Tg3: Problem fetching invariants of chip, aborting.

Hi all, there is a wired card (BCM57780) problem with my laptop Lenovo U350, using tg3 module(http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/TIGON3.html);

I was wondering if there is a way helping me out, or should I report this bug to another people?

No, it does not work on a livecd(x86_64), someone has reported it works on a ubuntu distribution(possibly a 32-bit version), but I did not check it as the laptop does not have a cd driver.
Just now I tried it by using a 32-bit usb-image livecd, still does not work.

  • Defect MacBook 2011. Problems with the video chip.

    I was faced with the legendary defect MacBook 2011. Problems with the video chip. Heard about what Apple makes replacement chips for free. My friend a year ago made the change in the service center. Is this true now?

    Since Apple says that some copy protected DVD's will not function with Disk Sharing, you may need to "clone" the DVD, using the MBP, to a flash drive, and use the flash drive to perform the installation of the software.
    Another alternative is to download and install the Trial version from the Microsoft Office For Mac website, and then use the activation code provided with the DVD to activate the full version install of the trial.

  • Problem fetching policy-file-request

    According to
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/fplayer9_security_print.html
    quote:
    * A SWF file may no longer make a socket connection to its
    own domain without a socket policy file. Prior to version
    9,0,115,0, a SWF file was permitted to make socket connections to
    ports 1024 or greater in its own domain without a policy file.
    * HTTP policy files may no longer be used to authorize
    socket connections. Prior to version 9,0,115,0, an HTTP policy
    file, served from the master location of /crossdomain.xml on port
    80, could be used to authorize a socket connection to any port 1024
    or greater on the same host.
    So with the tighter security measures, a policy file has to
    be fetched on port 843 or on the same port on which a connection is
    desired. That leads to another problem. The policy file request
    made by the player has a simple format: clear text
    <policy-file-request/> is sent as raw data bytes on
    the ports.
    As most firewalls block such raw data traffic (of unknown
    protocols) on all the ports, this means that the policy file fetch
    will fail almost always if the user is behind any firewall.
    This will render all SWFs, that do not use well known ports,
    unusable. Does anyone know what is the solution to this
    problem? Or am I missing something here?

    Common guys, someone has to know what to do here.
    I have read all that I can read and tried all that I could
    and the flash app is not accepting my policy file.

  • System crashes after waking; problems with distnoted, graphics chip error

    I am running 10.3.9 on a Dual 1 GHz G4, with 1.5 GB SDRAM, a GeForce4 Ti 4600 LCD display, and a LaCie 1394 external drive. I have recently started to put my computer to sleep at night, rather than leaving it running 24 hours a day (I also installed sleepwatcher, to allow me to put my computer to sleep remotely, and anacron, to allow the nightly system maintenance jobs to continue to run). This was working fine for about a week, but for the last two days, when I woke my computer up in the morning, I got kernel panics after a few minutes. First some aspects of the display would start to get mangled (e.g. strange lines appearing, some text that I typed not showing up, icons in the dock looking speckled, etc.), then some applications would stop responding, and then a minute or so later I would get the feared kernel panic message ("You need to restart your computer" in multiple languages).
    This problem only seems to occur after the computer has been asleep for a long time (I've only experienced it after it's been asleep for 12 hours or so, and not when it's only been asleep for a few minutes). The only thing I can think of that I've changed in the last few days is an AppleScript that mounts my external LaCie drive (using "do shell script diskutil mountDisk ...") before backing up my files - using FoldersSynchronizer - then putting my computer to sleep (before I was never UNmounting this drive, so I didn't have to mount it in the AppleScript - I was still using the script to back up the files then put the computer to sleep).
    I have tried running Apple's Disk Utility (both to repair the permissions, and to repair the disk), DiskWarrior (to rebuild my startup disk), fsck, and TechTool Deluxe. None seemed to reveal any major errors except the "Surface Scan" in TechTool, which failed, presumably because of media defects in the disk (but my understanding is that fixing this would require reformatting my disk, something that I only want to do as a last resort).
    My system.log shows the following, from the time I woke my computer to the time I restarted (I've highlighted some suspicious-looking lines). It seems like the problem might either be occurring in distnoted, or with the graphics chip. Any thoughts on how I can determine the cause of the problem?

