T440s UltraNav Touchpad Scroll Too Fast and Jerky

Wife purchased a T440s in November.  Arrived December.  I installed Windows 8.1 from scratch, and it worked.  Then on Friday, Jan 31st 2014, I ran the driver update tool from Lenovo.  It upgraded the driver to 17.0.12.60.  She noticed that scrolling became much more unreliable.  She could sometimes not get docs/webpages to scroll until she clicked around the page.  Then she could get scrolling to work again.  Also, scrolling speeds increased _dramatically_ to the point it was unusable.  Also, the scrolling was quite jerky.  So I rolled the driver back to 17.0.12.56 and immediately she noticed a difference.  She was able to successfully scroll again and scrolling wasn't too fast and much smoother.
Others have noticed this on Notebook Review's forum.  I'm going to ask those people to come here and add their comments.
Can Lenovo please fix the UltraNav driver?  Thanks!

Yes, I experienced the same problem. Two finger scrolling became unusable (way too fast and erratic) after an upgrade to UltraNav 17.0.12.60. Reverting back to 17.0.12.56 fixed the issue.
Please fix this in the next version. Thank you!

Why does elements 12 organizer on new mac scrolls too fast and jumps all over?

I have found this to be a problem as well. Like other products, the scroll speed should start slow, and only speed up if the user moves the cursor further outside the panel.

  • IPhoto 6 scrolls too fast

When I reorganize a thumbnail in an album it scrolls too fast to put it where I want. In some cases I can resize the thumbnails so I don't have to scroll. But some times I have too many photos in the album to do that.
Any one else have this problem?
    Any solution?

Yuck ... this has also been a problem in iPhoto 5. I see the same insane scrolling whether I'm drag-and-dropping one roll into another, or some photos from one roll into another. Still looking for a solution -- can we just modify a property in a plist or xml file of iPhoto? Larry.

  • Down scroll too fast?

I used to think it was just Aperture, but I noticed it today in the Character Map when scrolling, I tap on the down arrow button and sometimes I do something where the systematic tapping process is overridden by some super speed motion and the contents start scrolling rapidly, way too fast and all by themselves.
I find this really annoying, have I got sticky keys on or something? I would like this to stop, is it possible?

You can set Scroll Speed from your >System Preferences>Trackpad>Scrolling Speed.

How can I fix corrupted audiobooks category--plays too fast and is gravelly? Other music categories are unaffected..

On the audio book (and podcast) playing screen there is a playback speed selector. It is the box on the right hand side of the screen right below the scrubber bar. It say either 1/2X, 1X or 2X, the playback speeds. Tap the box to cycle through the playback speeds.

  • Slides in Navigator scroll too fast

Dragging slides in Navigator to reorder my slides is nearly useless on my setup, as the slides scroll way, way too fast. Unless I have lightning quick reflexes, I find myself at the top or bottom of my presentation within a fraction of a second. Moving the slide to exactly where I want it is out of the question.
Anyone else had this problem or found a solution? I use a mouse. I don't have problems with scrolling in other applications. Changing system-wide prefs did not change this.
    Many thanks / Matt

I guess that Macbook is a lot snappier than my G5. I'd like that kind of problem. You can always grab the slider to the right of the slide and drag it where you want it as slow or fast as you wish.

  • Lion mouse scroll speed scrolling too fast

System Pref > Mouse > Scrolling Speed is set to the slowest level and it is still way too fast!  Heard others complaining about this on a Parallels discussion group and thought I would post here.  Incease the range of scrolling sensitivity in an update please!  Reply to this post if you are having the same issue.
Scrolling was always way to fast in leopard when using Iphoto, but this with Lion it is too fast everywhere else except for huge files.

I suppose you are using a non-Apple mouse. You will need to update the software, and adjust the tracking multiplier within the software.
Logitech just came out with an update for Lion.

  • Parallax scrolling too fast outside of Muse preview

I'm trying to get the hang of parallax scrolling, but how it previews with Muse differs greatly from any actual browser.
I export the HTML file, it pops open in Chrome and looks great. But if I try to open the HTML file from the folder into Chrome, or preview the site after it's uploaded to the web, suddenly the scrolling is way too fast. Everything disappears with one flick of the mouse scroll wheel. It also happens in Firefox and IE.
I've tried importing scripts, but again, it effects the Muse preview, but not the actual site in the end.
Is this a common problem? How should I approach to work around this?
    Thanks!
I'm using the latest version of Muse. Chrome is up to date. I am on a Windows 7 computer.

