Throws WebDynpro Exception in adobe form

Hello Experts
I am new to adobe form i created an adobe form when i run it as webdynpro application it gives run time error.
Error when processing your request
What has happened?
The URL http://******************/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zadobe/ was not
called due to an error.
what to do next ?. I have no idea. Please help.

Do you want to perform these actions when online (within the webdynpro context on the browser) or offline (the pdf saved locally without access to the webdynpro context)
1. If only used in the online scenario
As you correctly noted, there are only two actions in the form. However these actions can be triggered by script inside the form. Before triggering the script set some runtime flag value on the webdynpro context (through a hidden pdf field) to understand which action is being performed. Then in the java code perform the appropriate action and set the resulting data into the webdynpro context and the form screen will be refreshed with the new data.
2. If used in the offline scenario
Fetch all the data you would need beforehand and store it in hidden fields. Then based on user interaction, choose the appropriate value from the hidden fields and display using script.

ADS Error while calling WebDynpro Abap with Adobe Form

Hi Experts,
I have created an Adobe Form and its interface in Transaction SFP. In a WebDynpro Abap Component I created an UI-element "Interactive Form" with the context of my form. So the WebDynpro Context was created automatically. Then I tried to call the WebDynpro Application in the Internet Explorer but got the error message:
german(original):
WebDynpro Exception: Der Aufruf des ADS schlug fehl. Informationen zur Ursache finden Sie im error.pdf auf dem Applikationsserver.
english:
WebDynpro Exception: The call of ADS failed. You find information in error.pdf on Application server.
How can I call error.pdf and what can that be? One WebDynpro Component with the form runs without any problems, the other one doesn't do this. I have no idea if it is a problem with context or server or something else.

You was right to some extent...We have started the ADS Web service.
Now, We have a different error mentioned below,
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

This might be a generic question :
I am modifying PCRs (MSS 1.0,EP 7,ECC 6.0) and now I have come to a point where I need to decide if I have to use Webdynpro JAVA or Webdynpro ABAP for modifying Adobe interactive forms which come with MSS 1.0 out of the box from SAP.
What does SAP suggest??

Thanx for your suggestion but let me just detail what Iam looking for;
I will have to develop a custom PCR for Hire/Rehire (no workflow -- weird right),
now if I develop Adobe forms for this, my question is how am I going to bind these forms to the scenario (QISRSCENARIO).
Whatever is entered in this form is not going through workflow but is going to be directly updated in the database when the manager says SUBMIT.
Usually the HR developer goes to the scenario and selects input by Adobe form and clicks generate, but now if I develop the form using Webdynpro JAVA how am I going to integrate the generated form to that particular scenario.
Sorry if Iam not clear enough, but I really need help in this regard.

Webdynpro for ABAP - Adobe form ISR based

We are building a custom HR application to automate various HR processes
like New Hire, Termination, etc.. Due to certain internal issues we are
unable to use the standard business package for MSS (and hence PCR screens
with adobe forms). We have to create custom webdynpro abap screens for the
whole application. Now i would like to check if there is a possibility to
use the ISR framework with a custom webdynpro abap application.
I checked the transaction QISRSCENARIO but i could not find any option for
webydnpro abap in "Entry type for Web".
Have anyone of you tried such a scenario earlier with ISR's? Is there any other way
that we can use webdynpro ABAP applications with ISRs? Or do we have any
work around for this.

I am able to see if it is not interactive.
Displaytype is native only.
Let me explain you the issue in detail:
Currently Client is calling ZFORM thro Java. They have some issues with JAVA so they want to use Webdynpro to call that ZFORM and the form is ABAP Dic based.
For Templete source I gave ZFORM name, and it automatically created a 'NODE' wrt the context in the ZFORM.
Now I have to pass data from difft node attributes to that 'NODE'.

Trigger workflow from ABAP webdynpro (having an adobe form)

Hello All,
I have developed an Webdynpro (for ABAP) component that has an Adobe Form integrated within it. Now I have been given a requirment that the form (once filled out on the portal) needs to be routed to 2-3 persons for approval and then submitted (or processed in SAP). The approving personnel will look at their UWL on the portal and approve/dissapprove.
I do not have much hands on experience on such a Workflow scenario as above. I have already completed the adobe form part and the webdynpro section.
I will really appreciate it if anyone can advise as to how I need to proceed here.

Hi Liz,
You can use the FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW. In webdynpro you have the button like "Submit" right? All the process has done, the user can click the submit button to get the approval. Under the button you can call this FM.
Create one workflow based on your scenario, and pass the workflow number to this FM. So once the submit button is clicked then in back end workflow will getting triggered.

Passing value from Webdynpro ABAP to Adobe form..

Hi experts,
In first view of web dynpro, im getting employee id as input and after clicking the create new button, an adobe form is called
to create the employee details ( in form i used the submit button and i stored the details ). so, in tat form i used the employee id as read only mode and it has to display the value which i given as input. But in tat form im not getting the value from web dynpro..
can anyone plz help me out for this..

Hi,
Try to set your values in Method->"wddomodify" of the View in which Adobe Form is present. If you want to pass values from one view to another then check this link [Passing Local Parameters between views in an ABAP Web Dynpro Application|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/stage/PassingLocalParametersbetweenviewsinanABAPWebDynproApplication] or use Context declared in Component Controller.

