Support interMedia object types

Does current version ODP.NET support work with "interMedia" objects like ORDDoc, ORDImage?

Hello,
I'm not an intermedia expert, but I would have to say "no" based on my knowledge of it. The current version of ODP.NET does not have object support, which I believe you would need to work with intermedia directly from .NET code. The beta prior to the production release did include object support, but it was removed before going to production for various reasons.
Not sure that is helpful, but hopefully a bit...

    Hi Srinivas,
    We are working on Modelling in SAP PI, but we are unable to create any Business Object.. is there any specific steps need to be followed.
    Once we login to our ESR from index page we have this option to choose
    Available Profiles :         Process Definition
                                       Service Definition
                                       Unregistered.
    We are getting the option of new types (_Business Object_) only if we select Unregistered Profile and not in other Profiles . Is there some settings need to be done.

  • Des6i and intermedia object types

    Hi friends,
    anybody tried to capture intermedia object types like ORDSYS.ORDImage to the 6i Repos?
    I always get the error that he can't capture from ORDSYS. It is really nasty to create a column with BLOB and then change it in the DDL files.
    Someone knows a way to get around this?
    Thanks in advance
    Fritz (the Cat)

    I use Des 6i (6.5.28.8.0).
    I have tried to capture a server model from an existing database. Three of the tables have columns based on ordsys.ordimage, ordsys.ordvideo and ordsys.ordaudio. In the process of capturing the system complaints that this types can not be captured. In the database designer the column types video, audo and image are based on raw long. now Im doing the following: define the columns with type BLOB and generate ddl files; changing the BLOB to appropriated ones and run a script to build the database. you know a better way? thanks in advance Fritz

  • Support for Object Type?

    Is an Object Relational datamodel supported by APEX? I have a TYPE as OBJECT and a table which has this object. When I used the wizard to create a page, it created the item as a DISPLAY.
    create type test_name as object (
    first_name varchar2(100),
    sur_name varchar2(100)
    create table temp (id_no number primary key, person test_name) ;

    Partha,
    We currently dont have Object-relational semantics supported in Apex. You will have to code manually for that.

  • Search Using TREX -- If Supported by Object Type

    Dear Gurus,
    I have got this option lately in my RSA1 FInd button.
    I need to find:
    1. What does this do ?
    2. I have an object which is deleted, i dont find it in normal search.
    BUT
    When i tick this option and search i find some relevant Planning Components.
    Please let me know how to delete and find that obejct AND what does this Do , where does it search???
    Regds,

    Hi Suman,
    I am Manu's Colleague. We have the Hierarchy of Objects like this.
    Cubes --> Multiprovider -- > Aggregation level.
    We had two tranport requests one for the Planning objects Including Aggregation levels and the other for data model objects including cubes , DSO's and multiproviders. All deletion Requests.
    We moved the First transport request to production and we checked using Normal Find objectsand found no results for the aggregation Levels.We assumed all the objects were deleted.
    Then we moved the Datamodel transport request to Quasltiy and it failed stating that the Multiproviders are used in Aggregation Level. (this happened in Q)
    Then when we checked the aggreation Level in Planning Modeller we found it in there (this in both Q and P) and not in RSA1 transaction until we used TREX to retreive the result. (This in P as we dont have TREX in D and Q systems)
    This is the issues and beacuse of this we are not able to delete the Data models in the system.
    Thanks for all your previous replies and will be helpful if you have any idea ont his.
    Regards.

  • Object type component method name is not supported by object type BOR

    Hi All,
    Just want to get your help on the above error message in my workflow step.
    The method is successfully created in the BO, no errors, status is released/implemented.  This error only occurs when the workflow is triggered by a RFC call using SWE_EVENT_CREATE FM.  But when using t.code SWUS or SWUE the workflow will run as expected, no error.  And when the erroneous workitem is restarted using SWPR, it will run or continue successfully.
    Another thing, this is newly created task and method inserted in the workflow. If i delete this task, the workflow will run successfully when triggered by the same RFC.
    Hope you guys have already experienced this kind of error.
    Thanks in advance.
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
    I am trying to analyse the problem.
    When you trigger the workflow using function module it gives error. But when you trigger using SWUE or restart workflow then you do not get error.
    In both the cases ( SWUE or restart workflow  ) event is getting called using system. But when you trigger it prgramatically it throws error. I hope you are triggering it correctly.
    But as you are saying, when you delete the task and method it works fine. So that means it should not be triggering issue.
    Just do consistency check for the business object. Check if there is any issue in method.

