Table Component and Row Height

I am using XCelsius 4.5 and using the table component.  Is there anyway the row height on the table component can be linked to the Excel file?  It is not dynamically changing or wrapping text based on the amount of data that is imported in.

Judging from the stack trace this has nothing to do with your variable row height. You are simply not respecting some array bounds (maybe your data array for the table model) when you insert the new row.
In newRouteFare() do you fire a tableRowsInserted event? Or something similar? Check the rows passed into the Event object to see if you are exceeding the limits of the current table model.

  • How feed many record in table component and not use append command again

    hi master
    How I feed Multiple records in table component and not use append and save command again and again
    Same as oracle grid
    I give many record and save one time
    Please give me idea how I add Multiple record and save one time not use append and save command again and again
    Thanks
    aamir

    Hi!
    appendRow() method just add temporal row. For add them to DB commitChanges() method should be used. So you can use appendRow() method several times, fill every new row and only then use commitChanges() method. In this case all new rows will be added to DB per one time.
    Thanks,
    Roman.

  • Interactive Report Column Headings and Row Height

    I am using the div style="width:350px;" method to control the width of columns in various interactive reports. That works fine except for the following:
    1. When creating filters, the <div...> stuff shows up along with the actual column heading, thus confusing some end users
    2. Even when I uncheck the "Use same text for single row view" checkbox and then provide a simple single row view label, the <div> stuff still shows up on the single row view
    Does anyone have a better solution?
    Also, does anyone know of a way to limit the row height within an interactive report row? I have some columns of data that contain a large amount of HTML data and I'd like to be able to limit the number of rows that show on the report.
    Is Oracle planning to provide some better control over the Interactive Report columns in another version? The Interactive Report is such a huge improvement in usability in APEX - it would be great to take it to another level by providing some better control over column width and row height.

    Dale,
    Unfortunately we don't have much we can use to do what you would like. I would have said it's impossible until version 4 but you could actually do something similar to what Roel has done. His trick is in the edit button. He changed the edit button to use an "onload" call to a JavaScript process. You could do the same but call a process that goes across the rows and styles each column. Now because you don't have a way to identify the column (can't use the order because the end user could change it) you'll have to write the code to look at the top row first and then style the appropriate column. As far as I can tell, this would be quite difficult and inefficient. Having said that if you need it that bad and would like some help with it, put up an example application on apex.oracle.com and provide the workspace/username/password and I'll take a look.

    Hello, friends! I've hit a snag with ADF Faces Tutorial: ADF Table Component and ADF Binding: Step 7

    Dear All,
    I am fairly new to ADF development too. While following the Tutorial, I selected the "simple" page template. and check the "Create as XML Document (*.jspx). then click "OK", I got a similar SAXParseException exception, however the main.jspx seemed showed up correctly in the "Design" window. Any idea? Thanks a lot.

  • Problem with JDev 10g ADF table component and rangeChangeListener

    Hi,
    I'm populating an ADF table component from a backing bean and would like the range of rows be changed using custom method on the backing bean.
    I have declared table on page as shown below and the table is populated correctly. However the onRangeChanged method in the backing bean never fires when
    user hits previous or next. Any ideas of what I missed ?.
    Thanks,
    Kenneth
    <af:table emptyText="No items were found"
    value="#{companySearchBean.companies}"
    var="company" rows="20"

  • How to fix skewed table columns and rows after re-import XML

    My question is regarding XML Import in InDesign CS3.
    I have a XML that has a table of 5 columns and 5 rows, when I import it into InDesign, the table shows up fine with 5 columns and 5 rows. However when I revise my table to have an additional column, and re-import the XML file, the table gets updated, but instead of with an additional column, it gets 'appended' with an additional row instead (InDesign seems to blindly replace each cell from left to right, top to bottom, and ends up with 6 rows instead). The XML file specifies the number of columns and rows (5 and 5 before, 5 and 6 after), why doesn't InDesign recognize it and automatically add a new column when I re-import the file?  Is this problem fixed in CS5.5? Is there a script to fix this?
    Here is an example of my old XML vs new XML:

    What I mean is, right now there is a "workaround" which requires a user to manually add an extra column before re-importing the XML (with an extra column), otherwise the results get skewed. If by providing a script we can simply ask the user to "run" it, it would be a more "acceptable" solution.
    Right. So, one solution would be to use Convert Text to Tables. If you find that works for you, then you can script it.
    That's why I asked you...
    Of course if nothing is required from the user other than simply re-importing, then that would be the best solution.
    Well, one could imagine a script that was attached to the re-import command, or to the link update notification, but probably the first step is to get something that works reasonably well without automating it completely. Especially because triggers to run scripts silently can introduce hard-to-debug problems.
    Sure we can switch to use "CALS table and see if this works. The question is, why should we need to? In the 2nd XML there is clearly a different "aid:tcols" value, and yet InDesign seems to ignore it and assume the same # of columns? This sounds like an Indesign bug, can someone confirm? Is there any plans to fix this?
    Not to be snarky, but do you want it to work or not? There are the tools you have and the tools you wish you had, and you can't really do much with the ones you wish you had. I'm kind of assuming you are looking for a solution today, not a solution in 2013.
    Yes,  I believe two of us have confirmed this appears to be a bug.
    Plans to fix? Well, we can't really tell you. You could try asking Adobe, but that's not easy information to get out. But you can certainly open a support case at http://adobe.com/go/supportportal and ask. It's not like we have special information here...
    But you're probably better off filing a bug first, in that same fashion.
    But let's assume no one had filed the bug. CS6 is expected in the March/April 2012 timeframe. That means that they're probably just putting the finishing touches on it right now, and it's going to be very difficult to fix things in it now. So then the earliest you'd likely get it fixed in CS6.5/CS7/whatever which presumably comes out by 2Q2013, and that's assuming Adobe decides to fix it...
    I also can't find much documentation on how to update my table to a "CALS table", any examples?

