Tool for visually building an SQL query?

Hello,
Can anybody recommend a good tool that allows building an Oracle SQL query through a visual interface (similar to MS Access query builder)?
I checked Oracle SQL Developer (from Oracle) but apparently it only allows building SELECT queries visually, I need to be able to create UPDATE and INSERT statements as well...

I'm not very clear on what you want or what you are trying to 'simulate'.
If you are looking for a way to "build a gui" that allows you to simultaneously modify multiple rows of data in a table:
This sounds like a "tabular form" in Oracle APEX (which is free with all editions of Oracle including the free XE edition. )

Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio 2013 - v2.2 install fails on Windows Server 2012 R2

The installation completes without any errors on my VM running Windows Server 2012 R2, however its not recognized in VS2013 ? It also breaks the Publish functionality when I try and publish a web site to my hosting provider.

I tried install, uninstall, reinstall cycle several times without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Connection Problem When Using Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio

I tried to create an Oracle Connection in my Visual Studio 2008 after installing Oracle 11g, Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) with Oracle Devleoper Tools for Vissual Studio version 11.1.0.6.20.
I followed the directions according to "Building .NET Applications Using Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio, when I click Test Connection, I keep getting the error message below.

I solved the problem.
This is what I did for the benefit of the embryonic newbe like me.
On the Add Connection Dialog
1.     For Data source name I selected Local Database
2.     I clicked on the specific User Name and I typed SYSTEM
3.     For Password, I typed orcl (the password I setup during the installation) (HR did not work for me for User name and Password according to the tutorial instructions)
4.     For Role, I selected Default
5.     Connection Name, I selected Local Database
6.     Before proceeding any further went to Windows XP SP3 where I was operating from, under Start Menu, I selected Administrative Tools then Services
a.     On the Windows Services (Local) Dialog, under name, I selected OracleServiceORCL and OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener. I clicked on them one at a time
b.     On the presented Dialog, under Service Status, I Clicked on the Start Button to start the Services
c.     Then I went back to the Add Connection Dialog. I clicked on Test Connection, it connected okay. I finally clicked on Okay to connect.

Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 on Windows 10 Technical Preview

Hi, I've never developed a plugin for Office before. I've downloaded the technical preview of Windows 10 and have it running via Boot Camp on my MacBook (Looks good! I'll buy it when it comes out). Obviously with this being in beta it's understandable that
there are problems, so this is just a heads up on one particular problem. Maybe there's already a solution or workaround?
I've downloaded Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition, brought a copy of Microsoft Office Home And Student 2013 and am currently in the process of installing Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013.
The only problem though is that when I try to install it I get the following message:

I also tried to download the file directly and run that.

I right clicked on the file and noticed an options called "Troubleshoot Compatibility". There was a wizard, and I ran through the wizard a number of times through different routes but none of them worked. I was unable to find the option which turned
off compatibility mode. I then searched for answers online which told me to do some things in the regedit program but that didn't seem to solve the problem.
Anyway, I understand that this is a beta version of Windows 10 and that there are going to be problems but thought it would be best to let you know. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and buy Windows 8.

Build dynamic SQL query in Database Adapter.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to build dynamic sql query at Database Adapter.
My BPEL process is getting search spec as input from siebel. I need to process this searchspec in BPEL and need to build the SQL query dynamically at Database Adapter to fetch the records from DB.
it goes like this....
1. Sieble Search Spec: city1 OR city2 OR city3 OR city4 .....
I need to build query as
select * from S_ADDR_PER where city like 'city1' OR city like 'city2' OR city like 'city3' OR city like 'city4' ......
2. Siebel Search spec: city1 AND country1 AND state1....
I need to build query as
Select * from S_ADDR_PER where city like 'city1' AND country like 'country1' AND state like 'state1' ....
3. Siebel Search spec: state
I need to build query as
select * from S_ADDR_PER where state like '%state%';
Is it feasible in Database Adapter? if its Yes.
Any guidelines to achieve this?

- MySQL Integration (design tools, etc ?)

