Hi, I am working with NI 6251. I need to measure the phase between two sine signals. I used "Tone Measurements" on each signal and then substracted there phases, but the result was incorrected. Please, help me to solve this problem.

hi all. i want to create two sin signals with different parameters using function generator.vi example. i tried to modify the example by copying the code and try to output two sin signals on different channels of the DAQ but error message saying that you are validating of the AO write buffer . attached is the file. how can i modify it to solve the problem?!

Using Measurement Studio (Vis. Basic), I'm trying to calculate as a numerical value the total or average power between two stated frequencies of the AutoPowerSpectrum. The PowerFrequencyEstimate Method gets me part of the way there. Using appropriate values of the input variables SearchFreq and Span, I divided the range between my two frequencies into 12 segments and let PowerFrequencyEstimate find the frequency and its power at the highest point in each segment. Then I added the 12 resulting powers. Since these are power values at several peaks, not average power over a given frequency range, it's not exactl

Most people here won't do your homework for you. If you make an attempt yourself and get stuck then post your code (wrapped in code tags for easy reading), include any errors you get and what line they occur on and most of all ask a specific question. Don't just say "It doesn't work".
However, your assignment mentions that you are not allowed to use inbuilt C/C++ functions. This is a Java forum. Although the languages are similar and some here have C experience, try posting in a C forum.

Hi there - I think I am having problems associated withg Cause 9 in that in google mail I have another pop email address associated so that I can send using this email address, but then I have both addresses setup seperately in BIS. When I receive a mail from GMAIL I receive a duplicate with "received by: unknown" in the header. I had gmail setup so that it would send using by pop email address as default.
In your answer the settings for the two filters you recommend creating are broken links and I canot actually see them. What are they?
Also What do you recommend setup wise with gmail and a pop account. Some people say it is better to get gmail to receive the pop mail account and run the whole account from there. Blackberry doesn't seem to like this setup very much. Should I completely dissociate the pop account and to try and clarify the distinction between the two? Or should I setup a second gmail account and have that poll my pop account and then have the blackberry feed off these two gmail accounts? The reason I am considering this option is gmail provides a lot of storage and online continuity and this would effectively persist my account.
Your help would be much appreciated.. I have had blackberry woes now for over a month and I have spent hours with various support personel, tried deleteing and sending down new service books etc etc but had no luck yet.

Actually we have 100's of such reports, so it cannt be done mannually for each.
Wondering if there is any process that we can run some script and automate the process instead of manual effort.
here is little more explanation of my situation
i got a big Subject Area with hunders of reports created.
but now we have a requirement of spliting the Big SA to number of Diff SA's (for user visibility) where the measures are splited into diff subject areas.
now the reports need to be modified accordingly based on the measures of which subject area needs to be....
hope this makes clear.

Hi.
You can also use Oracle analytic functions LAG and LEAD inside the EVALUATE obiee function. The second one will give you the next measure.
For example the report is:
TIMES.CALENDAR_MONTH_DESC
SALES.AMOUNT_SOLD
LAG column: EVALUATE('LAG(%1, 1) OVER (ORDER BY %2)' AS DOUBLE, SALES.AMOUNT_SOLD, TIMES.CALENDAR_MONTH_DESC)
LEAD column: EVALUATE('LEAD(%1, 1) OVER (ORDER BY %2)' AS DOUBLE, SALES.AMOUNT_SOLD, TIMES.CALENDAR_MONTH_DESC)
And the result is:

FRF Problem about amplitudes of two sine signals

Hi everyone,
I'm carrying out a FRF operation between two acquised signals, so I decided to simulate it simply first.I created two dummy sine signals with 50 Hz frequency value and "1" amplitude level for both.And I divide the second signal with a integer and took the FRF function between them, as below.
as expected for all frequencies, the result is 0,5 which comes from the ratio of sig2 to sig1.
But, when I changed the integer value to a float, 1,3 for example, it results nonsense;
Why these two processes do not match?

Jeff, am I understanding right, you're saying that the graph shows the sum of the errors that caused by the uncertainity? And there is another thing, when the data is not simulated but acquised, there will be not a precise amplitude and frequency valuei will it the FRF block go crazy then ?
I've tried that process with several post-processing softwares; MATLAB, dbFA Suite (A vibratory daq system interface). All results different
Do you have any suggestions to solve that? Or can it be corrected?

