TOC Status for a slide doesn't update until all of group is viewed (Cap 5)

I'm having some trouble understanding some behavior I'm seeing with the TOC status flag. It's my understanding that, in Captivate 5, the status flag only appears after you reach the end of a slide. In newer versions, that has changed so that a user need only view a slide to trigger the status flag.
Either one of those would be acceptable to me, but I'm experiencing something different. My TOC is structured so that only the first slide in a slide group appears in the TOC, such that these are more like chapter stops than granular, slide-level navigators (I have 174 slides in the project, so chapters are more digestible). Entries in the TOC do not show completion unless all slides in the chapter have been viewed, not just the initial slides which populate the TOC. This becomes a problem in specific chapters, ones in which I turn things over to the user to interact with the demo software and involve some branching, that do not show completion unless every slide in that chapter are touched. Why is this? Shouldn't the TOC depend only on the slides shown in the TOC? If so, I can ensure that opening slide to a chapter, the one populating the TOC is viewed to completion. Instead, this appears to be tied to the branching within these chapters, even though those slides aren't represented in the TOC.
To be clear:
I'm only concerned with this status flag in the TOC; I'm not concerned about completion reporting for the course as a whole (I handle that in a different way).
I've set the activity launch button on the initial chapter slide to "Continue" to the next slide, ensuring the slide is viewed to completion.
I can reliably reproduce that the status flag does not appear unless every slide in the chapter/group has been viewed, and that it definitely does appear when every slide has been viewed.
This does not vary with the grouping of the slides; I removed the group and experienced the same status behavior.
I'm aware of the TickTock widget, may resort to it if necessary, but I'm perplexed by what I thought would be straightforward behavior.
I'm not concerned with a rigorous check that users have completed every slide; I simply want the TOC to show that a chapter has been visited, and for that purpose viewing the initial slide for the activity is good enough for me.
Any ideas?

Thinking bit out of the box, when I read your question. To show that a chapter has been visited, shouldn't a custom menu (or dashboard) be a better solution than trying to use the canned way with TOC? Something like the example in this post:

For that old version advanced actions could only be transferred to a new project using a template. And shared actions were still far away.

    You can turn mail off in the settings but then you can't use it for anything, including the "test" that you want to perform.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account Name>Mail>Off. That totally turns off the mail account.
    As long as mail is turned on and you launch the app, it will look for an download new mail.

    Are you using any software to import videos? Did you tried Picasa or you just open your iPhone from My Computer?

    Just as a warning, your credit card number has been sent in the clear to probably thousands of people, including anyone who subscribes to e-mail alerts to this forum.  That's very, very bad.  The credit card should be considered compromised at this point, and you should cancel it immediately, if you haven't done so already.

  • Smart mailbox for Unread messages doesn't update automatically.

    Hello everyone.
    I've set up a smart mailbox in Mail to show only my unread messages.  But, it doesn't update automatically in that when I read a message, that message remains visible in the list until I leave and then return to the "Unread Messages" smart mailbox.
    Any thoughts as to how I can get it to update automatically?

    Thanks for the note, Jeffrey and trust me when I say I'm a die-hard Apple believer.  But, at work I support Windows machines and Outlook has views to show only unread messages.  As soon as a messages is read and we move on to the next messages, the read message drops out of the list.  This is what I'm look for so that I can apply it to the few Macs I also support at work.
    What Apple's Mail gives us is good, but what we were hoping was to have the smart mailbox work the same way that Outlook's feature does.  However, I still much prefer working with Mail rather than with Outlook.  So, we will adjust.

  • I am trying to transfer apps that are in my iTunes library to various devices through iTunes.  Music I can just drag and drop from library to device, but it will not let me do this for apps.  I'm updated to all the most recent version on devices/itunes.

    The weird things is that under my device Apps is not listed.  This is true for both my ipad and my iphone.  I do not Sync either of my devices with itunes, but do back them up.  Thanks.

  • Customized program for format payments doesn't work in all operating unit

    I would like to ask for your help with the issue I’m having right now with the customized program I’ve created.
    Background:
    A customized program using XML was created for check payments. This check format is used when printing Payment Batches. I tried to register this program in two operating unit, one is EMR AP SuperUser-EPT-APDUS and the other one is EMR AP SuperUser-EPT-APDMX. The program completes successfully in EMR AP SuperUser-APDUS but not in EMR AP SuperUser-EPT-ADPMX. The set up was the same for both OU. In every time I tried to run the program by:
    1. Create a batch name in Payment Batches.
    2. Enter the Invoice Batch Name
    3. Assigned the Bank Account and Document type
    4. Save and hit the Actions..1 button
    5. Then Select the Format Payments - I've entered the same program for both OU
    The program errors out including the Payment Process Manager in APDMX OU but not in APDUS. Please help me fix this issue as this is a very high priority task.

  • GREP search for \$ Dollar sign doesn't find them all?

    OK-I was practicing my GREP yesterday and was working with escaping out characters. Since the $ could not be found, I assumed it needed to be escaped out \$. The odd thing is, when I say find next, it skips many of them in the document?
    Anyone know why?

