Toshiba C675-S7200 Stuck on Toshiba Splash Screen

When trying to boot the laptop up it freezes as the "Toshiba Inspiring Innovation" spasl screen... I removed the HDD and it will boot up into the BIOS, however when I reconnect the HDD it refuses to boot up past the screen again, nor will it show the BIOS while the HDD is plugged in, any suggestions?

Have you tried plugging another hdd?
Maybe yours is malfunctioning and that's why it freezes at splash screen, remember that BIOS check all devices before starting.

  • Toshiba Satellite stuck at Toshiba splash screen.

My computer has been fine for roughly 5 years. Today, when I plugged in a USB stick, it started hitting me with endless "N:\ cannot be found" type messages. I went down to my taskbar, disengaged the usb stick, unplugged, it and restarted my laptop. It is now stuck at the Toshiba splash screen.
    I have tried:
    - Taking out battery, holding power button, returning battery, and powering up.
    - Entering BIOS (won't work - just beeps and freezes)
    - Entering boot menu (won't work)
    - Booting from Windows CD (just stays at Toshiba screen)
    - Booting from a Live Linux CD (same, just won't...)
I am officially out of ideas and on the verge of just putting the HDD into a case and drawing files from it using a different comp. Any last suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the HDD is not the cause. In fact, it's now being used on another machine and is working perfectly. The computer does this even with other drives in it, and without a HDD at all (when it should at least go past the splash screen and say no drive or OS is found).
I still cannot get into BIOS or the boot menu, and it won't boot from a CD or USB drive. I wanted to try resetting the BIOS by reseating the CMOS battery, but it's soldered down and I don't want to risk trying to drain it with wires (a common resort that risks hurting the mobo).
I think I amy try taking it to some awful repair shop before giving up. Any other thoughts?

  • How can a laptop be started without seeing the Toshiba splash screen?

As the title indicates, when I burned a copy of Windows 7 home premium to an ISO from Techverse, (never had an offical recovery partition on my L875-S7208) I never have seen the Toshiba splash screen, it only bots to the Windows 7 splash screen, which means I cannot enter BIOS...can anyone help track down how I can achieve this?

The BIOS must set in 'Fastboot' mode. Fully shut down your unit, press and hold down the 'F2' key at the top of your keyboard, and then power the unit on, while still holding the 'F2' key down. You should hopefully then be able to enter the BIOS Setup, disable 'Fastboot', press 'F10' to save and exit.
I would strongly recommend you investing in a set of Toshiba Recovery Media for your model. You can order it here.  This will rebuild the HDD recovery partition, reload Windows, and install all the drivers and software your system came with when it was new. Just follow the directions on page 67 of your 'User's Guide'.
Let us know how it works out. Good luck.

  • Portege M200 - Toshiba splash screen comes up and then nothing

    My Portege M200 doesnt boot.
Turn it on and toshiba splash screen comes up and remains like that. Nothing would work (Neither F2 to enter BIOS)
    Any ideas ?

    Hi
    > so to solve my keyboard problem best option is to get a USB keyboard & continue testing the laptop , right ?
I think the F1 button would leads you to the BIOS.
If you are not able to use the internal keyboard, then you should replace the internal keyboard or should use an external one (USB keybaord).
Press F1, check the data and time, save the changes and try to reboot the unit.
PS: possibly the CMOS battery was empty and you should recharge it again. In order to do this, you have to run the notebook for about 24 hours connected to AC adaptor.

  • Tecra M1: boots to Toshiba splash screen - then constant beep!

when 'switching on', the Toshiba splash screen appears, then nothing else happens. Any key pressed after that, just makes a constant beep. I purchased the machine from a dealer, 2nd hand (500) with XP Pro pre loaded, all updated etc, everthing worked fine till switching it on yesterday. This is my first laptop, and first time using this forum, 'be gentle please'

    Hi Alan
I think what Nicky said might not apply to the M1. The trick probably works for Phoenix bios machines, but the M1 has Toshiba BIOS and will only enter the BIOS settings when ESC is pressed at a certain timewindow.
Back to your problem, you say the Toshiba logo is shown then othing else happens.
Most common is that the machine stops (but is still listening to keystrokes) when there is a problem to establish contact with the IDE-devices. The devices have a certain amount of time to respond correctly before the BIOS times out and gives you an error message.
Did you try to leave the machine like this for say 1-2 minutes? Did you look at it the whole time?
If not, please do. It is possible (although not certain) that you have a problem with either the HDD or optical device. Try removing the optical device from the Selectable bay. Any change to the problem? If yes, then there is either a problem with the optical drive or the IDE channel #1 (number 2 in human language). That means motherboardproblems.
So to clear it up and summarize: most probably you have a problem with either the HDD or the CD/DVD or the IDE channels on the motherboard.
The best way to check this is to look at the machine and wait some time and see if there is a timeout error message from the BIOS.
    Good luck

