Table field sorted automatically

Hi Experts
        I have a field ZTNAM in table ZLIST as primary key.
        Its data type is CHAR.
        Since we set as a primary key, the data sorted automatically in database.
        My requirement is, i need to set the field as primary key but it should not be sorted.
        Is there any option for this, pls help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Rajaram

Add one more primary key in this database table to avoid automatic sorting ,
it should come before ZLIST.
You can use SY_DATUM means todays date for that
reward if useful.

  • Sorting by non-base table fields - Is it possible?

    I have a form with a block that associated with a table.
    There are several base table fields and several non-base table fields displaying information in this block.
    I need to sort the data in this block by non-base table fields.
    Is this possible without rewriting the form so that the block is not associated with a base table, and then manually populating the block?

    This may help you.
    Example
    I have a customer_id in my base table, but I want the data ordered by customer_name which is from another table.
    Answer
    You need to create a function in the database with an associated
    pragma to specify the level of purity of the function
    WNDS (write no database state)
    WNPS (write no package state)
    PRAGMA RESTRICT_REFERENCES(fn_get_dname, WNDS, WNPS);
    Function fn_get_dname (p_empno in number) return varchar2 is
    v_dept_name varchar2(40);
    begin
    select dname into v_dept_name
    from dept, emp
    where dept.deptno = emp.deptno
    and emp.emp_no = p_emp_no;
    return v_dept_name;
    end;
    order by in a block based on the emp table (assuming you want a list of employees by department name)
    order by fn_get_dname(empno), empno

    Hi mark
    You could do the following
    Create a database function on the server,
    The function should return the value that you want to order by.
    In your form update the ORDER BY clause to use the function
    Example:
    Assume you have a block base on the employee table,
    and you want to order by the department name not the department no (The employee table only contains the department no)
    The function will be
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION "TEST_ORDER" (pDEPT_NO NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR2 AS
    DptName VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    SELECT DEPT_NAME
    INTO DptName
    FROM DEPT
    WHERE DEPT_NO = pDEPT_NO;
    RETURN DptName;
    END;
    The form block ORDER BY Clause will be
    TEST_ORDER(DEPT_NO)
    Hope this will solve your problem

  • Table field and structure field

    Hi ,
    I am working on an user exit.
    I have to update a field on the transaction screen DFBATCH-MHD_IO (DFBATCH is a struture).
    Now the same field is defined in table MARA-VFDAT (MARA is a table).
    Now in the user exit function module I have written a code which will update the table field MARA-VFDAT.
    So will the structure field also gets updated automatically since that structure field is same as the table field (only name is different) or I have to explicitly equate table field to structure field.
    Raghu.

    How do you know that DFBATCH-MHD_IO is tied to MARA-VFDAT.   Is there a line of code in the transaction like this.
    MARA-VFDAT = DFBATCH-MHD_IO.
    or
    DFBATCH-MHD_IO = MARA-VFDAT.
    If you are updating MARA-VFDAT from your userexit, and the existing code in the transaction is filling the DFBATCH-MHD_IO from MARA-VFDAT,  then no you shouldn't need to fill it.

  • Dynamic value help for a table field to fill two fields, how to?

    Hi all gurus,
    In SRM 7 I defined a dynamic value help for a single field (ZZ_PROLE_R3) of my header custom table.
    That's the code from WDDOMODIFYVIEW in the webdynpro /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_CT, view V_DODC_CT:
    DATA: lo_tabnode        TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE.
          DATA: lo_tabnode_info   TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_INFO.
          DATA: tab_value         TYPE WDR_CONTEXT_ATTR_VALUE_LIST,
                wa_value          TYPE WDR_CONTEXT_ATTR_VALUE.
          lo_tabnode = wd_context->GET_CHILD_NODE( name = 'THCUS' ). "the custom table node
          lo_tabnode_info = lo_tabnode->get_node_info( ).
          wd_this->GET_VALHELP_ZZ_PROLE_R3( EXPORTING iv_guid = lv_guid
                                            IMPORTING ZZ_PROLE_R3_VALHELP = tab_value ). "this method returns the dyn value table
          lo_tabnode_info->set_attribute_value_set( name = 'ZZ_PROLE_R3'
                                                     value_set = tab_value ).
    The method GET_VALHELP_ZZ_PROLE_R3 dynamically builds the value help table tab_value; such table is made up by two fields:
    value : contains the value of the field
    text   : contains a description of the value
    The above solution works; now I'd like to enhance it. The custom table THCUS contains also a field called ZZ_PROLE_R3_DESC, which represents the description of ZZ_PROLE_R3. It is, exactly, the TEXT field in tab_value.
    So I'd like to do as follows:
    - the user clicks on the search help for ZZ_PROLE_R3 field of the table;
    - the above described value help appears;
    - after the selection, both ZZ_PROLE_R3 and ZZ_PROLE_R3_DESC are filled with the selected couple value - text chosen from the value help.
    Could anyone help me achieving such a behaviour?
    Again, a little request... when I open the above value help dialog box, the window itself has a label "Floorplan Manager application for OIF.." that obviously I'd like to redefine (e.g. "Role selection value help"). Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks in advance

