Submit button in Webdynpro tab

hi,
I am new to Adobe forms, i am using WDJ.
Does the submit button in the "web dynpro tab" call the onSubmit action mentioned in the interactive form UI element?
do we have to write any script to perform the above requirment.?
Also the button name in the web dynpro tab is not "Submit to SAP" its only "Submit" is that an issue?

HI
It is true that Submit button on Native WebDynpro tab is the same button which can invoke the onSubmit action mentioned in the interactive form UI element.
You only have to write a method under the action of OnSubmit button mentioned in the interactive form UI element.
SubmitToSAP is the same button as onSubmit button only name is changed in latest versions.

  • I need to throw an error message if the terms&conditions checkbox is not checked on click of Submit Button. Can anyone suggest.

    I need to throw an error message if the terms&conditions checkbox is not checked on click of Submit Button in webdynpro java. Can anyone suggest.

    My Apologies. The simplest way- write the following code in the action of the Submit button-
    if (<check box not checked>)
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException("Please accept Terms and Conditions to continue",false);
    else
         continueExecution();
    The exception message will be shown on top of the view.
    You may like to use Message Area UI element and place it at the bottom of the WD4J view to show our exception message at the bottom of the view.
    I hope this helps !

  • Submit button from Adobe form doesn't trigger action???

    Hi all,
    the submit button within Adobe form doesn't trigger any action that i wrote. it happens to my machine, but it doesn't happen on some of my colleague's machines.
    i am using Adobe reader 8, when the first time i use IE to display the app, it prompts me to install some kind of activeX plug in, and after it installed, it told me that some setting is not correct, and it mentioned about adobe reader 6 or 7.
    will downgrade to 6 or 7 solve this problem? is there any other walkaround for it?
    thank you!

    If you are on Netweaver 2004s SP9 or higher, you could change the displayType property of InteractiveForm UI element to "Web Dynpro Native" and use the submit button from "Native" tab.
    If you are any other lower version, you dont have a choice but to use "activeX" which requires Active Component Framework (ACF) to communicate with server. You need to use button from "Web Dynpro ActiveX" tab. You need to install the right version of ACF (SAP Note 766191). Better if you use Adobe Reader 8.1.2.
    Thanks

  • Submit button in Web Dynpro Native and ActiveX tab

    We use LiveCycle Designer 7.1 in a SAP environment (CRM5.0/NW2004S 7.0.06). We are creating an online Interactive Form via Web Dynpro for Java using NW2004S.
    In NW2004 you have to possibility to select the 'Submit to SAP' button from the Web Dynpro tab. However, in NW2004S this has been changed into 2 submit buttons, one on Web Dynpro Native and one on Web Dynpro ActiveX tab. Does somebody know what the differences are compared to NW2004? When to choose what button and what kind of code you need to enter to send the data the SAP?
    kind regards
    Angelique Heutinck

    Sarang,
    Lets go step-by-step.
    1. Create two views in your applications lets say the names are View1 and View2.
    2. Goto Diagram View of the Window in under Windows node in your Web Dynpro Explorer in NWDS.
    3. Create Inbound and Outbound plugs for View1 namely inbView1 and outView1
    4. Repeat the same for View2. So names will be inbView2 and outView2.
    5. Create a navigational link between the Vies by creating a link from outView1 plug to inView2 plug.
    6. Goto Layout tab for the View1. This is where you have embedded the Interactive form element.
    7. Set the displayType property to native.
    8. Under Events there will be onSubmit method, craete a new method called navigateToView2 and click Go. This will take you where you can implement your logic.
    9. Fire the outbound plug of View1. See following code snippet:-
    public void onActiong navigateToView2(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActiongotoView2(ServerEvent)
        wdThis.wdFirePlugOutView1();
        //@@end
    10. Edit the Interactive form, it should open Adove LiveCycle Designer.
    11. Drag-drop Submit button from WD Native library ontot the form.
    11. Don't modify anything and check if you see below code snippet in the Editor.
    // DO NOT MODIFY THE CODE BEYOND THIS POINT - 705.20051114114126.253659.250577 - SubmitToSAP.xfo
                          ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
                          // END OF DO NOT MODIFY
    12. Now whenever you click submit button on the form, what it does is that it makes call to WD framework and the onSubmit action handler is called where you have written the code to navigate to View2.