    Yesterday's crash looks similar, except that the Graphics chip error occurs 13 seconds before the distnoted error (rather than after the distnoted error), and rather than a crash of "MouseWorks Background" there was a crash of "WindowServer". Any thoughts on what might be causing this problem? I will continue to test the effects of changing various aspects of my configuration, but since I can only get the problem to occur once a day (after my computer has been asleep for a while), it might take me a few days or weeks to track the problem down through blind trial-and-error.
    Thanks!
    Dual 1 GHz G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   1.5 GB SDRAM, GeForce4 Ti 4600 LCD display, LaCie 1394 external drive

    After a little experimentation, I've managed to narrow the problem down a little, but still haven't resolved it. My computer still crashes almost every time I wake it up after a long sleep (multiple hours). Things work fine for a few minutes, but then some aspects of the display start to get mangled (e.g. strange lines appearing, text becoming distorted, etc.), then some applications start crashing and the system hangs. Sometimes I get a kernel panic, but not always - but I always need to reboot to solve the problem.
    The errors in the system log files differ from crash to crash, but the one thing that seems to be consistent is that I get a "Graphics chip error". Is this usually a hardware problem, or can it be due to a software problem? Sometimes this graphics chip error is the first error to occur, although sometimes an application will crash a few seconds before the graphics chip error is recorded in the system.log.
    In my original post, I suggested that the problem might be due to an AppleScript that mounts an external drive. I have since determined that this is NOT the cause of the problem.
    Any thoughts on what might be going on?

  • ORACLE 11g + PHP5 problem: "fetch out of sequence" on remote database link

    Hi!
    I have a new server with oracle 11g (11.1.0.7) database and apache/php5 (actual build) on linux.
    connection type is dedicated.
    when doing a connection to a remote AS/400 database I always get this error:
    "Warning: oci_fetch_array() http://function.oci-fetch-array: ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence ORA-02063: preceding line from..."
    when doing the same simple "select * from database link" at my old server with oracle 9i and apache/php5 no problem occurrs.
    this happens at AS/400 database link only. normal oracle database links work fine.
    Anyone an idea how to solve this problem or where the problem is????
    further info:
    when doing " select * from [ database link ] where rownum < 11 " it works, but when doing the query with more than 10 results I get the error. Any idea?
    bye,
    Oliver

    well a fetch out of sequence usually indicates that a cursor has been closed before the process has finished fetching or some such thing.
    I'm not aware of there being a specific problem with the situation you outline, but maybe if you could provide all the connection setup and how you are trying to connect that may give a better idea.
    Also, you may be better asking on the General Database Discussions forum as this isn't really a SQL or PL/SQL problem

    Hi,
    I got the solution. The solved query is as under :

  • ORACLE 11g + PHP5 problem: "fetch out of sequence" on i5/OS AS/400

    Hi!
    I have a big problem using a database connection to i5 AS/400 with PHP5 OCI8 interface by Oracle 11g:
    when doing a simple "select * from (as400_database_link)" I get this return: "fetch out of sequence... preceding line..."
    I never had this problem with 9i, old transparent gateway.
    BUT:
    when doing for example a "select * from (as400_database_link) where rownum < 1000000" it works fine without problems.
    Anyone an idea how to eliminate this stupid "where rownum < 100000" behaviour?
    I would have to add this in many select statements... ;(
    bye,
    Oliver

