To convert paper document to ADOBE interactive form
hi ,
I have a senario like this,
wherein a physical paper document can be scanned and converted to an adobe interactive pdf to which we can add more fields also.
Is this possible in webdynpro java. If so please help me , if any documents are there pls send me.
with regards,
sriram
Hi sriram,
Till now webdynpro doesn't support this. U need to explicitly read the data from ur document & create a AIF , where u have to pass the data thru context.

Error in configuring Adobe Document Services (Adobe Interactive Forms)
Hi there,
I've installed the Netweaver 2004s SP16 Sneak Preview.
Then I created the user group ADSCallers and the user ADSUser.
The security roles are also configured. After that, I configured the Basic Authentication (except SLD, which I haven't done yet).
I have also made sure the IIOP and Data Manager services are set to "start always".
Finally, I installed the credentials and restarted the PDF Manipulation Module service.
When I browse to the page http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config , click on "test" and enter the login data (ADSUser), I get the following error:
" Required stream: "PDFDocument" not found."
Below is the request and the response:

AllanHi,
Actually I don't know, as I'm still learning AIF.
How can I test that?
Thank you for the response!
I've tested this though:
http://localhost:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/TutWD_OnlineInteractiveForm/OnlineInteractiveFormApp
There I can see the PDF etc, but I can't use the dropdown boxes or the submit/check buttons.
Is this because of my credentials, which are for ReaderRights?
Kind regards,
Allan

Date format convert error in XML interface based Adobe interactive forms
Hi experts,
I am using XML interface based Adobe interactive form in Web Dynpro ABAP. The form just contains some date fields and numeric fields.
When I test the WD Application, the date fields appear like 0000-00-00 at the first time. And then I set the form input disable, and get the XML from the form, at the same time I get the warning message, 'date format convert error'. By the way, I have set the edit pattern, display pattern and data pattern of the date field to YYYYMMDD, but there seems no effect.
Could you tell me how to set the default date format in date field Or clear the 0000-00-00?
And another question, all of the numeric fields in the form appear like 0.0, how can I set it to empty when the form initialize?
Best Regards,
Guo Guo QingHi Chintan,
Thank you for your reply.
I have tried every possible changes on the Date field, locale, pattern. But still no effect. When the PDF come up in the WDA program, the date field is still '0000-00-00', and then I export the XML date of the form, there is also '0000-00-00' in the interface field.
I can't clear the '0000-00-00' in initializiation event using javascript because if I need to open the form again, if I do this, the value user input could be cleared.
I also try using Javascrip like this
if this.rawValue == "0000-00-00"
{ this.rawValue = ""; }
The code above can't clear the initializiation zeros too.
Have you used the XML interface based online Adobe Forms? I have used XML PDF forms for output before, that's perfect. But the input forms seems so strange.

Adobe Interactive Forms complaining that document has changed
Hi,
We are trying to run an Adobe interactive form in a MS IE browser but when running the form we receive a message from Adobe... and I'll try to translate it from Dutch to English... "This document contains a number of priviledges for switching on special functions in Adobe reader. The document has been changed since it was last made and the priviledges are no longer active. Contact the author of the original document."
For those few dutch speakers the message says "Dit document bevatte bepaalde rechten voor het inschakelen van speciale functies in Adobe Reader. Het document is gewijzigd sinds het is gemaakt en deze rechten zijn niet meer geldig. Neem contact op met de auteur van de oorspronkelijke versie van het document".
After accepting the message the form is displayed but it is not possible to enter anything into the form - it is read only.
We are completely lost as to why we receive this message. What document is it taking about? How can the document change? Can anyone explain?
Incidently we were using the recommended versions of MS IE, the SAP AG activeX component SP15 and Adobe 7.0.1. We upgraded to SP16 and Adobe 7.0.7 but it has not made any difference. We have followed the configuration instructions so that the browser can run ActiveX components etc.
Needless to say this works with no problems in a development environment, but the problems we experience above are in a production environment running Citrix Metaframe and where users have managed profiles. We thought it may be a problem with Windows policies, but the messages come from Adobe, not Windows.
Help,
Jonathan.Jonathan
Did you solve this isssue ?. I am facing the same issue while accessing the Form via Citrix !
Thanks

