Synchronizing my contacts between iPhone and Outlook

I currently synchronize my calendars between my iPhone and Outlook via the USB connection between my computer and the phone. I tried to do the calendar synchronization through the iCloud, as that looked really slick, but I didn't like some of the side effects, so I went back to synchronizing directly between my computer and my phone. It seems like to synchronize the contacts, the only option is to use iCloud, but I don't know if I can do that only for the contacts and not have my calendar involved? Any suggestions on how I do this?

  • Merging contacts between iphone and Outlook  rather than syncing

I want to be able to update a contact on iphone and in Outlook and when I sync I want the contacts to merge.
At the moment they seem to sync so if I have deleted on old phone number in Outlook but it is still on iphone it reappears after the synce and vice versa.
I want to merge so I can edit freely on both devices and on syncing be given the choice what information to accept or reject (like my Nokia E51 used to).

  • Problems with synching calendars between iPhone and Outlook 2007 on Windows

I recently purchased a copy of windows 7 ultimate 64. It was an English version, but since it is ultimate I downloaded and changed it to Danish - so far so good...
I have synch'ed between outlook and iPhone on a Vista platform without problems, but now on windows 7 when I sync - the result is, that on my iPhone the meetings, work schedules and birthdays I have in my calendar is shown a day too soon!!
I have checked that both iPhone and Outlook start the week on Mondays, so that is not an issue - I have updated my iPhone to the newest software with out any luck - so now I try and write here instead - hopefully someone can help me...
    thanks in advance

yes they were set to the same timezone - which puzzled me a lot...
I lost a lot of sleep, but I can now say that I have solved the problem...
What I did was, that I un-installed microsoft office (desperate I know!) - then ran a sync with the iPhone choosing to overwrite the Calendar in the phone - as there was no calendar present - it deleted what was on the phone. Then I re-installed Microsoft office, by doing that, I didn't loose anything because the user files was still present including mail setting etc. - resynced the iPhone - and now it works...
Just can't figure out what went wrong in the first place...

  • Calendar times do not match between iphone and outlook

I have an iPhone 4S, at work I use a PC and Outlook.  I have both my PC and my iPhone on the same time zone.  If I set an appointment in either calendar the time gets switched in the other.  For example:  I set an appointment in my iphone calendar for 11am.  One my outlook calendar it shows the same appointment at 10am.  Both systems are set to the same time zone, what gives?  How do I fix this?
Another thing I should add is I am in Saskatchewan Canada.  We do not switch time for daylight savings in March an November. So when the time switched in November everthing works great, it is only between March and November whe this problem arrises.  Saskatchewan is a setting in timezones for bothe the iphone and outlook so I don't think this should matter.  Unless one of the companies does not know Saskatchewan does not change times.
    Any suggestions?

Apple puts Saskatchewan into Central Standard Time, which isn't correct.  Then when it syncs to Outlook, Outlook puts the appointment into the CST time zone, instead of the Saskatchewan -6 time zone.  The problem is Apple's iCloud sending the wrong information to Outlook.
Need a fix for this please.

  • Syncing contacts between E71 and Outlook

    Hi there
I have a brand new E71, and a thing of joy it is. One small thing about PC Suite syncing though: there are numbers in the phone that just don't make it into my Outlook contacts. I have PC Suite version 7.0.8.2 and Outlook 2003, on a Windows XP laptop (HP model). I've copied all my SIM contacts to the phone memory, and done a resync... but there are still a small handful of contacts on the phone that contain a phone number - but the phone number simply does not appear in the corresponding contact in Outlook. I've done a couple of variations on syncing chanding the direction from phone to PC, and then from PC to phone, but that also seemed to make no difference. Searched all over the forum and the Nokia site for help, but to no avail.
It's irritating rather than mission critical but suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
And a second query: why do I get so many duplicates as a result of syncing - never used to happen with my 9300. Any way to stop it happening. I now have six or seven versions of some contacts both on the phone and in the Outlook contacts, and the only way I can see to fix it is manually, which will be a long and tedious process.
    Thank you for any help!

E71 firmware version 4.** Latest .PC Suite Version 7.1.40.1 PC Connectivity Solution: Version 9.45.0.0 Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver: Version 7.1.23.0 Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 2 Language: English Language for non-Unicode programs: English Detected Bluetooth stacks: - Microsoft (Version: 5.1.2600, Build: 2180).
    I connect via Bluetooth.
The connection between the phone and PC is good. The contacts in PC suite are updated correctly.
Problem: New contacts in the E71 is not added to the contacts folder in Outlook 2007, It used to work. I think it stopped working after the PC suite update some time ago because that was the only change I remember. I rechecked settings in PC Sync and no change. I can see when the phone connects to PC Sync on the phone and in PC Sync. The changes just stay 0. I do make sure that keypad is locked and phone not in use when synchronizing. Its a great phone, please help.

