Suppress default namespace when extracting XML

How can I avoid that Oracle includes the target namespace of my schema as the default namespace when using the EXTRACT function?
E.g., select xmlelement("XmlData",
xmlagg(extract(tx.transmission, '/Transmission/Item')))
from transmissions tx
returns something like
<XmlData>
<Item xmlns="http://myschematargetnamespace" N="1">abcdef</Item>
<Item xmlns="http://myschematargetnamespace" N="2">abcdef</Item>
</XmlData>
Any ideas will be appreciated very much!
P.S. Can anybody tell me how I configure sqlplus to display the complete XML instead of only two lines?

Well not sure about your XML issue yet but as for SQLplus, you need to set certain session parameters.
type
SQL> show all
for a list of possible options but for your case I think something like
SQL> set long 10000
will help (this means limit to 10000 chars).
'set linesize' and 'set pagesize' could help too, eg:
SQL> set linesize 500 (if your terminal will accept 500 cols)
SQL> set pagesize 90
etc...
Voila.
Sam.

    I'm not aware of the answer, not would it make sense to do. element x in the noNamespaceNamespace is not the same object as element x in a specified namespace. Techinically there is no correct way to move the element from some specific namespace to the noNamespaceNamespace. You would have to construct a new element in the noNamespaceNamespace from scratch.

  • Default namespace problem loading XML

    I am loading multiple rss/xml file. For some of them I have to use namespace (atom feeds)
    so I write this lines
    var atom:Namespace = new Namespace("http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom");
    var rssXML:XML = new XML();
      default xml namespace = atom;
    I test this in a outside my program but when I integrate this into my main program, it seem like it 's in conflict with all other xml
    the problematic line is :    default xml namespace = atom
    How do I set a namespace only for one xml object ?????
    I try diferent way, but didn't get nowhere
    thanks

    You can declare namespace per XML (but do so before you create XML object):
    var namespace1:Namespace = new Namespace("http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom");
    default xml namespace = namespace1;
    var xml1:XML = <xml1 /> ;
    trace(xml1.namespace());
    var namespace2:Namespace = new Namespace();
    default xml namespace = namespace2;
    var xml2:XML = <xml2 /> ;
    trace(xml2.namespace());
    var namespace3:Namespace = new Namespace("http://www.example.com/schema");
    default xml namespace = namespace3;
    var xml3:XML = <xml3 /> ;
    trace(xml3.namespace());