    Tach,
    how do you call oci_execute ?
    try oci_execute($query,OCI_DEFAULT);
    I had the same problem with adodb
    $q = " select * from elephant@africa";
    $db->GetAll($q);
    Failed with the same error.
    ADODB called oci_execute with OCI_COMMIT_ON_SUCCESS,which caused my error.
    $q = " select * from elephant@africa";
    $db->BeginTrans();
    $db->GetAll($q);
    $db->CommitTrans(); (or rollback);
    did the job,because BeginTrans changed oci_execute to run with OCI_DEFAULT.
    Hope this helps,
    gw

  • Problem fetching Chinese Characters over DB Link

    Hi,
    I'm currently fetching data from SQL Server 2005 through a DB Link I created in my Oracle XE 11g. Some of these data are in Chinese Characters.
    When doing a SELECT statement from the table using SQL Developer, it shows me ?????. When doing the same SELECT directly to the SQL Server using MS SQL Server Management Studio, it shows the correct character in Chinese.

    It appears that you have a data display problem & I am not convinced that it has anything to do with XE;
    just SQL Developer.
    When was the last time SQL Developer properly displayed Chinese characters?Hi,
    I've never had any chance to view Chinese characters before in SQL Developer. This is my first attempt.
    EDIT: I tried the following SELECT statement in SQL Developer and it seems to display the Chinese character just fine.
    select unistr('\8349') from dual;So I'm guessing the problem was while I was trying to fetch the data from the SQL Server DB.The data is good in the SQLServer DB & SQL Developer can display when it gets them.
    so problem is with the ODBC between the two systems.

  • Problem fetching the mails

    I am writing a simple program to fetch the mails from the mail server using the following code :
    public static void main (String args[]) throws Exception {
    String username = args[0];
    String password = args[1];
    Properties props = new Properties();
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);
    Store store = session.getStore("pop3");
    store.connect("pop.mail.yahoo.com", username, password);
    Folder folder = store.getFolder("INBOX");
    folder.open(Folder.READ_ONLY);
    BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader (
    new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    Message message[] = folder.getMessages();
    for (int i=0, n=message.length; i<n; i++) {
    System.out.println(i + ": " + message.getFrom()[0]
    + "\t" + message[i].getSubject());
    System.out.println("Do you want to read message? [YES to read/QUIT to end]");
    String line = reader.readLine();
    if ("YES".equals(line)) {
    System.out.println(message[i].getContent());
    } else if ("QUIT".equals(line)) {
    break;
    folder.close(false);
    store.close();
    In this code at the line :
    Store store = session.getStore("pop3");
    it throws an exception while executing the program : javax.mail.NoSuchProviderException : pop3
    i have placed the pop3mail.jar, mail.jar & activation.jar in my classpath still this is the problem.
    is there any other provider that is needed ? and if yes from where to get that and where to specify that ?
    reply highly appreciable .
    thanx

    Try changing the store/connection portion of your code from:
    Store store = session.getStore("pop3");
    store.connect("pop.mail.yahoo.com", username, password);
    tp:
    Store store = session.getStore("pop.mail.yahoo.com",username,password);
    store.connect();

  • Problem fetching File Path

    Hi
    I kept my file in D:\test\com\Login.class and specified the classpath as D:\test
    I am trying to run the above program from C:\ using the following command
    C:\>java com.Login
    Prgram executing perfectly.
    My problem is, i want to fetch the path for the above file (means D:\test\com\Login.class) in the program
    I am using System.getProperty("user.dir"); but it is returning C:\
    How can i get the file path in above case
    Thanks
    Hari

    Hi Hari,
    "System.getProperty("user.dir")" return curren working directory.
    As you wrote you start program from C:\ . It's why you got C:\.
    Try System.getProperty("java.class.path") + '\com\Login.class'
    Maybe you will get what you want.

