  • There is no table  in database system BW_POS

    hi gurus,
    i am trying to access tables from SQL Server using DB connect.i have created one source system using SAP library help.
    when right click source system and selected
    'select Database tables' i am getting the following error.
    <b>"There is no table in database system BW_POS"</b>
    BW_POS is my source system name.
    help needed urgently.
    thanx in advance..

    hi guys,
    thanx for your advices,
    while creating the source system i have followed that note <b>512739</b> and i checked that the all the tables and fields are in UPPER case.even the roles and authorizations are given for create VIEW and selct the DB tables.when i check the same DBuser with the client and executed the SQLquery(in SQL Query Analyzer) i am getting the records in that.
    hi dinesh,
    i have checked the source system also it is saying that source system OK.
    <b>the problem is not solved.</b>
    is there any way of checking the source system using any tables or to check any table entries..
    help is appreciated and advance thanx.

  • DB Connect Error - There is no table in database system

    I am trying to get DB Connect to work in our BI 7.0 system.  I believe I have the DB Connect source system setup correctly.  In BI, I execute the following steps:
    1. Right-click on the DB Source system and select Additional Functions > Select Database Tables (3.x)
    2. Enter my DB Source System
    3. Check Select Tables and Select Views
    4. I get the message 'There is no table in database system'.
    Can some please make some suggestions on what I have done wrong?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Ron

    Whatever the Database user name you define in SAP the views/tables in the DB system should have the same owner.
    Ex: If connection between BW and DB is defiend under user SAP1 then the owner of the database should also be SAP1.

  • Moving data from one table to another table in a diferent Database..

    I need to move the data of one table from one database to another table in a different database, is there a way to do this. Do I need the systemn password? or the password of the schema that own the table is enough? the tables are name different, same columns but different name. I know I can do it via sqlldr(creating a file...then runing the ctl file..etc), but I am wonder if it is a different way of doing it?
    Thank you

    Your question is more suitable for the Database-General forum @ General Database Discussions
    (You'll find more DBA's over there, although some of them take a glance over here as well every now and then ;) )
    Do not forget to mention the versions of both databases...

  • On the input :   error message if there is no such id in the database to edit?  and out put comments messed up the whole

    The first page (CoGetEditForm.cfm lets you input the co id
    then it get to the next page for you to edit (CoEditForm.cfm). then
    it lets take action and UPDATEs (CoEditAction.cfm) finally, it goes
    to the colist.cfm to query results and outputs it to html format.
    <td>#comm#</td>
    Question is that:
    1. where and what do I do to have an error message if there
    is no such id in the database to edit?
    2. the out put comments messed up the whole query results
    when I added it to the html out put results. What can I do to clean
    this up and where do I put the code?

    After your SQL SELECT on CO_EditForm.cfm, you need a
    <CFIF> that checks to see if any records were retrieved. See

    Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career. To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
    Go to tahiti.oracle.com.
    Drill down to your product and version.
    <b><i><u>BOOKMARK THIS LOCATION</u></i></b>
    Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab you will find the complete documentation library.
    Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
    Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of information is available there.
    Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
    Do the same with the Utilities manual.
    You don't have to read the above in depth. They are <b><i><u>reference</b></i></u> manuals. Just get familiar with <b><i><u>what</b></i></u> is there to <b><i><u>be</b></i></u> referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
    Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
    - Take a look in your alert log. One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them in the Reference Manual.
    - Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
    - When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again.

  • How add new table in derby  travel database

    sir i use Sun Java Studio Creator with derby
    sir i want create new table in derby travel database but when i right click
    on table not that disable and not give and table create button
    please give me idea how i add new table in derby travel database
    thank's aamir

    Within JDeveloper the generation of entities (Persistent POJOs) from tables will overwrite exiting classes. If you have additional tables you wish to map without losing existing work you will need to create the new classes and map them manually. If you are using the native TopLink mappings there is auto-map support on individual descriptors in the structure pane to automate much of this. If you are using JPA mappings it is a bit more manual at present but the tooling is ntended to give you feedback on problems as you construct and configure your mappings.

  • How to create a form from a table available from a database link?