  • Namespaces when Composing XML from Reational Tables

    Hi,
    I am trying to create XML documents from Oracle tables that look like this (this is a very abbreviated version):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <Document xmlns="urn:iso:std:etc:etc" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="urn:iso:std:etc:etc.03 ZZZZZ6A.xsd">
    <Cstmr>
    <GrpHdr>
    <MsgId>1006</MsgId>
    <CreDtTm>2011-07-12T11:49:07.0Z</CreDtTm>
    <NbOfTxs>4624</NbOfTxs>
    <CtrlSum>1133772055</CtrlSum>
    </GrpHdr>
    </Cstmr>
    </Document>
    I have a SELECT statement that works successfully as follows:
    SELECT XMLElement(NOENTITYESCAPING "Document"
    ,XMLAttributes('urn:iso:std:iso:etc:etc' AS "xmlns"
    ,'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' AS "xmlns:xsi"
    ,'urn:iso:std:iso:etc:etc.03 ZZZZZ6A.xsd' AS "xsi:schemaLocation"
    ,XMLElement(NOENTITYESCAPING "Cstmr"
    ,XMLElement(NOENTITYESCAPING "GrpHdr"
    ,XMLForest(spi1.msg_id AS "MsgId"
    ,TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YYYY-MM-DD') || 'T' || TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'HH24:MI:SS') || '.0Z'
    AS "CreDtTm"
    ,COUNT(*) AS "NbOfTxs"
    ,SUM(spi1.payment_pence_amt) / 100
    AS "CtrlSum"
    ) AS xml_doc
    FROM t_std18_payment_item_test spi1
    GROUP BY spi1.msg_id;
    This succesffully produces the desired output:
    XML_DOC
    <Document xmlns="urn:iso:std:iso:etc:etc" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:
    schemaLocation="urn:iso:std:iso:etc:etc.03 ZZZZZ6A.xsd"><Cstmr><GrpHdr><MsgId>1006</MsgId><CreDtTm>2
    011-07-12T13:20:19.0Z</CreDtTm><NbOfTxs>4624</NbOfTxs><CtrlSum>1133772055</CtrlSum></GrpHdr></Cstmr>
    </Document>
    I can then successfully create a VIEW for this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW payment_xml of XMLType
    WITH OBJECT ID (XMLCast(XMLQuery('/Document/CstmrCdtTrfInitn' Passing OBJECT_VALUE RETURNING CONTENT) AS BINARY_DOUBLE))
    AS
    SELECT XMLElement(NOENTITYESCAPING "Document"
    ,XMLAttributes('urn:iso:std:iso:etc:etc' AS "xmlns"
    ,'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' AS "xmlns:xsi"
    ,'urn:iso:std:iso:etc:etc.03 ZZZZZ6A.xsd' AS "xsi:schemaLocation"
    ,XMLElement(NOENTITYESCAPING "Cstmr"
    ,XMLElement(NOENTITYESCAPING "GrpHdr"
    ,XMLForest(spi1.msg_id AS "MsgId"
    ,TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YYYY-MM-DD') || 'T' || TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'HH24:MI:SS') || '.0Z'
    AS "CreDtTm"
    ,COUNT(*) AS "NbOfTxs"
    ,SUM(spi1.payment_pence_amt) / 100
    AS "CtrlSum"
    FROM t_std18_payment_item_test spi1
    GROUP BY spi1.msg_id;
    But when I select from it using:
    SELECT XMLSerialize(Content OBJECT_VALUE AS CLOB indent) AS "Payments"
    FROM payment_xml;
    I get this:
    FROM payment_xml
    ERROR at line 2:
    ORA-19276: XPST0005 - XPath step specifies an invalid element/attribute name: (Document)
    I guess this is to do with my namespace declarations as I can successfully select from the view without the <Document> tag. However, I cannot fathom out quite what I have done wrong or how to fix it.
    Any help gratefully received.
    Thanks you,
    Graham

  • Document contains too many nodes error when extracting xml tag name

    I Have a large xml file in which the tag contains ~: as the value.
    Now I am trying to extract all the tags which have ~: as the value and store that column using the following query and insert into a table.
    insert into space_md select distinct xmltype(extract(value(x), '/').getstringval()).getrootelement() COLUMN_NAME
    from gt_xmltype_tab gt, TABLE(XMLSequence(extract(gt.xmlfile1, '/ROWSET/ROW/*'))) x
    where instr(extract(value(x),'/').getstringval(),'~:') > 1;
    The xml file was generated using dbms_xmlgen.getxml. Table has 48 columns and around 4000 rows.
    My above insert query gave me an error of 31186 too many nodes error.
    I am using oracle version 10.2.0.3.
    Following are the set of commands I ran....
    SQL> insert into gt_xmltype_tab(xmlfile1)
    values(XMLType(bfilename('BKUP_RES','QC.xml'),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8'))); 2
    1 row created.

    3 where instr(extract(value(x),'/').getstringval(),'~:') > 1;

    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-31186: Document contains too many nodes
    Is there a better way of extracting the xml tag element name based on the xmltag content?
    There is one other table which has 172 columns but only 100 rows so it doesnt create any problem on that table.
    But this QC table has less columns but many many rows...
    Any suggestions

    There is a requiremnent of taking centain type of data backup and restore it.
    It was implemented on flat file approach which was giving errors.
    So it was implemented using XML approach.
    Read data, store in xml file and read from xml file and load it into table.
    Further, found that dbms_xmlstore is not able to handle tag only with whitespace
    and tried to use the loading xml file into xmltype table column and extract data.
    XMLTYPE column also has same problem of ignoring whitespace when used with extractvalue functions.
    So for the workaround I update xmlfile having only one more more whitespace in the tag to have ~: character once.
    After restoring data from xml to table I would run update qeury to update ~: to " ".
    Now instead of running blind update for all the tables and all the columns from ~: to " " I thouhgt whyy not create a xml file of tag having ~:
    along with its tablename.
    and thats where I found the problem of too many nodes...
    THe insert query you saw is populating table for table_name and column_name with tag having only ~: in it.
    I hope this gives you the fair idea of stuff I am doing.