  • Sync my iCal in between iPhone and Outlook 2010 on Win7

    Hi,
I have an iPhone4 running iOS5.1.1 (as of today) and an iCloud account.
My iPhone calendar (iCal) is synched with iCloud calendar.
My business PC is running Win7 and Outlook 2010.
My compagny has selected Google Enterprise to provide all the mail services.
As such, I have a Google deamon running on my PC to sync my emails in between Google GMail Enterprise and Outlook 2010.
Please notice, that, due to security rules, I can not symply enter my Gmail Google Enterprise IDs on my iPhone to get it synched with GMail...
As such, to get at least my professional calendar on my iPhone iCal, I was using a cable connexion in between the PC USB port and the iPhone, and running iTunes sync.
I though it was paintfull, and I though iCloud was able to do so.
As such, I installed iCloud Dashboard and my PC and started to configure it to sync my Outlook 2010 calendar (at least) with iCloud.
I successfully entered my iCloud AppleID, and arrived on the configuration of the sync.
Despite all the tests I run (connected from the office or from home), I not able to get it working as I am always getting an error message from iCloud dashboard:
"Your configuration can not start as an unexpected event"
Any clue on what's going on?
Any idea on what I can test more?
    Best Regards
    Arno

  • Sync problems between iPhone and Outlook (MS Exchange)

Hi all, I have a problem with my iPhone. I have an MS Exchange e-mail account setup on it and whenever I get an e-mail it goes on both the phone and Outlook however when I delete something from Outlook it does not do the same on the iPhone. On the other hand if I delete something on the iPhone it does reflect on Outlook without problems. So its not that there is no sync, the problem seems to be one side only....
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot

i use outlook for my work email, but my personal email is in gmail.  besides work email, i do not use outlook at all.
i get my work email on my iPhone, but i do not sync calendars and contacts as i have to use an imap connection for work, and this does not allow for calendar or contact syncing.
i have seen a gmail/outlook sync tool, but i am afraid i do not use it so i can not offer any help with it.

  • How to sync contacts between iCloud and Outlook without iCloud moving the contacts

    Hi,
When synching Contacts between Outlook and iCloud, iCloud moves away the Outlook contacts from the default directory, to a newly created data file.
This issue already existed with MobileMe Calendar, and now seems to have been "adopted" for the Contacts as well in iCloud.
This causes me many issues, including synching the same data with other devices and other PC's.
    Any work around?

Apples iCloud is not working with Outlook as it is making new folders isolated from the standard folder *.pst.
I have tested intensely and moved back to Google Sync (calendar) and iTunes (contacts, notes) as they sync properly with the standard folders in Outlook. Reminders sync still missing. Shame on Apple for delivering such a nonsens to us.

  • Sync Fail to update iCal and Contacts between iPhone and MacBook

I've recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X Yosemite (10.10.2) and iTunes (12.1.0.50). I am trying to sync my MacBook with my iPhone 5 (iOS 8.2) and iPad mini (iOS 8.2) without iClouds. In iTunes i've selected the All Contacts under Sync Contacts & All Calendars under Sync Calendars. Once again I am not syncing to iClouds but rather manually between the 3 machines. Since I've upgraded, my calendar and contact information is not being synced between the MacBook and iPhone. When executing the sync the process completes cleanly indicating syncing of contacts & calendar was successful. But when checked on iPhone they contacts haven't been updated. Any recommendations?

Simply on the iPhone in the iCloud preferences turn off the contacts sync. It will ask if u wanna delete or not the contacts on the iphone. You answer to leave the Contacts on iphone. After that proceed to delete all contacts from all u're other devices and the iCloud site. A way to do it fast is to deselect the contact sync on icloud options in every device and when asked tell to delete the contacts from device. When u're sure that all other devices contacts are clean turn again on the contacts sync on the iCloud preferences for each device and at last the iPhone. After few the iPhone contacts will be sync to other device so u'll have same Contacts on all device. In this way when u'll made a change on one of u're device all other will have same change.

  • Synching Calendar between iPhone and Outlook 2007

When I make a calendar entry in Outlook 2007 on my PC, it automatically synchs with my iPhone through iCloud.   But when I make a calendar entry in my iPhone, it does not show up in Outlook anymore.  This just started about a month ago.  Under settings, in iCloud, I do have Calendar "ON."   I tried turning off Calendar in iCloud and then turning it back on - when I did that, the PC calendar that was showing there is now gone, and only the iCloud calendar is showing and it is checked.
    Any ideas?   Thanks!

