TDMS Get Properties - Root Name

I am currently using LV and the "TDMS Get Properties" VI to acquire various properties from my files without issue.
However, I need to get the Root Name out of my TDMS file in the form of a string.
How can I do this?

To get the root name of a .tdms file, you should use "TDMS Get Properties" with its "group name" and "channel name" input unwired(as shown in the picture below), then "TDMS Get Properties" returns the .tdms file's root name.

Hi, I'm not very clear of what your real problem is.  On which objects do you want to get the other properties? group? channel? More information is appreciated, if you are not familiar with TDMS file formats, you can refer http://www.ni.com/white-paper/5696/en

  • Get the root folder name once user will upload any files to subfolder with in this root folder using sharepoint designer WF??

    Hi,
How to get the root folder name using sharepoint designer WF? i have a document library with root folders and subfolders. so i am trying to get the root specific root folder name attaching with email once user will
upload any files to subfolders within that root folder.
    Thanks in advanced!

    Hi,
According to your description, you might want to get the root folder name in SharePoint Designer Workflow when there is file uploading.
The “Path” field of the current item holds the relative path of a file, as a workaround, you can retrieve the value of the “Path” as string, then split the string
value with a delimiter character of “/” to meet your requirement.
In SharePoint Designer 2010, there is no OOTB action to split the string. You can use the custom workflow actions below to achieve it.
Here is a link about the related actions I use in this scenario:
    https://spdwfstringactions.codeplex.com/
    Settings of workflow as below:
It works well in my environment:

  • Cannot get a plugin script to set the Root.Name to a value

I am experimenting with trying to build a data plugin. One of the things I discovered doesn't work is when I try to set the name of the Root to a string of my choice, like
    Root.Name = "My Data"
Instead, it seems DIAdem always sets the name of the root to the name of the log file instead.
I tried turning on the script recorder and doing the change manually, and it recorded the code line Data.Root.Name = "My Data" but if I try to use that line of code in my plugin DIAdem reports a scripting error and says it cannot find 'Data'.
    What I am doing wrong?

Regarding your scripting error, you mixed up DIAdem objects with the VBS DataPlugin API.
The Data object you refer to in "Data.Root.Name" is DIAdem specific and cannot be used in DataPlugin code. This is because DataPlugins are generic and can also be used in other National Instruments software products like LabVIEW.
Switching the syntax in DIAdem Script (File->Change Syntax) to "VBS DataPlugin" should help to write DataPlugin scripts. E.g. "Data.Root.Name" should not be recognized by DIAdems Syntax Highlighting.

How do I get the file names on a customized proof sheet?

Actually, I really don't know what you say.
But when you see the properties of a file in Windows, you can see there are two file size. One is called "SIze" and the other one is called "Size on disk".
Therefore, I would like to know the size on disk but not just the size.

  • Getting the file name using ehdr:getRequestHeader function in style sheet

Hi, I am facing an issue while using ehdr:getRequestHeader function to get the name of the file, which was placed in FTPS server and read by FTP Adapter. In style sheet I am trying to get the file name as below.

When I use the same function getRequestHeader for FileAdapter, it is working fine. Do anyone know why this issue occurs? Is this an issue with environment?

As far as I can see the problem is the invoke of the SOAP service. This could be because of an empty filename but maybe there are other issues. First, make sure that the filename is read correctly by looking it up in the BPEL runtime process. Maybe the content is different than you expected it so that the read action for the properties give wrong result. Are you sure that ehdr is the correct prefix for the ftpheader?

  • File adapter polling and getting the file name 11g Jdeveloper

    I am using JDeveloper 11g. My process is something like;
A file adapter reads a XML file
This triggers the BPM process, file content is sent to start activity as message
I have to get the file name that is read by file adapter.
How to do that? Any help is appreciated.
I have seen couple of answers like bellow in forum but did not help me much
This is a very simple task in JDeveloper 11g, file adapters are linked to the receive activity, here there is a tab called Properties which you can use to extract the file name. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Create a Simple Type variable of string type, call it fileName_var or any name you wish.
    2. Open the Receive activity in your bpel project.
    3. Scroll down to jca.file.FileName and double click on the value column, click on the browse button (...), select Variable, then click the search icon
    4. Locate your recently created variable
    5. Now when your project runs it will assign the file name to this variable, you can use this same approach also to pull the directory, file size, etc.
    *************************/

    hi,
Like you said.. steps are simple and clearly mentioned in guide.
    1. create a variable of type string
    2. after configuring the file adapter , go to corresponding receive activity , go to properties tab
    3. search for a property with name as jca.file.FileName . This basically keeps track of file name
    4. for this property, give the value as name of variable created in step 1 above
    5. Use this variable anywhere in assign / transform

  • Difficult to get good package names with ojspc in automated build

If I understand the documentation for "ojspc" correctly, there is an aspect of its functionality that makes it difficult to have a convenient automated build which can also get good package names for the generated Java source files.
If you don't specify the "-packageName" option, ojspc will build a package name relative to the current directory, including sub-directories. However, specifying "-packageName" will ONLY use that package, and will not create sub-packages associated with sub-directories.
If you don't use the "-packageName" option, then you have to run the build from the root directory of your JSP files. When you're running an automated build with ANT, it's not convenient to do this.
The likely result of this is that I would have to make sure that all of my JSP files are named differently, even if they're in different directories, and use the "-packageName" option to specify a particular package name for all of the generated source files.