    Chris Paine wrote:
    It seems to me - given that your code is in wddomodifyview that you are trying to have different dropdowns per row
    - I'm not sure where you are populating lv_guid - but I'd guess it is an attribute of the row selected? If it isn't then I can't see any reason that you would do this code in wddomodifyview and not wddoinit.
    Hi Chris and thanks for your help,
    lv_guid is the GUID of the document's header; I need to pass it to the method that populates my value help table because the values in it are derived from some fields on the document. (the situation actually is more complex; there's an RFC call on the backend for which the document is intended for to retrieve the data that populate the value help...).
    I'm quite unexperienced on webdynpro and terminology; if dropdown menus are fixed selection option that appears on a field, I guess this is not my case. I did a pair of screenshot to provide an idea of what the solution by now is, and what "I would like to have":
    [Pre-selection (F4 icon on the field in table)|http://imagebin.ca/view/npIsaqF.html]
    [Value Help popup for the field ZZ_PROLE_R3|http://imagebin.ca/view/8fZUh3T.html]
    [Result by now |http://imagebin.ca/view/3PaqdvE.html]
    [Result I'd like to have.|http://imagebin.ca/view/dExR0J.html]
    Chris Paine wrote:
    However - by your comment on the "value help dialog box" I am guessing you are using an input field? If this is the case then I would strongly suggest that you change/enhance the structure of the context node THCUS (btw, better coding practise to refer to it as wd_this->wdctx_thcus when using the get child node construct) so that you refer to an actual SAP ddic search help, if you then associate in the structure the value and text fields then populating the text field should happen automatically. Also you'd have the nice side effect that your value help dialog would be named after the associated ddic search help.
    Thanks for the code suggestion, I'll apply that. For what concerns the context node THCUS... It is, by standard, a node which I can't explictly find in the context for the view V_DODC_CT. The problem is that ZZ_PROLE_R3 and the corresponding description field ZZ_PROLE_R3_DESC of the table must be filled with data retrieved dynamically @ runtime from the backend. So I guess I can't populate a val help referring to a dictionary table/field; I'd rather do as follows:
    - retrieve what's the target backend for the document (to do so, I have to process the document .. that's why the header guid passed to my method);
    - RFC call to a custom method that extracts possible values for the specific backend;
    - bind the ammissible values to the value help.
    Chris Paine wrote:
    I realise that this is rather a lot - so if you have any specific question please do respond - hopefully I or someone else will be able to clarify.
    Thanks again for your help; additional info as well as code examples would be highly appreciated

  • F4 help for a table field

    hai can any one tell me in detail how to create a search help and attach to the field in the custom table
    bye
    afzal

