Testing forms in linux machine
Hi,
How can I test forms application after installing 10g application server in linux machine using
http://<your_server>:7778/forms/frmservlet?form=test.
In windows , jinitiator is automatically installed, but in linux how can I configure?.
Regards
JIJU
Hi,
should work the same if the client machine is Windows. If the client machine is Linux, you need to use the JavaPlugin as described in the documentation (see application server documentation)

Install jdk1.5 on linux machine
Hi,
I need to install jdk1.5 on linux machine.
I downloaded jdk-1_5_0_10-linux-i586.bin to /users/sarayu/downloads and followed the below steps to install.
a) chmod 777 jdk-1_5_0_10-linux-i586.bin
b) In /users/sarayu/downloads directory I ran the binary file as
./jdk-1_5_0_10-linux-i586.bin
I feel that jdk1.5 is not installed on linux machine and I didn't find the directory named as jdk-1_5_0_10.

How can i deploy a form developped with Forms 10g in IAS+Linux
Please what is the modifications that i must add to .bash_profile (Library ....)
thank youAssuming you have already installed IAS and it's working (test Form), you don't need to do anything with .bash_profile, you have to configure your application. See [url http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_16/web.1012/b14032/toc.htm]Forms Services Deployment Guide
Eventually you may have to compile your form : you can use frmcmp.sh for that.
If you mean to launch a single form from browser, then you can use something like :
http://<machine name>:<port>/forms/frmservlet?form=<form's path>.fmx&userid=<username/password@DB>
for example :
http://localhost:7777/forms/frmservlet?form=/tmp/MY_FORM.fmx&userid=scott/tiger@orcl -
I have a use case where I need to use different download directories with different firefox profiles.I need to use this profiles in multiple linux machines.
I need to have a relative path to my download directory with respect to the profile folder.
Ex: I have a selenium test which opens a website and downloads it to my machine.I want this downloaded file to go into some specific folder relative to this profile folder. How do I do this??That is not a practically empty xinitrc - that file only needs one line: exec WM. Other things are entirely optional, and some of them very useful, but I'd encourage you to stick with the simplest xinitrc that will do what you require.
Is slim involved? Probably. That is the source of many problems. But to start narrowing this down, I have 3 suggestions:
1) temporarily (at least) change your inittab to default to runlevel 3 ... actually, is it currently set to 5 or 3? if it is currently 3 that would explain why slim doesn't start.
2) at a tty in runlevel 3 use "xinit" instead of "startx". Startx is fine most of the time, but it is essentially just a complex wrapper for xinit. That complexity can often iadd useful functionality, but it *always* makes troubleshooting more difficult. So for now just use a vanilla 'xinit'.
3) remove dbus-launch from your exec line in xinitrc. This is done by console-kit so it is redundant and potentially problematic. Further BOTH of these are taken care of by slim, so I'd even suggest getting both a jump start on being ready for slim and simplifying troubleshooting by removing both of them. Just make that line "exec openbox-session"
Edit: adding one more:
4) temporarily switch out openbox-session for openbox. I suspect the reason feh's setting of the background is getting overridden is due to a script or setting in openbox's autostart settings - many of these are only invoked when "openbox-session" is called, while "openbox" starts *just* the window manager itself.

Copy a compiled DBXML from one Linux machine to another Linux machine?
Hello
I am currently preparing two Linux machines for a DBXML application. One machine is for testing and the other for production. They are almost identical:
Test machine:
>
root@jumasiri:~# uname -a
Linux jumasiri 2.6.29.6 #2 Mon Aug 17 01:31:42 CDT 2009 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
root@jumasiri:~# gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 4.3.3
root@jumasiri:/etc# mount
/dev/root on / type ext2 (rw,errors=continue)
... (some lines left out for clarity)
>
Production machine
>
root@jumasiri:/etc/udev/rules.d# uname -a
Linux jumasiri 2.6.29.6-smp #2 SMP Mon Aug 17 00:52:54 CDT 2009 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
root@jumasiri:/etc/udev/rules.d# gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 4.3.3
root@jumasiri:/etc# mount
/dev/root on / type ext3 (rw,errors=continue,data=ordered)
... (some lines left out for clarity)
/dev/hda3 on /usr/local type ext3 (rw)
/dev/hda4 on /home type ext3 (rw)
>
As you can see the test machine has everything mounted on 1 partition only, whereas the production uses several. The test machine has a ext2 filesystem and the production machine ext3 filesystems. The dbxml binaries and libraries are installed in /usr/local/dbxml on both machines. The databases are installed somewhere in /home/koen/.
I've compiled dbxml succssfully on both machines, but ran into severe compilation problems on the production machine when compiling Xerces. Instead of digging and solving into the problem I have simply copied the successful compilation of the test machine to the production machine. Everything seems to work.
My question is very simple. Can one do that, copying one compilation to another machine with the same OS but with a different filesystem?
Thank you
KoenHello
Thank you. One can never be sure enough, isn't it? For your information, the copy is running fine. My question was more related to the file system. As we don't know the inner workings of dbxml, we can never tell if the knowledge of type of file system is used internally.
Bye

