Tecra S10 - Can I order a recovery disk for another language?

Does anybody know how to change the Windows 7 language on a Tecra S10?
Can I just order an Englsih recovery disc from here:
If so, what is the price of these discs?
The PC has a license for the preinstalled German Windows 7 Pro 32-bit, and I need it to English.

> {quote:title=as*** wrote:}{quote}You cannot do this. Notebooks are country specific products and when you buy your notebook it is prepared for certain market. By missing recovery disc you can order original disc only.

This sounds downright stupid, considering that we have this EU thang nowadays. But somehow, the "wise" peeps at Toshiba Nordic have decided not to import Tecra S10, which is Toshiba's best equipped pro laptop series. Then when I have to buy a brand new one from Germany, I first have to download a 2.4 GB Windows 7 Pro 32-bit ISO-image and burn my own installation disc, (done already). THEN, I have to download 4close to 50 files to get all S10 specific drivers, tools and utils. With bad luck, Windows requires a reboot after every install. :-(
If I just could order an English S10 recovery disc, I wouldn't commit any piracy, and I'll gladly pay some € 30 for it. to save a lot of frustrating work.
I hope that the license number on the bottom of the PC will work for my downloaded installation disc...

  • Tecra M2 - Can I buy a recovery disk?

    Hello,
I have a Toshiba Tecra M2, but without a recovery disk.
I can buy an old recovery disk for Tecra M2.
Will it be ok for my laptop, or not ?
( is each recovery disk linked with its original laptop by the serial number or something else? or will it be ok for every Tecra M2 laptop)
    Thanks

I am also a little bit skeptic you will get recovery media for this old notebook model but you can contact nearest authorized service provider and ask if they can obtain one copy for you.
I am not so sure you will get it but you can try. In worst case you can install OS using Microsoft installations CD. All drivers, tools and utilities you can find and download from Toshiba support and download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
    Good luck!

You will only know about the hard drive when you try to access it in TDM from your other computer. If you cannot boot into TDM mode or if the drive does not appear on the new computer's Desktop then it is likely bad.
What you are thinking about as a recovery disk is the Recovery HD normally created when you install Lion or later on the computer. You boot from it as follows:
    Boot Using Command+R keys:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
"COMMAND" and the "R" keys together.
      3. Release the keys when the Utilities Menu appears.

  • How can I get a recovery disk for Satellite P300-1CI?

    Hi everybody,
first, sorry for my english, I'm a belgian and I speak french.
Yesterday I bought a toshiba Satellite P300-1CI, when I started, I must installed Vista home.
I would like to format my disk and reinstall my old Windows XP.
My question is : How can keep an image disk with Vista? I don't have an installation disk of Vista and don't know my registration key of it.
How can I have a recovery disk ?
    Can you help me please.
PS : Sorry for my english

    Hi mate
User manual is really interesting document and in most cases it answer all you questions ;)
Anyway, the Toshiba recovery disk should be created before you would format and install on the HDD.
You have to use the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator application in order to create the Recovery DVD.
    Now to you other question;
The Vista image which is preinstalled and placed on the Recovery disk (after recovery disk has been created) is activated already and you dont need to insert any keys or activate anything.

  • Re: Can I download the recovery disk for my Equium?

    Hi!
I got a virus though MSN on my computer and it slowed my computer so I downloaded the free version of avg and done a fast scan to clear the virus out.
Then once it had finished it asked me to restart my computer so I did but now everytime I log on ot logs me straight back out instantly.
I have miss placed my rocovery CD's.
I was wondering if I could download them and burn them onto a disk from my other pc?

    I agree with the Raver.
Newer notebooks have been equipped with the HDD recovery feature
This allows you to recover the notebook without the usage of Recovery disk.
I dont now if your notebook has been equipped with such HDD recovery or not but you check it pressing the F8 button immediately after notebook powering up.
Then you a new menu should appear and here you have to choose the first option called Repair my Computer.
If this HDD recovery procedure would functions then you would not need to order new recovery disk.