How to install "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" without "Web Platform Installer"?

I have visual studio 2012 ultimate for practice , now I want to do SharePoint 2013 development through that. Generally I should download "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" through
Web Platform Installer, but for some reason I want to avoid installing "Web Platform Installer".
Is there any way where I can download and install "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" without downloading "Web Platform Installer"?

Help needed in building a sql query

I am using Oracle 10g db.
I have 3 tables table1 and table2 and table3
I am writing one sql query which is like
select table1.a a1,(select distinct b from table2,table3 where table2.id=table3.id and table1.id=table2.id) b1
from table1
Now the b1 value may give more then 1 values so when i am trying to execute the query its giving me error.
What i would like to have is if it gives returns more then 1 value then add that value as a new column means if b1 gives like abc and def as values.
Then i want the sql to return like
acolvalue abc def as a single row.
Is this possible to do?

The approach which i took is i wrote a function which gives me the b values , sseparated.
Then i am building a outer query considering the max of b so i just found there are max 10 values which one row is showing.
select b11,b12,b13,,,b10
from (
select table1.a a1,func(select distinct b from table2,table3 where table2.id=table3.id and table1.id=table2.id) b1
from table1)
but now i am facing problem like the value of b1 is a,b,c
i want to use the substr and instr function to get
a as b11
b as b12
c as b13
can anyone pls help me out to write a query? i am getting b11 but other values are somehow not coming.

We would like to build our sql statements based on the parameters passed in. Does anyone know how to do this.
for example say something like

Use a reference parameter in your query. Set the initial value of referece to "user_manager_id=input_manager_id". At runtime, the user may change the "WHERE" clause by entering an appropriate value in the parameter form.
* Create a query as: select business_name from business where &P_1
* The initial value of P_1 should be set to: user_manager_id=input_manager_id
* At runtime, the user will be prompted to enter values for P_1. The user may then specify "user_id=input_user_id" for P_1 or leave it alone.

To build dynamic SQL Query using some conditions: Pseudo code required

I have a requirement where in i have to build a dynamic query based on one count.
Some details on requirement:
1) It's a Proc where i need to return some columns
2) There are some fix set of columns
3) Based on one Count column, i have to decide the rest of the columns.
Consider there is an employee who can work on 'N' number of assignments.
For a particular employee i have to return all the predefined details of assignments like:
1) Assignment Name
2) Assignmanet Id
3) Assignemnt Start Date
4) Assignment End Date
This 'N' can vary from employee to employee. Based on which i have to return my result set. For instance if employee has 3 assignemnts, i have to return Fix columns( employee info) + (3*4) columns. Similarly if the employee has 4 assignments, i will be returning Fix columns + (4*4) columns.
Certainly, the Employee ID is coming as an I/P parameter.
The source table is a vertical table having all details of the employee assignments.
Can anyone help me in coding this proc with the help of some pseudo code?

Customizing the HTML for a Report from SQL Query

I have created a Report from a SQL query that outputs a list of items from a single table column. There are 65 rows returned by the report. I would like to display all the results on one page but the length of the list prevents this. Is there any way of presenting the results as multiple columns on the same page?
ie
Res1 Res2 Res3
Res4 Res5 Res6
or
Res1 Res3 Res5
Res2 Res4 Res6
I thought about using a 3 column portlet region and attempting to customise the report displayed via each of the portlets but I would prefer to avoid this as it would require the development and maintenance of an additional template.

I have used my SQL query as a cursor in a dynamic page and then used the cursor and htp.p statements to tabulate my results as per my requirements.

How to build an SQL Query to print Week ranges of a Month

Hi Gurus!!
I have a requirement to create a query to display the Week periods of a month.
The inputs will be Year and month.
The result should be some thing like this:
If Year = 2009 and Month = June
The SQL Query should return the following:
01-Jun-2009 to 06-Jun-2009
07-Jun-2009 to 13-Jun-2009
14-Jun-2009 to 20-Jun-2009
21-Jun-2009 to 27-Jun-2009