    Next, I use the following two queries to get attribute values from the xml messages:
    First query using xmlns:
    select extractvalue(value(v),'/Product/@Ind' ) ind
    , extractvalue(value(v),'/*/@Ind' ) ind2
    from xml_messages f
    , TABLE(XMLSequence( extract(f.message
         ,'/Bereken/Reglementen/Reglement/Producten/Product'
                                  ,'xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP"'
                                  ))) v
    where f.id = 1; -- Selects from the xmltype message that does have xmlns specified
    This returns (as the first row)
    IND IND2
    ____ 1002
    ^
    |------ Nothing is returned by the XPATH /Product/@Ind
    Second without using xmlns
    select extractvalue(value(v),'/Product/@Ind' ) ind
    , extractvalue(value(v),'/*/@Ind' ) ind2
    from xml_messages f
    , TABLE(XMLSequence( extract(f.message
         ,'/Bereken/Reglementen/Reglement/Producten/Product'
                                  ))) v
    where f.id = 2; -- Selects from the xmltype message that has no xmlns
    This returns (as the first row)
    IND IND2
    1002 1002
    According to XMLSpy, the correct XPATH to get the "Ind" attribute is "/Product/@Ind" so what I dont understand is why query one doesnt return any data when using a default namespace.
    The XPATH "/*/@Ind" works in both cases and can be used as a workaround, but it seems less elegant than using the proper XPATH.
    I've tried this test case in 9i and 10g, in sqlplus and TOAD, with the same results in all cases.
    Can anyone provide some insight as to why this behavior occurs?

    Thanks, A_Non,
    adding the third parm to the extractvalue part of the query works.
    ie:
    select extractvalue(value(v),'/Product/@Ind', 'xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP"' ) ind
    , extractvalue(value(v),'/*/@Ind' ) ind2
    from xml_messages f
    , TABLE(XMLSequence( extract(f.message
         ,'/Bereken/Reglementen/Reglement/Producten/Product'
                                  ,'xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP"'
                                  ))) v
    where f.id = 1;
    I had not expected this because I thought the xml fragment returned by the extract didnt include the default namespace.
    However, when looking at the query in more detail, its clear Oracle automatically includes the xmlns part in the returned xml fragment.
    One of the rows in the xml fragment:
    <Product xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP" Ind="1002" ogr="27098.00" bbr="27098.00" igl="65" elt="130" pgs="63758.00" slt="65" plt="0" reg="0" orf="0"/>

  • XmlStreamWriter Default NameSpace

    Hi,
    I am trying use the xmlStreamWriter to create an xml file. But I am unable to write the default Namespace to the xml, Please can any one help me out?
    i want my starting element to be <foo xmlns="http://org.xyz.abc">
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.xml.stream.XMLOutputFactory;
    import javax.xml.stream.XMLStreamException;
    import javax.xml.stream.XMLStreamWriter;
            public static void main(String[] args) throws XMLStreamException, IOException {
                  XMLOutputFactory outputFactory = XMLOutputFactory.newInstance();
                  XMLStreamWriter xmlStreamWriter = outputFactory.createXMLStreamWriter(System.out);
                  xmlStreamWriter.writeStartDocument();
                     xmlStreamWriter.writeStartElement("foo");
                  xmlStreamWriter.writeDefaultNamespace("http://org.xyz.abc");
                        xmlStreamWriter.flush();
                     xmlStreamWriter.close();
               }The above code gives "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: illegal NCName: " Exception
    I am using java 1.6 b09.

    The code you posted, once wrapped in a class declaration, doesn't throw that or any Exception. It ouputs<?xml version="1.0" ?><foo xmlns="http://org.xyz.abc"Try again.

  • XML DB: using default namespace gives different result

    In Oracle9i R2 I created an XMLTYPE table based on a XML schema. The schema uses a namespace. When I insert an instance document that has a namespace prefix for every element querying works fine. When I insert an instance document that has the namespace defined as the default namespace, the query returns an empty row for that document. It seems to me that before storing the document the namespaces must be expanded and hence there should be no difference between the two documents and the query should return a value for both rows. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! Below is the script and the results of the queries.

