I 'm getting this exception on a Websphere environment using Toplink to access data base. I'm getting the connection from the database using a data source configured in the application server.
Any help is welcome ...

you mean the WAS configuration for the data source ?
toplink is configured so as to use the WAS datasource, and use external pooling.

It seems that WebSphere connection pool is performing some sort of statement cache, and the cache statement it is trying to use is still in use. -

My requirement is to insert document to Ms SQL 2005 DB, the field type for document is IMAGE. I have configured Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.3.0) for performing the operation.

Similar error getting while running from OC4J container. Also tried providing different values to <connection-url></connection-url> example jdbc:sqlserver://10.183.106.145:1433;databasename=master. Also tried by replacing <connection-url> with <datasource>. Let not able to pass through. Not able to figure-out what is the values for <connection-url> ..

Venkata MadhuTry connecting directly through JDBC, it seems that your JDBC driver is not accepmting your URL.
In TopLink you may also need to use direct connecting (DatabaseLogin.useDirectDriverConnect()).

I'm building a simple test where a BPEL is using a Database Service; it's set up to talk to an XE database (Oracle JDBC) option. The IDE works great but when I try to run the BPEL the following error occurs:

After reading a few threads I'm still confused as to what to do here; it seems that I must copy some jar files in some lib folder - it's not clear to me what jars, from where and to where; the jars must be somewhere as the IDE works; I'd greatly appreciate if someone can answer this.
Then why does everything work fine in the IDE but when I deploy there's problems - shouldn't everything be bundled with the IDE and server; I'm not using some strange 3rd party data store?
Further I'd like to know when using some of the other services is this behavior to be expected - must you manually configure them somewhere and copy jars?

I managed to sort this one by doing the following:
1. Copy the jar files from $JOH\jdbc\lib to $JDEV_USR_DIR\workspace\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\applib.
2. Edit the connection from the DatabaseAdapater tab and ticked both Save and Deploy Password buttons.
After this I restarted the whole lot; it's now talking to the database which is most useful.

Found a thread related to this but there it was explained that the error was occuring when trying to notify regarding output through email. In our case, issue is occuring just during scheduling itslef.
Also I haved checked the following schedular tables in my database.

In the delivery email configuration server page (under BI Publisher Admin Tab), the username / password to enter is the one defined on the email server itself. It is the user that will be user to send the emails when scedhuling a report.
It may not be Administrator/ Administrator (not a user defined with OBI admin tool) but the username/password defined on the email server itself.
Moreover, to properly configure the BI Publisher Scheduler, it is a prerequistes to create bipsched user on Oracle DB and install the schema tables in Oracle DB (by clicking on Install Schema button after defining database connection under Admin / Scheduler Configuration tab)
From the error your are getting 'SEQ_NAME unknown..., it appears that the tables are not created'.

I have 2 identical sql servers one of which is linked to the other via a linked server config which for one particular query gives back the error I give in the subject of this thread:
java.sql.SQLException: Could not get the data of the row from the OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB'
if I run the exact same sql string in query analyser it runs with no problem.
if have similar queries also running from java which use the linked server and these do not give an error. I am at a loss as to explain why this is happening.
the query in question joins together a number of views which reference the linked server.
I have tried everything I can think of including recreating the views and linked server definition.
If all is OK in query analyser, how can it fail when called over jbdc (especially when all other db requests succeed) ?refer below link

I have created ADF projects using the same database (Oracle XE) and they work fine. Its only this composite, which is complaining of "No suitable driver" exception.
I found a post very similar to mine -> Composite is failing
So I went and checked my parameters. Here's what I found:-

Edited by: user8028667 on Dec 11, 2008 11:40 AMI ran the sample that you pointed out and unfortunately got the same error in the log: "java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver" along with a bunch of others as well. You will have to scroll down to see the No suitable driver exception.
But here's the weird part - the output is as expected: VALID and INVALID depending on the Credit card number I supply. Which means the database is reachable.
The only difference is that the example performs a SELECT operation, whereas I am trying to perform an INSERT operation. Also I have a for-each node in the XSL and I am inserting multiple records from an XML to the Database.

