Many sites which offer specific "print formatted" pages do that: they assume that once you have finished with the print dialog you no longer want the page itself. So for your convenience they close it. Not so convenient for you, since you still want to view the page.
I'm not aware of an easy solution for this. I can think of a couple different approaches.
First, maybe there's an add-on to solve this? That would be easiest.
Second, maybe there's a userscript to solve this?
The Greasemonkey add-on runs userscripts which you can copy or download. Be careful to install only long-establish and trusted scripts. (''Is there a site that has this bad behavior that I can view without logging in? I will test one of my existing scripts to see whether it helps.'')
Third, Firefox has an old system for restricting site permissions in a custom text file in your profile folder (named user.js). Editing this file is a bit advanced, and I haven't been able to test it, but the system works along these lines:

Do you have separate apple Ids? If not, set up a new Id for one of you. Ios 6 uses the apple Id to send messages across devices, that may be the issue you are having.

I cannot use FF 9.0 on my work computer--it cannot connect to any site. FF 8.0 works great, and I want to keep it. But no matter how many times I uninstall 9.0 and re-install 8.0--UNchecking the box for automatic updated--9.0 keeps re-installing automatically after a day or two. How do I stop this?
Sorry, Swanarva, It didn't work as it was supposed to. I downloaded, saved file, clicked the download to open, clicked 'run' then got an error message that it couldn't find the file(!) . No idea what happened or why. Should I have uninstalled Firefox first, then downloaded Firefox 8 using another browser or downloaded, uninstalled Firefox 09 beta then tried installing Firefox 8?
At this rate, IE is looking good, despite its shortcomings. -
Catalog question....and thanks for your help in advance!
I have one big catalog with about 6,000 photos in it.
I really need to start working in annual catalogs since all my photography is about my family and what we do together or images within the geography our family travels.
I wish to move all my photos and the current catalog to another drive which will serve as storage and backup as I begin another catalog for images captured in 2010.
Does this make sense or am I missing something. Eventually I will have the internal drive on my computer holding the current catalog and Lightroom itself and a second drive that will hold prior catalogs and be the retrieval source and finally a third drive that will backup both all the files on drives one and two weekly or greater.
Are there errors in my plans that I don't foresee? Also...can I create a new catalog that has all the keywords of the old catalog before any file is added to it?

A few months ago, I purchased two USB drives (120M each, which is big enough
for my needs, for now) for each of the computers in my house. I labelled
them in pairs (e.g. "RobsComputer-1" and "RobsComputer-2", "Kids-1" and
"Kids-2") and plugged the -1 drive into each machine. Every 6 hours,
SyncBack (http://www.2brightsparks.com/index.html) runs on each machine and
does a full system backup (all drives) to its external drive.
Once a month, I swap the -1 and the -2, and stick the offline one in my
barn, which is a couple of hundred feet from the house.
If a computer fails, I've got a very current backup on the attached external
drive. If someone breaks in and steals a computer, I've got an
at-most-a-month-old backup in the barn. Ditto if the house burns down. If
something horrendous enough happens that the barn is destroyed too, I
imagine I'll have worse problems than missing data and pictures.
I suppose if I were really paranoid, I'd take the offline drive to my office
or a safe deposit box, but as another poster said, that's a real pain in the
neck. An alternative would be to take it to a friend's house or something
like that.
If I ever have some event that I absolutely don't want to lose pictures of,
I manually trigger the backup and swap the drives as soon as it's done.

HI!, When updating to ios 7, my airport does not function in my ipad and iphone. No icon appears ...I´ve check I´ve got last firmware on aiport utility, and also I´ve restart both devices... buth still not working
Restart your AirPort Base Station or other router if that's what you have. Unplug it and allow a moment or two for it to reset before plugging it back in again.
If that does not work, try resetting your network settings: on the iPad and iPhone, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, select your network then "Forget this Network". Select the network again, provide its password, and verify you can connect.
If that does not work, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Select your network again as above.
If that does not work, "hard reset" your AirPort Base Station, assuming you are using one and not some third party product. You will need to reconfigure it using AirPort Utility. -

satishkb.com.
When you create the first domain controller in your organization, you are creating the first domain (also called the
forest root domain) and the first forest.
The Enterprise Admins and Schema Admins groups are located in this domain. By default, members of these two groups have forest-wide administrative credentials.
So you should be able to login to satish.com DC, by using fisrt domain's satishkb\administrator and password from the first DC admin account (Used to install the first DC)
NOTE:- "new domain name is showing there (satish.com)" This can be changed by typing satishkb\ on the username field.
Secondly what was the objective that you were trying to achieve.
Do you remeber which option did you select in the below screen.

don't know what or how but anytime i open ff or open a new tab or link ff wants to automatically download tabs, pages, or links, anything...how or what do i do to stop this...it's only ff cuz i opened ie and it's not doing what ff does when doing the same...

When I'm on microsoft word on my macbook air and get to the bottom a the page, a new page does not come up. i have to manually insert one. so then when i go back to edit my work and add something in what ever was at the bottom of the page disappears. how can i stop this from happening or change it so a new page opens by itself?
It sounds like you have chosen a publishing template rather than a word processing template. There are two basic modes in MS Word: word processing and publishing layout. Word processing mode (and all word processing templates) have a continuous text box in the page for writing text. The publishing layout mode (and publishing templates) are documents that have text boxes placed for articles, titles, pictures, etc. Be sure to choose the word document template and you’ll get what you expect. Do not choose the word publishing document.

Lori MazeyDoes that happen when you use the Back button? If so, don't use the Back button, right-click or click-hold that Back button and use the Back / Forward history menu that appears to load the previous page from that menu. That should avoid the appearance of that security warning message, which can't be turned off. If that is happening on web pages that don't involve financial transactions, that website really should be fixed so that security message doesn't appear.

1) any I want, I save into a file on my comp, not in the email program
2) when I deleate at least once a week I delete the deleted files
I donot use the deleted folder as storage
ON my previous email I had it to empty the deleted folder on closing the program, more sence
3) This is a dusy about 10 or more yrs ago ! I compacted my email because my disk space was low, guess what! IT used up the space I had and locked my computer that I had to format the drive!!
SO in my opinion compacting does not save disk space! ITS B S
4) I have read that your compactor slowes down the email program

Have two iPhones with the same id as I got hubbie one in week and when I got it they asked for email address so I gave the one we use, so when my husband started phone up he just put my password in. When he tried to back his numbers on iCloud they all appeared on my phone and now I can't delete his numbers without them deleting on his phone as well . Any help would be appreciated.
You'll have to migrate one of the phones to a different account, then delete the other person's data from each account (you can continue to share the same Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores).
Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account. On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud. The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.) When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom). Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't from each account.