    This seems wrong to me. I've filed Bug 2400119 to get this looked into by development.

  • How to suppress n0: default Namespace prefix in Transformations

    Hi,
    I use Simple Transformations for serialization of deep structured data.
    In the XML File the whole tree needs to use a special namespace. Therefore i use the attribute xmlns="ABC.de" without a namespace prefix in my root element. During serialization SAP generates a default namespace prefix like 'n0:'.
    Is it possible to suppress the generated namespace prefix?
    Thank you very much for reply

    Maybe somebody is interested.
    It seems to be a problem on old 640. On a NW 702 the result is as expected. NW 700 was not tested.
    Workaround for the 640 is to use as result a STRING field not an XSTRING.
    Greetings René

  • Output XML with a default namespace using XQuery

    I'm having a problem with namespaces in an XQuery within ALSB.
    We receive XML from a file which doesn't have any namespace and have to transform it into a different structure, giving it a default namespace such as below:
    Input XML
    <inputRoot>
         <inputAccountName>Joe Bloggs</inputAccountName>
         <inputAccountNumber>10938393</inputAccountNumber>
    </inputRoot>
    Desired output XML
    <outputRoot xmlns="http://www.example.org/outputSchema">
         <outputAccounts>
              <outputAccountName>Joe Bloggs</outputAccountName>
              <outputAccountNumber>10938393</outputAccountNumber>
         </outputAccounts>
    </outputRoot>
    When I attempt to do this using XQuery mapper tool, I end up with a namespace prefix on the outputRoot. The XQuery and result follows:
    XQuery
    declare namespace xf = "http://tempuri.org/XQueryProject/scratchTransformations/test/";
    declare namespace ns0 = "http://www.example.org/outputSchema";
    declare function xf:test($inputRoot1 as element(inputRoot))
    as element(ns0:outputRoot) {
    <ns0:outputRoot>
    <outputAccounts>
    <outputAccountName>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountName) }</outputAccountName>
    <outputAccountNumber>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountNumber) }</outputAccountNumber>
    </outputAccounts>
    </ns0:outputRoot>
    declare variable $inputRoot1 as element(inputRoot) external;
    xf:test($inputRoot1)
    Result
    <ns0:outputRoot xmlns:ns0="http://www.example.org/outputSchema">
         <outputAccounts>
              <outputAccountName>inputAccountName_1</outputAccountName>
              <outputAccountNumber>inputAccountNumber_1</outputAccountNumber>
         </outputAccounts>
    </ns0:outputRoot>
    How can I write the XQuery in such a way thay the namespace prefix isn't output? I've tried many different methods with no success. I can't declare a default element namespace because my input element doesn't have a namespace
    Thanks in advance

    I spoke too soon, it didn't work quite as perfectly as I'd thought :-) It turns out our client can't handle the xml with the namespace prefix but we've worked out the solution to return XML in the format we originally needed.
    Example below:
    XQuery
    declare namespace xf = "http://tempuri.org/XQueryProject/scratchTransformations/test/";
    declare default element namespace "http://www.example.org/outputSchema";
    declare namespace ns1 = ""
    declare function xf:test($inputRoot1 as element(ns1:inputRoot))
    as element(outputRoot) {
    <outputRoot>
    <outputAccounts>
    <outputAccountName>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountName) }</outputAccountName>
    <outputAccountNumber>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountNumber) }</outputAccountNumber>
    </outputAccounts>
    </outputRoot>
    declare variable $inputRoot1 as element(inputRoot) external;
    xf:test($inputRoot1)