  • Tecra A9 stuck on the splash screen

    Hello,
I'm new to your forum and hope to find help.
I have a Toshiba Tecra A9 stuck on the splash screen after my intervention in the bios to boot from a USB stick.
    _DETAILS:_
At the start, it turns more on the startup screen with the 5 symbol of choice (hard disk, USB, etc.).
Clicking on a symbol and nothing responds I can not enter the bios.
It is displayed at the top of the screen: In Touch With Tomorrow TOSHIBA and five symbols.
I disconnected two small green battery on the motherboard for 10 minutes, but nothing has changed.
That said, I do not know if I disconnected the battery good (y 'have it two?).
It also would it make a metal button battery on the motherboard?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Alain

    Hi
If the notebook cannot pass the Toshiba Splash Screen then this means that the POST (power on self test) cannot be passed properly and this means mostly than an hardware part on the motherboard or the motherboard itself is faulty
Thats worst case since the mobo is very expensive :(

  • Stuck at BIOS splash screen

    I own a lenovo b570e model 20713.
I was trying to install Ubuntu 14.04 on it, and after installation I rebooted.
Now the computer is stuck at boot splash screen, will not let me press f2 or f12. Just hangs there at the splash screen.
    Any suggestions?

Did you perform a clean install of Ubuntu following the instructions on the Ubuntu forums? There are specific steps required to install Ubuntu on a system that uses UEFI instead of legacy BIOS.
You can try removing battery and AC power, then hold down power button for more than 30 seconds to reset the UEFI settings.  Once completed, reattach battery and AC power, then enter UEFI and disable Secure Boot.
    Good luck.

  • Vado doesn't boot up / stuck in the splash screen

My recently bought Creative Vado HD doesn't boot anymore - I press the power button and I only see the red led blink for a second. Before this it used to turn on, but wouldn't get out of the splash screen "VADO HD". (and it wouldnt turn off, only if I took out the battery)
The camera has frozen sometimes before, but then I would take the battery out and put it in again to have it working ok. Now reinsertingthe battery doesnt fix it.
If I connect the vado to the pc, it just shows the splash screen and doesnt boot or even charge the battery (I left it connected ov3ernight but It didnt charge the battery, It just killed it because it stayed all night showing the splash screen. - and thats why , i think, it only shows the red light blink instead of showing the splash screen when i try to turn the camera on.
I dont know if this issue might have triggered the problem but here it is:
minutes before vado died I connected the vado to my vizio tv and watched some videos. Then I pulled the hdmi cable and connected the camera to the pc. I noticed it wasnt detected at all -- the vado was stuck in the splash screen.
i cant install a firmware or anything else because the camera is not detected and is stuck in the splash screen.

    Hi Setmedown,
It sounds like something is wrong with the Vado HD, if you have not already I would suggest contacting our Customer Support.

  • Lenovo g510 stuck in lenovo splash screen

I bought this g510 less then a year ago without an OS.
I've installed win7 first then ubuntu14.04, back when i get it.
Yesterday I deleted my win7 partition and reinstalled a premium sp1 win7 version from a usb formatted as NTFS - as you might have guessed I'm booting the laptop in legaci mode. The installation got stuck and failed and i had to do a hard reset.
After the hard reset the laptop won't boot and in fact it won't even pass the splash screen or respond to fn+f2 or any other shortcut to get into the bios. Even when i shut it off and press the Novo button it starts but doesn't display the blue utility menu with bios and boot options. Ive tried pressing the power button for 30 seconds witn the battery and power cable disconnected and tried to boot from usb but still nothing.
I then took the hard drive out and the laptop would boot and respond to novo button and fn+f2 and i can go into bios. It would also boot from usb when the hdd is disconnected. But it dosen't matter which bios settings i change or if the bootable usb is connected, when i hook the hdd back the laptop will just get stuck on lenovo splash screen again and won't respond to Novo button or fn+12 and it won't boot from usb - i should mention it does respond to capslock or the key to make the screen black (fn+f9).
I have a 1TR samsung sata hdd that seems to be perfectly fine. I don't think its the hdd or any of the hardware and the symptoms are not of defected hdd or anything else i've seen before. It 's also not a uefi problem as i've tried legacy and uefi mode with the same results. Also my usb boot is enabled in the bios just in case you're wondering.
This has ruined my weekend and about to ruine my week. Help lenovo please save me....?!?

    hi markwills,
    Welcome to the Forums.
If using another drive works fine on the G510 then I suspect that the stock HDD is failing or has corrupt partitions.
Can you consider using a 2.5" SATA enclosure to convert the stock HDD into an external drive and try to format the drive and/or run a hardware scan on it using the following:
      - Lenovo Storage Test or
      - HD Tune.
When finished, try to insert it back on the G510 and observe.
If you get errors on the scan or if the above step is not possible, I recommend you contact warranty support on how to go about getting the unit serviced.

