"The fed has no episodes"?

I made a podcast uaing Garageband 3, then I made a simple podcast page in iWeb. I went to File-Submit podcast to iTunes, and when it loaded iTunes, it put the feed into the fed bar in the submit podcast page. I pressed continue, and the message "The feed has no episoes" popped up. I am not surprised that something went wrong, but can somenone help me find out what it is?

Yeah... you don't have any <itunes:> tags.
You were saying that you made a podcast page in iWeb... I don't have any experience with that program, I run a windows machine and manually type in the
tags when I want to post an episode, then re-upload the .xml file to my server via FTP.
Try this...
this is my rss feed... notice how I have iTunes tags such as <itunes:subtitle>. I copied this directly from the Podcast Technical Specs and just re-typed the info between the tags.
http://www.lancerortho.com/ryan/podcast/itunes.xml
Now, save the link above to your computer. Open it in a plain-text editor (such as notepad for windows). Between the tags, delete my info and re-type in yours. re-save the file and upload it to your web server.
Go to iTunes and submit another feed, the one that you just uploaded. After it has been approved, see if the problem is fixed.
Sorry this is so long, but this works for me all the time.

• Podcast Help! "The Feed has no Episodes" (Using Feeder)

Hey All!
I have seen this topic posted before but no within a user using the feeder software. I created a feed and podcast as per the manual but when I submit the URL (ttp://www.deadlyrhythms.com/podcasts/DnBForumTest.xml) i get the "The Feed has no Episodes"
any ideas what I need to do?
And does anyone know if I can create "chapters" in feeder? - Thanks alot!
Regards, Mark

http://www.deadlyrhythms.com/podcasts/DnBForumTest.xml
In NetNewsWire Lite this feed shows one test posting - a blog-type page, not a podcast episode directly.
Your XML file gives this as the URL for your audio file:
http://www.deadlyrhythms.com/YStrict(FinishedBouncew.mp3
Note the open bracket which should presumably be a slash.
Have a look at this page for advice about podcasts:

• Error: "The feed has no episodes" when submitting podcast

I keep getting the error " The feed has no episodes" when I try to submit my podcast. I know the xml is properly formatted because I'm not getting any errors when viewing it in a browser. I assume I must be missing some tag that is required my iTunes. Can anyone help me figure this out? See code below. I can get the podcast to show up in my playlist but there are no episodes associated with it there either.

• "the feed has no episodes"

Hi all -
I've browsed similar queries and haven't gotten the answer I'm looking for.
I've set up a feed here: http://www.fearlessradio.com/feeds/recentpodcasts.xml and tried to submit it to iTunes and it gives me the error: the feed has no episodes
I can subscribe manually to the feed as well and have no trouble downloading the podcasts.
I got these recommendations from FEEDValidator:
Recommendations
This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.
Your feed appears to be encoded as "UTF-8", but your server is reporting "US-ASCII" [help]
line 14, column 46: Email address is missing real name [help]

^
line 44, column 47: Email address is missing real name (108 occurrences) [help]

line 2058, column 4: Missing atom:link with rel="self" [help]

Are any of these errors causing the issue (I doubt the missing name has anything to do with it, of course).
Any help would be appreciated!

UPDATE: I cleared up the missing atom:link with rel="self" and the email address missing real name issues and still am having no luck...

• Tumblr / Feedburner 'The feed has no episodes.' issue

Hi there,
I am trying to submit a new podcast feed from Tumblr via Feedburner to iTunes but I am getting the infamous 'feed has no episodes' problem and I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
The site url is www.crossingzebras.com
The RSS feed from the site itself is feed://crossingzebras.com/rss
The feedburner RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/CrossingZebras
I'm guessing this may be an 'enclosure' issue but I was under the impression that Feedburner tidied this all away for me? Would appreciate any assistance on this one.
Thanks,
Dave

Only the episode of April 8th has an mp3 file in it; and this episode does not appear in the Feedburner feed. Furthermore, the April 8th episode does not have an 'enclosure' tag necessary for iTunes. Feedburner will not add enclosure tags if they are not present in the original.
iTunes does not dispay any episode which does not have an 'enclosure' tag containing the URL of a media file.
This page includes a basic sample feed so you can see what one should look like:

• ITunes says "the feed has no episodes", despite being a validated feed.

I am trying to post the following:
http://www.thestreamguide.com/xml.php?channelid=128
which is dynamically created by a website I host. This was never a problem in the past - iTunes always accepted submissions without complaint. In fact, there are a number of podcasts created by this site already on iTunes!
When I open it directly in iTunes ('Subscribe to a podcast'), it works like a charm.
It also validated perfectly via feedvalidator.org. Does anyone have any ideas what I could missing here?

Got it (I think/hope)!!! Each one of your items has <itunes:block>yes</itunes:block> which means that iTunes won't see it (see http://www.feedforall.com/itune-tutorial-tags.htm#block). Either take it out or change it to no in the original feed, and see what happens.
(I'd still advise not using periods in your file names - it might work with iTunes but other podcatchers may have a problem.)
Let us know what happens,
Greg

• 3GP feed - The feed has no episodes

Hey iTuners,
Can someone please help me work out why the feed at:
http://www.oneminuteworld.com/omw-rss.xml
Works in itunes when you subscribe manually, but thinks there's no episodes when I try to submit it to the podcast directory?
Thanks!

