TMG Roll ups

Hi,
I am using TMG2010. A question is regarding Roll up installation. I have installed a Roll up 5 on TMG 2010 SP2 server.
My question is, is it mandatory to install all the Roll ups from (1 to 5) on TMG 2010 SP2 or only Roll up 5 is enough?
Please also suggest me the order of installation of Roll up?
Thanks

Nothing is mandatory when it comes to patching. :)
Seriously, I would strongly recommend that you moved to RU5 if you are on plain SP2 at the moment. You will have a system that is healthier than before and more stable (depending on what features you use, do read the related KB's for each RU).
I would not keep a system running on less than RU5 today and fully patched from Microsoft Update (Windows and other products such as SP's for SQL). Of course excluding the somewhat failed patches in the August batch.

  • GL roll ups for Account Segments

    Hi All,
    How is it to extract the data from tables to show the roll ups of the account segments. We dont have roll up groups for account flexfields defined but have parent /child defined.
    for example: certain accounts fall under this category and certain team/department falls under this business unit.
    Please let me know how we can get that relational data from backend tables.
    Thanks,

  • How to transform tree roll-ups to multidimensional in OFDM

    Hi all,
    I'm now doing an implementation on OFSA whose data structure in OFDM is tree roll-ups. But I need make financial reports using BI Answer and Administration, which requires a multidimentional structure--I mean a factual table and some dimensional table in a relational database, not data warehouse.Can anyone give me a hand? Thanks.

    Try using the transformation engine in the application - this creates a single output table for all trees, ledger and result table/s you choose. OBIEE can then link directly to these objects as is.

  • Automatic BOM price roll-ups

    My question is whether there is a user-friendly way of updating BOM prices in a volatile component environment.  I think the answer is no, and that I will need to create a custom program to do so.  The details...
    We have several customers which manufacture fairly complex products, involving multiple levels of BOMs.  Because of the volatility of component prices, and for tax purposes, FIFO costing is utilized.  Thus, component costs will be changing on a daily basis.  While I understand that the actual postings for a Production Order (PdO) will use the correct costs at the time of issue and FG receipt based on the item's costing method, these companies need to have reasonably accurate rollup costs in order to manage their selling prices.  These rollup prices would be considered "reference" values, and it's understood that actual production costs would vary.
    I've read dozens of posts and viewed an expert session on maintaining rolled BOM costs:
    [https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000185812008E/LOG_CW07_How_to_update.wrf].  If I've properly understood and consolidated the information, maintaining prices must be done manually or with the Update Parent Item Prices Globally function.  Manual updates would be incredibly time consuming, and frankly, unacceptable.  The UPIPG function will yield correct results only if it is performed from the lowest level subassembly BOM's first and finishing with the top-level finished goods.  As far as I know, SBO has no "low-level code" in the item master to indicate the lowest BOM level in which it appears.  Therefore, using the UPIPG function would still be a manual process and there is insufficient information to guide a user through the correct sequence.
    The only solution I can see would involve creating an external program, which could be run periodically (e.g., nightly or on-demand).  The output of this program would be an updated price list for all items, reflecting current costs.  The program would first dynamically create a temporary table containing each item and its low-level code.  Then, it would explode and cost BOMs starting from the lowest level, and progressing up the levels.  Each higher level would use the newly-updated prices for the lower levels.  The only SBO table updated would be the price list.
    I've already scoped and prototyped this program, but wanted to check if there are other alternatives.  Any feedback would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for considering my question, Gordon.
    I pretty much finished the program and initial tests are looking good.  In case you're interested, the following is how I approached the problem.
    The custom program is an external (DI-API) VB.net program, written as a console application (ie, no UI, command-line startup with parameters, can be initiated via Windows Scheduler).  I added a UDF to the PriceList table, and the program updates only those price lists with a value in the UDF.  The UDF value is a comma-separated list of warehouses whose inventory should be used to formulate the "current cost".  For each PriceList, there are two passes.  The first pass processes only BUY items, and computes a "current cost", depending on the cost method and whether costing is global or by warehouse.  For FIFO items, an average FIFO cost is calculated across the designated warehouses.  For Moving Average, a weighted average of the Moving Averages is determined.  For standard cost items, the standard costs are averaged.  The PriceList is updated to reflect this "current cost" (which is only a reference value).  The second pass processes only MAKE items.  Rather than updating a static low-level code each time, I simply flatten each BOM down to it's BUY or non-inventory parts, and use the newly-updated prices for the BUY items.  Each make item's price is updated in the PriceList, if there's been a change.  A bit of recursive programming made the BOM explosion fairly easy.
    The result is one (or more) PriceLists that reflect an averaged cost for non-make items, and essentially a BOM rollup cost using the updated component costs.  We'll be running it nightly, which should provide fairly good reference values.  I'm still hoping that SAP will, at some point, add some kind of automated BOM rollup functionality that responds to changing component costs.