Performance between two partitionned tables with different structure

Hi,
I would like if there is a difference between two partitionned tables with different structure in term of performance (access, query, insertions, updates ).
I explain myself in detail :
I have a table that stores one value every 10 minutes in a day (so we have 144 values (24*6) in the whole day), with the corresponding id.
Here is the structure :

+ id PK |
+ date PK |
+ sample1 |
+ sample2 |
+ ... |
+ sample144 |
The table is partionned on the column date, with a partionned every months. The primary key is based on the columns (id, date).
There is an additionnal index on the column (id) (is it useful ?).
I would like to know if it is better to have a table with just (id, date, value) , so for one row in the first table we'll have 144 rows in the future? table. The partition will already be on the columns (id, date) with the index associated.
What are the gains or loss in performance with this new structure ( access, DMLs , storage ) ?
I discuss with the Java developers and they say it is simpler to manage in their code.

About structure : TABLE1(id, date, value) is better than TABLE1(id, date, sample1, .... sample144)because
1) oracle has restriction for numbers of column. Ok you can have 144 columns now but for future if you must have more than 1000 columns , what will you do?
2) Restrictions on Table Compression (Table compression is not supported for tables with more than 255 columns.)
3) store same type values on diffrent columns is bad practise

Sine signal with alternating frequencies.

I am interested in generating a sine signal whose frequency and amplitude change after every cycle. For example: lets assume we have two amplitudes a1, a2 and frequencies f1 and f2.
I want a sine signal with a1, f1 and a2, f2 alternatingly. One sine pulse a1,f1 and other sine pulse a2,f2 and this pattern repeats.

I would make an array for your amplitudes and frequencies. Use a FOR loop to create the waveforms and concatinate.

I would like the share an iTunes library between two different accounts on one Mac. How do I do this?

iTunes no longer works properly (aka at all) while using one of the user accounts set up on my iMac. It does, however, work when logging in under another user account on the same iMac. (if any of you can help me solve this issue that would be perfect). If there is no solution can anyone help with my request to share an iTunes library between two different accounts on one Mac. How do I do this?

Copy it to his computer into his iTunes library and authorize his computer with the iTunes account used to purchase them..
You cannot tranfser items from one iTunes account to another. Purchased items remain part of the iTunes account is was purchased with.

Using the same photos and music between two user accounts in the same Mac

I think this question might have already been asked in the forum.
1. I have one MacBook Pro and two user accounts (One for me and one for my wife)
2. We are having two seperate iPhones with seperate AppleIDs
3. We want to maintain the apps / calendar / mail / reminders / contacts as seperate - Through iCloud (Seperate Apple ID approach) - All this is fine
4. All we want to have it shared is the Music files and the Photo library without duplicating
I have tried the shared folder approach for the music and having the iTunes point to that directory for the libary location in the preferences but unfortunately if she adds a folder to the library mine does not get updated unless I do a add folder to library and vice versa.
Whats the best way to deal with the Photos / Music sharing between two user accounts on the same mac

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.

How do you work out the number of days difference between two dates?

I'm running Crystal v12.
We use a date field in our SQL database that we use to store the client's year end date.
As the year end date (date and month) doesn't change for a client, the year end date field in all of our reports is set to just show the DD/MM part. Over the years as new clients are set up we just enter the date and month - the year part is irrelevant although as in all date fields the year is automatically entered.
Doing it this way means that we don't have to adjust the year end year part each year. We just use the DD/MM part.
I need to create a formula that works out the number of days there have been (i.e. the difference) from the current date to the year end date. It MUST EXCLUDE the year however.
For example:
Year End Date = 30/04/03
Current Date = 25/05/10
Days Difference (EXCLUDING year) = 25
Days Difference (including year) = 2582
Year End Date = 31/03/09
Current Date = 25/05/09
Days Difference (EXCLUDING year) = 55
Days Difference (including year) = 420
If you include the year part then working out day difference is simply a case of creating a formula that subtracts the year end date from the current date (CurrentDate - {tblClient.YearEnd}.
HOWEVER I need to exclude the year part.
Can anyone tell me the formula or best way to do this?

You can try this
datevar e := date(year(currentdate),month({tblClient.YearEnd}),day({tblClient.YearEnd}));
numbervar num_days := datediff("d",currentdate,e)
Create a datevar called e that uses the original month and day numbers for {tblClient.YearEnd} but uses the year of the current date
Then just datediff on e to get the number of days between the two dates

How can I calculate the maximum number of days between two dates in a range of dates?

I have a column of dates spanning the couse of a few months. I would like to know if I can calculate the maximum number of days between each row and display the highest number. I currently have another column that calculates the days betwen the rows and I am currently just looking at the totals and highlighting the highest period.
Is this possible? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

This sounds totally possible, Can you post a screen shot of your table to make responding more focused? If you mean you want to:
A) compute the difference (in days) between two date in the same row, then
B) find the max duration (in days)
Here is my take on this problem:
D2 = C2-B2
select D2 and fill down
F1=MAX(D)
to perform the conditional formatting (to highlight the max duration) select column D, then set up conditional formatting as shown in the 1st image