.3gp files are often playable in iTunes or Quicktime, but it's not a filetype that iTunes podcasting formally supports. Use Quicktime or another tool to convert from 3gp to mov (or m4v or mp4) file type and it will be visible to the iTunes signup process when you submit the podcast.

• Why do I not have access to all the features of my Canon MG5320 printer in all applications which use a printer? The printer has two paper paths. The rear path is used for photo paper and other specialty papers. this is only one "unavailable".

I have an iMac late 2012 with OSX 10.8.
The MG5320 has two paper feed paths; one at the rear for photo paper, brochure paper, and other specialty papers and a tray for regular 8½x11 paper. It also can print on CDs and DVDs and has an automatic duplexer. Canon provides a utility for printing on the CDs and DVDs and also for printing photos and other specialty items. This is available in Mac format also. I installed the most recent drivers and utilities.
I also have a HP IBM Compatible computer on which the above printer as well as an Epson are installed. Every option of each printer is available in every software application that has need for a printer.
The Mac printer dialog varies from one application to another. The only applications that list the option for selecting paper quality which includes photo paper are Office for Mac, Pages, and Numbers. Not likely that I would be using any of these for photo printing. Auto duplexing, however, is not available here or in any other applications.
The print dialog in Aperture, Photoshop Elements for Mac, ACDSee for Mac, or iPhoto provide the choice of numerous sizes of paper but no option for paper quality. Therefore, I attempted to use the print utility supplied by Canon and updated by Apple for printing some photos. The photos are selected in this utility. When the print command was given I was shown a message that the printer was being reset. It then began printing a spreadsheet, which was not even open, from the front tray on regular paper in fast draft quality.
It is essential that the rear feed be available for printing photos. The printer will not accept photo paper from the front tray. The greater proportion of my printing is photos or other specialty items all of which use paper that must be fed from the rear feed.
An acquaintence who considers himself to be somewhat of a Mac expert insists that the printer options that I require are available and all I need to do is look for them. The print dialog should be clear enough that "looking for options" is not a necessity. Even so, I have dilligently searched every variation of the Mac print dialog on my iMac and only the office type applications named above included anything other than the basic printer functions.
I have also searched numerous locations online without finding a solution. I did, however, find that printing and printing problems seem to be common with several versions of the Mac OS and Mac computers in general.
I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a solution. I have no desire to upgrade my Windows OS to Windows 8 which is perhaps suitable for "smart" phones but not desktop computers. However, because of the printing issue I have temporarily put my iMac aside and reverted to using my PC with Windows Vista.
Help!!

This is a user forum I feel you need to deal with Adobe customer services or support chat did not work in you case.

• "this feed has no episodes" error when submitting to iTunes

Hey there,
This is probably a simple fix but I can't seem to figure it out as I am very new to this. My link is here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/VolumizePodcast
When I submit this link to iTunes it says "this feed has no episodes"
Any ideas?

Firstly, your feed is all on one line with no line breaks: this makes it very difficult to read. I was able to get round this by automatically inserting a line break after every >, but it would be better to write the feed with breaks. It doesn't affect the validity, but it makes it much easier to troubleshoot.
Episodes are contained within the
and
tags: there are two such tags in your feed. For iTunes the actual media file is references within the
tag within the
tag. Your second
has no enclosure tag at all. The first has a tag:

but as you see it is referencing another feed file, so iTunes will not see it as an episode.
The feed it references does contain an enclosure tag with a media file, though the name of the file contains spaces (replaced with %20 in the feed) which it shouldn't. It validates at http://www.feedvalidator.org but does not contain an iTunes category tag. The feed you listed in your post does not validate.
If you submit the feed at http://djaaronjoseph.adej.net/volumize_podcast.xml to iTunes it will probably be accepted, but you need to do more work on it first.
You might care to look at this page, which gives a sample feed and a basic description of how to set up a podcast:
http://www.wilmut.org.uk/pc
and also Apple's rather more detailed tech note:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/whatson/podcasts/specs.html
I might add that Feedburner is notorious for writing messy feeds, and that you would always do better to submit a feed directly to iTunes rather than letting Feedburner do it.

• Why is the Good Wife latest episode still not available on Itunes Canada?

why is the Good Wife latest episode still not available on Itunes Canada?

FYI, the two episodes currently missing from iTunes Canada (Nov 17 "The Next Month" and Nov 24 "Whack-a-Mole") are available online for Global TV "subscribers":
http://www.globaltv.com/thegoodwife/
None of us are realy "Global TV subscribers", we are customers of one TV service provider or another, aka cable and satellite companies. Alas, I am in the situation where my service provider - Bell TV - has apparently not yet reached an agreement with Global, so I am hooped twice. I paid iTunes for a season pass that seems to have stopped delvering content. And I pay Bell TV for content which Global says I can only get in online form once Global and Bell reach some kind of agreement, although Shaw, Telus and Cogeco subscribers are already receiving it.
https://www.globaltv.com/signin/
Be nice if these companies could get their acts together, especially Apple iTunes.
I've paid them $49.99 for the Good Wife season pass.

