We are using Veristand 2011.When we run any sequence in stimulus profle editor,we get test results in form of ATML file.
We want to customise the template for this test result generation as per our requirement.
For example:
Test case No.: Description of test case.
Objectives: Explanation of objectives.
Result: Passed/ Failed.
Graph: If any.
Please suggest how to do this.You cant really change too much in the report, you can customize TRML.xsl which is created every time in the Test Results\UUT 1 folder and that would give you some flexibility on what is shown. I dont know what a xsl is actually able to do in terms of composing data from multiple files (if at all possible) but it definitely allows you to change the visual format of the existing xml data.
Otherwise I modified the xsl to customize the look of the xml report when opened in a browser to have less clutter and some coloring on the Pass/Fail but, the reports are XML files anyway so it's easy to extract data out of them and you can probably write your own report creation tool to compose the report in whatever format you like. -

How to make or include blank template for report?
you can go to
Navigator > Applications > Shared Components > User Interface Templates
and create a unstructured template ,In that It's upto you what all you wish to add as a template .Create a blank template say
Template name = "Blank Template" and then while creating the report you can use the same "Blank Template" .I hope it helps. -

Field Names
Font Size acorss the report should be consistent
columns should wrap up in a readable format
decimal places for % fields.
Decimal places for quantity fields.
Reports should have grid lines, this will be helpful from a readability standpoint
Right align the measures along with the associated headers
The sub-total text
No column headers should be underlined
Backend filters at the top on the right
Header/Footer
Download to PDF and Excel and Print HTML
"Check 1. Prompts sequence
2. datatype of prompts - drop down or multiselect
3. default values and
4. report results returned after selecting any prompt"
"Run the report with some filter values and see if filters are working.
Access the Report and try to Modify the report request by selecting the modify link, include new fields and remove some default fields
Save the report
Validate the calculations on calculated fields. -

Use the SE84 transaction (Information system) and search for programs using BCALV* for SAP demo programs using ALV.

stevenSorry for asking, but have you ever worked with Oracle Reports before? What you are describing is exactly what Report Builders does: you create a query to retrieve data from the database, and in the layout editor you create a page layout for this data.

How to edit template for report broadcast
Hi,
my client publish the report thru information broadcast in PDF.
The report show the dynamic selection and variable selection information at the top of the report content and they want to remove it as it consume half page for this.
How can go to the report template they are using ? I see it has the company logo on page header so i guess it was already modified somewhere but I don't find this in SPRO...the fields there is blank.Hi Panadda,
Regretfully, you are correct that they have probably created a copy of one of the standard WAD templates that control the PDF print out - if it was a standard template you could go into the WAD and just do a search on anything starting with 0* and you would see something like QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70 - or one similar.
but what you will need to do now is find that template that is being used - it may be that they altered the standard 0 template - go review that first. If you find that template you will see that it will have some web items that you can change or adjust - this is where you will be able to alter the format.
either remove or filter those web items that you need changed on the PDF file print out.

Using Microsoft Word file as template for Report.
Hi all
I want to use a Microsoft Word file for my report as template. For example I will write following text in word file.
"Dear Mr, &<column_name1>
You are invited to offical dinner by &<column_name2>."
And my report should generate the letters for all the employees (using the same look and feel as given in word). Here <column_name1> contains list of all employees and <column_name2> contains list of their supervisors.

I have to create 20 reports in report Designer and each one of them have same header, footer and column fields.

How to change the default print template for broadcast PDF Export
Hi,
I have currently designed a print template for printing purposes and use this as the template for the print button(Export to PDF),if i were to click on this button the output pdf is the desired PDF. But if i were to broadcast the template with output format as PDF it picks the layout of the current template, how do i set broadcast to pick up the print template also???

These setting are for
1.Adhoc Template for Queries
2. Adhoc Template for reports designed through report designer
3. Template for query precalculation
4. Template for displaying broadcasting wizard.
When we use broadcasting from query designer to email PDF's the system uses 0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCAST_PDF.
From WAD the system uses the current template layout as PDF Layout.

The Fields are material, Batch, internal char, char value.
Here the logic is the field Internal char no have values vintage,Bill of entry and the field char value have 222, 333-7876 for correponding field.

