Threads, please help!

Hello all,
Overview: I need to use threads in order to send http requests to various servers at the same time. At the moment it is nine different servers.
My code is as follows...
in my main class i have a for loop which iterates through a string array of urls.
in the for loop it has this statement...
URL root = new URL(updateArray[z][1]);
new ret(root).start();ret is a class that extends thread and attempts to retrieve binary files and save them to the same directory. packet capture shows that these connections are being made but the code is using 99% of cpu and doesn't seem to exit. the connections seem to die after about 2 minutes also.
so...
1. is it foolish to have 9 threads running at the same time making network connections?
2. is it foolish to try and make java save 9 different files into the same directory?
would the program hanging be because of blocking IO?

Change of Business Area to Cost Center (my first thread , please help)

Hi Everybody i'm Charmaine Leena Martin freshly certified FICO consultant , this is my first thread i'm posting, please help me with the same.
A wrong business area has been assigned to a cost center and postings have taken place in the same.
while using t-code KS02: change cost center , for rectifying the business area , i get the following error:
"Field change business area is not possible (transaction data exists)"
so i've created a new cost center and assigned it the right business
and using t-code kb61 : i have posted the documents to the new cost center
at that time system generates a co-document automatically:
But the accounting document of which transfer postings have taken place still shows old business area and cost center
Please let me know why is it so ,
and what has to be done with the CO document that gets posted automatically
and is there any other way out of changing the business area without creation of new cost center

Another DV audio sync thread - PLEASE HELP!!!

I've been using APP v2 for a number of years now and have never had this problem. I'm capturing footage from mini DV using a panasonic camcorder and today my audio is slowly drifting out of sync over my 1 hour tape. AHHHHHHHHHH!
I tried recapturing using the Canon XL1 it was shot on and same thing.
What is causing this, and why out of the blue did it start? In 3 years I've never had this happen and haven't changed computers, cameras, cables, anything?!
Please help. I'm going crazy

Actually, for Premiere Pro CS2 this is not uncommon. The Canon XL1 and GL1 cameras in particular had this problem. If you check the properties of the captured clip, you'll see that the clip frame rate is being reported as 29.96 FPS instead of the correct 29.97 FPS. Theis means the audio will get progressively out of sync with the video. It becomes really noticable after about 11 minutes. The problem is related to a non-standard audio sample rate created by the camera. Instead of being 48000 Hz, it is actually 48048Hz. This was a known problem with some older Canon cameras. Your best solution is to upgrade to CS4. Adobe corrects for this problem by creating conformed audio files. This essentially resamples the audio at the correct 48000Hz and eliminates the problem. If you search the Adobe knowledge base for "29.96" you should find a tech doc on this.
...Or, you could just buy a new camera.

okay, been having trouble with this one and installing/uninstalling oracle software a little too much. I want to make sure I am 100% clear what to do before I continue. Tell me if I have this right:
My situation: I want to serve my fmx files down to java clients from a windows 2003 server platform. I developed the forms 10.2.0.2 in a XP OS and remotely connected to a DB.
I am going to...
1. install oracle AS reports and forms standalone 10.2.0.2
2. install oracle DB standard/enterprise edition 10.2.0.1
3. setup hostname and tns listener with my DB
4. edit the index html file in the oracle web server directory, so that web page calls up the fmx file for java client to interact with
...like this? And for step 4, where in the oracle directory do I configure (or add) the html file? also, how do you configure the file? treat it like a java app like: <app>"whatever.fmx"</app> or something?

u can put redirects in your httpd.conf:
Redirect /app1 http://<your_as>/forms/frmservlet?config=<your_config1>&form=<your_form1>
Redirect /app2 http://<your_as>/froms/frmservlet?config=<your_config2>&form=<your_form2>
and so on...
then u can call it like this
http://<your_as>/app1
and u get redirected to your first application.
I am not sure if u can redirect index (so u have only to call http://<your_as>), but u can try it ;-)

If you convert them using quicktime you need to have pro for it to give sound.Prehaps a few more detawils about you're system set-up might give more clues to the problem.

That one's from a book. I used that code to start with my applet. Mine calls different merthod from the switch cases. Say I have:

Exception in thread "main" - error: Please help

I installed the Java 1.4.0 beta on my machine. I configured the JRE and the javac and java commands are responding well. Now I have written very simple classes which are compiling without errors. But now, if I use the java command to run the classes, I am getting the following message:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassFoundError: ForTick/class ;
where ForTick is the name of my class for example. Where am I going wrong? Also, where do I find documentation for error messages like this - I have toured almost the whole java website and even the documentation that I downloaded -but I couldn't find it.
Please help me coz I am just stuck.

Threading issue (please help)

In my code in response to an event, I send off a message to the server and wait for the appropriate response. For some reason, my listening thread stops until the my waiting function has timed out, no matter how long I wait. I'll get all server messages the second the thread finishes. I am letting the "wait" thread sleep, so why am I getting the deadlock? Please help

When the XML object is created, the trigger is set to true, but this doesn't ever happen because I don't receive the messages while waiting. The thread that's sitting there ONLY checking for messages will totally stop until my waitForIQ has timed out, then it'll process all the messages I've received.
For whatever reason, my listening thread's waiting on my waitForIQ thread to timeout and my waitForIQ threads waiting on a message that the listening thread SHOULD receive. So, they're going into temporary deadlock until the waitForIQ thread times out.

When I try to install the 'GOOD for enterprise" app, I am getting error 0x100001 during retireve settings step. I followed the step of reloading the OS to fix this as suggested in another thread but even after that I have the same problem. Please help.

There may be other methods, but below is how I change my email photo.
Here is how to change your Mac Mail email photo in Mountain Lion:
Open the App called "Contacts". Type your name in the search field. Your contact info and photo should appear. Click on your photo. You now have some photo options. I use the "Recents" tab, and simply drag photo files from Finder into that window in Contacts. Drag and drop.
If you have trouble finding yourself in "Contacts" you can also get there by doing this:
Open one of your sent messages. Double click your photo in that message. This opens another window with your photo in it. Double-click that photo. This should open your contact information in the Contacts App.

Lock-Ups and Freezes PLEASE HELP

Hello everyone..
I come here to see if anyone can help me... Ive done it all and nothing is working.
I just recently started having problems with my computer, im not sure why this happend but ill try to explain everything as best as I can.
The problem started a few days ago while I was playing SWG's. I was playing and all of a sudden my machine froze, the screen locked-up and then after about 2 min the entire system restarted. I then logged back into my windows and after a while a system froze and restarted yet again. I though it was a SWGs issue but then the computer would freeze while browsing the net and doing other tasks.
I have formated my machine, re-installed my drivers, and re-installed the hardward. Nothing has worked.
My computer specs are

If what you are saying, and I am reading correctly:
The machine and game was working just peachy and all of a sudden the problem manifested itself?
Did you do ANYTHING to change your system prior to this happening to possibly have an effect?
the fast that you said you have re-loaded the OS and removed and re-installed the hardware with the same result tells me that there may be some sort of hardware failure and this could get difficult to troubleshoot.
First things first, try a memory testing software like memtest86 to see if you get any errors.

One reason that I sometimes get 'NoSuchMethodError' is when I make a change to a
java class that is imported into another java class. When I go to run the
importing class, it will throw a 'NoSuchMethodError' on any methods that I've
changed in the imported class. The solution is to recompile the importing class
with the changed classes in the classpath.