  • Dynamic Calc and Roll ups

    I have 11 members that are used for grouping stock. They are: DEAD_STK_3M, DEAD_STK_6M, NEW_NO_SALES, STK_NEGATIVE, STK_0_1M, STK_1_2M, STK_2_3M, STK_3_4M, STK_4_5M, STK_5_6M, STK_6M_PLUS. I have put a dynamically calculated formula in member "STK_0_1m" to work out where the Closing Stock amount should be placed. The formula works perfectly at Product Level 0 but when you go up it doesnt roll up correctly.Eg. Closing Stock = 6000. Product level 0(Zero):DEAD_STK_3M = 10DEAD_STK_6M = 0NEW_NO_SALES = 500STK_NEGATIVE = 0STK_0_1M = 3000STK_1_2M = 2000STK_2_3M = 90STK_3_4M = 400STK_4_5M = 0STK_5_6M = 0STK_6M_PLUS = 0If I go to level 1 it will put the closing stock under a single member and not roll them up individually.Closing Stock = 6000. Product level 1:DEAD_STK_3M = 0DEAD_STK_6M = 0NEW_NO_SALES = 0STK_NEGATIVE = 0STK_0_1M = 6000STK_1_2M = 0STK_2_3M = 0STK_3_4M = 0STK_4_5M = 0STK_5_6M = 0STK_6M_PLUS = 0I guess this has something to do with calc order but I am not sure where to start. Hope someone can help.Simon

    Added in 2 Pass Calc and still doesnt roll up individually. I have been battling this for ages now. In another member in the same cube all works perfectly and rolls up correctly but I cant see where the difference is. Thanks for the suggestion thoughSimon

  • Authoring Tool - Where are the updated MPs for the Library After Applying Update Roll Ups

    All,
    Fairly recently, I took a client to SCSM 2012 R2 UR3. Today I dropped by to do some work for them on custom MPs, and when I attempted to open them with the SCSM 2012 R2 Authoring tool, I could not, because the 7.5.3079.148 MPs (UR3 version) are not in the
    library. I have searched high and low to locate these MP files to drop them into the library, but I am coming up empty handed. Where are the .MP files? I am aware that we can just directly alter the referenced MP version number in the MP itself, but I want
    to know where do we actually find these correctly versioned files for the authoring tool.
    Thanks,

    Hey Everyone,
    I have heard back a few times from MS, but with nothing substantially helpful other than they created a bug for it. Today they called again and said this is listed with a low priority, because not enough people are complaining about it, which has a several-months
    time frame for resolution. He asked me to submit Connect Feedback and get people to Upvote it and state that they can reproduce the problem. So, I went out there, found one connect request already submitted (By Thomas Bianco above) and attached to the bug,
    and I Upvoted and clicked the Repros link on it. Here is the link below, so please get out there and and Upvote and click the Repros link.

    The requirements are:
    The user must be able to request the extract for one or more calendar months, e.g.
    May 2013
    May 2013 – Sep 2013.
    The file must contain a separate row for each calendar month in the requested range. Each row must contain the statistics computed for that calendar month.
    The file must also include a row of totals.
    The user must be able to request the extract for either AA or BB or Consolidated (both courts’ statistics accumulated).
    Then the part that I am working on is
    For each monitoring phase:
    Phase name (e.g. “Phase One”)
    Avg_time_in_phase_all_particip
    for each phase name,
    Add up days in each “phase name” Monitoring Phase, calculated as:
    If Monitoring Phase.Date Finished is NULL or > month end date,
    (*Month end date* Minus Monitoring Phase.Date Started Plus 1)
    Otherwise (phase is complete)
    (Monitoring Phase.Date Finished Minus Monitoring Phase.Date Started Plus 1.)
    Divide by the numbers of all participants who have engaged in “phase name”.Thanks again for reading and spending time to help,

  • Urgent!!! Roll Ups?

