Svg scaling is pixelated for Sarfari 6.0

Safari 6.0 is now rendering scaled svg graphics in a unconventional way which leads to horrible looking vector graphics. The image below is a test svg image shown in FireFox (or Safari 5.x) on the left and Safari 6.0 on the right. Safari is creating a rasterized image and then scaling it up which leads to the pixelated image on the right. The svg code is there to use, so why not render it out pixel perfect like it used to. There are some clunky work-arounds for this problem, but why not have Safari 6.0 render the scaled svg correctly? This is a portion of a 100x100 graphic scaled to 500x500... the whole advantage to using svg is its vector based rendering... lost here.
The code is basically an img tag refering to an external svg and the thing is scaled up. Something like this:
<svg  width="500" height="500" viewbox="0 0 100 100"
     xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" >
     <image  x="0" y="0" width="100" height="100" xlink:href="example.svg" />
</svg>
Safari 5.x handled this correctly.

I thought that this was answered because compressor worked well BUT I'm having the same issue with a slightly different spin. I use Boris RED to do my graphics and when I import a rendered quicktime into a 4:3 project it's not scaling correctly. The interlacing is really horrible and I haven't found a setting inside of Boris that will mate with a setting for FCP timelines. For those that are not familiar with Boris the options given for render output are:
720x486 NTSC D1
720x480 NTSC DV
640x480 NTSC Square Pixels
648x486 NTSC Square Pixels
720x540 NTSC D1 Square Pixels
Custom Size
You would think that one of those would work well but so far, no joy. If you are an AfterEffects person and have a comp size that you use I'd love to hear that as well as it might put me on the right track. This doesn't seem like it should be so complicated!
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!!

  • How do I use an Edge Animate project with SVG files in InDesign for DPS output?

    Is there any way to include an Edge Animate web content using .svg files in InDesign for output to DPS?
    Edge Animate works great with InDesign, except for when you're using SVG files. I've worked with SVG files on the web successfully (writing .htaccess files and such), but it seems like InDesign doesn't like them.
    This is pretty important because I don't want to have to design multiple renditions on the DPS suite. Currently I have it setup as a PDF format (DPS) and that scales all of the vector-based type perfectly. It would be wonderful if the animations could also be in a vector format so that when the iPad (3) users see the designs, they will scale naturally through the PDF framework.
    Any advice would be invaluable.
    Thanks!

  • Scaling image files for Slide presentation in Keynote

    I have had great problems importing and scaling images for Keynote presentations with approx 500+ images. Having tried to adjust the image to fit the full screen the scaling results in unacceptable pixelation. I seem to have solved this now by batch processing my image files and saving them as PDF files. These are then imported from the Aperture Library as iPhoto wont recognise the PDF file format!
    It's a pity that Keynote has so many restrictions for use in Slide/music presentations, having seen incredible professional results with Pic2exe (which unfortunately at present is not available in Mac format - tho the Win exe file will run I am told).

    Please tell us what you are really trying to do!!
    You know like dumb stuff like where are the images from? What's their resolution? If you';re using Aperture you can't be a newbie.
    You can achieve incredible professional results in Keynote, but you need to know how it wants to work.

  • Resizing WaveformChart adds 24 pixels for no reason

    Hello all,
    I've been working on automatically resizing the front panel of a VI I use very frequently on many different computers.  It's all working quite well, but I've run into a strange bug that's driving me insane.  A screenshot of where the problem occurs is below:
    The rest of the code isn't really relevant (and there's a lot of it), but suffice it to say, I'm scaling the size of the waveform chart and it's accompanying legend according to a scaling factor that works for my application as determined elsewhere.  The scaling factor is coerced to be between 0 and 1 as a double.  It works beautifully for every value I've tested it on, except if the scaling factor I'm multiplying by is 1.  When the scaling factor is 1, the legend width (LegWidth above) somehow gets 24 pixels added to it.  Probing what I read from LegWidth, what I write to it after multiplying by the scaling factor and the scaling factor itself, everything looks great.  It starts as 270, I multiply by 1.00, the value I write to LegWidth on the other side is 270 as expected.  But the legend grows 24 pixels wider (making it look awful) and subsequent calls to this same code show that the value is now 294.  Probing again, everything appears to be doing what it's supposed to (294 is read, the scaling factor is 1.00, the write value is 294) and again the legend grows by another 24 pixels.  Same story for subsequent executions, every time i call this code another 24 pixels is added despite that never showing up in my code.  An XY Chart in another tab on the same tab control has the exact same behavior (legend grows 24 pixels wider for every resizing).
    So, I can fix this easily by adding a case statement to not execute this code if the scaling factor is 1.00, but it worries me that this isn't behaving correctly.  Are there any settings that could be affecting this?  Autosizing the legend is definitely turned off.  I don't think it's another part of my code because it works beautifully for all other values I've tested.  For the record, I'm running 32 bit Labview 2013 on Windows 7 with a 64 bit processor (Intel Core i7).  Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated, I'm pretty thoroughly stumped and about to just add the case statement and live with the anxiety that my program is going to start adding 24 pixels in undesired places against my will...

