL Server using STRUSTSSO2.
What else I am missing here?????????
How to generate the Import Certifcate in a crt file format for SSL client (Anonymous or Standard) PSE's?????????
Kindly help me with these issue ASAP.
Thank you,
Nikee

Users are prompted to accept the certificate from the WLC because the clients do not have a trusted root certificate for the certificate that is installed on the WLC. The SSL certificate on the WLC is not in the list of certificates that the client system trusts. There are two ways to stop the generation of this web-browser security alert popup window:
a) Use the self-signed SSL certificate on the WLC and configure the client stations to accept the certificate
b) Generate a CSR and install a certificate that is signed by a source (a third-party CA) for which the clients already have the trusted root certificates installed.