  • Can I use same recovery disk for two identical computers?

I own two PCs, model m8034n, which were identical when I bought them. If I order a Windows Vista recovery disk for one of them (specifying the serial number when I order), will I be able to use it to restore the other computer to its factory condition?

I imagine as long as the Vista versions are the same on both computers it would be OK to use it.  No guarantee it will work but you may try.

    Hi:
You can probably downgrade your Vista notebook to XP, but you don't have a license (downgrade rights) to do that from Microsoft.
Normally, only business notebooks and desktops were given downgrade rights to XP due to the risk of companies operations grinding to a halt because of software incompatiblities with some programs and Vista.
Personally, it would be better anyway to move on up to Windows 7.
Since your notebook came with Vista, it can run Windows 7. For any missing drivers you may have you can normally use the Vista drivers on your notebook's support and driver page.
Additionally, you may want to read through this dv2000 upgrade guide for Windows 7.

  • How can I order a replacement disk for PSE 12

I have searched the website and i seem to be going in circles.

I don’t know if you can, from Adobe.
I’d suggest downloading the trial of PSE12 from here, and burning that to a disc if you need it on disc:
    https://www.adobe.com/downloads.html
Click the Try link next to PSE12 near the bottom.

    OK.
That depends on the operating system you have installed and the CPU\chipset your notebook has.  To install the proper drivers, you will have to identify the devices that the notebook has on your own.. I certainly can't do that from afar. That is the downside of buying a notebook without an operating system. You will have to do the legwork, but we will try to guide you.
This spec sheet shows the base items but does not identify them by brand and model. How to identify unknown devices in a Windows 7 notebook.
The  drivers  for Windows 8.1 & 7 (64-bit only) are located at the following HP suport portal for your notebook.

  • I need english recovery disk for M300

    hi to all
I need recovery disk for my portege m300
I just have in Italian any one can make disk image from menu
or say me how to get one copy???
    Thanks

    Hi,
on official ways it's not possible to get a recovery disk in another language. You can only try to find somebody, who has an english version of the M300.
You can also build up the system by yourself with an english Microsoft Windows CD. The needed drivers and programs can be downloaded from Toshiba's site.

  • Can I Create The Recovery Disk(s) From The Recovery Partition? Can I Copy The Partition?

I searched the forums to find an answer to this question, but was unable to find one. It seems to me that it might be useful info for others trying to create Recovery CD/DVDs from a failed hard drive that still has an accessible Recovery Partition so hopefully we can figure out a solution. :-)
I have a Pavilion dv9408ca (Vista Home) with a hard drive that won't boot. I removed the hard drive and was able to read it on another system. I was also able to to create a Virtual Machine and run it so I recovered all the important data. I installed it in an external drive case and tried to boot from it but I wasn't able to access the Recovery Partition (F11 option didn't show and didn't work), and Windows wouldn't load.
It's possible that the controller is the problem so I don't want to buy another hard drive yet. I would like to format the original hard drive and create a 'factory' system but I don't have Recovery CD/DVDs. I cannot create the Recovery CD/DVDs using the Virutal Machine (I presume it's because it's not running on an HP).
The dv9408ca can boot form the DVD drive (ran UBCD, etc. and they booted fine).
Can I copy the Recovery Partition and make a bootable set of CD/DVDs by using some other program or copying the files/folders? I have CD/DVD burning software (Nero) that can create bootable CD/DVDs. Or can I use the Virtual Machine to run a program that will do this without using the HP Recovery Manager software in Windows?
Or... Can I create a set of Recovery CDs from another Pavilion Notebook (different model but same Vista OS) and use those to format/recover the dv9408ca system?
Thank you for your help with this problem.

This is only option which might work for you provided the product number of other laptop matches with your existing system Else you can order a set of recovery disk for your Notebook(dv9408ca) from here for a nominal charge.