    Hi Gurus,
    I have two question as below..
    1. If the aggregates are active in BI Testing server then how to fill them without activating again.? Or Do I need to transport the
        filled and active aggregates again from BI Dev by doing the same there using a new request.
    2. And  when does the sign of Sigma appears in front of Cube( when aggregates are active only or active and filled)?
    Thanks,
    SDP

    Hi,
    By transports, we can move the structure of aggregates to target system.
    It will not fill the data.. ( Also the data will be different in Dev, Quality etc )
    So you have to do "Activate and Fill" in target system also.
    So if your source of transport is BI Training system and your are moving aggregate TR to BI Development , please do Activate and Fill aggregate in BI Develoment once the TR is moved.
    You have option like,
    Activate and Fill : Activate and fills data to created aggregate structure.
    Switch off : Deletes data only. Aggregate structure remains.
    Delete : Deletes  aggregate structure and data
    In your case, I think your aggreggate structure is Saved, but not activated and filled.
    Please go ahead and do activate and Fill. This will not create any issues.
    You can find it in menu options.
    Hope this helps.

  • Appying Exchange Roll Up

    I applied Exchange 2013 Sp3 Roll UP 6 to one of my servers, but when check the installed roll ups I can see that roll up 3 is still seen installed as well, but before when I used to install roll ups, the old one was deleted automatically. So could this be
    a problem or I have to uninstall the previous roll up manually. Here is how it looks now when I run Get-Exchangeserverrollup command
    EXCARSIV,Update   Rollup 6 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 (KB2936871)   14.3.195.1,2014/08/20,14.03.0195.001
    EXCARSIV,Update Rollup 3 for Exchange   Server 2010 Service Pack 3 (KB2891587) 14.3.169.1,2014/01/24,14.03.0195.001

    Hi,
    From your description, rollup 6 has been installed successfully. Also, when you run the cmdlet Amit provided, it indicates that Exchange version is Exchange 2013 rollup 6. In your case, I recommend you just let rollup 3 stay there. Don't remove it manually
    to avoid some unexpected issues.
    Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • SharePoint 2013 - document libraries and newsfeeds are visible when viewed using Internet Explorer running on the server but not from any other machine

    On a single Windows 2012 R2 server I have installed SQL 2012 and SharePoint 2013 SP1 with the latest update roll ups. When I remote desktop to the server using the farm and site collection admin account  and open page http://server_name_here using
    Internet Explorer, I'm able to see newsfeeds and document libraries.
    If I connected to a separate Windows 7 machine as  the farm and site collection admin account  and open page http://server_name_here using Internet Explorer, I'm able to view the SharePoint pages except I cannot see any newsfeeds or document libraries.
    There's just blank space where they should be. I have repeated this process on several other machines that are not the server and get the same result on every machine (I've tried other servers, desktops, adding the SharePoint site to the trusted sites list
    in IE, even using firefox). I'm using the same account as I did when I logged onto the server directly. Any thoughts as to what's going on?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the idea, Harsh. What am I looking for?
    It is currently set to the default of http://server_name and http://server_name:port_number (the latter is for Central Admin).
    When I have access to the server, I have always done so the same way, using http://server_name. This was true when I access it from the desktop of the server itself and when I tried to access it from other desktops and servers (the machines where I had the
    issues with the libraries and feeds not showing up). Are there other values I should add?
    I have not tried to add http://server_FQDN as we don't plan on using that to access it but if you think it will help I would be happy to add it.