  • Syncing Contacts between iPhone and Macbook

I recently added contacts on both my iPhone and on my Macbook. However, the new contacts placed on the iPhone won't sync to the address book contacts and the contacts on my Macbook won't sync to my iPhone. How can I go about resolving this problem?

Assuming you have sync contacts with the Address Book selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, try resetting the sync history on your Mac. This is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application if your Mac is not running Lion.

  • Help with contacts between iphone and address book

I am learning my way through the syncing activities and will say, as some other have, that it is a bit more complicated than I had hoped. I've had a mac for over 20 years and used the older mac.com, which I would sync with my computer. I did not renew it when I found I wasn't using it for the cost.
I recently got my first iphone and had the contacts moved from my old cell phone by AT&T when I bought it.
I have a lot of contacts in my imac's address book and I do not want to move all of them to my iphone. Some are just historical in case I want to email that person. For my iphone, I just want the contacts I use most often.
So, in address book, I made a new group and named it iphone contacts. In this I have about 20 cnotacts with email addresses.
On my iphone, I have many of these same people listed, but just their phone numbers as I did not send emails from my previous wireless phone.
    So my questions are:
is there any way to get the two to combine via syncing? I want to keep the phone numbers in the iphone contacts and combine them with the email addresses that are in my address book on the imac. I would like to avoid having to open them both and do a lengthy copy and paste event But unless there is some way to tell the lists to combine with each other, on the iphone and in the group list I made in address book that I name iphone contacts, than that is what I'll do. But I thought it was worth a query here to see what options I might have.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Bump, I did not get any replies to my query if there was a way to combine my iphone numbers in my cell phone contacts with email addresses in a group list in my imac's address book via syncing, so I am wondering if anyone knows if there is an app that might help me.
    Thank you in advance.

  • How to Sync contacts between iPhone and Mac pro using iCloud?

Like many other people i have set up both my iphone and my Macbook Pro 13' on the same icloud account and yet my contacts on my phone are not transfering over to my computer propperly? They usually dont go on at all or they go on but not fully. (ie: cell number missing, or email is missing.) This has frustrated me ever since icloud came out, and i have ended up emailing every single one of my contacts from my phone to myself so that i can get them on my computer. If anybody has had this problem or has any suggestions i would be happy to hear.

Depends how you sync.  If using iCloud, set it in the iCloud settings on the phone.  If syncing with iTunes, set in on the Info page of your divice in iTunes

  • HT1296 Syncing issues between iPhone and Outlook contacts

I'm trying to sync my Outlook 2010 contacts with my iPhone (iOS6.1.3) using iTunes (11.0.1.12).  I no longer have the option under the iTunes Info tab to "Sync contacts from" so I can't select Outlook.  At one point, it was there. It now states that the contacts are being synced with iPhone over the air from iCloud, but I have no other options or way to change this.  What can be done to fix this?  Thanks.

Problem solved- I needed to uncheck the option under Settings/iCloud on the iPhone to sync the contacts with iCloud.  With this turned off, I get the option again to sync with Outlook under the Info tab in iTunes.

  • Unable to Merge Contacts between iPhone4 and Outlook

I am using Outlook 2007. I typically update contact information on my iPhone since it's always with me. I did this with my iPhone 3GS and did not notice any problems syncing. I cleaned up my address book, removing any duplicates, in Outlook. Not sure if it's the iPhone4 or version of itunes, but when I sync my contacts I'm not given the option to "merge" data. The sync seems to respond in one of two ways. 1) Overwriting my updated contact information on the iPhone4.
So I lose my new contact info.
    2) Creating a new (duplicate)contact instead of updating the
    existing contact information in Outlook.
Can someone tell me if my settings are wrong? Itunes only gives you the option of "replace information on device" or "replace information on computer".
Please advise. You help is appreciated.

When syncing iPhone contacts with a supported address book application on your computer the first time - if your iPhone already includes at least one contact and the same with the supported address book application on your computer, you are provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data. After the initial merge in this situation, the sync process for this data should be a bidirectional or true sync process between your iPhone contacts and the supported address book application on your computer. There won't be another merge prompt and there shouldn't need to be.
iTunes give one option in this regard - replace contacts on your iPhone with what is available in the supported address book application on your computer. After doing this, the sync process between the two should be a bidirectional or true sync process.
Try resetting the sync history on your computer, which is done via iTunes preferences under the Devices tab.