  • SELECT returns no result when there is a default namespace definition inXML

    Hi,
    I have a problem that my select doesn't return any result when there is a default namespace definition in my XML file.
    I'm using oracle 11g release 1
    XML file stored as a binary XML:
    <SIMS xmlns="http://sims.ics.muni.cz" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://sims.ics.muni.cz jh_sims_matricni_vystupy_or.xsd">
    <Vystup Datum="2006-07-18" Typ="2" Nazev="Poslední etapy" PocetStudentu="1" PocetStudii="2">
    <Student RodneCislo="8001011001">
    <Jmeno>Petr</Jmeno>
    </Student>
    </Vystup>
    </SIMS>
    This select return no result:
    SELECT student.jmeno FROM jh_sims_bin_no_schema s, XMLTable('/SIMS/Vystup/Student' PASSING s.OBJECT_VALUE COLUMNS jmeno VARCHAR2(10) PATH 'Jmeno') student
    When I remove default namespace definition (xmlns="http://sims.ics.muni.cz") everything works fine and the same SELECT returns "Petr". Also when the file is stored in object relational storage everything works fine!
    <SIMS xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://sims.ics.muni.cz jh_sims_matricni_vystupy_or.xsd">
    <Vystup Datum="2006-07-18" Typ="2" Nazev="Poslední etapy" PocetStudentu="1" PocetStudii="2">
    <Student RodneCislo="8001011001">
    <Jmeno>Petr</Jmeno>
    </Student>
    </Vystup>
    </SIMS>
    Thanks for any help!
    Jan Hruby

    Hi Jan,
    You need to specify the default namespace of the document in the XMLNamespaces clause :
    SELECT student.jmeno
    FROM jh_sims_bin_no_schema s,
         XMLTable(
          XMLNamespaces(default 'http://sims.ics.muni.cz'),
          '/SIMS/Vystup/Student'
          PASSING s.OBJECT_VALUE
          COLUMNS jmeno VARCHAR2(10) PATH 'Jmeno'
         ) student
    ;

    Help me, please...
    Oracle version is 10.2.0.3

    Hi,
    If you declare a namespace prefix then corresponding elements must be qualified.
    So, either do :
    p_dt1.existsNode('/wnio:Deklaracja','xmlns:wnio="http://test.epuap.gov.pl/FeResourceServlet/wzor_lokalny/InstytucjaPubliczna/Deklaracja_DT/"')or use a default namespace declaration :
    p_dt1.existsNode('/Deklaracja','xmlns="http://test.epuap.gov.pl/FeResourceServlet/wzor_lokalny/InstytucjaPubliczna/Deklaracja_DT/"')BTW, could you explain what are you trying to accomplish?

  • How to parse XML document with default namespace with JDOM XPath

    Hi All,
    I am having difficulty parsing using Saxon and TagSoup parser on a namespace html document. The relevant content of this document are as follows:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    </head>
    <body>
        <div id="container">
            <div id="content">
                <table class="sresults">
                    <tr>
                        <td>
                            <a href="http://www.abc.com/areas" title="Hollywood, CA">hollywood</a>
                        </td>
                        <td>
                            <a href="http://www.abc.com/areas" title="San Jose, CA">san jose</a>
                        </td>
                        <td>
                            <a href="http://www.abc.com/areas" title="San Francisco, CA">san francisco</a>
                        </td>
                        <td>
                            <a href="http://www.abc.com/areas" title="San Diego, CA">San diego</a>
                        </td>
                  </tr>
    </body>
    </html>
    Below is the relevant code snippets illustrates how I have attempted to retrieve the contents (value of  <a>):
                 import java.util.*;
                 import org.jdom.*;
                 import org.jdom.xpath.*;
                 import org.saxpath.*;
                 import org.ccil.cowan.tagsoup.Parser;
    ( 1 )       frInHtml = new FileReader("C:\\Tmp\\ABC.html");
    ( 2 )       brInHtml = new BufferedReader(frInHtml);
    ( 3 ) //    SAXBuilder saxBuilder = new SAXBuilder("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
    ( 4 )       SAXBuilder saxBuilder = new SAXBuilder("org.ccil.cowan.tagsoup.Parser");
    ( 5 )       org.jdom.Document jdomDocument = saxbuilder.build(brInHtml);
    ( 6 )       XPath xpath =  XPath.newInstance("/ns:html/ns:body/ns:div[@id='container']/ns:div[@id='content']/ns:table[@class='sresults']/ns:tr/ns:td/ns:a");
    ( 7 )       xpath.addNamespace("ns", "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml");
    ( 8 )       java.util.List list = (java.util.List) (xpath.selectNodes(jdomDocument));
    ( 9 )       Iterator iterator = list.iterator();
    ( 10 )     while (iterator.hasNext())
    ( 11 )     {
    ( 12 )            Object object = iterator.next();
    ( 13 ) //         if (object instanceof Element)
    ( 14 ) //               System.out.println(((Element)object).getTextNormalize());
    ( 15 )             if (object instanceof Content)
    ( 16 )                   System.out.println(((Content)object).getValue());
    ….This program would work on the same document without the default namespace, hence, it would not be necessary to include “ns” prefix along in the XPath statements (line 6-7) either. Moreover, I was using “org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser” to have successfully retrieve content of <a> from the same document without default namespace in the past.
    I would like to achieve the following objectives if possible:
    ( i ) Exclude DTD and namespace in order to simplifying the parsing process. How this could be done?
    ( ii ) If this is not possible, how to include it in XPath statements (line 6-7) so that the value of <a> is picked up correctly?
    ( iii ) Would changing from “org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser” to “org.ccil.cowan.tagsoup.Parser” make any difference as far as using XPath is concerned?
    ( iv ) Failing to exlude DTD, how to change the lookup of a PUBLIC DTD to a local SYSTEM one and include a local DTD for reference?
    I am running JDK 1.6.0_06, Netbeans 6.1, JDOM 1.1, Saxon6-5-5, Tagsoup 1.2 on Windows XP platform.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jack