  • Conditional Text in Table - Problems with row height adjustment

    Hey there,
    I’m german but I try to express my problem in english as good as I can. Not always easy with the different menu names. Hope you get what I want to say! :-)
    As you can see in my attached screenshot, I placed text in a table.
    Text height is set to: minimum 1,5 … so it adjusts to the amount of text.
    This is what I want - it should adjust the height to the marked/aktivated conditional text.
    It always adjusts the hight when I blind out the first line oder lines in between (e.g. line 2+3 of 4).
    But if I want to blind out the last line(s), there is a ¶ at the end and a extra blank line with the #.
    I know, the # stands for the following hidden Text, but why does it work with the red/green text.
    There is also text hidden (green), but the mark # is right after the last word - not in a new line.
    Has anyone a solution for this?
    Thanks in advance!

    That's ok so far. A paragraph sign at the end of a text forces a new line.
    To change that do the following:
    For every condition you need another condition just for the paragraph sign that comes immediately after the condition. Not after every paragraph of one condition, but at the end of every consecutive numbers of paragraphs of the same condition.
    So in your third example you'll need two conditions more:
    1. One for the paragraph sign at the end of condition "meaasurements"
    2. One for the paragraph sign at the end of condition "price 2"
    Whenever you make the other conditions invisible, you also have to turn off the new conditions that only control the paragraph signs.

  • Problems of having a large table (columns and rows).

    hi people,
    can anyone give a list of problems that i will be facing when i have a large table(columns/rows). My table generate 5 lakhs record in a year and it keeps growing.
    if the answers is labourous, pls give the link of the web-site where i can download it.
    How to overcome it?
    Thanks in advance
    Ganapathy

    hi justin
    i understand u problem too.
    10 lakhs in Indian money = 1 million in the US.
    Iam trying to understand a system where there will be millions of record over a period of years. I felt that i need to address the problems that should be forseen before the system is developed(some thing like a priliminary investigation or feasibility study before taking up the project). So as of now i have no idea of the system, but do know that there will be millions of records. Iam trying to prepare a document that addresses these issues and how we are going to circumvent the issues and arrive at a solution.
    Thanks

  • Dynamically adjust table row height based on data in column

    Hi all,
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 and have a requirement for a table to adjust the height of its rows depending on the data in the columns. One of the columns in the table is a rich text description field and I have the 'rows' property set to 13. This field could have twenty lines of text/images or just one. The users would like the page to show all twenty lines of text without having to scroll but the table has the same height for all the rows (that I set to 13) and provides a scroll bar when the data exceeds this size. My users do not like to scroll, and want the height of each row to be determined by the data in it. I looked at a few options and also did a search online, but was unable to find anything to fulfill this requirement. Do you know of how I could change the height of each row in the table so that it fits the data that it holds?
    I have an example of my table at: <b>Table with Set Row Height</b>
    As you see, the picture has to be scrolled so that the whole picture is visible. The user requirement is to adjust the row height to show the full picture. Ideally the next two rows would shrink, but that would be a nice to have.
    Thanks in advance for any pointers or help.

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for replying to my question, I truly appreciate your help.
    I tried to use the autoHeightRows to adjust the height of my rows but was unsuccessful. If I understand the autoHeightRows property correctly, this is used for setting the height of the whole table. If this is incorrect and it can be used for setting the height of individual rows in the table, please correct me. I have the 'Rows' property of the richTextEditor set to 13 and this is the height that I would like to make dynamic based on the data.
    My users requirement is for the height to be big enough for the data in each row of the table (the table has a description column and the height of each row should be determined by the data contained in it). I updated my <u><b>Screen Shot</b></u> to show the desired layout and what is currently being generated though ADF (http://www.flickr.com/photos/87583386@N05/) .
    I have three rows in the example (in actuality these are around 50) and the text in each row can vary. The users would like to see the full text/image in each row without having to scroll each row. Currently my table is within Panel Box, which is inside a PanelGroupLayout-Scroll which is in a PanelStretchLayout. I tried to put the table by itself with the autoHeightRow modifications you suggested but thsi did not help either. I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
    Is this possible with an ADF Table? If it is, is the autoHeight property the only one that I am setting incorrectly? If not, is there another component I can use to get the desired functionality? My users are very strict about this requirement and will not accept the application without this.
    Thanks,

  • How do you have the bottom stroke of a table show up using Table Styles and Cell Styles only?

