There is Windows 8.1 enough to develop Windows Phone Application ?

<p>Hello,</p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;">I want to buy a Windows 8.1 (NOT PRO) license for home use (for my own, not for a company). After that, I will get the Visual Studio Express
for Windows.&nbsp; <a href="http://http://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-express-vs.aspx">visual studio</a><br /></p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;"><a
href="http://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-express-vs.aspx"><br /></a></p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;">What I want to do in fact is to develop windows
mobile application, for Windows Phone 8.1.</p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;">If I read from site above, it says that for the Windows Phone Emulator I have to have Windows 8.1 (x64) Professional
edition. Otherwise, I have to use a device to deploy or to test Windows Phone apps.</p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;">For me is the best, because I already have a smartphone Windows Phone 8.1 (Nokia
Lumia 630).</p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;">So, my question is : can I buy Windows 8.1
(NOT PRO) and still have the possibility to develop windows mobile application for Windows Phone 8.1, using my phone as testing and deploying device (again, I don’t need an emulator). With Windows 8.1 (NOT PRO) system operation installed on my PC, will I have
all the functionality of windows mobile developing, EXCEPT the emulator ?</p><p></p><p>Thx</p><br />

Hello Ion Vlad,
You can find the system requirements for windows phone development at
[1].
According to this link, development for Windows Phone 8.1 requires a computer with one of the following operating systems,
-Windows 8.1 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64)
-Windows 8 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64)
-Windows 7 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) - requires Internet Explorer 10 or higher
If you need the windows phone emulator, then you will need windows 8 64-bit pro or higher. You can find the system requirements for windows phone emulator at

  • Inquire about the best laptop specifications for Developing Windows Apps and 3D modelling Animation using "Kinect for Windows v2"?

I need some help in choosing laptop that is most compatible with "Kinect for Windows v2"; in order to develop Windows Apps, and 3D modelling Animation and Character Design. Which is better (Specifications):
    HP Pavilion Notebook PC 15-p150ne
    AMD A10-5745M +
    AMD Radeon R7 M260 (2 GB DDR3L dedicated) +
    4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, OR
    HP Pavilion Notebook PC 15-p034ne
    Intel Core i5-4210U + NVIDIA GeForce 840M (2 GB DDR3 dedicated) + 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L

The second system with the Intel chipset will more than likely have the Intel USB3 chipset required for Kinect. As for GPU they are similar, but the i5 with DDR3 1600MHZ ram is a better option. Keep in mind, if you are doing anything in-depth for
3D, a laptop isn't the best options, but if you have to go mobile then you have to decide what is best for your requirements.

  • Is there any plan to have Maintenance Wizard on Windows platform?

I am planning to upgrade our 9i/11.5.10.2 to 11g/R12 on Win2000. The client doesn't have UNIX/Linux in the shop. It seems we can't use Maintenance Wizard for the upgrade. Is there any plan to have Maintenance Wizard on Windows platform?
    Thanks,
    Jenny

    Jenny,
We have considered this many times over the lifetime of the MW, but it seems the demand is never great enough. We hear from about 2-3 customers a year who would like to see this feature. It came back very low in the "desirability" ratings from our MW survey last year.
So I'm sorry to say that there is no plan to make MW installable on a Windows box at this time.
(It can be used for customers with Apps nodes on windows, but with the caveat that you lose automatic execution... See the FAQ, note 405263.1, for more details.)

  • Is there any known problem using Oracle SQL Developer 3.0.04 with Java 1.7?

I'm new to Oracle. I have installed Oracle SQL Developer 3.0.04 and Java 1.7. When I run Oracle SQL Developer, I will get the window Running this product is supported with minimum Java version of 1.6.0_04 and a maximum version less than 1.7. This product will not be supported....
Is there any known problem using Oracle SQL Developer 3.0.04 with Java 1.7?
I have already downloaded Java 1.6 but don't know whether I need to uninstall Java 1.7 first. If don't need to uninstall Java 1.7, how can I set Oracle SQL Developer to run with Java 1.6?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
One prior post discussing the use of Java 7 is:
SQL Developer 3.0  and Java SE 7?
There is no need to uninstall any Java version (except if you have disk space constraints) and no problem switching between Java versions. This may be controlled in the sqldeveloper.conf file in your ...\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin directory via the SetJavaHome line. For example:
    #SetJavaHome ../../jdk
    SetJavaHome C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.6.0_26
    #SetJavaHome C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.7.0Regards,

  • Would *.vi files run on a Windows platform if they were developed on a Unix platform?

I have been working on a Linux machine with Labview 6.1, and would like to know if the *.vi files would run on a Windows platform running Labview.

Absolutely. I don't recall that there are any Platform dependent calls in LabVIEW for Linux. Give it a shot, and please post here if you have any problems.
Congratulations for choosing Linux, and LabVIEW for Linux.
I have always been a proponent of platform independent programming, and of Linux/Unix (okay, ANYTHING but Windows...evil, pure evil...). If you develop in Linux, and run in Windows, you are in fact developing a platform independent program (at least, if there are NO platform dependent calls in your program...)
Good luck, and keep us posted.

  • SQL Developer: Windows 7 64-bits double numerical entries

I am using sql developer windows 7 64-bits version 64-3.2.20.09.87-no-jre.
I am entering data directly on tables.
Sometimes when I use numeric pad to enter numbers, double entries appears on the first digit.
    For example: entering 1234
it appears 11234 - with first numeric entry appearing twice.
This also happens with the past versions, different notebook brands.
How do I solve this problem?