Input via ABAP Webdynpro - Display data Adobe form

My requirement is I will pass input via ABAP webdynrpo selection screen and I want to get output in ADOBE FORM.Do we have any blogs or tutorials ? BTW this will not be interactive form right?

Hi Vara,
Do follow these steps:
1) Goto SE80 and create a WDC.
2) Create a main view, and in the view go to context, and create a node and an attribute in it to fill the values from WDA.
3) Goto layout of the View, and create an inputfield UI element, and bind the attribute created in the context.
4) Now create an Interactive form UI element and give some name in the Template source of that UI element.
5) On press of enter, it asks you to create a new SFP, and say yes for that. Also choose context as the data source during that process.
6) Now SFP tcode is opened for you to design the layout.
7) Similarly desing the layout and bind the copied node from webdypro component.
8) Save and activate the form.
9) Save and activate the WDC.
10) Create an application and test it.
This completes the scenario mentiond by you..

XML EXCEPTION in adobe form

hi all,
We've met a XML exception like this:
we input a no and raise a RFC and get the data and fill in the form. that is ok.
And when I trigger the submit button, an excepiton is shown:
"org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Content is not allowed in prolog. "
I think it is a XML exception..But I don't know how to fix it.
Can anyone tells me how to do now?

can you please explain your scenario? Do you have a offline form which do you extract the XML data from? Or is that a XML file for/ from WD form? Please provide more details about when the exception occurs.

Save and Cancel Functionality in WebDynpro application with Adobe Forms

Hi,
I want to create an application with Adobe Interactive forms. This application will have 3 buttons: Save As Draft, Submit and Cancel.
This application also involves Workflow.
On Save As Draft, the form will be saved for later viewing. How can I achieve this functionality? Does UWL support Save As Draft feature.
On Submit, workflow is triggered and form is routed for approval.
On Cancel, the form is deleted from the system and cannot be retrieved. How can I get this functionality?
Issue: How to achieve Save As Draft and Cancel functionality?

First, have you set a breakpoint in this code and made sure that you are getting data into lt_image_bin? That would seem to be the first place to start.
Then the question is how are you trying to pass the image into the Adobe Form? Are you passing an XSTRING context attribute into the form interface? Have you marked that part of the interface as an image? Are you setting the MIME Type parameter of the form interface as well. You really haven't posted any details about what you are doing on the Adobe Form side.

Call standard adobe form from a WD application

Hi All,
I have a requirement of displaying a standard adobe form from a click of a button in a WDA portal,
I am an ECC developer and have no idea of WD. I created a function module which uses submit statement to invoke the driver program and displays the PDF output, but when this function module is invoked from the portal on the click of button it gives and error FP job open error.
I understand that displaying PDF wont work in this way on portal, so can anyone please guide me the correct procedure on how to achieve this.

Making selective fields editable in adobe form [using web dynpro]

I have displayed an adobe form using web dynpro application. But I have to make certain fields (not all fields) on this adobe form editable. I dont want to make this adobe form interactive because I dont have to save any data in database. The data entered in the editable fields will be saved as a pdf.
What I did so far:
1) The fields which I want as editable, I have given there type as "User entered/ optional" & for rest of the fields I have given type as "Read only".
2) In web dynpro, I have enabled the adobe
3) This is not making the fields editable.
4) If I write the following code in my webdynpro method WDDOMODIFYVIEW, then my data coming from adobe is not getting displayed even though the fields get selectively editable.
*data: LR_INTERACTIVE_FORM type ref to CL_WD_INTERACTIVE_FORM,

So I kept this code & I also kept the Interface type "ABAP Dictionary based".
Additionally in Webdynpro, I used adobe form generated FM to get the adobe content & passed it to the "content" parameter of my adobe component in webdynpro.

Calling Interactive Adobe Form from workflow work-item

WE have Interactive Adobe Form developed and now the requirement is to call this form in our workflow as work-item.
When the work-item agent double-click on the work-item he must call the adboe form.

Has anyone been able to successfully implement online Adobe forms in a Guided procedures. If yes, can you share tricks involved..
The objective is to throw open an online Adobe form to the user to fill in.. The Adobe form will have pre-filled data (from previous Actions in the GP) and there will be the Approval process step after the form is filled...

Yes i have generated the form's submit URL... It works fine when the pdf is saved in the users desktop and upon clicking the submit button it kicks of a Process with a Visual Approval callable object..
However my requirement is that the Adobe form be submitted online during GP runtime.. The process is initiated by the User in the portal (not offline) who wants to put in a request. When the user initiates a process an Adobe form is opened to him in which he fills in his request. This request is then forwarded for Approval.. After Approval a digital signature need to be attached to the document and further on it needs to be sent out to other User Groups.. In case the request is rejected then the control goes back to the requestor who can either modify his request and send it again for approval or simply delete the request.. Throughout the whole process Print of the request can be taken at any time. Considering the requirements of Print & Digital signature i think using Adobe would be the way to go.. What do you think about implementing such a requirement in GP with Adobe UIs? Is it the right way of going about it?