  • Support for unit testing object types

    There's a Feature Request that suggests expanding the unit test tool to object types:
    Title
    Provide object type support for unit tests
    Description
    In the current version (2.1.0.63) I can perform only unit test for packages, function and procedures. But we use a lot of object types in the database and would like to test them. When is a support for object types scheduled?
    Average Rating
    10
    Development Comment
    This is planned for the next release.
    Status
    Scheduled for 3.0
    Although the status suggests inclusion in v3, in my current version 3.2.20.09 there is nothing.
    This is clearly an important issue for those who have voted for it as it scores a perfect 10 on average rating.
    Is there any sign of object types being supported in the 4.0EA1 release? There is a strong desire within my organisation to move to a more object-based approach to PL/SQL coding but until we are able to unit test easily there will be no real progress.

    If you are ready to learn a little bit of Ruby then you can try [PL/SQL unit testing with Ruby|http://blog.rayapps.com/2009/11/27/oracle-plsql-unit-testing-with-ruby/]. ruby-plsql library [supports also PL/SQL object types|http://blog.rayapps.com/2009/11/25/more-oracle-data-types-supported-by-ruby-plsql-gem/] as input and output parameters and return values.

    You can also use the original UT PLSQL package from sourceforge.
    I have used this in the past for testing with file comparisons, table object output from procedures, etc.
    We've also used the same setup for Oracle Forms code testing.

  • Domains for Oracle object types

    When I create a domain for a certain Oracle object type there is no way to create some kind of inheritance tree (and there is no discriminator support it seems). On the database level I have several object types that extend a certain base object type. I want to do the same at the BC4J level. But unfortunately this doesn't seem possible. Is there a work-around for it? I don't mind to write a little extra code, any hints or help are appreciated.
    Regards,
    Peter
    P.S.
    It seems the object type / domain support in JDeveloper 9.0.3(.1) isn't quite up there with entities and view objects. It's not even possible to change an attribute name at the Java side using the domain dialog (it's only possible by manually editing the XML and Java files). Will JDeveloper 9.0.4 have broader support for object types / domains?

    I've found a way to implement the inheritance myself, at least a start. I've noticed all custom domains for oracle object types have the static method "getCustomerDatumFactory". In this method (in the base domain class) normally an instance of the base type is returned. I've modified this method so that it returns instances of the different subtypes depending on the value of a certain column. To make this work I first have to edit the Java files of the subtypes and let them extend the base type instead of the Struct class. The factory method looks like this:
    public static CustomDatumFactory getCustomDatumFactory()
        if (fac == null)
          class facClass implements CustomDatumFactory
            public CustomDatum create(Datum d, int sql_type_code) throws SQLException
              if (d != null)
                BaseType b = new BaseType(d);
                if ("subtype1".equals(b.getType())) b = new SubType1(d);
                else if ("subtype2".equals(p.getType())) b = new SubType2(d);
                else System.err.println("Unknown subtype: " + b.getType());
                return b;
              return null;
          fac = new facClass();
        return fac;
      }I also tried to save several of the subtypes in the database in the attribute field (which is of the base type) using setAttribute, this seems to work out-of-the-box. It seems for now I only get this to work if the object type is saved in a column of a certain table, I can't get it to work (yet) for object type tables (see the other recent topic of mine).
    Is this the correct way to implement what I want? Or is there a better way?