    Hi,
    I have a table accessible via a database link.
    It is working perfectly, but I cannot create a from using the wizzard.
    It says: "Primary Key must be specified."
    But there is a primary key in the source database!
    Best regards,
    Sebastien (Geneva)

    a little more about dblink:
    i have a view in the dblink
    when i execute
    insert into ias_time_of_acc(ias29, end_acc_period, start_acc_period, acc_last_date_id, comp_date_id, active)
    values(:p4110_ias29, to_date(:p4110_end_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY'),
    to_date(:p4110_start_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY'),:p4110_last_date, :p4110_comp_date,'N');
    i've got this err:
    ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column ORA-02063: preceding line from OFSA_OWNER@OFSA_TO_ORCL
    and when i execute
    a:= to_date(:p4110_start_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY') ;
    b:= :p4110_last_date;
    c:= :p4110_comp_date;
    d:= :p4110_ias29;
    insert into ias_time_of_acc(ias29, start_acc_period, end_acc_period, acc_last_date_id, comp_date_id, active )
    values(d, a,to_date(:p4110_end_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY'),
    b, c,'N' );
    everything is working properly
    so problem is in the lenght of insert statment i think.

  • Track of table changes in a database

    how to keep track of table changes in a database.
    Some records have been deleleted, is there away of seeing that change.

    basically, if you havn't already set up a mechanism to track these sorts of changes, they are already lost.
    there are a number of things you can do. one method that we use is a trigger on the table to insert a record into an audit table for every row that gets changed or deleted.
    oracle has some other built in auditing tools that I'm not familiar with though.

  • Creating Custom Tables in the Portal Database

    Is there a way to create custom tables in the portal database in EP6?
    Thanks,
    Melissa

    Thanks for responding, Nick.
    We want to be able to display informational messages on the logon page before the user logs in.  Currently we make changes to several ASP files in EP5 to display the messages.  We want to be able to give privileged users the ability to enter the message, enter start/end date, etc.  We want to do this in EP6 as well.

  • Skip table during automatic standby database

    We would like to skip a table from being replicated into a standby database.
    We do the following on the standby database
    startup nomount;
    alter database mount standby database;
    recover automatic standby database;
    and cancel the process.
    and then bring the standby database up to date at night for example.
    And during the day we would like to use it as a report database, to see if that is possible.
    To be able to do that, we do this:
    alter database open read only;
    But the problem is, there is one reporting table that we do not like to replicate.
    We want to create a database link in the standby (report) database, that links to the table in the live database.
    Because we need that data from the live database to be update to date in that table.
    That table does not contain data that needs to be stored, so it is no problem if it does not end up in the standby report database.
    Problem is that we cannot get Oracle to skip to replicate this REPORTPARAM table.
    We tried this
    execute dbms_logstdby.skip(stmt => 'SCHEMA_DDL',
    schema_name => 'ABSSOLUTE',
    object_name => 'REPORTPARAM',
    use_like => FALSE);
    exectue dbms_logstdby.skip(stmt => 'DML',
    schema_name => 'ABSSOLUTE',
    object_name => 'REPORTPARAM',
    use_like => FALSE);
    And when we check SELECT * FROM DBA_LOGSTDBY_SKIP
    we see the values in there.
    But still this table is being replicated.
    How can we stop Oracle from doing that?
    ( And can when we stopped Oracle from doing that, create a database link with alias to the same table in the live database,
    that will be the next step. )

    This is the output from select * from dba_logstdby_skip

  • Hw to find the tables in the Portal Database

    Hello,
    I'm new to this Portals. I would like to know where the database tables stored in Portal Database. We are using the Oracle as the database. Can you please tell me where can I view the database tables.
    thnx in advance
    cheers
    murali

    Hi Murali,
    they are stored in a database which has the same name as your instance, for example J2E. KMC tables (most of them - if not all - starting with "KMC_") are stored within the same database as the portal tables are (this wasn't the case for EP5 and EP6 SP2 on 6.20).
    Anyhow, you shouldn't touch or trying to access these tables directly. Two reasons for this: (a) there are APIs for (almost) everything which can be accessed from the DB tables, even if sometimes not documented. Anyhow, the DB schema isn't documented, too, so you should choose the "upper layer"; (b) the DB schema is subject to change without notice (and this is also done regulary); whereas the released (=documented) APIs are stable and the non-released are at least quite stable, too.
    Hope it helps
    Detlev

  • Is it necessary to update scope_info and scope_config when adding columns to a table in a provisioned database?