    Can you attach your actual VI rather than just a picture of a portion of your code so that we can experiment with?

  • How to set pixels for smoothest -outline, in a design? I am using PhspCS5 TRIAL Grateful for help!

    First, I am not an advanced digital artist rather know (just)basic tools and am quite good with those over the years however, have a new Mac and better
    visibility for sure and have a TRIAL version of PSHP CS5 Extended; what I am asking is: how to set the pixels...to acheive the smoothest outline eg. I
    designs for greeting cards and now working on a Xmas tree, with gold stars, they look best outlined (vy-light=blk) but when I ZOOM IN I see the 'wavy lines
    of the pixels, that are set on 'square'.  I wish to know how to set the pixels* #1 and then as far as colours, when I pick a yellow (there are many!yellows !!)
    and use my Intuos pen, 'tap tap tap' on the designs (yellow of the star) it does NOT register ....(it did on my other computer and older CS4).  So going
    back, to my colour swatches, to ...remember just which yellow I picked...ha ha....can be: "not so fast!"
    I will be buying this on Subscription at the end of the trial and my bet is that the colour picker/will work on the purchased version when I 'tap tap' to pick up the
    same colour II had chosen.  Wouldn't it be good to have a monitor of sorts that tells you, what colour(s)one has been using, when you NEED to know, to go
    on with the 'design' say after a break for tea etc.  ?????  (    :
    I save my designs when done JPEGs, and see now there is a JPEG 2000...I have no idea what that is all about.  I save (1)pdf and one jpeg.  Hope this sounds
    like what  one 'does' ...when one knows far more than I do.
    And lastly,  what program or tool, can one use to put a 'frame' (border) around a eg: 5 x 7 design (again, my goal is for my designs for Greeting Cards.  Is there
    another Adobe products I should have for that.  Free hand hasn't worked out so well, so far.
    I am in advance, so grateful to you - whomever you may be, for your help.  I am on my last 'hoorah' path now hoping for success soon....I am a senior of 71 yrs
    and so feel I need to really 'get going' and learn these basics to assure my chances of success, at least. Merci, Danke & Thank You ! CDW

  • Is there a way to lock transparent pixels for more than one layer at a time?

    I've tried selecting multiple layers to modify but the lock transparent pixels box becomes greyed out once I've selected more than one layer. Apologies in advance if this is deemed to be a stupid question but it would be greatly appreciated if someone knows of a solution. It would be very handy for some of the projects I'm currently developing.
    Thanks.

    I have not had a problem in Photoshop CC 2014 as long as I selected a layer with transparency, in my case the gray checkerboard. The button would dim if I selected an adjustment layer.

  • Ideal photo size (pixels) for viewing in iPod Touch?

    I would like to move some of my photos from iPhoto to my new iPod Touch, but the photos are very large. What would be the ideal high resolution photo size for viewing in the iPod?
    Thanks.

    I'm guessing that you are looking for the actual screen size in pixels .. maybe someone will know that but I do know that on the apple site they mention the video being 640x480 pixels, so that might be a size to try.
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/compare-ipod-models/#moreinfo
    Though so long as you have it in the same proportions .. when the image should transfer even at higher resolution to the size of the screen and avoid the black bars that I guess is the reason for taking the trouble with this

  • Standard VS 1 to 1 Previews - and 1400, 1600, 2800 pixels for Preview

    Have LR 3.4.1 on XP
    Need conceptual guidance on what to best choose for previews.
    I have 600 raw images in a photoshoot.
    I want to import them and then be able to see them in Library
    Problem is:  When I go to look at an image...it takes 10-12 seconds for it to come into focus for me.  It says loading.
    I tried to do standard previews...then I thought id try 1 to 1 previews...but both are still slow.
    Then I saw in preferences where I can do 1000, 1440, 1680 or 2800 pixel previews?  What do I pick?
    I want to examine my images full size pretty quick without having to wait, wait, and wait for my focus to come in.
    I thought that taking the time up front to render them 1 to 1 would be a big help.
    Now heres the biggie...dont automatically grab this as an easy answer...im using an external  western digital 1TB USB drive to store my images on.
    The catalogue is on MY 10,000rpm fast C: drive (are the previews there?  or can I make them go there with the catalogue?)
    Can someone conceptually help me to understand which way to import and set up preview settings so I get nice fast views of my images without waiting for 12 seconds...or having to put all my shoots on my C: drive.  I want to store all my files on an external drive. its a 20mb sec speed drive.
    Thanks
    Suzzie

