  • [svn] 3035: * Added HTTPMultiService component - refactored the guts of HTTPService into a new

    Revision: 3035

    Date: 2008-08-28 23:18:11 -0700 (Thu, 28 Aug 2008)
    Log Message:
    * Added HTTPMultiService component - refactored the guts of HTTPService into a new
    class AbstractOperation which HTTPService now wraps.
    * Moved concurrency and showBusyCursor classes up to the mx.rpc level from mx.rpc.mxml.
    Partly this improves consistency and partly because it is awkward to implement them
    with the wrapping design in the subclass. This does introduce a new dependency on
    CursorManager in mx.rpc.HTTPService, though I think that should turn into a "runtime binding"
    so we remove the compile time binding altogether.
    * Added managers, operationManager, resultType, resultElementType, properties to the
    AbstractService and AbstractInvoker classes. These are used to improve the metadata information
    on these operations for better tooling in the future, and to allow management services to
    tie into the service infrastructure.
    * AsyncToken gets a default parameter for its constructor so it can be used in MXML.
    * Moved endpoint property up from the MXML to the regular mx.rpc version to improve consistency
    The blazeds RPC tests passed unfortunately I had problems getting the RPC tests in the sdk branch
    to build and run so let me know if you see any problems on those.

    the "main" class contains the following relevant codetip: 'relevant' code is rarely read, particularly if it's more than 5 lines.
    about 75% of posts with relevant code, the problem is elsewhere.
    create a new program with only those parts related to the problem
    e.g. if your main program has a menu, and there's no problem with that,
    don't include the menu in the new program. If your program has button,
    and no problems, don't add them in. if just the tree, all you need is a frame and a tree.
    when you do this, make sure it compile and runs OK (but displaying the problem behavior),
    then post all of it here, along with the steps to reproduce the problem.
    doing it this way should drastically reduces the lines of code, therefore greatly
    improving your chances of a solution.

    Hi Lucas,
    We don't recommend making layout renderers for each item that needs to be laid out.  In fact you shouldn't be creating layout renderers at all (they are created automatically by the MediaContainer).  The best way to layout Media is to add LayoutMetadata to the MediaElements.  If you want to integrate layout into your controls, which aren't MediaElements, I wouldn't suggest you place them manually on the stage, and do you yourself.  If you absolutely need to use the OSMF layout system, I would recommend creating a MediaElement to wrap your controls, and then give the wrapper the layout metadata you need.   The easiest approach though, is to look at the OSMFPlayer example, which has a skinnable player.  You can specify image for every button in the player, as well as background color, etc....
    We will be releasing a white paper on the subject of layout in the coming weeks.   I'll be sure to include a section on laying out your player controls.

    If you're just doing it in a back and forth or spiral fashion, you don't need to check whether a square's been filled in. You just go from a start point to an end point. Those points and the squares in between are determined by simple arithmetic.
    If you're doing it randomly, I wouldn't use the GUI elements themselves. I'd have, for example, and array of booleans that tells whether each square has been filled in.

    One workaround is to turn off automation:
    File-->Options, Advanced tab, General Section, uncheck "Enable Automation Events"
    However, you will loose the ability to configure callouts, and all of the commands in the Process Engineering tab.
    Another workaround is to change the loop number of the shape you are editing before changing its type. Then change the loop number back to the correct loop number.
    This is another example of the pernicious philosophy of trying to help the user do what the programmers think the user is trying to do that started in Excel 2000 (where you can no longer tell excel that you want a scatter plot - it will force the plot
    to be a line plot under certain circumstances).
    I suppose another option would be to modify the master and swap the text and subtype shapes in the indicator to use the subtype property for the loop number and then use the text for the instrument type. I guess this is what MS was trying to implement, but
    didn't explain it well enough to their programmers.

  • Bgm.ser and jaxb.properties not created

    Is there a particular reason to why the bgm.ser and jaxb.properties files are not created when a schema only consists of a simpletype and I run the binding compiler???
    The two files seem to be created when I include a 'dummy' complextype in the schema. Is a complextype needed in order for the files to be created?
    Cheers.
    Anders
    <simpleType name="Values">
        <restriction base="string">
            <enumeration value="ValueOne"/>
            <enumeration value="ValueTwo"/>
            <enumeration value="ValueThree"/>
            <enumeration value="ValueFour"/>
        </restriction>
    </simpleType>

    I've had the same exact problem! I had the property file in my JAR file properly, but the JAXBContext.newInstance( "package.name" ) call was failing - while at the same time I could load the property file via the ClassLoader just fine, by hand.
    I played around with source for the jaxb beta a bit and I think I found the problem. I recompiled the JAR file after changing the "fileSep" variable in the "searchforcontextPath" method from "file.separatorChar" to "/".
    This seemed to fix the problem. Well, the problem of it not finding the properties file that is... now I've got some kinda non-marshalable exception (but I haven't even spent 3 minutes on that problem yet, as opposed to the hours wasted on this bug).
    I'm not sure if this bug only cropped up when running under a Windows env or not (my test was running under JBoss on XP... though I was building/compiling under Linux).
    Anyway... to fix this just change that variable.. it's on line 228 (i think... i might have added some debug lines of my own in the code) of the javax/xml/bind/ContextFinder.java file. Then just re-jar it over the old JAR -- oh yeah, you'll need a few Message.property files from the jaxb-api.jar file for the new jar file to work (so make sure you unjar the old file 1st or back it up or whatnot).

  • Why apple is not adding tweaks like activator,volume slider in multitasking bar and a blacklist app

    Why apple is not adding tweaks like activator,volume slider in multitasking bar and a blacklist app?

    But quantity is not everything.
    Funny, because Windows proponents and users touted the quantity of apps available with that swiss cheese for security OS being "everything" or a big plus, but now say it isn't everything with iOS. Can't have it both ways.
    At present there are about SIX blacklist apps in the OFFICIAL Apple Store which I can buy for MONEY but have NO USE AT ALL because of the APIs restrictions.
    3rd party apps don't have access to private iPhone APIs for security reasons. Andrioid is following the same path as Windows. Their so called "open" OS is a swiss cheese for security mobile OS.
    If this isn't acceptable to you or having an option to block unwanted calls provided by the iPhone's OS is a very important want or need, stick with an Android or Symbian device that includes the option.

  • Adding attributes to ADUC user properties

    Hi,
    I want an extra field to appear in the user properties box for ADUC.  I know I have to do this in ADSI edit, but after trawling through a few articles I am still non the wiser what needs adding where and how :-S
    I would like to add an extra field in the users Address tab that would indicate which floor they work on.  Below is an example of where I would like this field adding.
    Any advice on how this can be added would be gratefully received!

    I don't want to bee offending, but if you don't understand how, don't touch it.
    Consider adding the info in one of the existing fields/attributes. you could for example include the floor number in the address field.
    You can see all attributes and their values by choosing view - advanced features in ADUC. This will add a tab attribute editor. (not it does not work when you searched for an account). There are even 'ExtensionAttributes' which allow you to store additional
    info without changing he schema.
    If you wan to add  a real custom property, you need to extend the AD schema. doing this is not something you can do and undo at will, so trial and error is out of the question! http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc759633(v=ws.10).aspx
    Aside from the challenge of selecting an appropriate attribute, you also need some configuration to make ADUC display it. the way you want it (a nice textfield on an exsiting tab) will involve some coding effort
