Super-scripted Ref Numbers with generated Ref Table (A Glossary?)

Good Morning All!
I have been trying to create a paragraph style that will be applied manually, but when applied Italicizes and adds a sequential super-scripted "reference number". These reference numbers will then be used to produce a table which will sort rows numerically and produce info based on each reference. I will also need this to delete duplicates. I have a remove duplicates script for my ToC and may be able to retrofit it to this, but we'll get to that later. I can single out words with GREP, but without creating my own "parts dictionary" it would be a pain to add a thousand or so part names* to a GREP. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to manually apply a paragraph or character style per instance and then use a script to remove duplicates. If there is a better way to do this I'm open to suggestions.
*Sadly part names aren't always consistent either due to different writers writing styles.
To keep it simple for now I'm wanting it to just produce: Example Row in Table - [Ref # / Blank cell for part number / Part Name (Text that Ref style was applied to) / Blank cell for description]

I'm running into a problem that my super script numbers wont sit right if its done through a paragraph style as it reads the entire paragraph. I need the style to apply to a word or group of words. I tried creating a numbering system like a ToC, but once again that works off of paragraph styles. I can manually apply a character style but it doesn't have any sequential numbering options. For right now I'm fine manually applying the style for each instance and then copy/pasting part number and description. I'm just looking for something to generate reference numbers and the name that coincides into a row of a target table. In the future it would be amazing to have it access the component dictionary (excell doc) I'm painstakingly building to grab the part number(s) and descriptions so I don't have to copy/paste.
I have been tasked with making multiple writers write the same thing. It feels impossible btw. So I have been creating an indesign template that does a lot of the work for you so that the largest inconsistencies are now handled by Indesign and leave no room for user error. This will not only help my older writers be consistent but will lessen the learning curve on newbies. Let me know if there is something differently I could be doing or if anything has worked well for you. I am open to any and all help/suggestions, I look forward to hearing back!

I was hoping that they would continue on through pages, but not documents (for booked instances). That they would be numbered on the fly so that if you moved pages around they would renumber themselves and then you could run a script to fix the order in the table. I have the sequential numbering scheme down for automatic figure box numbering. I just cant figure out the in-text mid-paragraph numbering. What do you have for me MVP?

Business Catalog updated with BPEL refs, not with BPMN refs

When adding BPEL processes to the SCA component you see the Business catalog modules "References" and "Services" are updated. However, when adding BPMN processes the Business catalog is not updated (and btw you cannot check "Expose as an web service" when creating a BPMN process like you can with BPEL processes). In my opinion the current solution seems incomplete: viewing the "Exposed services" lane of my composite.xml I should expect all of them in the Business Catalog, not only the BPEL ones. It seems Oracle's work behind the Business Catalog component has not finished yet or is there some logic behind this behaviour?

No I did not use Reusable or Manual processes, I use processes (asyn) with a Message Start event, and yes, I see them nicely in the Composite's Exposed Services and the wsdl's in the project's SOA Content folder. But my 'concern' is why the Business Catalog (BC) is not populated with BPMN processes like it is with BPEL processes. In the "Services" module of the BC I see the submodule BPEL with my BPEL processes so I had expected a submodule BPMN with my BPMN processes. From a business perspective I certainly would also see my business processes in the BC, so for me it seems 'unbalanced'
(I ran against this issue when using correlation:
In the process receiving an 'in flight' message I defined a Message catch event step in where I defined in the box "Message Exchange" Type :"Define Interface". Then building the process that throws the message to the in-flight process instance I defined the Message Throw event step and in that step I had expected to be able to use the Message Exchange Type "Use Interface" but that was not possible because I could only select BPEL services.
I solved this by selecting "Process call" in stead of "Use Interface".)

Using temporary tables with a ref. cursor

I want to use a temporary table to populate certain data and then return a ref cursor fetching data from the temporary table.
1. Will this approach work ?
2. Do I need to drop the temporary table ? Can I drop the table as a last statement in the stored proc (remember a ref cursor based on this table is to be returned as a out parameter).
Please help.

1. Will this approach work ?Sort of, just like it is possible to dig a trench with a spoon. It can be done, but why can't you just write a select that returns the data without storing intermediate versions of your processing somewhere.

If you really need to use a temporary table, it should be created one time when the application is installed, and should never be created in code.

How to call a Stored Procedure with a REF CURSOR output parameter

I am looking forward an example that call a stored function/procedure with a REF CURSOR output parameter and get the result.
In other words, I have a stored function/procedure that execute a SELECT statement using the OCI library and then it could get the values of each column and each row.
I put a code snippet, it have only the main thing to call a simple stored procedure and print the name of each column of the cursor, but I couldn´t to print out the values in the table that call the stored procedure.
I understand that the next step, it is to call a OCIStmtFetch.
How to associate the cursor with the OCIStmtFetch?
If you need more information, only tell me.
I am using ANSI C with HP-UX Operative System (C for HP-UX) and Oracle 10g.

I change the code with OCIDefineByPos, one for each parameter from cursor and then use the OCIStmtFetch.
I don´t receive a error when call OCIDefineByPos, but when I call OCIStmtFetch receive a -1 error number.
What is wrong with the code?

