Table PBED - Change in Period indicator

We have a few materials where the master data was wrongly maintained : the period indicator was set to M instead of P. Due to this setting, the data is stored in PBED using Date type 2 instead of 4.
We have corrected the material master but we are not able to correct the planned independent requirement's date type 2 and the Period to planning tables.
This is causing a lot of issues in our Customer service reporting and a numebr of other reports.
Please help
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

KB,
Why not try deleting the existing PIR and create a new PIR? Its only a suggestion, please try this is in a non-production system before doing in production system.

  • Period Indicator in MRP3

    hii all,
just i am looking two tables  MVER and MARC and material master for a material. smth is not clear , plz clarify  with the reason.why its coming like this?
In MMR, Period Indicator 'M'  is maintained. now m watching the MARC table , there also Period indicator is showing against my ABC Plant, but in MVER table  this material is not shwoing.
    thanks in advance.
    Nisha

    >  In  the MVER  table, i get message : Material doesnt exist" i thoght if its not consumed, it will show with Zero value.
    > can u tell me smth more abt this table, in my sytem, it shows 13 periods of Tot.consumption  .
    >        can u tell  me also wht will be impact if i change the period indicator from Initial to M.
    Hi Nisha,
Period indicator is the key for defining the record formation for Consumption Data of a particular material. This indicator when set to M, W, T, Initial or K it will store the data accordingly which updates the tables S031 (values with period indicator) S033 (without period indicator) in this table you will get date wise consumption records.
The relevancy is from OMJJ, entries in Consumption Posting for a particular Mvt Type (You can check here too!!)
Basically, if you set the period indicator, this will have to do with the Fiscal Year variant (if you define) which will split the consumption data as per the periods available in the FY variant. If its M for example, it will split the consumption data in 12 (per fiscal month) and stores the data accordingly (if at all your period is the initial period)
In the case if you change the period indicator, the consumption records in the Additional data field will be reset to zero.
If you set the period indicator to initial (Blank) then the current period will be treated as the initial period and the previous records are zeroed in the Additional Data (You can check in MRP-3 view Additional Data)
You can check the contents of S031 & S033 tables to have more clarification!!!
    Cheers!

  • Period indicator in SLED of batch of material

    hello,
I have question, where can i see if the plant is link when i change the Period indicator of SLED of my material, because when i make a Production Order, and indicate the batch where the material should came from in the General tab of PO there exist Specific data that show the shelf life exp. date of a material i want it to be populated by the shelf life of the batch of my material. currently the Period indicator of SLED is D (Daily-19.05.2009) i change it into M (monthly-05.2009) but in the Specific Data view in PO it still show format 19.05.2009, where should i make correction so that in my PO i will see 05.2009 in the shelf life date?
Please advice on what should i do.
    Thanks and Regards,
    JJ

    Hi,
The SLED is depens upon the Following things:
    1. Minimum remaining Shelf Life
"The minimum remaining shelf life is the minimum number of days for which the material must keep for the goods receipt to be accepted by the system".
"Minimum amount of time for which the material must keep upon goods receipt for the goods receipt to be accepted by the system."
    2. Total Shelf Life
"If you do not enter a total shelf life, enter the shelf life expiration date directly at the time of a goods movement."
For Batch managed materials we need to set the calculation of the shelf life expiration date in the Transaction: OMJ5.

  • Set Period Indicator for MVER

Where in the IMG or std system do you set the Period Indicator for the consumption posting table MVER?
Currently all movements are posting as Month.  I need to change this to Period.

I believe t-codes MM02 Forecasting and MM17 would be used to change the Forecasting period indicator in table MPOP, not the Consumption Usage period indicator in table MVER.
As soon as you perform a real time consumption movement such as peforming MB1A with movement type (GI Cost Center), the total and unplanned consumption are increamented by the transaction quantity immediately in table MVER.  The results can be seen in the Material Master MM03 view (Additional Data/Consumption).  When it updates the table is considers the period, which mine is currently M (Month).  There should be some place I can change this to P (Period).
    Thanks for your input

  • SLED period indicator in Material master

    Hi
I have maintained material master with Period indicator for SLED field as 'D' in plant general data storgae data.
I wanted to change this to W. I wanted to know is it possible to change this and if yes please provide T Code for this.
    SK

    Dear,
Follow the Tcode O02k...Here select the first line for Int.Period ..Make it Active and select this line and click on left hand side (Text for period indicator).
Here in front of your language EN:Enter W in Ext.Period I field.
    Save and come out.
Now when ever you create Material master...By default it will pick "W".
Now coming to your existing materials for which you have already maintained "D".
What you have to do is go to Tcode MM02...Under Plant data storage 1 view change the indicator from D to W.
If number of materials are large then do it by mass maintenance in tcode MM17 or create LSMW program for it.
This will def solve your problem.