    hi Afzal ,
       Here you go with the details of creating a search help and attaching it to the custom table :
    Creation of Elementary Search Help:
    The creation of an elementary search help is described below with example.
    1.     Open TCode – SE11 for DDIC objects -> select the radio button for Search helps -> give the name of the search help you want to create, ex – ZSH004.Click on Create .
    2.     In the next screen select the option “ Elementary search help “ .
    3.     Now you need to provide the short text for your search help.
    4.     In the selection method provide the table or view name you want to use for data retrieval. Ex. ZMARA_01.
    5.     Select the dialog type according to your scope, ex. “ display values immediately’.
    6.     Then provide the search help parameters i.e. the interface parameters for the search help .
    7.     The ZMARA_01 table fields MATNR, ERSDA,MHDHB,MHDHT,MHDRZ are provided by selecting the table fields , by doing this the data elements for these fields are automatically copied to the interface from the selection method.
    8.     Now define the type of parameter ( import or export ) here for the selection and return of values in runtime.
    9.     Provide the positions to these parameters to specify how they will be arranged in the hit list display.
    10.      Now save the object in the respective development class and check the same for errors and then activate .Finally the creation of a ESH ( ex: ZSH004 ) is complete and can be used for providing the input help.
    You can test the operation of your search help by clicking F8.
    The appearance of your search help will be like the fig. provided below
    Creation of Collective Search Helps:
    The creation of an elementary search help is described below with example.
    1.     Open TCode – SE11 for DDIC objects -> select the radio button for Search helps -> give the name of the search help you want to create, ex – ZSH005.Click on Create .
    2.     In the next screen select the option “ Collective search help “ .
    3.     Now you need to provide the short text for your search help.
    4.     Select the dialog type according to your scope, ex. “ display values immediately’.
    5.     Then provide the search help parameters i.e. the interface parameters for the search help .
    6.     The ZMARA_01 table fields MATNR, ERSDA,MHDHB are provided by selecting the table fields . Define the types for the parameters of a collective search help by assigning a data element. Enter the name of the data element that describes the contents of the search help parameter in the Data element field.
    7.     In the Definition tab page enter the parameters of the collective search help.
    Select the Imp flag if it is an import parameter. Select the Exp flag if it is an export parameter. Optional-You can assign the parameter a default value in the Default value field.
    8.
    Next, Select the tab “ Included Search help “ and provide the elementary search helps you want to include here . In the current example 2 elementary search helps ZSH004 and ZSH003 are being included.
    9.     Create a parameter assignment between all the included search helps and the collective search help here ( Note that at-least one of the parameter assignment must be done for linking the includes ) .This can be done by clicking on the tab
    10.     “Parameter assignment “ .ex. we have done the parameter assignment here by using the MATNR field for both the includes i.e. the selection paths should be based on the provided material number.
    11.     After performing the steps save the search help and activate for use in the later stage.

    Ranjita

    Hi All,
    In my internal table there is a field for long text(free text/string), when i using GUI_UPLOAD the field max char is 255, so i couldnt get the full text, eventhough i declared that particular long text as string. Can any one tell me how to get the free text.
    And i am uploading data from presentation server, not from app server.
    Thanks in advance.

    You have to cook your own logic. But what is the reason for not sorting the table?
    If you do not want to disturb the main intrenal table, you can move the contents into a temporary internal table, and sort it by descending order. The first record would have the maximum value.
    here is a logic to find the maximum value.
    loop at itab.
    if itab-value > v_max.
    v_max = itab-value.
    endif.
    endlop.
    V_max would have the maximum value at the end lo the loop.

    Although the "30EA1 - SQL-Developer 3.0.02 Table Data Sort Order Bug" still exists in 30EA2, there is a new substantial mistake.
    How to see it:
    Open table1 (Preference "Automatically Freeze Object Viewer Windows" is set). Click data.
    Open table2. Click data.
    Go back to table1. Click Sort. => You see the columns of table2. The is no way to sort table1, before you close the table2 window (tab).

    example..if i have 3 fields im my table..my selection screen should have three selection option fields..and in future if i add one more field in my table it should automatically create another slection-option in selection screen..
    thanks
    Sudheer

    Do you mean like SE16 works. If so, you should notice that if you  amend the selection fields, the screen program is actually re-generated.
    That is what is happening. A program is being created and re-generated.
    To create a dynamic selection screen in a single program is not possible ( I may be wrong ). If it is possible, then you would have problems in defining selection screen field names and using them.

  • How to find table & fields of standard InfoObject?

    Hi
    How to find table & fields of standard InfoObject for creating generic DataSource?
    e.g. I want to know the table & field of 0MAINTPOS infoObject.

    You can get the list of tables involved in a particular DS by using the below method ( this another approach)
    --> RSA3 -- enter your DS ( execute later)
    --> Goto Tcode ST05 --> switch on the SQL Trace
    --> now execute the extract checker in RSA3.once done switch off(deactivate) the SQL trace.
    --> in st05 screen you can find the button "Display Trace" -- execute (here make sure SQL trace button is enabled.
    --> from the menu bar -->Trace list-->  select "combined table accesses".
    --> it will display the tables involved in it -- check for TABLE names section.... select that row Table names -- click on filter button --press F4 -- here we go it will display the list of entire tables involved in the extraction activity... here you need to sort the tables which are related to your DS.

