Summarizing variables field with calculations

I have three fields which I need to summarize, as a group summary, then a grand total. The first field, Total_STD_Labor_Cost, is in a sub-report, which is a calculation and stored in a "Receipts" variable field. I then multiply Receipts*STDCost=Total_STD_Labor_Cost. This results, I can pass to the main report, but can not summarize it, regardless where it is placed in the main report, report footer or any group footer. The second and third fields are in the main report and are calculated using the "Receipts" variable field and cost fields. I can not summarize these two field either, I suspect because they include the "Receipts" variable field is why I am not getting any results. Running totals do not seem to work or apply here. So I am looking to either capture the sums of the fields by group and again in the grand total. Using the insert summary feature does not give the sum option.
Any thoughts would be truly appreciated.

OK, I created the part variables, reset, calc and display.(3 sets for three different totals. Using an example from Spiceworks.com.
Formula structure
-the first formula for calculation should be written as such;
whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar InsSum;
InsSum:= InsSum + [formula to be totaled]
this formula should be placed in the same section as the field to be summarized.
-the second formula for reset should be written;
whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar InsSum;
InsSum:=0
this formula should be placed in the section proceding the section containing the field to be summarized.
-the third display formula should be written;
whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar InsSum;
InsSum
and this formula should be placed where you were wanting the summary to appear.
So in my crystal report there are three groups. Group footer #1 has a subreport in to pull the product line name in.
Within that group I need to total std labor cost, lowlevel laborcost and highlevel labor cost.
Group #2 is by bomitem, which is a part number
Group #3 is for linenumber which refers to a subreport that has no bearing on the totals
I am trying to achieve.
Using the first set of fields, PlineTotalSTDLabCost_Calc, PlineTotalSTDLabCost_Display and PlineTotalSTDLabCost_Reset,, where should

Query linked to field with shift+F2 does not retuen 'Arrows'

I have a query that, when run from query manager and variable is input with [%0] does return results including the orange arrow to directly jump to the documents - perfect.
If I link the query to a field in production order to be called by Shift + F2 and replace variable input with $[OWOR.DocNum], it returns the list correctly, but there are no arrows.
What do I have to change to get the arrows?

I solved my problem using Dynamic Configuration to set the FileName and Directory fields in Adapter Specific Configuration. To use Variable Substitution only accept element in XML.

Error while deleting loc - Object variable or With block variable not set

I could not delete some of the existing locations in the HyperionFDM and it results in the error Object variable or With block variable not set.
I verified that the Server has the apps and subfolder which is needed for this application \\servername\data\app1\Inbox etc.
Any pointers will be really useful. Thanks !

There can be several reasons for it, for now I would suggest you:
This error generally comes because:
Cause
The user that logs on workbench does not have write access to the Financial Data Quality Management application shared folder.
Solution
Log onto the machine where the Financial Data Quality Management application files are located. You can locate this path by performing the following:
a) At the FDM Login page choose <Add Application> and login
b) Highlight the FDM Application in question and click the "Modify" button
c) The application path field displays the location of the application folder
2. Go the shared folder, right click and go to Properties -> Sharing -> Permissions and add the user to the Share Permissions and grant "Change" at a minimum.

here my problem is for BP transaction I could not find any BADI or screen exit to add the fields. Even EEWB tool does not allow us to cretate the fields with data type "TIMS". so could you please suggest any other way to add these fields to BP?
when I enter the values to the time fields in BP transaction, they must reflect in
BUT000 table also?

In the physical layer, Column Properties change the data type to int.
If still problem exists, In the Business Model, write a case statement like
case when column1=1 then 1 end
and apply count aggregation on the new calculated column,add the column to presentation table, use that new calculated column for report.

How to populate a hidden form field with a value passed from another page

I'm using PHP/MySQL and DW CS4.
I am trying to obtain the external key for a table, and include it as a hidden field in a form for a second table.
The user selects a "need" from a list and is taken to a new page which displays the need selected in the prior page and a form the user can fill out with details of his offer, there should also be a hidden field in this form that contains the index to the needs table, this hidden field holds the external key. Most of the code is working, except for populating the hidden field with the external key. I have proven(by printing it to the screen) that I have obtained the external key and stored it in a variable ($saveNeedId) . What I'm unable to do is assign this variable to the hidden field in the form I'm about to store in a table. Sometimes I get zero and sometimes I get the index to the first need in the table. This ought to be simple but I can't get it to work, I must be missing something obvious - still very new to PHP.
Here's the code that sets up the variable and prints it to the screen for test purposes

Query reg Variable Substitution with enhanced interface mapping

The scenario is IDoc to file using enhanced interface determination (message split based on some conditions) and the output file name should be based on a field value in the IDoc. So, I've tried using Variable Substitution Option in the receiver file adapter. But it's failing with the error 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException'.
My question is does Variable Substitution works with Enhanced Interface Determination? Bcoz the outcome of interface determination is a main and sub payload.