  • Submit Button Adobe Interactive forms in webdynpro application

    Hi All,
    I have a webdynpro requirement which contains only ineractive Fom ( Adobe From).
    In adobe Form i have inserted webdynpro activeex Submit Button.
    When i run my webdynpro application.I am not able click on the submit button and it is not triggering the backend logic.
    Can anybody please let me know how can i solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Taragini

    Hi Tarangini,
    As how suggested by Thomas ensure that the button type which you are using within your Adobe form matches the "displayType" property that you have specified for the InteractiveForm UI element within your Web Dynpro component. Also specify an event name to be triggered when the user clicks on the Adobe form button. This can be done by specifying a value for onSubmit property of the InteractiveForm. Also ensure that your Adobe form is enabled by having the "enabled" checkbox property of the InteractiveForm checked.

  • WebDynpro SUBMIT button instead of Adobe SUBMIT button

    Hi Exprts,
    I am using the WebDynpro SUBMIT button after many unsuccessful attempts of using the Adobe SUBMIT button.
    The WebDynpro button is easier to implement and use. Pease let me know if there are any negative points in taking this approach.
    Any kinds of tips are appreciaed.
    Thanks,
    Shobhit

    hi,
    there are two buttons available for facilitating integration with Web Dynpro.
    the Buttons:-
    1). Submit to SAP
    2). Check Fields
    are there.
    if you go to interactive forms->properties->events
    you will see that there are two events...
    *onSubmit
    *onCheck
    these events correspond to the two above mentioned buttons.
    you can write the code for actions in web dynpro implementation.
    these two buttons provide good integration with Dynpro.
    There is no bad effect of using these two buttons as such.
    But the advantage surely is that you have access to these buttons in web dynpro.
    and can write the code for them in their respective actions.
    and further you can change the functionality of these buttons and modify the text on these buttons too. like "submit to SAP" can be changed to "MyText".
    the behavior of the button will depend on what code you write in its action.

  • Tabbing to "Prev", "Next" and "Submit" buttons in FormsCentral template

    I try to use my mouse as little as possible when entering data in forms.  How does one tab to "Prev", "Next" and "Submit" buttons in FormsCentral template so that all one has to do is press "enter" on the keyboard or spacebar?

    Thanks Roman for your response.  Press Tab or Shift-Tab works fine on my Windows computers but does not appear to work on my IPad.  Maybe it’s an Apple thing.  BTW – loving what I’m seeing so far in FormsCentral.

  • Form submit button to auto open a tabpanel tab?

    Hi everyone. I've been trying to get a form submit button to keep a tabpanel opened. I have three panels one for the user to update their profile. Another show their current shopping cart, and the third to search past orders. It is this third panel that I'm having problems with. Whenever I click submit, the page refreshes with the default panel 0 open. I have to click on the third tab to see the results of my search. I've added the following code to the input field:
           <input type="submit" name="search"  value="Search"  href="?tab=2&panel=2"/>
    I've also tried:
    <a>
          <input type="submit" name="search"  value="Search"  href="#" onClick="TabbedPanels1.showPanel(2); return false;"/>    </a>
    And I've also tried:
    <a href="#" onClick="TabbedPanels1.showPanel(2); return false;">
          <input type="submit" name="search"  value="Search" />    </a>
    No such luck.
    How do I get to keep this panel open during a search?
    Thanks