  • Stuck on the splash screen

    Hi,
I have looked through many websites in search for the answer to my HP Pavilion Slimline s3624uk desktop problem with no joy.
The problem is that the computer is stuck on the splash screen. I have tried and tested working USB and PS/2 keyboard and mouse, RAM and processor I know that these devices work by testing them on a different PC.  I have removed hard-drive which loads fine again in a different PC. I have tried to reset Bios / CMOS by placing the jumper on pins 2 and 3. I have also removed CMOS battery and all power to motherboard for a period of two hours. I then reconnected all with the same result stuck on the splash screen.
I can’t enter into BIOS. I have tried pressing Esc repeatedly as well as F9, F10 and F11 etc.
    Please help...

  • NB200 freezes at Toshiba splash screen.

    Hi,
I have an NB200-11L that's been sitting around with an annoying problem for a while now.
When I power on the laptop it freezes at the 'Toshiba - leading innovation' BIOS splash screen and goes no further.
I get the same problem with or without AC power
I've tried replacing the HDD but still get the problem.
With no HDD in the system it tries to boot from the network & also allows me access to the BIOS (currently version 1.20)
Anyone else had issues like this & been able to resolve it ?
    Thanks in advance :)
    Chris

Few days ago I saw the same problem on my friends Satellite A205 (US model). After removing HDD I was able to enter BIOS settings.
Ive set BIOS to default settings, replaced the HDD with new one and now everything works perfectly.
HDD was defective and obviously HDD identification by BIOS has blocked the whole system.
I recommend you to obtain new HDD and do the same.

  • Problem Installing my new graphic card 760GTX Stucks on HP Splash Screen

I'm using a h9-1185 Windows 7 and I thought I'd update my graphic card from a 7870 to GTX 760 but that was easier said than done. When I try to boot my computer with the new card it stays at the hp splash screen. The GPU is correctly installed I have both cables connected to the PSU. The fans are running properly It's just that I get stuck on the loading screen when I use the gtx 760. I can't press any keys to go to the boot menu, etc. After sitting at the screen for 5 minutes it changes to a black sreen showing at the corner the brand of my Graphic Card (760 PNY etc....) but nothing happens.
When I changed it back to the old graphic card Sapphire 7870, it didn't freeze or anything. It worked fine. I was trying to update my BIOS but I think i have the latest update (v7.09).
Maybe my english isn't good at all, sorry about that.

    John, welcome to the forum.
Did you install the latest driver for the new video card?  This must be done for it to work properly.
Also, when you have the new card and driver installed, I suggest clearing the CMOS:
This motherboard has a jumper to clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS.
Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
Move the jumper to clear for 5 to 10 secs, then move the jumper back to default.
Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
On the next startup, enter BIOS setup to re-enter user settings.

  • Hp Pavilion P6724IT Stuck at HP Splash screen after install of new VGA

    Hello people.
I buyed a new VGA, a Gigabyte GT740 2GB DDR5, before that i had an Asus GT630 2GB DDR3 and had no problems with it.
After mounting the new VGA i noticed the computer remains stuck at the initial splash screen with the HP logo.
Can't even get in to the bios, but if i remove the card and use it's igpu it's all ok.
I tried to update the bios to the latest version on the HP site (v.7.15) and nothing.
Tried to install with Windows 8.1, and with windows 7, nothing.
I tried all things i found on the net of people with the same issue, nothing again.
If i am fast enough and i press some keys it gets black screen and remains stuck anyway, do some beeps and then go in some kind of standby and if i keep pressed any key it does some cracklin noise.
Actually i can't afford a new motherboard so i wanted to find out with your help if i can find a solution to the problem, cause it's really frustrating and i spent many time trying to figure it out.
    Sorry for my bad english!

  • GS60-2QE (970M) Stuck at MSI Splash Screen

    Evening all,
Just went to use my laptop and I'm stuck at the MSI splash screen. I can't get to the BIOS or anything.
I haven't ever dropped it and it's always handled with care. Last night it was last used and has been working totally fine up until now.
Any ideas? I've only had it a month so don't want to open it up.
    Cheers
    Will

There's a reset hole at the right side of the body. Find a paperclip to poke it and power on again to see if it resets your laptop. If it's still stuck on BIOS logo, I am afraid you'll need to send it to MSI service centers.