  • View Customization Table changes and Data  table base changes in a report

    Hi All,
How to view Customization Table changes and DAta  table base changes in a report ,
Is it right transactions: SCU3 or RSVTPROT
Also plz let me know the concept of audit trial,
    Thanks
    SD

    Hi,
Changes to master data objects must be captured for the For compliance purposes. The auditor allows you to be able to view and print an audit log of changes to master data objects for a chosen period. It is very common for external auditors to focus on what has changed from one year or quarter to the next to help determine the nature, extent, and population for testing. To configure and access your audit log, perform the actions listed with each of the following utilities.
Audit Trail is used to track the record changes.
The report RPUAUD00 gives all the changes done to the masterdata by any user anytime.
But, before using this audit trial, please ensure that the system hardware is well equipped as the audit trials activation would later become a performance issue as this would occupy a lot of space in the coming time.
    Best Regards,
    Venkat.

When defining your fiscal year, you have the following options:
Your fiscal year is the calendar year
In this case, you must only select the Calendar year field.
Your fiscal year is not the same as the calendar year and is not year-dependent
Your fiscal year is not the same as the calendar year and is year-dependent.
In customizing (spro), you make these setting in transaction OB29.

  • Wrong period indicator linked to 2011 posting periods

    Hello,
My customer has created new series for 2011 and linked them to 2011 period indicator.
The problem is that the posting period was linked to 2010 period indicator. They've already created several transactions and therefore the period indicator in the posting period window cannot be updated.
Any ideas on how to solve it (except for restoring a backup and retyping the transactions)?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Maya
    Problem solved..

    HI Dixit Patel
If any transaction has been post in Data base so can't change Posting Period . Do one think Restore ur database Backup before posting period Creation and again create ur posting period correctly.
    Thanks

    - I changed server date to March 31(previous Accounting Year). No use.
    Anybody can help?
    Regards

    Hi Manish,

  • Database "TABLE" name change is NOT reflecting on Designer Security

    Hi all members,
    version: BOXI 3.1
I have change the table name in my Database for some particular reason.
After changing the name from "A_Table" to "B_Table" it is updating the objects "select"  information correctly by itslef. BUT for security in (Manage Access Rights) old Table name is showing.
Manaul correction is the only way for it? Can this be updated automatically.
What is the way to achieve it through SDK.
    Kindly any member guide me.
I have number of tables to change and each have number of securities applied in universe.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Izhar

Universe access security is encapsulated separate from the Universe unv itself.
Rather, it's a SI_KIND='Overload' InfoObject instance, accessible using the BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK.

  • Changing from Periodic inventory system to SAP

    Hi All,
I have an accounting questions regarding company that switching from Periodic Inventory system to SAP's perpetual inventory system.
For company that practices Periodic Inventory System, the method to calculate cost of goods sold = opening stock balances + purchases - closing stock balances. All these is reflected in the P&L statement.
When they switch to SAP, do they need to enter all these figures into SAP for the opening balances?
As SAP will not have opening balance stock, closing stock and purchases accounts, do they have to create these accounts in P&L just to take in the balances?
Does anyone have implemented for company that changing from periodic to perpetual inventory system? How do you take in the opening balances? if possible please give example, thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    MH

    Hi All,
Thanks for the reply. But what is the variance that you guys are talking about? Take example:
    Old system:
    Opening Stock balance = $ 5,000
    +Purchases                  = $20,000
    -Closing Stock balance  = $ 9,000
    Balance                        = $16,000
The amount that goes into Asset is Closing Balance $9,000 and the amount goes to P&L as COGS is $ 16,000? The rest for $20,000 and $ 5,000 can be ignore?
Thanks in advance if anyone can answer my question here.
    Regards,
    MH