    I am using InDesign CS6, and I want to create a Table Style that has the bottom stroke show up, but does not have a table border, such as:
    However, whenever I try to change the Table or Cell strokes so that the last stroke shows up, I get the entire table border, or some strange combination of borders:
    Does anyone have any insight on how I can get the bottom stroke to show up while preserving my other stroke properties? Since I work with long documents, it's necessary to be able to control all of my tables through Table Styles and Cell Styles, and not by manually changing each and every table with the Stroke palette.
    For reference, here are the my current Table Style properties and the resulting table:

    Michael Murphy is the InDesign style-meister. He wrote "Adobe InDesign Styles" for Adobe Press, and did a great Lynda.com title on InDesign styling. Here's what he says in the book:
    "As mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, with all the power of table and cell styles, it is important to understand not only how they work and what they can do for you, but also to understand their limitations.
    "Two formatting features missing in table and cell styles have already been discussed: You will always have to set the column width and row height of cells when applying a table style for the first time, and you will always have to convert body rows to header and/or footer rows every time you apply a table style for first time or update the table's data....
    "But there's another kind of limitation that's important to keep in mind as you are designing tables: It is very easy to design a table that cannot be completely defined by a table style. In many cases, you'll need to define an extra cell style or two that lets you complete for formatting. [my emphasis]."
    So I think that's what you have to do: Apply another cell style on top of the cells at the bottom of the table after applying the table style.

  • Jsf data table component + print null cell

    I am using the jsf data table component and binding the column values to a backing bean.
    <h:dataTable binding="#{backing_showDifferences.dataTable2}"
    id="dataTable2">
    <h:column binding="#{backing_showDifferences.userColumn1}"/>
    <h:column binding="#{backing_showDifferences.userColumn2}"/>
    <h:column binding="#{backing_showDifferences.userColumn3}"/>
    </h:dataTable>
    - some code from my showDifferences.java
    HtmlOutputText column1Text = new HtmlOutputText();
    vb =
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{users.uclass}");
    column1Text.setValueBinding("value", vb);
    usercolumn1.getChildren().add(column1Text);
    HtmlOutputText column2Text = new HtmlOutputText();
    vb =
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{users.ue1}");
    column2Text.setValueBinding("value", vb);
    usercolumn2.getChildren().add(column2Text);
    HtmlOutputText column3Text = new HtmlOutputText();
    vb =
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{users.ue2}");
    column3Text.setValueBinding("value", vb);
    usercolumn3.getChildren().add(column3Text);
    ResultSetDataModel dataModel = new ResultSetDataModel();
    dataModel.setWrappedData(rs);
    dataTable2.setValue(dataModel);
    The raw HTML:
    <table id="form1:dataTable2" class="iuptable" border="1">
    <thead>
    <tr>
    <th scope="col">Heading 1</th>
    <th scope="col">Heading 2</th>
    <th scope="col">Heading3</th>
    </tr>
    </thead>
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td>some data in this column</td>
    <td>X</td>
    <td></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>Some more data in this row</td>
    <td>X</td>
    <td></td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    My problem is this...in the raw HTML the <td></td> tag is not formatted nicely on my table output. I have lines around my entire table and each cell within it. When the <td></td> prints there are no lines. I am new to the JSF table data component, but if I were writing some JSP or servlet code I would check that if value was null I would append an &nbsp to the <td> tag (ex. <td>&nbsp</td>) and the table would be formatted properly. The backing bean that I am binding to is pulling the data from a database table...so my sql looks like this:
    SELECT uclass, ue1, ue2 from table1; my problem is when ue1 or ue2 is a null value.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
    the h:dataTable belongs to the JSF Reference Implementation from Sun, not to Oracle ADF Faces. The rendering is within this component set and I suggest to report your issue on one of the SUN forums (http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=427) as we have no handle to e.g. fix an issue if it exists in the component set.

    The default theme is localized. If you look at <Creator-install>/rave2.0/modules/ext/locale
    you should see the localized default theme jars. Not sure which locale you are. You can put your localized jar here. Add the localized jar to your web application via library manager for it to be included in the deployed war file

  • Why can't i change row and column height in tables?

    a mind-boggling problem to be sure. For some odd reason, I can't use the inspector to type in row/column heights for tables. I can use the up/down arrows, but those only work in increments of 1. I can manually adjust them one by one but as soon as I edit text in a different table cell, I have to start all over again. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hi Gerry & Ric
    I had already tried both of your suggestions without any luck but I appreciate the help anyway. I should've been a bit more specific: I can actually type in the column/row height windows, but when I press return or tab, Pages ignores the numbers. I've tried using both the number pad and the regular keyboard numbers and every manner of clicking, enter, tab, control, alt......there must be some setting with my computer that is causing an incompatibility with Pages. Boh!