    I followed the example provided in
    https://jtabadero.wordpress.com/2011/04/13/modifying-sync-framework-scope-definition-part-3-workarounds-addingremoving-columns/ to add columns to a table in a provisioned database.  The sample code replaces the stored procedures triggered when the
    table is updated with new stored procedures which include the additional columns
    However, the sample does not update scope_config. When I am finished, the new columns do not appear in the scope config.  Looking at the SQL code it is immediately obvious why.  Here is an excerpt from the beginning of the query

    In an already provisioned database, the scope_info and scope_config tables already exist.  Hence the portions of the script to create the scope_info and scope_config tables are skipped.  I tried modifying the query to drop these tables.  When
    I do so, ne tables are created but they only define the modified table.
    Is it necessary to update scope_info and scope_config?  Are there are side effects (such as deprovisioning) if I drop and then recreate these tables? Can I just update the existing scope_config, replacing the portion of the XML which defines the table
    being modified? Do I have to make changes in scope_info?
    Thanks

    I followed the example provided in
    https://jtabadero.wordpress.com/2011/04/13/modifying-sync-framework-scope-definition-part-3-workarounds-addingremoving-columns/ to add columns to a table in a provisioned database.  The sample code replaces the stored procedures triggered when the
    table is updated with new stored procedures which include the additional columns
    However, the sample does not update scope_config. When I am finished, the new columns do not appear in the scope config.  Looking at the SQL code it is immediately obvious why.  Here is an excerpt from the beginning of the query
    DROP PROCEDURE [PATIENT_insertmetadata];
    DROP PROCEDURE [PATIENT_updatemetadata];
    DROP PROCEDURE [PATIENT_deletemetadata];
    -- BEGIN Enable Snapshot Isolation on Database 'PatScan' if needed
    IF EXISTS (SELECT NAME FROM sys.databases where NAME = N'PatScan' AND [snapshot_isolation_state] = 0)
    BEGIN
     ALTER DATABASE [PatScan] SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON
    END
    GO
    -- END Enable Snapshot Isolation on Database 'PatScan' if needed
    -- BEGIN Create Scope Info Table named [scope_info]
    IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT t.name FROM sys.tables t JOIN sys.schemas s ON s.schema_id = t.schema_id WHERE t.name = N'scope_info' AND s.name = N'dbo')
    BEGIN
     CREATE TABLE [scope_info] ([scope_local_id] int IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [scope_id] uniqueidentifier DEFAULT NEWID() NOT NULL, [sync_scope_name] nvarchar(100) NOT NULL, [scope_sync_knowledge] varbinary(max) NULL, [scope_tombstone_cleanup_knowledge] varbinary(max)

     ALTER TABLE [scope_info] ADD CONSTRAINT [PK_scope_info] PRIMARY KEY ([sync_scope_name])
    END
    GO
    -- END Create Scope Info Table named [scope_info]
    -- BEGIN Create Scope Config Table named [scope_config]
    IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT t.name FROM sys.tables t JOIN sys.schemas s ON s.schema_id = t.schema_id WHERE t.name = N'scope_config' AND s.name = N'dbo')

     CREATE TABLE [scope_config] ([config_id] uniqueidentifier NOT NULL, [config_data] xml NOT NULL, [scope_status] char NULL)
     ALTER TABLE [scope_config] ADD CONSTRAINT [PK_scope_config] PRIMARY KEY ([config_id])

  • How does one update Std Table EDIPHONE(there is no Table Maintainance)?

    How does one update Std Table EDIPHONE(there is no Table Maintainance)?
    Regards,
    Shashank.

    You should not update the standard database table directly.
    through the partner profile tcode: WE20 you can update the table EDIPHONE.
    u can choose required partner profile in the WE20, select the tab 'Telephony', and update the data, the table EDIPHONE will get updated.
    if you want to maintain this edi phone data for a particular message type/s then select inbound/output parameters and double clikc on it, go to last tab in teh screen 'Telephony',  and updated the required data.
