Tomahawk selectOneRadio

I am trying to get two selectOneRadio components in the same group using the tomahawk selectOneRadio component. This component has a forceId parameter but it does not seem to work:
<t:selectOneRadio id="UNIQUEID" forceIdIndex="false" forceId="true" required="true" value="HELLO">
     <j:selectItem itemValue="HELLO" itemLabel="HELLO" />
     <j:selectItem itemValue="GOODBYE" itemLabel="GOODBYE" />
</t:selectOneRadio>
<t:selectOneRadio id="UNIQUEID" forceIdIndex="false" forceId="true" required="true" value="">
     <j:selectItem itemValue="HELLOAGAIN" itemLabel="HELLO AGAIN" />
     <j:selectItem itemValue="GOODBYEFORNOW" itemLabel="GOODBYE FOR NOW" />
</t:selectOneRadio>
The html output gives the first group an id of UNIQUEID and the second group an id of UNIQUEID_1
Any ideas?

oh, you mean it doesn't work in such case?
Actually, it makes me laugh out loud. Isn't that exactly what I told in my blog (above posting) about what is wrong with JSF? It is sad too.
Unfortunately, I have no solution for you. If you don't want to switch to Tapestry, you have to write your own radio component just for that case! Crass.

  • Would tomahawk selectOneRadio work in html  table tag

    hey guys,
    i want to use the tomahawk tag in a html table in JSF pages, but it seen unwork, my example is shown below
    <f:view>
    <h:form>
    <table>
    <!-- include from the other pages called LIC3320.jsp -->
    <x:selectOneRadio id="select" layout="spread" forceId="true" forceIdIndex="false" value="#{LIC3320.currentSelect}">
    <f:selectItem itemValue="dog" itemLabel="Dog"/>
    <f:selectItem itemValue="cat" itemLabel="Cat"/>
    <f:selectItem itemValue="fish" itemLabel="Fish"/>
    </x:selectOneRadio>
    <f:verbatim>
    <tr><td align="center" colspan="4">
    </f:verbatim>
    <x:radio for="select" index="0"></x:radio>
    <f:verbatim>
    </td></tr>
    </f:verbatim>
    <!-- include from the other pages called LIC3320.jsp -->
    </table>
    </h:form>
    <f:view>
    the main problem is the radio isn't in the table, it came before the table and show at the top of the table. Is if i use tomahawk tag, i must use datetable in JSF?
    Thanks
    emmy

    We have successfully used the Tomahawk radio component within a plain table using JSF 1.1 (MyFaces 1.1.5) and JSF 1.2 (the Sun RI 1.2_04). We also use facelets however and so did not use the verbatim tag.
    Did you try looking at the component tree to see if it is in the correct order?
    What implementation and version of JSF are you using?
    Which version of Tomahawk?
    Did you check the generated HTML to see if it is what you expect?

  • T:selectOneRadio requiredMessage tag is not foune in tomahawk lib

    Hello,
    I want to give custom required message for radio button when user do not select one. But i didn't get any tag like JSF has "requiredMessage".
    Can anyone suggest me how to implement this functionality.
    code for select one radio is follow:
                  <t:selectOneRadio id="sor" value="SI" layout="pageDirection"
                   required="true" >
                   <f:selectItem id="si1" itemLabel="" itemValue="sa"/>
                   <f:selectItem id="si2" itemLabel="" itemValue="lo" />
                   <f:selectItem id="si3" itemLabel="" itemValue="lg" />
                   <f:selectItem id="si4" itemLabel="" itemValue="bq" />
              </t:selectOneRadio>What i need is to give requiredMessage like in JSF, we can give as follows:
                  <h:selectOneRadio id="sor" value="SI" requiredMessage="Please Select Radio" id="radio" required="true">
                   <f:selectItem id="si1" itemLabel="" itemValue="sa"/>
                   <f:selectItem id="si2" itemLabel="" itemValue="lo" />
                   <f:selectItem id="si3" itemLabel="" itemValue="lg" />
                   <f:selectItem id="si4" itemLabel="" itemValue="bq" />
              </h:selectOneRadio>But i didn't find any tag like requiredMessage in tomawak.
    Can anyone help me on this?
    Thank you,
    Bipin Sutariya

    The Tomahawk components are (Java) extensions of the standard components, so since the property is on the standard component, it will be on the Tomahawk component. If you are using Facelets, then no problem, just use the property and it ought to work. If you are using JSP, you need to hope that the tag implementation includes the property.

