The Extent Storage Structure

Hi,
I have been reflecting over the rationale behind having the extent storage structure in Oracle databases. Because my knowledge of Oracle database administration is rather limited, I could only come up with some meager explanations for the rationale behind having extents in the database storage hierarchy.
Here is my explanation, which I would appreciate if you could add to or correct if necessary. While allocating disk space to say an index segment, it makes sense to allocate a chunk of contiguous data blocks to the segment at one time so that when Oracle has to perform I/O, the seek time and rotational delay for all but the first block is eliminated for each extent in the segment. In addition, keeping track of free space in extents via bitmaps is far more efficient than having to keep track of free space in individual data blocks, since the number of extents in a data file would be significantly less than the number of data blocks in that file, resulting in the bitmap of extents being far smaller.
Plus, I would appreciate if you could highlight where Oracle stores overhead information for an extent, i.e. information like the number of data blocks it contains, the segment it belongs to, etc.

Windows Live Mail Storage Structure in Win Explorer not the same as folder Structure in WLM

How do i make the storage folder structure in Win7 Windows Explorer reflect EXACTLY how i have my email folders structured in WLM? I have several sub-folders in WLM that don't appear in the Win7 Windows Explorer folder structure, and Windows Explorer has

Note however that the WLM 'file structure' is essentially different to the Windows file structure, so what you appear to want to do may not be possible.

How do I restore the default folder structure in my iPhone internal storage?

The music folder is missing from the internal storage folder so I can't sync anything to my iphone 4. I do have a small amount of music on my phone though? I can't see where that is stored however. How do i rectify this?

It was certainly happy enough to let me MAKE a LVG with multiple LVFs. Do you mean it just doesn't support encryption on a LVG with multiple LVFs?

How can I batch move files to the same folder structure in a different location?

I recently had an issue with my iTunes Library so I used the Organize Library feature to have iTunes organise my library. What happened was that it put all of my music in a folder called 'Music' on my external hard drive, whereas previously it was not in a folder at all, e.g.
BEFORE: External Hard Drive / Abba / Greatest Hits / Mama Mia.m4a
AFTER: External Hard Drive / Music / Abba / Greatest Hits / Mama Mia.m4a
I don't have any particular issue with the updated folder structure, except that I had copies of the artwork for each album in my album folders, and these weren't moved when the audio files were moved/consolidated/organised. So I need to find a way of moving all of the artwork to the new folders, e.g.
External Hard Drive / Abba / Greatest Hits / folder.jpg
needs to become:
External Hard Drive / Music / Abba / Greatest Hits / folder.jpg
I have to do this for 3,000+ albums, and I have multiple artwork files for some albums, so I am hoping that there is a way of doing this using a batch/automated method of some kind, but I haven't been able to turn up anything yet.
Can someone help with this?

You can make a smart playlist containing episodes of both series and play from that. Podcasts are linked together by the URL they are served from so merging ongoing series isn't really practical.

Not Printing the source storage bin in the layout

As i am printing the layout to pick the goods for delivery, in which iam not getting the source storage bin for some deliveries only. sometimes its picking and some times not, what has been the reason behind it. i have take the help of an Ababper to check the conditions if any for that filed. but i cannot find any.

If they were put there via iTunes sync process, then simply untick the Music box before syncing again.

When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account, and enter your Apple ID password. Then sign in with the new ID.
NOTE: "Delete Account" just means it will be deleted from the iPad. The account itself will not be deleted.

How does one clear the Local Storage in Safari 6.0?

I used to be able to delete the cookies in the Local Stiorage folder. But the old path ~/Library/Safari/LocalStorage doesn't exist anymore since the system got updated to OSX 10.7.4 and Safari 6.0. And as ever emptying the cache via the develop drop-down menue doesn't clear the cookies stored in Local Storage.
I am totally at loss, where these cookies are hiding in my system but really want to get rid of them. Firefox is an alternative but it is tiresome to use this browser as it keeps on blocking things I want to do or asking me a little bit too frequently for permission etc. Can anyone explain the Local Storage issue to me please?

hpr3, thanks for your response but you didn't read my post correctly. I am not referring to 'normal' cookies. The ones which are stored under the section Local Storage are special and survive the general 'clear all website data' action via Safari's preferences. I know several people have pointed this out before me. I was able to clear these cookies in the Local Storage folder before but it was always quite a lot of 'clicking through' to be done and one had to go through the Finder via user/library/safari/local storage etc. I recall there was a folder involved named Macromedia as well. But with the upgrade of the operating system and Safari this path doesn't exist anymore.
If you clear the cookies via preferences, then click out of Privacy and back in, you might notice that even though you haven't used your web browser at all, there are still cookies which magically re-appear. And they are tagged as Local Storage.
Now, can anyone else come up with a helpful answer?

HT4847 i have done a factory restore on my ipad. i backed everything up but some of my apps are not up. i did however find them in the manage storage under my device. is there a way to restore the app back to my main screen?