Copy&paste from a file excel to Adobe Interactive Form
Hi all
my project is based on WDJ and Adobe Interactive Form.
I need to know if it is possible to do a copy&paste from a file excel to my Adobe Interactive Form.
Can I copy an area of data from an Excel spreadsheet (set of contiguous rows and columns)
and paste them into a text field of my form, preserving the formatting (font, size, structure of coloums/rows,...)?
Can you help me please?
Thanks! You may try posting this question in either the Designer or Forms forum.
This forum is for the LiveCycle PDF Generator ES product - a server side document conversion module. If you want to convert the entire Excel spreadsheet to a PDF server side, then PDF Generator is the correct tool to use. -
Adobe Interactive Forms via Mail and PI.
Hi All,
We are currently implementing an adobe interactive forms scenario (offline) at our customer.
The initial scenario was the folllowing
1. PDF is generated on the CRM system and downloaded towards the clients PC
2. PDF is adjusted by enduser
3. When all info is added, enduser presses the submit button in the pdf, this triggers the sending of an email, with an attachment containing the filled in data in xml format.
4. PI reads the mail, takes the XML and processes the data.
The scenario was quiet easy to enable.
Now the customer wants the PDF to be mailed instead of or toghetger with the xml representing the data. Reason for this is that they want to pdf to be stored inside the initial transaction (service order) in SAP (archiving reasons).
The PI system is just acting as a mail client. When the mail is read, the pdf needs to be converted into an xml, representing the data. I would like to use the adobe document service to convert the pdf.
So the system that generates the pdf (=CRM) and the system that needs to convert it (PI) is different.
Can the adobe document service by addressed from within a standard java or abap class.
Any idea whether this can be done and how?
Easier solution would be, attaching the pdf and the xml in the mail message. Is this possible?
Kind regards
JorisHi,
Adobe Interactive form can be generated and sent it via email by using a normal Java class. But that Java class should run in a server which should contain Adobe DocumentService. This java class can be archived as a par file and deployed on Portal server or can be written as a Webservice and can be triggered by clicking on a URL.
Hope this blog helps.

Adobe Interactive Forms Tutorials for Beginner
Hi Experts,
I am new to Adobe Interactive Forms. Just gone through some documents. Saw some sample forms. But i need some tutorials guide to start the developement in NWDS. Kindly help me.
Thanks,
BidyutHello,
I would recommend you to read the Adobe forms blogs here:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/weblogs/topic/110
Of course you will need some scripting reference (even if you don´t think so yet):
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/lc_designer_scripting_basics/lc_designer_scripting_basics.pdf
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/FormCalc.pdf
Probably you will need a setup guide for ADS or a troubleshooting paper if the forms service would stop working. But you can find all these in the other threads. I am also not sure which version of LCD you´re running, note there is 8.1 available which is very much better than the previous versions.
Note: I feel the Java approach to forms is not that common here so you may find it difficult to find people here to help you. But I am sure there are some very nice guys working with Java here and hope you will be able to reach them.
Happy development

Adobe Interactive Forms & CRM2007
Hi guys,
we have to integrate CRM2007 and adobe interactive forms. Let's say when clicking a button in a CRM view it launch the adobe interactive form and then, if it gets changed, it should update some fields in CRM.
we have looked at some post but couldn't understand clearly. Can anyone help us with the steps requireds?
1) can we create our own WS that updates the fields when pressing a button from the form? If you can refer information would be great.
2) or should we create a form in Tx:sfp and then use FM to access this form inside the BSP to read the data and update the fields that were changed?
Hope you can help us on this. Thanks in advance.
ManuelHi again,
the scenario is the following.. we have a pdf document, that is saved in the local machine, if I open it, fill some fields, and then press submit button, a ws is called. This WS creates a BP in CRM with the correponding data inserted into the form. Inside the form there are some fields that gets populated with the response from CRM systems (WS).
We have to build the same funcionality, we have a WS working in CRM (we tested it with another tool and it's responing well), then create the adobe form with adobe livecycle designer and create the data connection with the WSDL of the WS. Then we use the function IFDEMO01_DRIVER01 to convert the .xdp files to .pdf, but when we executed the pdf file that the function creates it doesn't work. It attemps to connect but we never get the response.
Do you know if this steps are the corrects ones?
please, if you can send me the code for the scenario you describe (inbound mail), that would be a huge help.
thank you!! for your time and response.
Best Regards,

Web Service is not triggering using Adobe Interactive Form
Hello Experts,
I know this is a common topic now , but the problem I am facing, no thread help me to solve that.
Problem:--
My requirement is to create an adobe form , in which
-> an input field is needed, and some description is needed.
I used button to trigger my webservice.
Here , I want to clear that , I have made a proper WEB SERVICE using Remote Enabled FM.
My web service is working fine as I have tested from WS NAVIGATOR(Note: http://<source>:<port>/wsnavigator).
In Adobe Form (SFP), I have made a new Data connection using WebService WSDL.
All Request and Response parameters are availabe in Data View palletes of Form.
Button that is available from data connection is used.
I have used Button as an Execute button , under execute tab in connection , I had given DATA CONNECTION name .
But above things not worked so ,
I also tried with Regular Button , and under click written Javascript/FormCalc which is:--
var cURL = 'http://x.y.com:8012/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZMATERIAL_DESCRIPTION?sap-client=800&wsdl=1.1';
var service = SOAP.connect(cURL);
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection2.execute(0);
But this also not worked .
So, I think there can be a little issue may be , I am forgetting to click some special atrributes in form .
Please help me and let me know what can be probable reasons that webservice is not triggering
Thanks a lot ,
JeetSolved my self, converted PDF into image and used that pdf as a static image in Adobe Interactive Form.

If you are developig your form using NWDS, make sure about the cardinality of the context parameter - data Source not 0..1 or 0..n.You may refer similar threads (of same kind of error) in this forum..
Hope this helps. Assuming you have successfully tested, ADS and the credential file at the ABAP stack, by rurnning the respective ABAP reports.
Thanks and Regards,