    This has been reported before; it's an oddity of ID's implementation of GREP. Nobody knows why! (*)
    It only works reliably when you do not use the escape code \$ (you were, in fact, correct to try that first!), but instead use the Unicode notation for a dollar sign: \x{0024}.
    I've noticed some strange GREP-related behavior myself: at times, it seems "Find Next" can skip a *huge* quantity of text and finds something near the end of the file; but a next "Find Next" mysteriously jumps back to the previous find position, and continues from there as if nothing happened.
    (*) I'm pretty sure it's the Adobe engineers that are responsible for this. According to Peter Kahrel, Adobe didn't write the GREP module by themselves but chose to use a free programming library called "boost". Now boost is an extremely thorough piece of work that has gone through literally years of development and dozens, if not hundreds of programmers (probably unpaid as well, since boost is open source), and I cannot imagine something like this to slip through unnoticed.
    But ... for InDesign, the Adobe programmers had to add code to cater for InDesign's own special characters and codes -- stuff like the special characters and spaces, and text variables. It's not hard to imagine a programmer accidentally changing a line of code that did the, erm, "now search for \$" stuff.

    If you are getting Siri when you double tap, then your home button must be sticking. Siri comes up when you hold the home button. Try tapping quickly twice. When that happens, the multi-tasking list comes up and you will see the app icon and then a thumbnail, or reduced size view of the app above it. You put your finger on that thumbnail and swipe upwards with your finger.
    For that issue, you might want to do a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will not affect your data.
    To be honest, your novel is a little difficult to read, and I think you put too much information in there, and a lot of it is unnecessary. Be to the point and just add information necessary to understand the issue.

  • My Music doesn't update

    I use iTunes Match and purchase most music through iTunes.  Whenever I go to my music and look at my music is almost always doesn't contain recently purchase music or playlists I have added.  Often for days it doesn't update.  Sometimes powering off and back on the apple tv will help but it seems to be very difficult to get it to refresh or show purchases.  If I go to Top Music and look at a album I purchased it shows Play almost immediately so it knows I purchased it, but the playlists and artists and albums etc under my music is never accurate without multiple attempts.  Any suggestions how to fix this it's super frustrating.

    Okay, mine now works here is what I did.
    plug in the iPhone, iPad etc
    in iTunes select the phone or iPad
    Under Summary uncheck "Sync with this....."
    Under "Music" uncheck the "Sync Music"
    Let it remove all the songs, dont worry it will come back no problems.
    Once that is all done all the music on the phone or ipad should be gone.
    Now check them both back on and everything should copy back onto it.
    Working now !!!!!

  • Extracting User Status for Sales Orders

    I am trying to extract user status transactional data for sales orders (at both the header and item level).  I have been following SAP note 300300 to configure the status extractors and map the BW objects to sales order status data sources (2LIS_11_VASTH & 2LIS_11_VASTI).  I think I have set up both R/3 and BW correctly according to note 300300 and the IMG documentation, but I am not getting any values in the info source for the new user status info objects, when I run the extract.
    Has anyone successfully done this?  If so, do you have any documentation or pointers on how I can get this to work?  Or, am I better off creating a generic extractor?  Thanks for your consideration.

    well yes, I can derive the status for that order in the update rules if i show the status as an attribute of the 0pm_order; but basically there will be only the last status shown.
    My problem:
    a. i report on day 1, the status of the order is REL
    b. on day 2 i load the master data for the orders, new status is TECO
    c. on day three i want to report in the past and see the status of day 1; that's not possible in this scenario because i'll see the current status (TECO).
    So that's why I want to have the statuses in the cube...
    The 2lis_17_i3hdr extractor is only sensitive to CRT and TECO statuses, but not to the others (like REL / BLC and so on... :_(( )
    I could read the statuses from the JEST and TJ02T tables...but still, if a document status is changed, no delta record is written in the queue...

  • Terminal display doesn't update

    I upgraded from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7 last weekend. Since then, Terminal.app doesn't work correctly: I can enter commands, but the window display doesn't update until I click it, so I can't see what I'm typing.
    For example, I launch Terminal and a window opens. It is blank. I click it, and my command prompt appears. I enter ls -l, but I don't see what I've typed until I click the window again. I press Enter, but nothing happens until I click the window again ... then the directory list appears.
    While writing this note, I also noticed that if I move to another application, the Terminal window also updates at that point. It just doesn't update in real time as I'm running commands.
    Has anyone else seen this? And more importantly can anyone suggest a solution?
    UPDATE: I just moved my com.apple.Terminal.plist preferences file to the desktop and launched Terminal again ... no problems. Then I replaced the preferences file and launched again ... still no problems. ??? Anyway, it's working for me now, but I'll go ahead and leave this note in case it helps someone else.

    My reminders currently show on both my iPad and iPhone when they are due. When I tick a reminder to show it complete, it will only show as complete on the device I am currently using and doesn't update to all my devices.
    In the reminders app, the reminders do show as iCloud reminders. Does anyone know if I can set it up so that regardless of the device I use, marking a reminder as complete will update to all other devices?

    Sorry, you can't extract those photos from the old device unless you restore the new phone from that backup.
    You could of course use a third party software to extract those pics but it will cost you.
    If you still have the old phone import those pics to your computer and then sync those photos to your new phone via itunes.