    {color:#0000ff}The most i dont understand is why it suddenly cant load the tomahawk.jar. I have put it under web-inf/lib/ folder in my website. could anyone give me any hints.
    {color}
    {color:#0000ff}Thanks you so much

    The error you get is probably because you are using <h:selectOneRadio .../> for each radio button. The usage however defines to encapsulate radio options within <h:selectOneRadio> </h:selectOneRadio>
    Something like
    <h:selectOneRadio value=${form.radio}>
    <f:selectItem itemValue="HighSchool1" itemLabel="itemLabel1" />
    <f:selectItem itemValue="HighSchool2" itemLabel="itemLabel2" />
    <f:selectItem itemValue="HighSchool3" itemLabel="itemLabel3" />
    </h:selectOneRadio>
    Hope it helps...
    cheers

  • SelectOneRadio inside a columnEx

    Hello,
    I need to render a radio buttons in a table, one button for each row, to allow selection of the row for the user.
    How can I do that if "dataTableEx" is used for rendering the table ?
    If I simply put selectOneRadio into hx:columnEx, each row contains independent set of buttons.

    This issue has been solved by using the latest tomahawk-SVN version!

  • H:selectOneRadio text placement

    Hello,
    Is there anyway to get the text label for the h:selectOneRadio component to be on the LEFT of the radio button, rather than the right? I can't seem to find if this is possible.
    Thanks for the help.

    I was afraid you'd say that. The last time I tried to use Tomahawk for its Tree component, nothing worked because we are using JSF 1.0 and I don't think Tomahawk's current version is backward compatible. Unless I'm wrong, which I hope I am.

  • SelectOneRadio in several rows...

    Hi All,
    I am struggling to generate the below layout with <h:selectOneRadio>
    radio1 | text1 | text11
    radio2 | text2 | text22
    radio3 | text3 | text33
    Can any one help me how to get the above layout with <h:selectOneRadio>
    Thanks
    cvam

    The Sun JSF Mojarra doesn't provide this functionality. I can suggest you to extend it with the Tomahawk component library. It has an extented t:selectOneRadio which adds the "spread" option to the "layout" attribute. This enables you to define the t:selectOneRadio once and place the t:radio items anywhere in the page. • SelectOneRadio in datatable without javascript

    Hi,
    As per my business requirement i need to implement selectoneradio in datatable without using javascript.
    I tried sloving this by using selectOneRow provided by sandbox.
    <%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/sandbox" prefix="s"%>
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
         <h:outputText value="Select" />

         <s:selectOneRow groupName="selection" d="select" value="" immediate="true"
         valueChangeListener="#{SourceInputController.selectSourceInputRequest}" />
    </h:column>
    I got the following error.

  • How to get selected value from selectOneRadio ???

    Hi...i want to how to get selected value from selectOneRadio and use it in another page and in backing bean.
    Note i have about 10 selectOneRadio group in one page i want to know value of each one of them.
    Plzzzzzzzz i need help

    You have a datatable in which each row is a question, correct?
    Also in each row you have 5 possible answers that are in a radio, correct?
    So,
    You need to put in your datatable model, a question, and a list of answers (5 in yor case) and the selected one.
    So you will have a get to the question, an SelectItem[] list to populate the radios and another get/set to the selected question.
    ex:
    <h:selectOneRadio value="#{notas.selectedString}" id="rb">
    <f:selectItem itemValue="#{notas.valuesList}"/>
    </h:selectOneRadio>
    Search the web for examples like yours.

  • Can af:selectOneRadio initial selection be set to values from view object?