    Peter

  • E5 - unable to open. object type not supported

    hi.
    2 Month back i brought Nokia E-5 Mobile and after few weeks i upgraded the Memory from 2Gb to 8GB. After copying all files from 2gb to 8gb am not able to open or install any existing programs and files. Even maps are not working. When trying to open or install the files am getting this erro " unable to open object type not supported " . Kindly help on this error.
    Thanks
    Velavan

    I have never attempted what you did, so can't say for certain, but I don't think memory card data is meant to be copied from one card to another (unless we're talking about data files like pictures or mp3's).  I don't understand what you mean by being unable to install files.  Are you trying to reinstall the programs that aren't working?  If your 2GB card still works normally, I suggest you format the 8 GB card, reinstall the programs to the empty card, and re-download the maps data.  If the programs still give you trouble, you may need to uninstall them from the 2 GB card first, but I don't think that should be necessary.  I hope that helps.

  • ORA-30626: function/procedure parameters of remote object types not support

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a dynamic LOV.
    I have a table and package in a remote database, I am connecting to the database using dblink. When I access package I am getting error
    ORA-30626: function/procedure parameters of remote object types are not supported
    However I can access table with [email protected], not the package!
    How can I solve this problem?

    Did you ever get an answer/workaround to this? I'm having similar problems in 10g.

  • Create Synonym for Object Type not supported; Why?

    Does anybody know the reason why Oracle does not support the creation of synonyms for object types?
    In our application we use many schemas to separate subsystems. The schema name has a version identifier included to allow multiple product versions loaded in the database at the same time.
    We reference objects between schemas by using synonyms, to avoid hardcoding the schema names.
    Therefore I must refrain from using object types, currently.
    Does anybody have such a multi-schema architecture, also?
    What is your experience?
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Robert,
    Type synonym is now supported in Oracle9i Release 2. The practice of using multi-schema architecture is an excellent practice for large applications. This provides a level of abstraction to simplify application maintenance, whihc you must have experienced. In conjuction with Object types, you can further simplify your application through reuse of user-defined types.
    Do you have an email address that I can contact you for further discussion off-line.
    Regards,
    Geoff

  • Increased Object Type support within Data Modeler

    Hi,
    This is a question mainly for the Data Modeler Development Team as well as the Tools group. First of all, the production version of Data Modeler 3.0 is very nice and the improvements in the DataTypes area over what was in EA1 are great. Thanks for adding the Domain support to the definition of Attributes and Parameters for Methods, that makes life much simpler and opens the door for a much wider range of object type modeling and ease of implementations since consistency can now be maintained much easier via Domains. Also the support for straightening of lines is awesome. This is the best implementation I have seen, even better that what we had in the Design Editor in Oracle Designer, kudos again to the team that built the diagrammer interfaces.
    My question is, Going forward will Data Modeler continued to be enhanced to finally fully support Oracle Objects and the object relational (OR) model? I ask this because as users of Oracle's RDBMS, we do not have a tool that allows us to fully model and implement the features provided by the Server Group in the area of Object-Relational features and functionality. Oracle Designer had some OR modeling capability, but the end of life on product stopped all further development. One of the common excuses is there is no market demand for object - relational modeling. I would argue, that the lack of market demand for object - relational applications is because we have never have had a tool that fully supports Oracle's object - relational model. Nor do have we had a development tool that allows us to implement a fully developed Oracle Object - Relational model. The tools group stopped the development of Oracle Forms support for nested objects and collections. The LOV functionality for REF columns is pretty awesome, but we can't get to nested collections much less a nested collection of REFs.
    So as a member of the end user community, we are stuck in this Catch 22. The Server Group continues to support and enhance the Object - Relational model, but the Tools and Modeling Groups haven't kept up with the tools to model or implement the functionality and features supported by the database. As a result we have a partially built set of tools that allows us to scratch the surface of the Object - Relational model but are not able to take full advantage of the powerful features of inheritance, inherited and extended collections, the ability to inherit and then extend methods, etc...
    The Object - Relational model was introduced with Oracle8, 10g solved the type evolution problem which made production implementation of object types realistic. My question is; Is Data Modeler finally going to fully support Oracle's object - relational model? If we as the end user community finally get a tool that does fully support the OR model, we'll finally be able to model, build and deploy applications that will in turn create that market demand which is lacking for the object relational model.
    Thanks in advance,
    ScottK