  • To date calculations with roling calendar

    Hello,I am relatively new to Essbase and we are in the middle of building an inventory analysis database. We have 5 dimensions:Accounts,Time,Version,Customer,ProductThe time dimension spans from Year-Season-Quarter-Month-Week. Includes annual totals for 4 years. I have a rolling calendar and I do not use a scenario member to designate the year. I also have an alternate roll-up representing a fiscal year.My time dim looks somthing like this:TIME..Y2001...Fall....Quarter1.....Jan01......WK 2003-10-13..Y2002...etc, etcI am trying to come up with a YTD, STD, and MTD number for base sales_unit data. I should be able to get that number no matter what period selected in a report. For example if I am looking at Week 10-13-2003, I need to see what my MTD, QTD, and YTD numbers are for that date-member, same goes for upper level members in time. I can't use DTS because it only (seems to) work for the generation it's assigned too. Furthermore with DTS, I need the date results for my average inventory calc too.So the only way I could get this to works was with a VERY long series of if statements for each time member.Here are a few examples: For Month: IF (@ISMBR(Month01-2001)) @SUMRANGE(Sales,WK2001-02-10:WK2001-03-03); ENDIFFor Quarter: IF (@ISMBR(Quarter1-2001)) @SUMRANGE(Sales,WK2001-02-10:WK2001-05-05); ENDIFFor Season: IF (@ISMBR(Fall-2001)) @SUMRANGE(Sales,WK2001-02-10:WK2001-08-04); ENDIFThis works but data retrieval times are too slow (16 minutes) for dynamic calcs and the calc script runs for more than 6 hours.It's obvious to me that this will give me the correct results but it will not work because of performance. Any suggestion on how to deal with a to date number with reasonable calc times using a rolling calendar would be graetly appreciated!Russell Krauss, VF Inc

    I've run into similar problems and one thing I have given into is that there is no one solution. What I have been using is multiple alternate roll-ups using shared members. My Time dimension will have three or four sub-roll-ups (i.e. "By Month", "By Week", etc.) I do this by sharing the base level members (daily data). I'm not sure if it would be possible to do what you are looking to do in one roll-up because weeks will inevitably over lap months. I will check back however to see if anyone else has suggestions. One more thing to consider, if your time dimension is sparse (which is probably not a good idea in this case) but if it is, you could use attribute dimension to group some of your dates, particularly the seasons. Good luck!

  • Need help with creation of Payment Cycles

    We need you to determine a way to sum up the Measure "Prod Matl - Std" into Payment Cycles of the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th of each month. Company only pays suppliers on the Payment Cycles indicated above.
    General Rules:
         Days:          Paid on:          Example:
         1 - 5          Day 5          2008-08-01 through 2008-08-05 are all paid on 2008-08-05
         6 - 10          Day 10          2008-08-06 through 2008-08-10 are all paid on 2008-08-10
         11 - 15          Day 15          and so on…
         16 - 20          Day 20          and so on…
         21 - 25          Day 25          and so on…
         26 - 30          Day 30          and so on…
    Exceptions to Rules:
                   Paid on Day:          Example:
    1.)     31st of any month          Day 5 of the following month          2008-08-31 is paid on 2008-09-05
    2.)     Since the month of February only has 28 or 29 days, payment for the 26th-28th of Feb will occur on Feb 28th. If it is a leap year and February has 29 days, then the payment for the 26th-29th will occur on Feb 29th.
    Comments:
    Please feel free to add new measures, UDAs and any formulas necessary to accomplish the objective.

    The best advice I can give is to mock it up on a spreadsheet as follows:
    Columns: Time periods, highlight all periods (columns) that are payment cycle end dates.
    Rows: Item 1 = Amount Due, Item 2 = Amount Paid, Item 3 = Due This Cycle
    Now, all you need is to take each column and on the highlighted columns and put a formula into the Item 3 line that takes the sum of amounts paid and subtracts it from the sum of amounts due. These can run from the beginning or just back to the previous highlighted column.
    Once you have it mocked up, the formulas can be converted and members added to support it. You'll also need to get the people that make the payments to book the items, etc..., but that might already be part of the bigger picture.
    You will need to fine tune the results for roll-ups. You can either use time balance last members or create a member to store the current due/current paid elements as a running total. These are all style points though -- the bottom line is that if you can't model the process in excel or code it in essbase, you need to bring a good consulting organization in. It wouldn't take long for them to help, and I can recommend a couple in particular, but without knowing a lot more about your outline and constraints it would be very difficult to point to any one direction with certainty.

  • WBAdmin BMR backup says "There is not enough free space on the backup storage location to back up the data."