Issue with Generate Create Script in new ODT 11.1.0.5.10 beta

So I'm trying to determine if there's an issue with the Generate Create Script option in the new ODT 11.1.0.5.10 beta (when you right click on a table in Server Explorer).
The SQL create script that it generates lacks the slash between lines. For example I generated the create script for my User table and this is what was generated:

In my new Oracle Database Project, if I right click on the script and select "Run" or "Run On", the script fails saying:

So, does anyone know if this is a bug? Could I be missing an option to add in the slashes to the generated code? Is there an option to not require the slashes? Could there be another way to execute these scripts?
Seriously, I think I'm having deja vu from the last release of the Dev Tools: Generate Create Script creates scripts that won't run: ORA-00922: missing..
...except this time the documentation says I should be able to use the "Run" and "Run On" commands in the Oracle Database Project (see page 8): http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/dotnet/pdf/ODT11_whatsnew.pdf

There are 2 issues in the generated script :
1. Missing semicolons at the end of the create stmts
2. Missing slashes
Both of these fixes will be available in the ODT 11.1 release.

Issue with Generate Create Script in new ODT 11.1.0.6.10 beta

I've tried this on several tables in my database. I choose Generate Script to ... a file, for a given table it gives me the error message "An error occurred while writing to fil: \nValue was either too large or too smal for an Int32."
(It doesn't matter if I'm in a Oracle database project or some other project.)
Trying to Generate Script To Project... when I'm in a Oracle Database Project, Visual Studio (2005) crashes. It appears to be some overflow exception according to crashinfo:

I am transferring all interface processing from BC to XI and am having difficulties replacing some of the current BC functionality. Please refer to my example below
Current process
SAP R/3
SAP R/3 executes an abap that extracts certain data. This data is passed via a remote function which is configured to point to Business Connector
Business Connector
Business Connector takes control and the relevant package does some internal processing then calls the remote enabled function BAPI_ACC_BILLING_POST
SAP R/3
Control is returned to SAP R/3 to post the data and on completion control is returned to Business Connector
Business Connector
Business Connector again takes control where some more processing is done to generate an xml version of the data prior to returning control back to SAP R/3
SAP R/3
Control is returned to the abap immediately following the call to the remote function and processing completes
The initial synchronous call from SAP R/3 to Business Connector remains open whilst Business Connector executes a subsequent synchronous call to SAP R/3.
Finally the initial synchronous call in SAP R/3 completes
Proposed Process
I am transferring all interface processing from BC to XI and am having difficulties replacing some of the current BC functionality. In this instance I can set up the initial synchronous call via an XI Integration Process (sync/async bridge). This allows me to perform subsequent asynchronous calls prior to closing the synchronous bridge
I have successfully performed synchronous calls to SAP R/3 from XI for different scenarios and have set up the XI design and config in the same manner
When I try to perform the synchronous posting back to SAP R/3 from within the SA bridge I get the message Message is incomplete. No Sender found
Unlike BC, it appears that XI does not allow me to perform the synchronous posting back to SAP R/3 from within the SA bridge.

Dynamic REF Cursor with Dynamic Fetch - Urgent

i have a pl/sql package with generates dynamic SQL statments. my problem is i want to open this SQL statment dynamically and fetch data in dynamic variable.

Why we need two separate procedures (functions) in your package ?
a) Receiving program must use dynamic SQL, but in dynamic block we can access
only PL/SQL code elements that have global scope (standalone functions and procedures,
and elements defined in the specification of a package).
Unfortunately, cursor variables cannot be defined in the specification of a package
(cannot be global variables).
b) Receiving program must get the column list before ref cursor.
So, we have two options: call (in receiving program) the same function two times
(once to get the column list and once to return a ref cursor)
or use one procedure (or function) for returning query (to get the column list)
and second function for returning a ref cursor.

I am new to oracle and learning/trying to get the same output by using differnt methods,rather than using FOR LOOP ,I tried to use ref cursor with dynamic sql.I am in a belief that ref cursor's with dynamic sql are faster than FOR LOOP,irrespective of the size of data.Can you correct me if I am wrong.
Coming back to ur reply,how should my statement look like,when using ref cursor
with USING claus to sort data by asc/desc order.

If you have a stored/saved model of the database or the original schema structures in a script file, you can use ERWin to compare that to the current database. You can have ERWin generate a script the contains the differences which in most cases would be alter statements.

Have a problem in Numbers with entering data directly into a cell when a table reaches a certain size and special characters are used?

I am creating a list of words with special characters in some of them. I get to a point where I cannot enter data directly into the cell. I have to use the data entry bar at the top in the toolbar. Any solutions available?
This is the table I am creating...
From row 25 on, I am only able to enter data into the cell through the toolbar at the top and not directly into the cell itself. I believe that this problem originates from the special characters I have inserted in the previous records because if I do not use special characters, then the spreadsheet acts flawlessly. Have there been issues in Numbers with data entry, the size of a table, and using special characters?

I would try removing the rows with "special" characters one at a time to see which one is causing the problem

Issue with data dictionary -Table maintanance generator

I have an issue with Data dictionary, table maintenance generator. I have entered some records in a custom table (ZBCSECROLETOGRP) and changed the delivery class from C to A. When I create the table maintainance generator, I am encountered with the following errors:
1)Field ZBCSECROLETOGRP-PORTALGROUP shortened (new visible length: 000032)
2)0012 could not be generated
3)In TCTRL_ZBCSECROLETOGRP field LENGTH has the invalid value 01
My main motto is to create the table maintainace generator and transport to the furthur systems .

Regenerate the table maintenance by selecting the checkbox of "Modified field structure" => new entry & then save.
Also ensure that the new changes are not affecting old data bcz of data type changes. If that is the case, then delete the old records, regenerate table maint. & re-enter those records which you had deleted.

Ref cursors - 'with' clause

I am working with a procedure which is returning a ref-cursor to a Java Call. Inside the procedure I see a statment like

Can anybody explain such an usage for opening a ref cursor ('WITH' clause)?. What is the effect of using this and how Java will interpret this?

The procedure is still returning a REF CURSOR, regardless of the way the SELECT statements is created. There is no effect as far as Java is concerned.