    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
    Hi all. I have a selectOneRadio on a data entry page which works well. Now I want to (if possible) use the selectOneRadio on an edit page--setting the choice initially to the values that were stored in a database table's record (from the data entry page). I am able to retrieve the data selected in the data entry page, but I can't find anything referencing what I want to do on the edit page. Note that my selectOneRadio objects are actually on jsff's in a region on a page. I've supplied how I designed selectOneRadio on the data entry page in hopes that someone can gleen from it and tell me how to set one up on the edit page and set its initial value to the value combination stored.
    There are two columns in the data displayed (example):
    Short Format / Text
    Short Format / Comma Delimited
    Long Format / Text
            <af:selectOneRadio value="#{bindings.Pay_File_Data_FmtVO1.inputValue}"
                               shortDesc="#{bindings.Pay_File_Data_FmtVO1.hints.tooltip}" id="sor1"
                               inlineStyle="text-align:left; font-size:2.0em;"
                               autoSubmit="true" showRequired="false" label="File Format">
              <f:selectItems value="#{bindings.Pay_File_Data_FmtVO1.items}" id="si111"/>
            </af:selectOneRadio>
    public class FileTypesBean {
        String fileFormat = null;
        String dataFormat = null;
        public BindingContainer getBindings() {
            return BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
        public void getFileTypesSelection(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
            fileFormat =
                    (String)resolveExpression("#{bindings.Pay_File_Data_FmtVO1.attributeValue}");
            dataFormat =
                    (String)resolveExpression("#{bindings.Pay_File_Data_FmtVO1.attributeValues[1]}");

    in the amimpl have an edit method, get the value you want to set and set that value for your af:selectOneRadio, row.setAttribute(PayFileDataFmtVO1, value);

  • Af:selectOneRadio immediate attribute does not work

    Hi,
    I am using ADF 10g faces components. I have af:selectOneRadio component on my page. I have few required fields on my page. I have set autoSubmit=true and immediate="true" to this component but still the validation fires and show validation errors.
    Anyone with solution would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    immediat = true does suppress client side validation but not server side validation. For this, in a Value Change Listener, you need to call facesContext.renderResponse()

  • H:selectOneRadio required true does not work

    Hi,
    I have a selectOneRadio and it was a required="true" attribute. Some how, it never works. All the other validations in the page work except this one. Any clues??

         </h:selectOneRadio>
         <h:message for="selectOneRadioID" errorClass="errorMessage"></h:message>
    </h:panelGrid>I don't have immediate on my button. I am using Sun's RI 1.0
    Thanks,
    Dushy

    Hi Dushy,
    Try putting an inline message or message list component in the page. This would show any error messages and it would be easier to understand what is happening if there is an error.

  • Trying to use tomahawk and rich faces jar?

    I tried a very simple example to know how to use menu group. These are the following steps:
    1. I opened a web application using Netbeans using JSF as framework.
    2. When I run my application, it worked and welcomeJSF page was displayed.
    3. Then I wanted to a try a sample program. Hence I modified welcomeJSF page as below:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/tomahawk" prefix="t" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://richfaces.org/rich" prefix="rich" %>
    <f:subview id="menuSubView">
        <h:form>
            <t:panelGrid columns="1" width="50">
                <rich:dropDownMenu value="Menu" direction="bottom-right">
                    <rich:menuItem value="Home" action="home"/>
                    <rich:menuSeparator id="menuSeparator1"/>
                    <rich:menuGroup value="test">
                        <rich:menuGroup value="Library ">
                            <rich:menuItem action="regNewLibrary" value="new"/>
                            <rich:menuItem action="regEditLibrary" value="edit"/>
                        </rich:menuGroup>
                       <rich:menuGroup value="Sample ">
                            <rich:menuItem action="regNewSample" value="new"/>
                            <rich:menuItem action="regEditSample" value="edit"/>
                        </rich:menuGroup>
                        <rich:menuGroup value="search ">
                            <rich:menuItem action="regSearchLibrary" value="library"/>
                            <rich:menuItem action="regSearchSample" value="sample"/>
                        </rich:menuGroup>
                    </rich:menuGroup>
                    <rich:menuSeparator id="menuSeparator2"/>
                    <rich:menuGroup value="test2 ">
                        <rich:menuItem action="testSelectLibrary" value="Load Library"/>
                        <rich:menuItem action="testSeqRequest" value="Seq Request"/>
                    </rich:menuGroup>
                    <rich:menuSeparator id="menuSeparator3"/>
                    <rich:menuItem value="Exit" action=" testing"/>
                </rich:dropDownMenu>
            </t:panelGrid>
        </h:form>
    </f:subview>4. I added tomahawk-1.1.6.jar, richfaces-api-3.1.0.jar, richfaces-impl-3.1.0.jar, richfaces-ui-3.1.0.jar into libraries.
    5. When I run my application, I get an error report as below:

    description The requested resource (/test1/) is not available.Can anyone tell me what went wrong?