    Here's an example of using a custom EntityResolver with the standard DocumentBuilder provided by the JDK. The code may or may not be similar for the parsers that you're using.
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.StringReader;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.xml.sax.EntityResolver;
    import org.xml.sax.InputSource;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    public class ParseExamples
        private final static String COMMON_XML
            = "<music>"
            +     "<artist name=\"Anderson, Laurie\">"
            +         "<album>Big Science</album>"
            +         "<album>Strange Angels</album>"
            +     "</artist>"
            +     "<artist name=\"Fine Young Cannibals\">"
            +         "<album>The Raw & The Cooked</album>"
            +     "</artist>"
            + "</music>";
        private final static String COMMON_DTD
            = "<!ELEMENT music (artist*)>"
            + "<!ELEMENT artist (album+)>"
            + "<!ELEMENT album (#PCDATA)>"
            + "<!ATTLIST artist name CDATA #REQUIRED>";
        public static void main(String[] argv)
        throws Exception
            // this version uses just a SYSTEM identifier - note that it gets turned
            // into a file: URL
            String xml = "<!DOCTYPE music SYSTEM \"bar\">"
                       + COMMON_XML;
            // this version uses both PUBLIC and SYSTEM identifiers; the SYSTEM ID
            // gets munged, the PUBLIC ID doesn't
    //        String xml = "<!DOCTYPE music PUBLIC \"foo\" \"bar\">"
    //                   + COMMON_XML;
            DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
            dbf.setValidating(true);
            DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
            db.setEntityResolver(new EntityResolver()
                public InputSource resolveEntity(String publicId, String systemId)
                    throws SAXException, IOException
                    System.out.println("publicId = " + publicId);
                    System.out.println("systemId = " + systemId);
                    return new InputSource(new StringReader(COMMON_DTD));
            Document dom = db.parse(new InputSource(new StringReader(xml)));
            System.out.println("root element name = " + dom.getDocumentElement().getNodeName());

  • How to set the default Excel cell format when opening XML to XLS using an existing stylesheet?

    Hi,
    I have an XML file, which I'm opening with the Excel application. The stylesheet I use is horizontal.xsl.
    The problem arised when the XML has data in the format "1/4" or "1/16", which is translated in the Excel as date (like "01/04/2007").
    I think I have to set the default cell type to "Text" instead of "General". Does anyone know how it can be done?

    Is this the same question as idoZo, if so jigg has already answered it. If not then you should post your own query not hijack someone elses giving a clear and concise question, "how to set it??" doesn't help you or other in the forum to provide you with a solution.
    Is this relevant to TestStand? If it is then help by providing which version you are using and what software you are using with it. If not then post your question in the correct board.
    Regards