    There are various places in the application where previews come up so its necessary to understand the role. You have options for the Standard Size previews as you have discovered. They are used to view the images in the modules based somewhat on the size of your display and how large they would thus appear ‘zoomed out’ (not 1:1, we’ll come to that in a moment). If all you want is standard-sized then choose a size equal to or just slightly less than your screen size. Lightroom will build the smaller versions at the same time. These previews  are used for the thumbnail, 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4 zoom levels. These previews are known as the "preview pyramid" by Adobe due to the group of preview sizes built. I run my 30” display at 2560x1600 so I have my preferences set for 2048.
    Now in Develop, when you want to view at 1:1 (or greater), LR has to build a different, high quality preview, that takes some time. I suspect this is the delay you are referring to. But these previews are different from the previews used above. The previews once built actually populate the ACR cache so you may want to look at the preferences here and decide if you want to store more of these pre-previews if I can make up a term, so that when you revisit Develop, the previews load much faster.
    Of course, you can decide upon import what to do in terms of building the previews. You can pay me now or pay me later. If you want to build the 1:1 on import and walk away, while you edit those images later, everything will be much faster. As you delete images, you are deleting (eventually) preview data you didn’t have to build but then its usually easier to see what images to throw away when you can clearly see them. That’s why I take the speed hit on import, take a coffee break then come back and edit without having to wait too long for the previews to load (its still not instantanious but its much, much faster to build the big previews first).

  • How to render string in graphics2d by draw pixels for each string....

    How do you draw a text of graphics2d onto screen? BUT without using the drawstring method which just prints the text out.
    What i basically want is to render the text, one pixel of the text string at a time.
    for e.g. say i want to draw the word "hello", what i want is that it starts at letter "H" by drawing pixel of top to bottom at a speed which i can control (latter stuff)

                             timerThread.join();
                        } catch (InterruptedException ie) {}
                        timerThread = null;
    }It allows you to toggle between drawing one pixel at a time and one row of pixels at a time. If you do the former (what you asked for in this post), you'll have to set the delay pretty low, as it takes longer than you think to draw each pixel individually. If you do the latter, you'll want to set the delay much higher (in the milliseconds), because it's very fast to draw 1 line at a time.

  • Actual Cursor-Pixel for selection inaccurately placed?

    Hello,
    I've tried going through a few pages on Google search results and here at the Apple community section, but I have not seen anyone with this question.
    Below is as a picture I took with my iPhone really close to my non-HD monitor. I apologize for it being blurry. The point is that the actual pixel the OS X cursor uses for selection seems to be wrong, at least on my Late 2012 Mac Mini running 10.10.1. (This "problem" also existed in Mavericks, as well.) When I click on the desktop and drag down -> right, it seems ok. When I click and drag either up or down -> left, it shows it being off. This odd placement for the selecting pixel is also demonstrated by moving the cursor to the right side of the screen; here, I can see enough of the cursor left on the screen that I see the slop up and down from left "line" of the cursor.
    Maybe it has always been that way, but having used (read: suffered) Windows for so long, I'm used to the cursor being more in the actual point. The cursor for OS X seems to be offset from even the black point within the white border.
    Any clarity provided into this would be extremely appreciated.
    Thanks!
    P.s. I have no idea how the image got inverted from being taken on my phone then Airdropped to the mini.

    I don't see the option for editing that post. It should have said "slope up and down" in the last sentence of the second paragraph -- NOT "slop up and down."

  • Is it possible to specify width in pixels for multiple objects at the same time in Illustrator CS5?

    Illustrator has the 'Transform Each' dialog, but it only allows you to scale multiple objects by specifying a percentage. Is there any way to specify the size in pixels?
    More specifically, imagine I have 10 rectangles on my canvas, and I want them all to be of a specific height. The rectangle position on the canvas matters, so I can't do the 'vertical align to top and then resize group height' trick - they need to be resized in place.

    @Mike: Thank you very much for the quick reply.
    Your suggestion does help, but there is still a gap. To be more specific, my rectangles are actually a bar chart, so the heigh of the ractangles is different and should remain unchanged. What I want to do is make each bar narrower to a specific pixel width. The Shape Options feature allows you to specify absolute dimensions, but it seems like you have to specify this for both the Width and Height - can't just do one unless I'm missing something. You can specify relative increase/decrease in pixels (which mostly solves my problem), but I have to calculate the pixel difference, usually fine unless I'm dealing with decimal pixels which I'd like to clean up and turn to clean pixels.
    A bit confused about your last point. What does 'select individually' mean? Is Ctrl Enter do anything different from just Enter?