Using variables in a calculation function in Diadem script

I'm new to working with Diadem Scripts. I have tried the two different ways below to make the values of a channel equal to the results of a formula containing created variables. I can do it if the formula contains values in place of the variables using the calculator method. I would appreciate any guidance on how to correct the syntax in the below scripts.

I think you need to use channel name strings of the format "Group Name/Channel Name" in your ChnCalculate function. I usually use a formula, a symbol array, and a value array to get this done:

Message Mapping, filling field with 0 (zeros) on left

I need to fill a field with values that has variable lenght adding 0 (zeros) on the left, how can I do it ?
I'm using the LENGHT in message mapping, with value returned by LENGHT I use FIXVALUES to map the quantity of 0 (zeros) that I need to add in the field.

Hi Regis,
You can use the Arithmetic:FormatNum built-in function for this.
If you want to left-pad the number with zeros so that the length is always 10, then specify 10 zeros for the format, 0000000000.
This function takes formats based on java.text.DecimalFormat so you can see all of the possibilities at:

Getting error "Object variable or with block variable not set" when trying to open a FR report in studio

Problem Description
We are on FR 11.1.2.2.305 installed on AIX. a user is getting this error: "Object variable or with block variable not set" when trying to open a FR report from FR studio client installed on windows xp . Initialy, we thought it may be a FR client installion issue. We uninstalled and cleaned up registry and did a fresh installation of the client but the issue still persists. The FR server and the client are on the same version.
The user is a LDAP user who is facing the issue. We have confirmed with other users and they dont have any issue accessing FR report from their own client but when they try to connect from the users machine who is having issues, the others users also see the above error. All the users are ldap users and all belong to same shared services groups so the provisiong is the same.
Any input will be appreciated.

Modify Application: Error Message:: Object Variable or With Block variable

Hi Experts,
We just installed 5.1 on our server and once the application is installed.
When I try to modify the aplication I get this error at the end
This is step what the modify app does:
Check environment information
Drop Fact table index.
Modify fact table.
Update application information.
Set Fact table index.
Create stored procedures and comment table.
Increase application version and make legal consolidation table.
Make OLAP database and Journal/Audit reports. / Validate dimension formulas.
Error Message:: Object Variable or With Block variable

Please check if Reporting Services is working properly.
Just open IE and type http://nameofserver/reports
If you receive any error then you have to fix that error verifying configuration of RS.
If RS is working make sure you add the right information into Server Manager Server Option for RS and Report Server virtual directory.
Also please check the tblappsetinfo to have all the fields completed (regarding servers).

Problem in picking the system variable value in Calculation Script

We are using a Calculation Script to perform data export. And the target location where to crete the exported output file is given to the environment system variable.
Now I am using this system variable in the calculation script as below:

I am creating this system variable from the batch script and the system variable value varies at the runtime.
This calculation script works fine for first time and it picks the correct value from the system variable.
But the problem occurs from next execution of calc script. Even if i update the system variable with other value, it picks only the last execution system variable value and it performs execution.
Eg: Suppose for first execution system variable value is "D:\Bkup\PMV.txt"
The calc script works fine with this.
For next execution, system variable value is changed to "D:\Time\temp.txt"
Now the calc script picks the system variable value as "D:\Bkup\PMV.txt"
and performs execution which is wrong.
Please help me on this issue how to handle system variables in calc scripts.

I am creating this system variable from the batch script and the system variable value varies at the runtime.
This calculation script works fine for first time and it picks the correct value from the system variable.
But the problem occurs from next execution of calc script. Even if i update the system variable with other value, it picks only the last execution system variable value and it performs execution.
Eg: Suppose for first execution system variable value is "D:\Bkup\PMV.txt"
The calc script works fine with this.
For next execution, system variable value is changed to "D:\Time\temp.txt"
Now the calc script picks the system variable value as "D:\Bkup\PMV.txt"
and performs execution which is wrong.
Please help me on this issue how to handle system variables in calc scripts.

SwathiAs of my knowledge system variables will not update immediately...you need to log off the session after changing the value.
Update the system variable..
Log off from the session..
And Re-login with the same username ....and check...

I am playing with $$cpInfoElapsedTimeMS$$....
I have an action attached to a button in my project that assigns my variable $$TimeSoFar$$ with $$cpInfoElapsedTimeMS$$. That is all this action does. I also have a text caption that includes $$TimeSoFar$$ on the same slide. When I enter the slide $$TimeSoFar$$ in the text caption is 0, as that is the original value I set to the variable. This makes sense. When I trigger the for the first time with the button, I receive a negative number in my text caption as the value for $$TimeSoFar$$. When I trigger that action a second time, it seems to be correct ans is the correct value of $$TimeSoFar$$ . It is also correct everytime after that.
Any idea why this is happening?