  • Problem fetching multiple values in a TIMESTAMP column

    Hi all,
    I'm having a problem trying to fetch multiple values in a TIMESTAMP column. I can successfully fetch the TIMESTAMP column if I do the following:
    OCIDateTime tstmpltz = (OCIDateTime )NULL;
    rc = OCIDescriptorAlloc(p_env,(dvoid **)&tstmpltz, OCI_DTYPE_TIMESTAMP,
    0, (dvoid **)0);
    rc = OCIDefineByPos(p_sql, &p_dfn, p_err, 1, &tstmpltz, sizeof(tstmpltz),
    SQLT_TIMESTAMP, 0, 0, 0, OCI_DEFAULT);
    This works fine. I can then do what I want with the OCIDateTime variable tstmpltz, like convert it to a text string, etc.
    But what I am trying to do is fetch many rows of data that could include a TIMESTAMP column. For character columns this is no problem. I simply allocate a buffer of the correct width and length and then do my OCIDefineByPos to point to the start and the character data gets filled in. Same for numeric columns as well.
    I can do this with a TIMESTAMP column if I do the OCIDefineByPos with a column type of SQLT_CHR. But the problem I'm running into when I do things this way is if I fetch a Timestamp value that is before 1950 I believe it is, I get back the wrong century. So for instance 1900 comes back as 2000. I think this is because the default date format when fetching is a 2 digit year. So I've tried to the do following:
    long fetchrows = 50;
    unsigned char *descpp1;
    descpp1 = (unsigned char *)calloc(fetchrows, sizeof (OCIDateTime *));
    int i;
    for (i = 0; i != fetchrows; i++)
    /* Allocate descriptors */
    rc = OCIDescriptorAlloc((void *)p_env,(void **)&descpp1[i * sizeof (OCIDateTime *)], OCI_DTYPE_TIMESTAMP,
    0,(void **)0);
    // Bind the column
    rc = OCIDefineByPos(p_sql, &p_dfn, p_err, 1, descpp1, sizeof(descpp1),
    SQLT_TIMESTAMP, 0, 0, 0, OCI_DEFAULT);
    rc = OCIStmtExecute(p_svc, p_sql, p_err, (ub4) 50, (ub4) 0,
    (CONST OCISnapshot *) NULL, (OCISnapshot *) NULL,
    OCI_DEFAULT);
    And I get an "ORA-01403: no data found" error. I'm missing something here but I can't figure out what it is. Is this proper way to fetch multiple Timestamp columns ?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,
    I think the "trick" here is that when you call OCIDescriptorAlloc normally you would pass a pointer to an OCIDateTime pointer (i.e. OCIDateTime**). However, you're being sneaky here and using unsigned char * with malloc/calloc for the reasons you have already mentioned. So, that changes things a bit because in this scenario the "destination address" where OCI is going to put the address for the OCIDateTime descriptor is in the memory you have dynamically allocated rather than in the target pointer of an OCIDateTime** declaration. So far so good, but the problem, as you've discovered, comes about when you need to get the OCIDateTime* to pass into the OCIDateTimeToText function. In your call you have this:
    (OCIDateTime *)descpp1[0 * sizeof (OCIDateTime *)]However, that isn't the address of the descriptor it's a pointer to the address so, depending on your actual calls, etc. you'll either get a memory violation or an invalid OCI handle error. What you can do is get the address from that memory location and stuff it into a proper OCIDateTime* and then it can be used in the OCIDateTimeToText function.
    I'm probably doing a terrible job explaining it, but I have cobbled together a sample which does what you want (at least as far as I can tell). Of course, being OCI, there's a fair bit of code, but here's the main parts.
    I created a table called "ts_test" that has the following structure and sample data:
    SQL> desc ts_test
    Name             Null?    Type
    TS_ID                     NUMBER
    TS_VALUE                  TIMESTAMP(3)
    SQL> select * from ts_test order by ts_id;
         TS_ID TS_VALUE
             1 01-JAN-09 08.00.00.123 AM
             2 01-JAN-09 12.34.56.789 PM
             3 01-JAN-09 04.46.00.046 PM
             4 01-JAN-09 10.00.00.314 PM
    4 rows selected.I use the same query as above in the OCI sample code to get the values back out of the table.