    Hi,
This is an odd issue. Please provide your site URL to test it. You can publish a trial site on Business Catalyst.

  • Scrolling Too fast

Hi, the scrolling speed of all the web pages in Firefox is too fast. With other browsers there's no issue. I'm using the device
"Micromax A177". It runs on jelly bean. And it's not rooted, if that info is required. I love to use Firefox on my mobile. But this issue is bothering me so much.
    Thanks in advance.
P.S. by too fast I mean just by a single swipe I will reach the end of the web page which usually takes not less than 5 to 7 swipes on chrome

hi Dinesh013, i guess that's a bit of a matter of preference - some people might prefer to be able to scroll through a page with a single gesture. however the speed of scrolling should be adaptive of the speed of your swiping gesture...

  • Just updated Firefox, not sidebar scrolls too fast.

I just updated Firefox. Now when I hold down the vertical scrolling arrow at the bottom right of the page it scrolls faster than it used to. It's too fast. How do I slow this down?

There are extensions that work both for the mouse and the keyboard to set the scroll amount, but they can only be set to scroll an amount of pixels and not to scroll one line regardless of font-size (height) of the text.

  • Scrolling too fast with Asus touchpad.

I have a problem when scrolling down pages using two fingers on my touch pad.
I have installed Asus Smart Gestures and enabled "two finger scrolling" and it works fine in every program except Firefox. In Firefox it is being really frustrating, when i try to scroll down i move my fingers barely a millimeter and it scrolls down several pages almost instantly. It is being impossible to do anything in Firefox.
Is there an option where i can adjust sensitivity?

hello milanpandurov, you could either try to tweak the scrolling settings for firefox with an extension like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/yet-another-smooth-scrolling or generally disable smooth scrolling in firefox > options > advanced > general & see if this is making a difference...

  • Touchpad scrolling blazing fast in KF5 apps

I noticed that the touchpad two-fingers vertical scrolling is extremely fast in kf5 apps, e.g.: kate.
I also noticed the same issue in the Plasma 5 UI, e.g.: when scrolling over the kmix systray icon to increase/decrease the volume (on the other hand the scroling speed is fine "inside" the kmix app)
The scrolling speed is fine in all other apps, including KDE apps not yet ported to KF5 (e.g.: dolphin).
I tried changing with the touchpad kcm but it does not seem to have any effect (whatever the value the speed is always super fast). I also tried to remove the rc file for the touchpad in .confing, with no luck.
Anybody else with the same issue?
Is there something like a global setting for the X server that can override KDE settings?

Hi, I'm having the same problem too and, as Wu already said, nothing seems to work (and this is particularly annoying in kate when you need to open a file with thousands of lines). However, while I was searching for a solution, I just noted that changing the scroll speed in the mouse kcm module partially works also for KF5 applications:
Open the KF5 application you need to use (kate for example)
While the application is running, execute the command
    kcmshell5 mouse
and switch to the tab Advanced
Set the mouse to scroll 1 line at time
If it is already set to scroll 1 line at time, then change it to another value (2 lines for example), apply the setting and set it back to 1 line at time
Finally apply the settings and close the kcm module. Now the scroll speed should be slower
The strange thing is that scroll setting lasts until the application is closed, so the procedure must be repeated every time you restart the application: can anyone else confirm this behaviour?

  • HT4759 Chrome scrolls too fast

When I access iCloud Mail in Chrome the reading pane scrolls or bounces down faster than I can read it and it does not stop.  Is there a fix?

  • Navigator scroll too fast - cannot move folders

Does anyone know if there is an answer to this.
I am trying to move a couple of hundred folders from my normal hard drive to an external disc (Windows XP).
LR does not give you the option of moving more than one folder at a time which ise tedious enough, but when dragging a folder down the navigator pane it moves so fast, however carefully I do it, that I cannnot locate the target folder except with good luck, but have to hunt back and forth.
Is there some way of slowing the scroll down?
Or is there another way? Eg if I moved the folders outside of LR in Windows Explorer - which only take seconds - how do I get LR to recatalogue the moved files and delete the missing ones?

You can move the folders in Win Explorer.
In LR you then get question marks besides the folders - a sign that LR does not know where the folders are (if you really moved and did not only copy in Explorer).
Simply right-click the folders with the question mark and point LR to the new location.
It is enough if you do this for the top-most folder in the hierarchy, LR will then find all the sub-folders.