  • Adobe form with Webdynpro - Form is hanging on click of Submit button

    Hello Experts,
    My View has an adobe form that has many dropdowns and input fields. There are some fields which get automatically populated based on entries made by the users. There are several internal tables getting populated in the WDDOINIT method. I have a 'Submit Button' which when clicked should close the browser, retrieve data in the Context and do processing in SAP.
    When I click on the submit button, I get a 'Wait' symbol (the circle symbol) for a very long time and then the Connection time out error comes up.
    I commented the population of some internal tables in the 'Init' method. when I tested by clicking this button, it worked. The browser got closed and processing in SAP was done too.
    I am working with a fairly large data. 2-3 of the internal tables (that I commented) have 2000-3000 records. Is there is restriction on how much data the WDN can handle? I am stuck now because even though all codes are correct, the wdn is not able to handle the data.
    Any suggestions ?
    appreciate all your help! Regards, Liz

    This issue is resolved. This was due to loading a large data set to the form.

  • Submit Button In Web Dynpro Layout not working.

    Hi All,
             I have integrated an adobe form in my web dynpro application.According to my requirement the view of screen should change when the user clicks on submit button.So I have given the submit button as one of the UI element in my WD object along with the form.But when I click on the submit button the functionality doesnot work.
    The same submit button works when there is no adobe form integrated in my WD application.
    Please let me know what needs tyo be done so make that submit button work.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sarang

    Sarang,
    Lets go step-by-step.
        //@@begin onActiongotoView2(ServerEvent)
        wdThis.wdFirePlugOutView1();
        //@@end
                          ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
                          // END OF DO NOT MODIFY
    12. Now whenever you click submit button on the form, what it does is that it makes call to WD framework and the onSubmit action handler is called where you have written the code to navigate to View2.

  • Submit Button doesn't response in Interactive Form

    Hi Guys,
        I'm trying to implement a simple interactive form which is embeded in a abap webdynpro program.
        I've set the interactive form properties as following:
        displayType: native
        enabled: X
        onSubmit: CLICK
        and there has been a action "CLICK" with event handler and corresponding method implemented.
        For the interactive form i have drag and drop a submit button for webdynproAciveX group, and doens't change anything for this button. I check the "*click" of this button and it is run at Client.
        When I run this webdynpro program, the button is there, if i move my mouse onto this button, the mouse will change to hand shape. But if i click this button, it doesn't look like it has been really pushed down and up, I also tried the external debug of the OnClick method, I cannot get into the debug either.
        Do you have any idea what might be the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mao

    Hi,
    When you are in the transaction SFP , then in the SAP tool bar you'll find the "Utilities" Menu bar, there you will be able to find the "Insert WebDynpro Script", when you click on this you'll in the Form in Heirarchy Pallete under the Variables you can see a script Object named "ContainerFoundation_JS" is being inserted. And Other Important thing is in the Properties tab of the SFP Transaction there select the Layout type as "ZCI Layout".
    And when you insert the Submit button from the Library Pallete under "WebDynpro Native", then you'll find the below code in the Script Editor
    // DO NOT MODIFY THE CODE BEYOND THIS POINT - 800.20070410093956.383622.376748 - SubmitToSAP.xfo
           ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
    // END OF DO NOT MODIFY

  • URL for configuration in HTTP SUBMIT button --urgent

    Hi All,
       I am in development of a urgent interactive form and I am new this. My aim is to build a interactive form ( SFP) and then place a HTTP Submit button and post the data back .
    I went through the documentation and understood that W can send data in XML format back and in the server end we need to write the program to read it .. Writing progaram is ok for me . but I need to know What is the URL I in the HTTP button ( is it IP of the server ) or some other details .. how will this trigger my custom code ...
    Regards
    Abhilash

    Hi Abhilash,
    URL is url of your page, for example http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.htm. You can read more in Adobe LiveCycle Designer Help. Nevertheless the control Button from group Standard is better. Set property Control Type in tab Field to Submit and then fill new tab Submit.
    If you use WebDynpro for online scenario you needn't this buttons. In such case use a button Submit from the group Web Dynpro ActiveX (if you use xACF layout) or a button Submit from the group Web Dynpro Native (if you use ZCI layout).