    Hi can anyone advise
    The Problem
We are currently using Oracle SQL Developer 1.2.1.3213 to administer to the oracle database, unfortunately, this version does not play well with a 64 bit environ. The current airbus standard for Oracle SQL Developer which is happy with Windows 7 64 bit is version 3.1.07, again unfortunately, this version does not support versions of the Oracle database less than I think it is 8. Budget precludes the option of upgrading to a newer version of dbase.
    The Question
Is there a version of Oracle SQL Developer that will meet our needs for windows 7 while remaining on the same version of the oracle database, or are there other competing products that you could recommend that will fit the bill. The product will require a GUI I don’t want to go back to entering SQL at the command line.
    regards
Kevin" this version does not support versions of the Oracle database less than I think it is 8."
What do you mean by this statement?
SQL Developer is just a client. Clients do NOT have to be exactly version matched to a database. I am running SQLDeveloper 3.2 on a Win 7 Pro 64-bit desktop and my databases are a mix of 10.2.0.4 and 11.2

  • Is there any separate api to access emails in windows mobiles

is there any separate api to access emails in windows mobiles

Of course there is an API to repository objects, and the SUN/iPlanet people are using it. Also in past times Forte-partners have used it. You can see the classes when you set certain cfg. flags. The problem is, there is no documentation about that API provided by SUN. If you find an expert within the community (who is not bound by a non disclosure ), it will be rather easy to set up C++ wrappers to integrate with an external (non TOOL) application.
We feel a need for documented access to the repository objects as well, as that would make several tasks of development automatization and integration with other development tools (Forte for JAVA e.g.) more straight forward.

  • Sql developer + windows authentication

    Hi,
Is it possible to use windows authentication to connect to windows databases when using sql developer? From what I have seen, it seems that it is not straight forward.
Is ther any kind of work around?
Thanks in advance for any help
    Seastian

It is, but it it's complicated - at least from what I have experienced.
First you need the jtds-1.2.1.jar on your machine (a tutorial here..http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/viewlets.html) - it doesn't mention that you need to unzip the file (from sourceforge.et) and add the SSO directory to your windows PATH variable.
It gets complicated depending on the Win Server (e.g. clustered)
On the Hostname I had to add this "ip adress":1433;instance=CVDEV instead of just the server's ip\CVDEV as you would do in a win connection
And you get disappointed, from what I found out, you need a connection for each of the databases there (e.g. master, temp, etc) it doesn't show all the databases on the server under the same connection

  • Developing Windows Embedded Compact Application (installation issues)

I want to develop an application for a device running Windows Embedded Compact 7
I have downloaded the Application Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 2013 (VSEmbedded_AppBuilder.exe) from here and installed it on my machine
I am following the instructions from
this page which says that there should be a "Windows Embedded Compact" node within the New Project dialog box. There isn't
Additionally, if I launch VSEmbedded_AppBuilder.exe I get a window that only gives you the option to Repair or Uninstall and displays no information other information other than the fact that it is the Application Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 2013
that you are trying to run
I have tried repairing and uninstalling and it doesn't help. I have also tried restarting my pc between installing and opening visual studio. Doesn't help either
    What am I missing here?
I'm running Visual Studio 2012 Professional on a Windows 7 machine. All I want to do is build an application for my Windows Embedded Compact 7 device
    Thanks

You say that your device is running Compact 7
You downloaded a Visual Studio plug in for Compact 2013
You provided links to Compact 2013 documentation and tools
Since your device is running Compact 7, it would make sense to target your app to run on Compact 7 - if you target Compact 2013, your app
    will not run.
You will need to install Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 - which one depends on what you plan to do.

  • Is there a reference document(example, code) for developing usb mini port driver?

    Hi:
I studied Bus\USB document of WDK. This document forces on developing USB device driver.
And there are some IOCTL Interfaces of usb bus driver exposed to usb device, like IOCTL_INTERNAL_USB_SUBMIT_URB.
But those IOCTL Interfaces seem to belong to USB hub driver(usbhub.sys).
My job is to developing a usb mini port driver, like usbehci.sys. That can work with usbport.sys.
So I should know the communication interfaces(IOCTL...etc) between them and implement these interfaces.
Is there a reference document(example, code) for developing usb mini port driver ?

No there is no reference documents for this, Microsoft stated from the beginning that they own that layer.  You really don't want to go there.

  • Windows simulation fast enough on mbp?

    hello,
    i use an old g4 pb, and a windows-laptop.
now i want to get one laptop - running both: mainly mac, sometimes vista.
is the windows (bootcamp, Parallels) with f.e. adobe cs2 fast enough for working? or is it too slow?
i know, this is a difficult question, depends on the subjective feeling of each user. but i like to hear some feedback of users, that usw windows, too, on a mbp.
    thanks
    claus
    <edited by host>

with bootcamp the mbp would run at the same speed as any comparable intel system
with vmware fusion i find the mbp booots windows 2000 faster than a dell booots windows xp, but i rarely need windows so haven't used it much beyond installing office and testing it worked ok, certainly didn't find any issues with speed
running linux under vmware fusion for a cisco network and video management application, there's absolutely no problems with performance even when the mbp is also streaming video under osx and running other apps, i tried running windows at the same time and it was still fine
the only thing i do that maxes out the mbp is encoding video in premiere pro (cs3 under osx) the fans run non-stop and it gets pretty warm

  • Is there any way how i can download and run Window based games, with out installing Windows-thus Bootcamp? and if so, is it free?

is there any way how i can download and run Window based games, with out installing Windows-thus Bootcamp? and if so, is it free?

No, you must install Windows to run Windows software. You do not need to use Boot Camp (yes, it's free because it comes with OS X.)
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

    iTunes COM for Windows SDK
You'll need this if you want create or modify any scripts for iTunes for Windows. You need a free membership to Apple Developer Connections in order to get access to the file. Once you have your membership, log in and go to Downloads -> Developer Tools. The entry for iTunes COM for Windows SDK will be about 1/2 way down the page.
