SYS.UTL_FILE does not exists...
Hi!
I use 'utl_file.fopen' in a PL/SQL Package. It works fine with ORACLE 8.1.7 and now with ORALCE 9.2 it breaks.
First I have create a directory 'UTL_FILE_TMP' and grant it to the PL/SQL user.
At the code 'v_file := utl_file.fopen('UTL_FILE_TMP',v_name, 'a');' I get the ORAERR 04067 --> SYS.UTL_FILE does not exists...
Have I install the package seperatly and when yes, how can I do?

I really doubt that you have a directory called UTL_FILE_TMP, "C:\UTL_FILE_TMP" on a winows machine, "u01/UTL_FILE_TMP" on a unix machine I can believe, but a volume labeled "UTL_FILE_TMP", I don't You MUST have the full directory path the the directory and the directory MUST be writable by the user (typically oracle) that is running the database code.

Configured source directory does not exist
Hi Guys,
I had configured a sender file adapter and when i check the CC monitoring it gives the message : Configured source directory '/usr/sap/NRD/SYS/global' does not exist. But the directory is in the AL11 of R/3 application server. Iam using the NFS in the File Adapter Communication channel.
Can anyone throw some light reagrding the error.
Thanks,
Kittu.Kittu,
1. With NFS , XI server can acccess only folders available on its OWN local path. It cannot access the Path of your R3 machine. The XI server is looking for the path on its own directories and it is not finding the same.
One option is to mount your Drive on the XI server to some folder. Not something I
would recommend thought.
2. The better thing to do would be,
a) place the file on the XI 's some folder ( you would need a local directory access to the server) or some program to upload the file to the server.
b ) Use FTP. Look into this blog by Shabrish for how to set up a FTP ion your Local Desktop and make XI access the same,

Table does not exist for the sys user
Hey Everyone,
I am having a strange problem with 10G 10.2. I keep getting the table does not exist for all the tables when I am logged in as sys. It is strange because I can query the same tables being logged in as a regular user say 'scott'. I can't figure out what the problem is since it could not be privileges because the user is sys. Is there something I am missing here. Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks,
SarangYeah i am using the query....
SELECT * FORM SCOTT.EMP
It is a little wierd. I did a full database restore yesterday night. I dont know if that has anything to do with this. Will have to take a look at the logs. -
Utl_file.file_type / ora01041:hostdef does not exist
Hello all,
I have got a problem with ora01041:hostdef does not exist.
My package compiles well untill he reaches a procedure with an declaration with the utl_file.
I get above error and Oracle terminates unexpectedly.
The stranges thing is that this only happens when executed in batch.
When I start SQL and then execite this part of the procedure everything goes well.
Help!!!After disabling Contribute compatability I changed the name
of the site root and renamed it so that it is not the same as what
is found on the remote server. I am still receiving the error
message, even after the name change and re-applying Contribute
compatability. It should not ... not... be this difficult.
When I uploaded an html file from the local site (on my PC)
to the server (an a different device) i received this error
message. I checked the server and there IS a contribute.xml file
within the _mm directory within the remote site structure. The date
and time stamp on the contribute.xml file within the _mm folder
indicates that it (the contribute.xml file) was indeed updated
today (at the same time as the html file being uploaded). Therefore
it shows that the file IS being located, recognized, updated and
saved with a new date/time stamp. It is not missing. That makes me
question the validity of the response received to this inquiry.
Also, the response is proactive in nature. It indicates what
should not be done in advance of creating a site. The response does
not provide the steps necessary to resolve the error once it has
occured.
Any other suggestions or do I just have to live with this
flaw in the software? This is really, really annoying as I have to
be sure to click No each time a file is uploaded and the error
message is received. Do I have to remove Contribute from my PC and
all files from the server that are Contribute related and reinstall
Contribute? Re-create all user profiles? I've had to do that with
another problem that I had with a different site that used
Contribute, all to no avail. in that case the only (only) way I
could get a specific end user set up and working in Contribute was
to make them an administrator (which is not acceptable though we
are living with *that* condtion as well). I am quickly losing
confidence in this product! -

Hey Guys, it's Xev.
I decide to use SQL and XML and it works in one scenario, but in another scenario, it doesn't.
Here is the Code, I am passing in two variables, First, I pass in the table_name and then i pass in the schema.
If I am doing this with the "user" connected and it's looking in it's own schema, it's find the results, like so, but if i try to execute this code while not
connected to the same user i am searching on i get this error.
ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

*Cause: An error occurred when processing the XML function
*Action: Check the given error message and fix the appropriate problem
This code works only of you are connected to the user that you are searching on.
But if you search for another user tables, it's blows up and gives the XML error above...
SET SERVEROUTPUT ON
exec DBMS_OUTPUT.ENABLE(1000000);
VAR search_string VARCHAR2(28)
EXEC :search_string := '^[0-9]{3}-[0-9]{2}-[0-9]{4}$'
COLUMN "Searchword" FORMAT A28
COLUMN "Table" FORMAT A9
COLUMN "Column/Value" FORMAT A50
SELECT DISTINCT SUBSTR (:search_string, 1, 28) "Searchword",
SUBSTR (table_name, 1, 14) "Table",
SUBSTR (t.column_value.getstringval (), 1, 50) "Column/Value"
FROM dba_tab_cols,
--where owner = ('&SCHEMA_NAME')

(DBMS_XMLGEN.GETXMLTYPE
( 'SELECT ' || column_name ||
' FROM ' || table_name ||

).extract ('ROWSET/ROW/*'))) t
--WHERE table_name IN ('FIND_TEST')
WHERE table_name = upper('&TABLE_NAME')
AND OWNER = upper('&SCHEMA_NAME')
ORDER BY "Table"
Can someone please explain how (DBMS_XMLGEN) works, and why it's throwing that error??
thanks,
Xev.It has nothing to do with DBMS_XMLGEN.GETXMLTYPE. It simply means user executing your SQL has no select privilege on table &SCHEMA_NAME.&TABLE_NAME.