    I know that, thrust me I am helping people,on forums too, but I explain to them why they should try the solution presented.I don't just suggest the solution and then say nothing about why am I suggesting it.
    I was upset because nowhere no one mentiones this problem and my room mate is have the same problem wright now. Luckally I now know that he just have to hold on until that first upgrade finishes. And please don't accuse me for not searching a solution, I searched it for 3 hours  untill I had enough. That was the prime reason why I was mad, belive me.
    No hard feelings, and appologize for bursting out like I did and bumping my thread like crazy.

  • Problems with iPhone 3g chip?

    Hello
    Ok so here's the deal. We got a 3g tower put up near where I live. The morning it was in use I was able to use 3g for about 30 minutes flawlessly. Since then 3g will not hold a signal and drops down to edge when I load a webpage. I have all 5 bars on 3g and edge. I called the nearest att store and I asked where the tower was located and it's about 3 miles away from me. But it still refuses to stay on 3g for more than a couple minutes. The only way I can get back on 3g is by going to airplane mode and then turning it off, or by turning the phone off.
    Today at school a friend has a motorola razr and was able to use 3g and his never went to edge network. The school I go to is about 15 miles from school.
    So long story short is there something wrong with the 3g chip or something?

    Don't confuse cell tower spacing with range. Spacing is generally 1 to 2 miles (some times as close as a quarter of a mile) to deal with high density of users located in a given area (because each tower can handle a finite number of calls at one time), and also to accommodate talking while driving. Also not all those towers belong to the same carrier.
    Cell Range is in the neighborhood of 25 miles for GSM and up to 45 miles for CDMA (which the iPhone does not use).
    If the OP is within 3 miles he is absolutely in the sweet spot of reception from that tower.

  • Problem fetch large number of records

    Hi
    I want to fetch large number of record from database.and I use secondary index database for improve performance for example my database has 100000 records and query fetch 10000 number of records from this database .I use secondary database as index and move to secondary database until fetch all of the information that match for my condition.but when I move to this loop performance terrible.
    I know when I use DB_MULTIPLE fetch all of the information and performance improves but
    I read that I can not use this flag when I use secondary database for index.
    please help me and say me the flag or implement that fetch all of the information all to gether and I can manage this data to my language
    thanks alot

    Hi Saeed,
    Could you post here your source code, that is compiled and ready to be executed, so we can take a look at the loop section ?
    You won't be able to do bulk fetch, that is retrieval with DB_MULTIPLE given the fact that the records in the primary are unordered by master (you don't have 40K consecutive records with master='master1'). So the only way to do things in this situation would be to position with a cursor in the secondary, on the first record with the secondary key 'master1' retrieve all the duplicate data (primary keys in the primary db) one by one, and do the corresponding gets in the primary database based on the retrieved keys.
    Though, there may be another option that should be taken into consideration, if you are willing to handle more work in your source code, that is, having a database that acts as a secondary, in which you'll update the records manually, with regard to the modifications performed in the primary db, without ever associating it with the primary database. This "secondary" would have <master> as key, and <std_id>, <name> (and other fields if you want to) as data. Note that for every modification that your perform on the std_info database you'll have to perform the corresponding modification on this database as well. You'll then be able to do the DBC->c_get() calls on this database with the DB_MULTIPLE flag specified.
    I have other question.is there any way that fetch information with number of record?
    for example fetch information that located third record of my database.I guess you're refering to logical record numbers, like the relational database's ROW_ID. Since your databases are organized as BTrees (without the DB_RECNUM flag specified) this is not possible directly.You could perform this if use a cursor and iterate through the records, and stop on the record whose number is the one you want (using an incrementing counter to keep track of the position). If your database could have operated with logical record numbers (BTree with DB_RECNUM, Queue or Recno) this would have been possible directly:
