Suggestion for Macbook, can be done in all notebooks

What about giving Two sim card slots in Macbook or notebook, so those people who needs to carry big amount of data they can use it as phone as well as notebook. Just SIM card slot and one top touch screen like ipad, so they can use it like i pad and if would like to work longer can open it like laptop and work easily.
I think this will make easier for all mac and notebook users to carry only one small notebook, as of now its like they need to carry notebook or ipad or iphone together.
What do you guys think?

Apple doesn't respond to requests received at the feedback link.
Adding a SIM card is a small part of the request.
They would also have to add a cellular radio and a cellular antenna and interface it to the cpu.
That would require a new logic board design.
The chances of that happening on an existing product are, IMHO, zero.

I am not able to type anything in the address bar or click on any menu options with the browswer. The whole browser is just stuck, I cant do anything in it. It loads up fine but nothing can be done at all within the broswer.

( I search for iChat questions when I have finished in the iChat Forum)
So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

Suggestion for Macbook Pro

The DVD slot on MacBook Pro's should be relocated to the left side, as most users are right handed. When disks are automatically ejected, they sometimes hit the users right wrist and can cause a re-insertion. Just a suggestion for design improvement.

It could be a problem if people are using the outdated method of dragging discs to the Trash, which puts your wrist down by the slot. But there is not a problem if you use the much faster method of pressing the Eject key or Command-E. Even clicking the little eject icon in the Finder sidebar has less of a chance of putting your wrist there, because a problem with dragging to the Trash is that you are guaranteed to be pulling your wrist down to the lower right corner by the drive slot.
Another possible cause of the problem is that people may be using un-ergonomic laptop technique, letting their wrists fall to the keyboard. You are supposed to hold your hands above the keyboard so that you don't have a bend at your wrist, which can cause carpal tunnel. Since my hands are above the keyboard, there is no chance that an ejecting disk will hit them. I think that's why no ejecting disk has ever hit my wrist.

How shadow accounting for IFRS can be done

When cost of implementation of IFRS are huge and requires new G/L, Is it possible to have a shadow accounting practise.
Lets say we create a financial statement version based on IFRS accounting structure.
1. how the apc posting to be made for IFRS depreciation ares.
2. how the depreciation will be posted in this case if the IFRS depreciation area is made as real.

Hi Keith --- First a couple of points for you. I would not necessarily assume the cost of IFRS adoption will be "huge" as the cost and complexity of the project will be dependant on your own existing landscape and the industry and country where you will be adopting IFRS. Really the best way to scope the complexity and cost of the IFRS adoption project is to work closely with your audit/consulting partner and SAP to really determine what the best course of action should be. Basically, the sooner you engage the better as it will save time and money.
Regarding you second point regarding the SAP General Ledger (NewGL). Although it is the recommend solution it is not a requirement. There are other solutions available that utilize a single ledger approach. For example the use of the "Account Based" configuration approach for the GL and utilizing the reporting capabilities found within SAP BusinessObjects may be the best approach for your situation. As far a reporting from a "Shadow Accounting Practice" the SAP General Ledger does offer the ability to set up multiple ledgers which can be used for reporting on different accounting standards. For example set the Leading Ledger to report on IFRS and another non-leading ledger to report on Local GAAP. If it turns out that the adoption of the SAP General Ledger is not the best course of action at present then you could use the tools found within SAP BusinessObjects to report on the various legal options.
As far as IFRS reporting from the Depreciation Areas goes, this would require the set up of multiple deprecation areas tied to separate ledger or specific account groups within your Chart of Accounts. Again for more specific information regarding this questions I would suggest contacting your audit/consulting partner or SAP Field Services for further guidance

Does UITableView have a callback for when it is done loading ALL cells?

I find it very diffcult to change UIActivityIndicator on and off for data loading into a table. I set it on and then call "reload data" on my tableView and then turn it back off. I dont think that is correct, because reload data will return immediately, it doesnt block until al the data is loaded correct? So a better way it to check for a callback when all the cells are loaded?

The table isn't going to load all cells anyway.
Say you have a 100-item table of which 6 cells are visible at a time. The table view will only use tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: to create 6 or 7 cells.
Later on, if the user scrolls, the table view will call tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: some more, for the newly visible cells.
If the table view held on to every cell once it had been loaded, more and more cells would gradually get allocated until all 100 cells were in existence and holding data. That would use up a lot of memory. (What if the table has 10,000 cells?)
If the table view did the standard thing of calling \[release\] on a cell as soon as it didn't need it, memory wouldn't get used up but a lot of time would be wasted allocating and deallocating.
So the table view has a list of "cells I have but don't really want". When they encourage you to call dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: in your tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: routine, they're effectively saying "when the table is asking you for a cell for a given table entry, ask the table if it's got any unwanted cells to give you, before you go off and allocate a new one".
As far as your question is concerned, this means that the table never really finishes loading. It'll only load 6 or 7 cells at a time, and when the user scrolls, it'll load some more. Depending how you've written tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:, it may only ever have 6 or 7 cells in memory at a time.
It all depends what you want. If you want your activity indicator to say "I am working on giving you a display but what you see on the screen isn't what you're ultimately going to get", then
(1) Get each individual cell to start its filling-itself-with-visible-data process when you allocate/reuse the cell in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:. Give the cell a unique visible appearance when you do this. When the load process is complete, get the cell to call setNeedsDisplay so that it can get repainted with the real data. The user's experience will be of a table that appears instantly, each cell with an activity indicator in it, and the activity indicators then disappear as soon as each cell finishes its work. It will look rather nice.
Or (2) do much the same, but get each cell to increment a global "loads in process" counter when it is born/reborn, and decrement it when its data have arrived. Then use that global counter to control a single UIActivityIndicator.
The key in both cases is for cell creation to be fast, and the actual loading of data to the cells (if it's slow) to be done separately.