I have installed an IP address tracker into/on all of the websites I publish that tells me who comes a peeking and a snoppin
3 days ago I posted a very simple question about an issue I was having with an issue with an image swap with image maps on my portfolio page I made in Dreamweaver CS6 on the Dreamweaver forum WITH the URL to just my portfolio page.
Now keep in mind there is NOTHING derogatory, political, inflamed or even fattening what so ever on that page or any of my websites.
But since the day I posted on the adobe forums with that pages URL I have had many visits from the following organizations
The U.S. Department of Justice Us Dept Of Justice (149.101.1.117)

Now while it would be easy to play this off as mere coinsadences, it is doubtful these AGENCIES my tax dollars paid for just happened to visit "NOT MY SITE" but the very PAGE of my site I posted in the forum almost immediately after I posted it in the forums!!!!! Now I am getting e-mails from Adobe Ringers/shills/hacks and patsies telling me there is nothing to worry about and to not loose any sleep over it!
It is obvious one of 2 things or both are in play here…
ADOBE works with the feds or ADOBE is the FEDS!
Either ADOBE sends any and all communication to the feds OR allows the FEDS- NSA, DHS, FBI, or whatever (Insert Evil Empire Darth Vader Music here) to rummage through their correspondences of their niece clientele.
AND what is even more upsetting is My website(s) are not political at all or motivated and or derogatory and or issue based what so ever. GOD help anyones website built via adobe products that are Politically motivated!

Search engines do what they do, they follow links. Google followed the links, Bing followed the links and who knows who else. These things happen when you post links on the internet to very public websites (even without the Star Wars reference). If you do not want people following links, don't post them.
BTW, I would not be surprised if all the actvity you saw was all innocent. There probably are Adobe Dreamweaver users in each of thost organizations that regularly read Adobe forums. There has a whole bunch spam get on Adobe Forums and Microsoft Answers forum lately. a lot of squirrely on the net lately. I am so tired of it lately I've been reporting a lot more Spam threads both here and Microsoft.

• Problem uloading podcast to iTunes: "this feed has no episodes"

Hey guys,
I have been trying to upload my podcast to iTunes.
The RSS feed of the show is this: http://syn.org.au/not_used/2662
When I entered this into the iTunes page it said "this feed has no episodes."
So I went to the website www.feedburner.com and followed the instructions.
They gave me a new feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/org/topfiveblank
When I entered this the same message appeared.
What should I do?

IngmarHerzog wrote:
If I re-uploaded the episodes to the original RSS feed without the spaces would the feed be recognised by iTunes?
No, because the feed is not formatted as a podcast feed (though it's a start!). You have to construct a feed which complies to the format demonstrated in the page I linked to, or use a podcast creation program or service to construct the feed for you.
I can't advise on hosting service. Be careful with free ones: they have to get their money somehow and it often involves adverts being added. Media files hosted this way sometimes turn up in web pages offering playing or download, and this won't work: the hosting has to offer unencumbered direct access to the feed and media files.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks!

Your episodes have no playable media. Each episode should include an 'enclosure' tag containing the URL or an mp3, m4a, m4v or mov file. You don't have any enclosure tags, only a link to something with a php extension.
This page may help you: it gives some information about creating a podcast and includes a sample basic feed:

• The Unit, Season 4, Episode 9 "Shadow Riders" Audio Not Encoded Properly

Purchased a season pass for "The Unit" season 4. The most recent episode, 9: "Shadow Riders" has an issue where the audio has not been encoded properly. The episode opens with ambient soundscape and soundtrack, however no dialog is audible. This continues the entire duration of the episode making it unwatchable.
Apple, please issue an update to this episode that has been encoded correctly.
(repost of http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1803771&tstart=15 -- unsure where to post)

To report, you have to click on the season pass in your purchase history which then opens up all the individual episodes. Glad apple is on it. Here is the reply I just got which is a little unsatisfactory in that they just say come back in a few weeks.... I'd prefer a look into it, fix it, then e-mail me cycle.
"I understand that you received a download of "The Unit" that has an issue with the dialogue sound. I'm sorry to learn that this item did not meet the standard of quality you have come to expect from the iTunes Store.
I have reversed the charge for the purchase. The credit of $1.95 for that episode should be posted within five business days.
I have also submitted this item for investigation. Apple takes the quality of the items offered on the iTunes Store seriously and will investigate the issue with this item, but I can't say when or if the issue will be resolved. Please try again in a few weeks.
Please ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements, and that iTunes and QuickTime are up to date on your computer. To play purchased videos, you need iTunes 7 or later and must meet the "Additional Video Requirements", which are listed on this page under the Windows/Mactinosh system requirements:"