After more careful reading, I realized that using the "-appRoot" option (without using "-packageName") makes it possible for an ANT build to generate good package names (with directories).
The following note, however, in the ojspc documentation is kind of odd:
"It is advisable that you run ojspc once for each directory of your JSP application, so files in different directories can be given different package names, as appropriate."
I assume this is referring to using the "-packageName" option. If you don't need to use "-packageName", especially if you have multiple directories of JSP pages, it is much easier to just let ojspc pick the package names.

  • LabVIEW 8.0:: How to get the group name of a user logged to a NI Security Domain?

    Hello all,
I am using LabVIEW 8.0 PDS.
I created a new local domain called "MyDomain" in the "NI Domain Account Manager" . I added a new User called "MyUser" and a new group called "Maintenance". I set "MyUser" to be a member of the "Maintenance" group. Then, I configured LabVIEW to invoke the login dialog at start-up in order to log "MyUser" with the correct password.
I would like to get the group name of the current user logged programmatically in a VI. I tried with the VI Server >> Application >> Security properties and methods and also with the properties and methods of the NI Security Class but it seems to be not so simple as I believed at start.
I do not find any informations or KB on this (all the documents I found deal with LV DSC or TestStand).
The final goal is to be able to manage a list of user for my application. Each user is a member of a group ("Administrator", "Operator", "Maintenance") and depending on the group, the user can or cannot access to some parts of the application.
    Thanks for your help.

Here is a screenshot of this functions...
If you really own LV DSC 8.2 the best thing to do is to reinstall it.

  • How to get the package name of a procedure used in a process flow activity

Hi all. I'm on OWB 11.2.0.2.0.
When I used a packaged procedure or function in a mapping operator, I can find out the package.program_unit name by getting the operator's FUNCTION_NAME property. For example,
OMBRETRIEVE MAPPING '$mapName' OPERATOR '$operName' GET PROPERTIES (FUNCTION_NAME)
But when the same is used in a process flow activity, I can't find a property name that will give me the same information. I can get the BOUND_NAME, it does not tell me the package name. It must be stored in the activity properties because when you pull up the Synchronize dialog for the activity, it knows the package name.
Is there a way to get this via an OMBRETRIEVE?
    Thanks.

ANA, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much. I saw REFs also in the OMBRETRIEVE MAPPING/OPERATOR syntax, but went cross-eyed trying to figure out if I could use the same there. The closest I found was GET BOUND_OBJECT.
    Thanks again!

I booted this drive from another computer (Asrock M3A770DE mobo) and works fine, speed with dd was ~100MB/s
I also update bios on my first computer with Intel D945GSEJT (there is selected AHCI mode) still the same transfers with dd (~10Mb/s)
I have no idea what to do with it now
    EDIT:
More tests with other hdd (Samsung HD502IJ), dd on mounted NTFS partition:
Intel D945GSEJT booted from Archlinux iso:
    hdparm: ~75 MB/s
    dd: ~10 MB/s
Intel D945GSEJT booted from Archlinux iso, HDD connected to PCI SATA controller (Promise 378):
    hdparm: ~60 MB/s
    dd: ~10 MB/s
Asrock M3A770DE booted from Archlinux iso:
    hdparm: ~87 MB/s
    dd: ~76 MB/s
Asrock M3A770DE booted from Archlinux iso, HDD connected to PCI SATA controller (Promise 378):
    hdparm: ~81MB/s
    dd: ~76 MB/s
    What is broken on D945GSEJT?

  • Getting the folder name of the service in Tomcat 5.5

    Hi,
    I am using Tomcat 5.5.
I have a problem getting the folder name my service is located in.
    Ex.
    \webapps\myApp\...
Here i would like the string "myApp" - does anyone know how to get this?
The reason for this is that i use a war file to deploy "myApp". I have a set of properties which i don't want to change so I put them in a file outside "myApp" called "myApp.properties". I can then easily change between a test environment and my online environment.

I don't think you understand his answer.
Reading properties files from the file system directly is a mediocre solution at best for a web application. Even if it happens to work in this particular situation.
For example you would be better off loading properties from a single properties file as classpath loaded resources and simply using the context as a key to the properties in question. You could also configure this from web environment parameters specific to the web application.
Anything that puts a hard dependency on a particular file system layout is a bad idea, anything that reads files from within a web application server is likely to be a brittle solution.
This may work, for you, in your current circumstances, but you need to understand why this is a poor approach in general.