    Phil,
    Yes, having the ability to include an attribute from an data type as part of the PK, UK and or index will be very, very nice. Doing that opens a number of doors on the design, modeling and implementation sides. It would allow us to model and then create a data type which has all the common attributes for housekeeping information within each entity -> table. This is something we tried to do with Designer but was pretty involved script wise. By being able to create specialized housekeeping datatypes and then using the 'add attribute' with the scripts provided with DM 3.0, it simplifies the model after the fact. Think about it, we'll be able to have a datatype with all the attributes for created on/by and modified on/by along will all the methods to populate those attributes (formerly columns), then we can include that datatype into the entity as an attribute called say, 'row_audit' with the datatype of 'common_'. Now in one pass we have the place to hold the information of who created and modified the row as well as the date and time along with all the code required to populate and maintain that information. Everything modeled, defined and written in one place. No more have to include or write the pl/sql across several different modules, rather the calls to the method, a constructor, are within the insert or update statements for that table. If we take that train of thought and extend it to include the housekeeping functions for relational primary keys, then we can create one datatype with the attribute and methods to create a single column primary key. Once that is pulled into an entity, defined as the part of the unique identifier and then pushed down as a primary key and resulting foreign keys. We have all the code to enforce and populate primary and foreign keys wrapped up in one datatype with its supporting method as a constructor. Think of the other possibilities that would be available once we can include nested attributes w/i keys and indexes. It makes some models and designs much simpler, more maintainable, more scalable (less code to execute), etc...
    I have been thinking about this. I see ya'll have provided the options for IN, OUT, IN/OUT, COPY and NOCOPY as modifiers for the parameters on methods. We also have the option for COPY / NOCOPY in the constructor method for type. Will that be included?
    Lastly, since the Server Group solved the type evolution problem, that coupled with the ability to include a datatype as a definition for column really opens the design doors. For example, by using a datatype of 'common_', as mentioned above, if the system requirement appears after the system is built for a the name of the source system to be included with the 'row_audit' information, we can modify the datatype 'common_' to include these new attributes and methods and then the ALTER TYPE syntax provided by the Server and Language groups to effectively extend all the tables to include this new system requirement. Till the Server group solved the type evolution problem, this wasn't possible and we had to write several 'alter table add column' scripts. This is all replaced with the ALTER TYPE... cascade data command now. Once DM 3.0 includes the ability to reference embedded attributes, design and modeling life will be great.
    Thanks in advance,
    ScottK

  • Object type RSDS not supported in BAPI source system

    Hi
    We have a problem when trying to create Data Source in NW2004s with 3rd party tool 'Ascential Datastage' as source system.The error message is "DataSource XXX (DS-DEV): Object type RSDS not supported in BAPI source system".

    Hi Ellora,
    The latest BI release in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) includes a new type of DataSource for which staging BAPI has not yet been aligned.
    Third party ETL tool vendors can therefore only implement their load processes using the original type of DataSource from BW 3.x. This DataSource is still provided in the new release without any changes. Upgrading to NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) BI (BI 7.0) does not therefore endanger existing implementations based on BW 3.x and NetWeaver 2004 (BW 3.5).
    It is also possible to migrate third party ETL implementations based on BW 3.x into the new data-flow concept of a NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) BI environment using new DataSources, transformations (also new), and data transfer processes (DTP) (also new). This is possible because the system provides an emulated view for BW 3.x DataSources, which makes it possible to combine them with NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) transformations and DTPs for regular batch load processing (this does not include direct access and real-time data acquisition (RDA)).
    This allows the benefits of the new data loading concept to be made available in such third party ETL-based loading scenarios.