SarayuAccording to the documentation:
SEED_COL_USAGE ProcedureThis procedure iterates over the SQL statements in the specified SQL tuning set, compiles them and seeds column usage information for the columns that appear in these statements.
Syntax
DBMS_STATS.SEED_COL_USAGE (
sqlset_name IN VARCHAR2,
owner_name IN VARCHAR2,
time_limit IN POSITIVE DEFAULT NULL);>
It looks like you need to provide a SQLSET_NAME and OWNER_NAME to use this procedure correctly, to which you've provided NULLs. I don't see any exceptions in the documentation that indicate special processing when NULLs are provided. -

Mohamad Firhad SamuriHi Mohamad,
Your cds logs shows different errors however i have few questions here in terms of troubleshooting.
1. Any search listings worked earlier or it never worked ?
2. Have you properly imported the abap add-ons and transport pack ?
3. Do you have any customizations in listings ?
4. TREX is working fine, please confirm with Basis
5. Have you imported and exported the build ?

ORA-23401: materialized view ""SYS"".""MV_OPTIONS"" does not exist
Oracle 11gR1
Linux Red Hat 6.3
I have never seem this object SYS.MV_OPTIONS before much less know why it would be missing. Any ideas?
I can no longer refresh my materialized views.Process worked fine until the addition on new MVs.
What causes error?
Running SP that calls DBMS_MVIEW.refresh. Here is the error in more detail...
"ORA-23401: materialized view ""SYS"".""MV_OPTIONS"" does not exist
ORA-06512: at ""SYS.DBMS_SNAPSHOT"", line 2545
ORA-06512: at ""SYS.DBMS_SNAPSHOT"", line 2751
ORA-06512: at ""SYS.DBMS_SNAPSHOT"", line 2720
What has been changed?
Added new materialized views to my instance that need periodic refreshing.
Note: Running the block below works fine ....
begin
DBMS_MVIEW.refresh('MV_MINE');
end;
I suspect something in the process that calls this function is the issue (of course). But I still wonder what the object SYS.MV_OPTIONS is/does? -
SYS.DBMS_SYS_SQL and table or view does not exist
I have a stored procedure that has dynamic SQL with a CURSOR and I am now getting the following error:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_SQL", line 909
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SQL", line 39
ORA-06512: at "SOMEUSER.USP_RENAME_LOCATION", line 38
ORA-06512: at line 1
Here is the code in the stored proc where the error is occuring (line 39 is the PARSE):
dynamic_cursor := DBMS_SQL.OPEN_CURSOR;
dynamic_cursor2 := DBMS_SQL.OPEN_CURSOR;
DBMS_SQL.PARSE(dynamic_cursor,
'UPDATE SOMEUSER.' || table_var || ' SET ' ||column_var || ' = ''CBE''' || ' WHERE ' ||column_var || ' = ''MI''',DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);Can anyone shed any light on why I might be getting the error?
I am running the proc as the SOMEUSER user who is the owner of all the tables. Should the SOMEUSER user have any special permissions to the SYS objects?
I have seen threads discussing explicit grants in conjunction to ROLE permission. The SOMEUSER user has all roles including DBA.
Very confused???
Thanks in advance,
MillerI resolved the issue...
It was not related to SYS objects at all....
The query being constructed began using some non existent tables in the result set so they would not work.
I added EXCEPTION block to the execution and all is well.
BEGIN
var_update_string := 'UPDATE SOMEUSER.' || table_var || ' SET ' ||column_var || ' = ''CBE''' || ' WHERE ' ||column_var || ' = ''MI''';
DBMS_SQL.PARSE(dynamic_cursor, var_update_string, DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);
var_status := DBMS_SQL.EXECUTE(dynamic_cursor);

Calling a remote enabled function module which does not exist in caller sys
Hi,
I have a a system ABC from which I am trying call a rfc enabled fm(Test) present in system XYZ.
The fm(Test) does not exist in the system ABC so I am getting generation errors and dumps.
Is there a way for me to call these remote enabled function modules which does not exist in the caller system without the obvious errors etc.
Is there any special way.
ThanksHi,
please check this sample:
REPORT zcallfm .
DATA: xv_return TYPE sysubrc.
CALL FUNCTION 'DOESNOTEXIST'
DESTINATION 'NOWHERE'
EXPORTING caller = sy-sysid
IMPORTING return = xv_return
EXCEPTIONS system_failure = 1
communication_failure = 2
OTHERS = 4.
It shouldn't throw any generation errors in your system!

Hello All,

To create the pared down version, we used empty files for:

We don't think these being empty is the problem, but I wanted to mention it just incase it is.
Below is the dev_w0 log. I've been searching Google / SDN / OSS for some of the errors but haven't come up with anything yet.
Any insight you might have into this would be appreciated. Thank you.

you are having definetely other issues, than the ones that might be caused by clrpfm of the tables above ...
But, based on that data, I do not know which ones ;-(
There are dynpro tables like dynpload or d3456t or so not proper ...