Edited by: AMSI on Dec 19, 2012 6:01 AMI assume you're using the "LKM file to Oracle SQL Loader".
For test purpose, can you just try with "LKM file to SQL" (slower) ?
We could check if the problem comes from the SQL Loader.

Trying to deploy .sh or .csh file on linux machine
Hi All,
I am trying to manage Linux devices (Centos 6.3) using SCCM 2012 R2. I have installed the SCCM client on the Linux machine, i can get the H/w & S/w inventory from resource explorer on SCCM but i am not able to deploy scripts(.sh & .csh files) to
the Linux machine, no matter i do what it just don't get it deployed. i have created 3 separate Centos 6.3 machine for testing this but after deployment when i check the deployment status in monitoring it always shows "Waiting for content". The Linux
machines are not joined to domain.
Please Help.
Thanks,
Pranay.Hi,

Hi guys, i know this is really more of a windows support question, but here goes:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit acting as a file server, turned off all the usual MS authentication stuff so Macs and Linux systems connect with password without issues..
except when i start copying certain files/file types/names to the system, it will break the network connection, then refuse any more connections, all macs and linux machines on the network are booted, from the PC however i can still access the Macs shares volumes.. (the macs still see the windows machine & pinging is still there, but if i try to connect i get 'check the name/ip address' error
im no expert, but its as if the Samba service on the windows machine gets killed and im not sure what to do to get it to re-connect other then restarting the system, but as the system is also a terminal server users always have apps/documents open and its 'never a good time' to do it..
if there was an alternate Samba to install, or a buffer patch, or even a 'goto this service, stop and restart' etc.
Trying to get help from the 'windows' community comes down to 'well your on a mac what do expect etc etc' *sigh*
any help is appreciated
RichardHi, just thought id update my finding regarding this, and it maybe directly affected by my only system, but in case anyone else has this issue?
I thought it may be due to the file name thats causing the lockups, but I found while trying to backup my collection of install images and updates that sure enough a simple named file 'osx10.6.3.DMG' going to the server, 850MB in it stalls and fails, now im not able to connect.
but form the PC, without changing the name or location etc, i copied the SAME from the Macs hard drive through to the windows system, all 5.7GB.
so it is something to do with my windows 7 system, but maybe more related to the size of the file then the name or non-standard characters as first thought.
as suggested by Grant above i will check on the server boards as well.
thanks -

Export Libraries path to run forms in linux
I'm using Oracle 9i A.S. in Linux (RedHat 8). Now I need to export Libraries path in diffrent folder. Would some body have any idea in linux how to export Libraries in diffrent folder to run forms. I tried export from .bash_profile but it doesn't work.
Thanks Klaus.
I have already define LD_LIBRARYPATH in .bash_profile:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/i386/hotspot:$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/i386/native_threads
Now I need to export FORMS90_PATH.
I just export FORMS90_PATH in $ORACLE_HOME/forms90/server/default.env and in .bash_profile as follow ::
FORMS90_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/forms90:$ORACLE_HOME/forms90/test/libraries:$ORACLE_HOME/forms90/test/forms:$ORACLE_HOME/forms90/test/icons
Now it load LIBRATY but after login other submenu is not working.
Anybody have Idea about this.. -

Is there a way to invoke the test scripts on this machine from a different Linux machine? These are not load testing scripts. These are functional testing scripts.
Will the Linux version of remote agent help here?Hi,
Functional tesing is only available on Windows (for the moment). It is to do with the browser .dlll.