  • Attaching search help to SCREEN FIELDS AND TABLE FIELDS

    Hello experts,
    Himanshu here.
    Could you please explain how we can assign search Help to a screen field AND TABLE FIELDS in ABAP?
    Please reply at the earliest,as we have some deliverables to be met
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, select object class Search help, enter the name of the search help and choose Create.
    A dialog box appears in which you must select the type of search help.
    Select Collective search help and choose .
    The maintenance screen for collective search helps is displayed.
    Enter an explanatory text in the field Short text.
    You can for example find the search help at a later time using this short text.
    In the Definition tab page enter the parameters of the collective search help.
    Select the Imp flag if it is an import parameter. Select the Exp flag if it is an export parameter.
    Define the types for the parameters of a collective search help by assigning a data element. Enter the name of the data element that describes the contents of the search help parameter in the Data element field.
    You can assign the parameter a default value in the Default value field.
    In exceptions it could be necessary to change the standard process defined by the search help. You can implement the deviation from the standard using a search help exit.
    In this case enter the name of the search help exit in the corresponding field.
    On the Included search helps tab page, define the search helps that you want to include in the collective search help.
    You can include elementary search helps and collective search helps.
    Use the Hide flag to control whether an included search help should appear in the dialog box for selecting the elementary search help. If the flag is set, the search help is not offered.
    It makes sense to hide search help inclusions if one or more search paths in the standard system should not be used in a concrete R/3 System. Similarly, search help inclusions can also be already hidden in the standard system because they only can be used meaningfully in a few R/3 Systems. You have to cancel the flag in this case.
    Position the cursor one after the other on each allocated search help and choose Parameter assignment.
    In the next screen, enter the parameter names of the elementary search helps to which the corresponding parameters of the collective search help should be assigned in the field Reference parameter.
    You can select the parameters contained in the included search help using the input help. Create a proposal for the assignment with Proposal.
    Save your entries.
    A dialog box appears in which you have to assign a development class to the search help.
    Choose .
    Result
    The collective search help is activated. You can find information about the activation flow in the activation log, which you can display with Utilities ® Activation log. If errors occurred when the collective search help was activated, the activation log is automatically displayed.
    Do not forget to link the search help to a screen field. The search help attachment is not part of the search help definition; it is part of the object definition to which the search help is attached.

    veeresh.

  • Database Table Fields Display - Alpha only?

    When you are working with dynamic sites, and have the
    database tables interface open.. if you click a table, the fields
    come up in alphabetic order, rather than table order. This is very
    different than most tools. Is there a way to disable the
    alphabetizing and just show the table fields in table order (i.e
    keys first, etc) ??
    Thanks/

    Hi Swarna
    Try this code.
    DATA:
    T_ITAB LIKE TABLE OF ZTABLE,
    FS_ITAB LIKE LINE OF T_ITAB,
    WA_ITAB TYPE ZTABLE-REVIEW_CYCLE .
    SELECT * FROM ZTABLE INTO TABLE T_ITAB.
    SORT T_ITAB DESCENDING BY REVIEW_CYCLE .
    READ TABLE T_ITAB INTO FS_ITAB INDEX 1.
    MOVE FS_ITAB-REVIEW_CYCLE TO WA_ITAB.
    LOOP AT T_ITAB INTO FS_ITAB.
      IF FS_ITAB-REVIEW_CYCLE EQ WA_ITAB.
        WRITE:/
           FS_ITAB-REVIEW_CYCLE ,
           FS_ITAB-REVIEW_STEP,
           FS_ITAB-GUID.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.

  • Material master table/field that can store a value that indicates the sales

    Hello Gurus....
    My Client is looking for a material master table/field that can store a value that indicates the sales volume (quantity) of a material. If the sales volume of a material falls within the top 80% of the total sales volume, then the material will have an indicator of "A", 15% will be "B", bottom 5% will be "C". Business wants to use this field to drive the automatic putaway into different pick zones.
    We cannot use ABC Analysis field (MARC-MAABC) or CC phys.in.ind. (MARC-ABCIN) since they are used for ABC analysis and cycle count based on value, nor volume. Using these fields will limit our future use of the true SAP functionality.
    field in Purchasing view in the material master called Mfg Part Profile. However, this is also against the original functionality of the field.
    Other than, this any other field we can use it? or the only option is to do a custom field?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi
    I think the only option is to have a custom field.