They need bw report like

Follow the below given steps,
1) Goto rows area and right click to create new formula variable.
2) In the edit step of your formula, remove the default description and put a &, you will get different options. select the new text variable.
3) Give the variable name, description and select the type as replacement path.
4) On the next screen select your characteristics i.e. Internal cost type (first char).
5) on the next screen select replace variable with Key or text value whichever you want.
6) Here we are done with heading part.
Now for defination of formula variable,
1) Right click on Formual variable tree and create a new variable.
2) Select type as replacement path and on next screen select the other characteristics i.e. Internal cost value i.e. 222.
3) Again on next screen replace variable with key.
4) Finally select Dimension indicator as Number.
5) We are ready to use the variable. In the defination part use newly created variable.
Now you will get the output in exactly required format.

I have an application wich uses a "Region report" template as a default template for reports. Now I have two kind of reports that I would like to display differently. I have created another template for reports, but could only use once at a time. Where can I link each report with its template ?? (The reports are not located on the same page, but could be ...)

OthmanYou can choose the template for your report from the Report Attributes page for that report region.
There are separate templates for the Region Definition and the Report itself. -
Custom Template for Third Party Balance Summary Report(Java type executable
Hi Al,l we have a requirment to have a layout with some of the fields from
Third Party Balance Summary Report( Which is a Java type executable and
Data definition has Data Template attached(.xml)).
I tried in below way.
Coppied the Third Party Balance Summary Report program with same application and parameters
with. Then defined a Datadefinition with my concurrent prog short name
attached the same standard .xml file(Not sure what it is) and developed a custom template with
a custom rtf(excel output type), and submitted the program
the output is generated in excel but my custom .rtf layout is not getting applied
rather it is showing same layout as in standard.
Some thing I am missing here or else it is not the way of changing the
template.
If any one know how to do this please let me know.
My client want only some files from the standard report(no need of new fileds)
with output type xls.

The same content is posted in Custom Template for Third Party Balance Summary Report(Java type executable sorry for duplicating the thread, just for increase the visibility for my issue I did this.I gave up on using a different font or figuring out if I could use Times New Roman's built-in fractions visible in Font Book (as unicodes) and did a work-around based on Michael Wasley's tips in this discussion.

I adapted it however and think it looks a little better.
Font: Times New Roman 12 point
I used the fraction bar in 12-point (Shift-Option-1) for automatic kerning.
For the numerator, I changed the font style to superior (12-point).
For the denominator, I changed the font style to subscript (Shift-Command-hyphen) and reduced the font size to half, or 6-point using the short-cut Shift-Command-<.
When the fractions occured in my footnotes (9-point), I used 4-point in the denominator; 10- and 11-point, I used 5-point in the denominator. This seemed to produce the best result when printing.

Dynamically set template for Print Quote report
We need to customize "Print Quote" in Quoting
As part of this we will be having 2 custom templates (will be related to data definition "Quote Printing", ASOPRT).
These two templates have to be defaulted based on the quote status - one for status "Approved", and the other template for other non "Approved" statuses.
How can this be achieved dynamically? (OAF CO customization / personilization)
There doesn't seem to be any setup for assigning different templates based on status.
Profile option "ASO: Default Layout Template" can be utilized to change the default template, but we need this template to be defaulted dynamically based on the Quote status.

Creating Parameters in RTF Template for BI Publisher Report

I have created Parameters in my BI Publisher Report and in SQL query. But i need to create same parameters in RTF Template , so that when i publish this report in dashboard , parameters will be visible. Can you please tell me how to create Parameters in RTF Template for BI Publisher Report ? I am not finding option. Please let me know .

Gayathri.all the parameter's value will be there in your xml .
just you need to add parameter heading and corresponding xml tag name to get the parameter value on the report.

Declare Parameter in RTF Template
Before you use the parameter in the RTF template file you need to declare it first. You can do so by having the following syntax.
<?param@begin:%parameter_name%?>
Note: where %parameter_name% is the parameter name that you have created at the BI Publisher Server UI.
Here is an example:
<?param@begin:param1?>
Use it in RTF Template!
Once it’s declared in the RTF template you can start using it as the same way you use the variable. You need to just add ‘$’ prefix in front of the parameter name. Here is the example:
<?$param1?>
The above example would print the parameter value in the report output. If you want to use this value in your condition or calculation you can simply use it as ‘$param1’. Yes, it’s that simple.
If you are not sure if and how the parameter values are passed to the report when you run the report you can use this command in your RTF template, which will return all the parameter values passed to the RTF template at the runtime.