Java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01407: cannot update ("WAVESET", "TASK", "XML")
Hi,
We are currently facing the above mentioned error while trying to install Sun IdM 7.1 in WebSphere 6.0. The same ear works fine in all my other environments (all are WebSphere 5). This is what we did
1. Took a copy of the ear thats works.
2. Extract.
3. Modified the serverrepository.xml by using the lh command. Use the newly generated xml file in the extracted folder (WEB-INF), Pack it to a new EAR
4. Configure the datasource that will be used to communicate with the Index repository.
5. Deploy.
Deployment completes successfully. However, when we try to run a task, or import file using IdM admin console, we get this error 'java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01407: cannot update ("WAVESET", "TASK", "XML") to NULL'. we even checked the user permissions on this db schema. they all look good.
We also checked if we are using the right iiop port number in lh command.
We arent sure what could be the issue. I am not able to simulate this issue in other environment, as they all turn out to be successful.

is you ServerRepository.xml configured with a jndi data source (and that's why you use iiop)? If so then try to create a new connection through a direct DB URL like:
lh setRepo -tDBTYPE -uURL -Uusername -Ppassword -n -oServerRepository.xml
and then try to re-run your update command. if it fails again then please post the complete error message.. hope this helps -
Java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence
We are getting 'Fetch out of sequence' error whrn we try to execute a 'for update' query.
We are first inserting values into the DLX_ASSET table and if there is image to be inserted the particualr row is fetched using the query. The insert query inserts values into the database.
'SELECT HIGH_RES_IMAGE FROM DLX_ASSET WHERE ASSET_ID ="+assetId+ " FOR UPDATE'. While executing this query we are getting this exception. This is not happening when we are trying it from our local machine. But its happening everywhere else where its deployed.
We are using Websphere Application Server 6 and Oracle 9i. We have set autommit to false before the method is called and are commiting the transaction only after the whole set of queries are executed.

We tried pointing to the same database from local as well as QA. Works from local but not from QA.
assetId is the generated primary key in the same method.
Yes the exception is thrown from execute statement itself. the logger put just after the execute is not coming.

I use Toplink 2.0-b41-beta2 (03/30/2007) and have a problem with the following JPQL query:
“SELECT DISTINCT OBJECT(e) FROM Entry e WHERE e.location IN (SELECT loc From View v JOIN v.viewLocs vl JOIN vl.location loc where v.code = :code)”
“Entry” is a subclass of “TrainElement”, location points to Entity Location. Entity View has a one-to-many relationship to ViewLoc whereas each ViewLoc has a relationship to a Location object.

There sould be a “t0.ENT_LOC_ID” before the IN in the WHERE clause and the implicit join “ID FROM TRAINELEMENT t0, LOCATION t1” seems incorrect to me. At any rate the database (HSQLDB) rejects that incorrect sql statement.
How can I circumvent that problem?

I am using oracle version 10g. And Jpub 10.2 as the translator. How can i solve this problems? thxLooking at your trace, I assume you're trying to access ROWID or something like that, which is NOT Integer. If it is just ROWID, you should probably get it as string, if it just some NUMBER, you may try to access it as Long or BigDecimal instead. Or, if nothing helps, try to get this field valus as string also.

The scope of this bean (MainSessionBean) is defined as �session in the managed-beans.xml.
So when application starts the init() method of my MainSessionBean class should get called right?

Just a litlle advice: use the SQL Worksheet (Jdev menus: Tools-> SQL Worksheet) in order to test your query, you immediatly know if the error is coming from the sql or from your code (maybe the "?" is not correctly replaced at runtime?)

Here's what I know:
I can connect to the instance using TORA ok.
The SQL query returns rows from TORA.
I believe the connections are ok because if I purposely mess up the syntax, I get back ORA-errors.
I can execute an INSERT statement ok from a servlet.
I'm using the classes12.zip drivers from the oracle jdbc installation directory.
I'm using the default JDK in WSAD 5.1

I'm only guessing, but I don't think that:
DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, password);is how to obtain a "Connection" object when using WSAD ("WebSphere", right?) -- even though I don't use WSAD, myself.
Is the java code you posted part of a POJO (Plain Old Java Object)? Or a servlet? Or an EJB? Or a JSP?
Remember, error messages can sometimes be misleading.
What Oracle database version are you using?
What platform are you using?