  • Partitioned IOT of Object Type - mapping table not allowed for bitmap index

    Hi,
    looks like a feature available for standard Partitioned IOTs is not supported for object based tables, namely the MAPPING TABLE construct to support secondary local bitmap indexes.
    Can you confirm behaviour is as expected/documented?
    If so, is a fix/enhancement to support mapping table for object-based Partitioned IOTs in the pipeline?
    Results for partition-wise load using pipelined table function are very good, look-ups across tens of millions of rows are excellent.
    Environment = Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

    NOLOGGING PARALLEL -- FLASHBACK ARCHIVE IOT_Flashback_Data
    This errors out with the following...
    SQL Error: ORA-25182: feature not currently available for index-organized tables
    25182. 00000 - "feature not currently available for index-organized tables"
    *Cause:    An attempt was made to use one or more of the following feature(s) not
    currently supported for index-organized tables:
    CREATE TABLE with LOB/BFILE/VARRAY columns,
    partitioning/PARALLEL/CREATE TABLE AS SELECT options,
    ALTER TABLE with ADD/MODIFY column options, CREATE INDEX
    *Action:   Do not use the disallowed feature(s) in this release.
    6) Re-running the create table statement in step 5 without the MAPPING TABLE clause works fine. Not surprisingly an attempt to create a secondary local bitmap index on this table fails as there's no mapping table, like so...
    CREATE BITMAP INDEX IOTObj_Table_BMI1 ON IOTObj_Table (numberData)
    LOCAL STORAGE (INITIAL 1M PCTINCREASE 0 NEXT 512K) NOLOGGING PARALLEL;
    CREATE TABLE with LOB/BFILE/VARRAY columns,
    partitioning/PARALLEL/CREATE TABLE AS SELECT options,
    ALTER TABLE with ADD/MODIFY column options, CREATE INDEX
    *Action:   Do not use the disallowed feature(s) in this release.
    CREATE BITMAP INDEX IOTObj_Table_BMI1 ON IOTObj_Table (numberData)

    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-00903: invalid table name
    00903. 00000 - "invalid table name"
    7) Creating a secondary local b-tree index is fine, like so...
    SQL> CREATE INDEX IOTObj_Table_I1 ON IOTObj_Table (numberData)
    LOCAL STORAGE (INITIAL 1M PCTINCREASE 0 NEXT 512K) NOLOGGING PARALLEL;
    index IOTOBJ_TABLE_I1 created.
    8) A quick test to ensure object table ok...
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('DEF456',500));
    SQL> 1 rows inserted.
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table;
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    DEF456     500

    Thanks Dan,
    the intention is to range partition based on the initial character, so A* -> Text_Part_A, B* -> Text_Part_B, and so on.
    Here's an example, using an empty IOTObj_Table as created previously.
    1) Set up & confirm some test data (two 'D's, one 'N', and two 'Z's)
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('DEF456',500));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('DDD111',510));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('N3000',515));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('ZZ1212',520));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('Z111X',530));
    SQL> COMMIT;
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table;
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    DDD111     510
    DEF456     500
    N3000     515
    Z111X     530
    ZZ1212     520
    2) Just to prove our IOT is enforcing the Primary Key based on the TextData attribute, try to insert a duplicate
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('Z111X',530));
    Error starting at line 141 in command:
    INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('Z111X',530))
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-00001: unique constraint (OCDataSystems.SYS_IOT_TOP_84235) violated
    00001. 00000 - "unique constraint (%s.%s) violated"
    *Cause:    An UPDATE or INSERT statement attempted to insert a duplicate key.
    For Trusted Oracle configured in DBMS MAC mode, you may see
    this message if a duplicate entry exists at a different level.
    *Action:   Either remove the unique restriction or do not insert the key.
    3) Now confirm that our data has been slotted into the range-based partition we expect using the PARTITION clause of SELECT...
    - The two 'D's...
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_D);
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    DDD111     510
    DEF456     500
    - The single 'N'...
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_N);
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    N3000     515
    - The two 'Z's...
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_Z);
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    Z111X     530
    ZZ1212     520
    4) And to wrap up confirm an empty partition
    SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_W);