How to do this in Motion 3 (or if it can be done at all)?...

Try as I might, I have not been able to figure out how to do this in Motion.
I have a 10-page pdf document. I've imported these pages separately into Motion. I want them to be spaced out and 'standing up' in Z-space.
I want a camera to move around, highlighting 3 different areas - one on each of three separate pages, as per this image I've made up.
(The whole purpose of this 10-20 second clip is just to give an impression of the content - and the 'highlights' - of the 10-page pdf document. I'm therefore not fussy about whether the text will look a bit fuzzy, etc, when the camera zooms in.)
What I want, in particular, is for the camera to begin in front of the pages (i.e. in front of page 1), wait for a few seconds, then move/sweep around the first couple of pages and zoom into the first red area (on page 3). I want it to wait there for a few seconds and then sweep around (or through) pages 4 and 5 and come to the next red area (on page 6), wait there a few seconds, and finally, zoom/dolly through again to the final red area on page 10 where it again waits for a few seconds. At the end, I want the camera to come back to where it was at the beginning, looking at the first of the 10 pages.
The spacing (in Z-space) does not have to be uniform. There could be a bigger gap in front of pages 3, 6 and 10. That's no problem.
If anyone can give me some pointers on how to go about doing this - or whether I'm barking up the wrong tree trying this at all in Motion - I would be very grateful. I have googled, scoured the Motion manual, etc, etc, but cannot figure out how to do it. Though I have quite a bit of experience of using FCP, I'm new to Motion. (What a program, btw!...)

If you switch to the Top or Perspective views, you will be able to see the camera's animation path and edit (and add points to) it.
The animation method I'd most recommend is to use the Motion Path behavior with the speed set to Custom. This lets you define the camera's path and then you can easily animate its progress along that path by keyframing the behavior's Custom Speed value. This makes it really easy to keyframe changes in speed, such as having your camera hesitate at each image.
Or you can even use a Motion Path behavior per segment of the camera's journey. This allows you to have more flexibility with editing the timing in the Timeline.

First thing you do when you open the box is to do the setup and registration process. It is and easy walk through for that.
After that update your macbook using software updater (Click blue apple on the top left corner and choose software updater if it is not pop up by itsef).
Then go to finder (Click your Hard Drive Icon) > Click on Application folder > Click Utilities Folder > Click Disk Utility > choose repair permission and let it process till the end.
After that you are good to go.

What is the BUG FIX for automatic image crop done to all imported Raw files on the 5DIII? I need to be able to get back to the original size image without doing it manually thousands of times using the plug in, that's a huge waste of time.

all you can recommend is an unsupported plug in that forces me to reset each image manually? Can't images be altered in a batched way, or all at once, back to original without having to do them manually one at a time?!!! Time to change software? What is the official line on this problem please?

Yes, this is the official line and it is old news. It is either that or BREAK everyone else's images who shot a Canon 5D-MKIII and didn't crop in-camera.

I would like to ask you for help. I have MacBook 2,2 Ghz Core Duo (late 2007), few days ago I installed 4 GB ram (I recommend it everyone who has this model works now wonderful). Now I'm looking for good HDD becouse this 120 GB are not enought.
I know that I must look for HDD that is quiet and works without taking much energy from battery. My question is how big HDD can I install in my MacBook and what you recommend?

There is no limit to the maximum capacity you can install. The only thing you need to be concerned with is the physical height of the drive. It must be a 9mm drive. For the most part, just about all notebook drives currently in production are 9mm... but there are still a few out there that are thicker... just something to look out for... but not something you're likely to encounter. Be sure the drive is an SATA drive (not ATA or IDE). Other than that, the choice is yours. There is little difference in power consumption from manufacturer to manufacturer. Your other option is speed... either 7200 RPM or 5400 RPM. Generally, you can get a higher maximum capacity on a 5400 RPM drive. The performance and power consumption on both isn't different enough with modern drives to make too much of a difference.

You need to configure your service to start database on start service.
Run "Administration Assistant for Windows NT", open the tree (left) to go to database. At right, you have the list of database. Right click, properties, and check start database when start service.
Anyway, oracle 8i on Windows 2000 (and on all plateform) is desupported...