    We're doing nightly BMR backups of a small 2012 R2 Hyper-V host via wbadmin to 2TB USB disks, via
      wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:z: -quiet -noverify -vssFull -include:e:,c: -allCritical
    (where E: contains the sole VM).
    We are using the same backup system on other similar Hyper-V hosts running 2008 R2 and 2012, with no problems. However, with this 2012 R2 host, after a few months of no problems the backups started failing with:
      There is not enough free space on the backup storage location to back up the data.
    This made no sense, and continues to make no sense:
    The 2TB backup disks are only half full (>1TB free), with 600GB of unallocated shadowstorage.
    There should be room for many more backups on these disks. Each currently contains 11 to 13 backups, with the initial full backup having required about 600GB and each subsequent backup only requiring another 20GB to 40GB.
    There is over 40GB free on the C: drive and 300GB free on the E: drive; free space on the host volumes is not an issue.
    Increasing the shadowstorage limit on the backup disks to unbounded doesn't resolve the issue.
    This is not a problem of a RECOVERY partition that's too small, and SystemState backups always complete successfully.
    The first workaround we found was to temporarily reduce (not increase) the shadowstorage allocation on the E: drive (containing the VM) and then increase it back (with the end result of deleting old shadow copies).
    This worked reliably, but looking for a root cause led us to uninstall the Windows Updates installed mid-September (in particular the Aug 2014 and Sep 2014 roll-ups), which preceded the start of this problem. But instead of resolving the problem the uninstalls
    made it worse, in that our workaround stopped working.
    We reinstalled the Windows Updates, and then tried setting backup performance to normal, in case the problem was related to VSS on the host volumes, but the errors continued.
    At this point the only way we've found to work around the error is to delete 1 or 2 of the oldest backups on the destination disk, via
      wbadmin delete backup -backupTarget:z: -deleteOldest
    after which the new backup will succeed.
    But, again, this makes no sense, as the destination disks are only half full, and even if space was an issue wbadmin should delete old backups as required. And this same system is working fine on 2008 R2 and 2012.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
    Please check run the command below to check if the space required to complete the backup causes the snapshot storage space to become less than 1/8 of the target size.
    vssadmin list shadows /for=x: will list the shadow copies on x: and creation time.
    WSB will not shrink the diff area to less than 1/8 of Target volume size as we do not want to lose all past backups just to accommodate this one.

  • Need info on SimpleDateFormat, Converting String to Date

    I'm a newbie and doing a conversion of a string to a date and it's adding a little less than 11 minutes. I know I'm missing something really simple but as I read it I ought to be able to convert "20030125 084539.637696" to Sat Jan 25 08:45:39 not 8:56! Also, for the time being I'm ignoring the zulu 'Z' because I can't find a pattern that'll take it.
    System.out.println("INFO:MetadataExtractorBean::filestarttime:" + filestarttime);
    filestarttime = filestarttime.replace("Z","");
    System.out.println("after filestarttime.replace(Z,null) filestarttime:" + filestarttime);
    SimpleDateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMdd hhmmss.SSSSSS");
    Date convertedDate = dateFormat.parse(filestarttime);
    System.out.println("after dateFormat.parse(filestarttime) convertedDate:" + convertedDate);
    INFO:MetadataExtractorBean::filestarttime:20030125 084539.637696Z
    after filestarttime.replace(Z,null) filestarttime:20030125 084539.637696
    after dateFormat.parse(filestarttime) convertedDate:Sat Jan 25 08:56:16 EST 2003
    Can someone help me with a) why it doesn't remain 8:45, and b) how to modify the pattern to be able to parse a zulu date. Thanks in advance.

    import java.text.*;
    public class ParsingExample {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws ParseException {
            String s = "20030125 084539.637";
            SimpleDateFormat f = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMdd HHmmss.SSS");
            System.out.println(f.parse(s));
    }Your round up was because ".637696" was taken to mean 637,696 milliseconds. SimpleDateFormat doesn't have a way to accept microseconds, and anyway, java.util.Date only has millisecond precision. I also changed "hh" to "HH" because I assume this is with a 24 hour clock.
    edit: you can tell your date format not to do these roll ups by setting:
    f.setLenient(false);
