TouchSmart 9300 specs - DVI-D output for second display?

I'm trying to verify the 9300 has a DVI-D output for a second external display before committing to waiting for it's release?  It appears the 9100 does, so hopefully that carries over?  The other option is to use a USB-to-DVI adapter with the 610, but as I require 2560x1600 resolution I don't think that's going to be possible either.

When you set up the second monitor system preferences will pop up in the second monitor and you can try several different settings.
I connected my Samsung SyncMaster 192N to the mini dvi port and it works fine but it doesn't seem as bright as when I had it connected to my Windows PC. I use it to run Windows XP in VMWare Fusion. That way I can run it full screen but still have a full screen for OSX.

  • Imac for second display?

Question: Can I use my imac G5 as a second display for my imac coreduo? Or perhaps could I use my ibook as a second display for my imac???

Yes , you can. Just try ScreenRecycler from http://www.screenrecycler.com/
You can even use a Windows PC or a Linux box as second display.

Someone suggested I look in SE80, Internet Service, WEBRFC. I do not see this in SE80?
               Thank-You.

    Hello Tom,
actually, it is hard to tell without further information. I suggest to have a look at the HTML document's source code (in the browser use the [Ctrl] + Right Click on the dynpro area; in the browser context menu select View Source ...). At the top of the source code you will find some information about the ITS used and also about the template used to generate this HTML document. This should be the template you want to have a look at. In case of subscreens used in the dynpro there might be some more comments like this in the document's source.
In some cases SAP icons will be used for buttons. In that case an appropriate GIF will be requested and shown automatically (those @n@ icons).

  • Extending DVI cable length for 30" display

With my new home office setup the computer will sit 25ft from the 30" Cinema display, so what are my options connecting this beast?
    +
DVI Coupler (Female to Female) and DVI Male Digital/DVI Male Digital Dual Link (24AWG) Cable - 25FT
Would that work? Or maybe switch to an HDMI solution with DVI to HDMI adapters?
    Thanks!

A 10 ft. dual-link DVI extension should work, depending on the quality of the cable. Try to find a M-F cable, so you won't need a gender changer. You want to have the minimum number of connections.

FCE is a resolution specific application. The formats are fixed at standard DV and standard HD frame sizes. You need FCP for this. Or you change the frame size on export and compress for the web. I assume it's for the web as no video standard uses that shape.

    Hi,
This is Marcus from Application Engineering at National Instruments.  I have reviewed over your math and you are correct in your calculations.  To determine the power output of your PXI-5422 you will have to know the Vpp which you are using and also the load that you will be connecting to the device.  These factors will then determine the power output of your PXI-5422.

  • Can I use a Sony all-in-one PC/TV as a second display for the G5?

I'm trying to build a pro music system out of my G5, which means that it should only have music software on it. I have an aluminum 20" display hooked up to my Radeon x800T video card, which has one DVI and one ADC jack on it. A pro music rig needs two 20" displays, at least, to display all the mixers, processors, instruments, etc. I have to use a PC for my financial stuff and need a new one. The new Sony Vaio VGC-VA 11G is their version of the i-Mac G5, it's all-in-one plus it is a 20" LCD TV with S-video and composite video in, not VGA in. If I get an ADC-to-VGA adaptor and hook that up to a VGA-to-S/video & composite adapter (all on ebay!), can I plug the output of the G5 to one of the video ins on the Sony Vaio and then use the Sony Vaio's TV as the second display (not simply mirroring the Apple display)? I guess it would be the same as using an LCD TV as a second, non-mirroring display. If it works, it's going to be cool!

  • DVI scan converter for under $1000?

I've just gotten some e-mails which indicate DVI scan converters are downright expensive. Considering many DVI HD-TVs are now well under $1000, you'd think that you could get a scan converter for less. Sure there is DisplayConfigX and SwitchResX, but they are complicated to setup, and it appears not all HD-TVs respond well to them. So here's the question, anyone know of a simple DVI based scan converter that will reduce the picture so that all four sides of the screen which are overscanned on my set actually appear on my HD-TV? I don't want to have to step down to VGA just to do scan conversion. Right now the VGA scan converters are only $200 to $300 depending on where you look. Why some companies charge as much as $12,000 for DVI versions is beyond me!

there are scan converters that do the simple job of converting a signal from 1 format to another then there are converters (scalers) that are designed to take NTSC (or PAL, SECAM, etc...) material and upconvert it to a higher resolution. back in the day when we used to deal with $50,000 9" gun CRT front projection systems, they often used $30,000 boxes that did the scan conversion. with CRT based systems on a large projection screen, you can actually see the black gap between the scan lines of the electron beams. the original reason to upscale NTSC video to different formats (differente VGA resolutions, really) was to increase brightness, not increase detail... for the higher the resolution, the smaller the black lines in between the scan lines on the screen. the reason that this is not so easy to accomplish is because film, which was originally shot in 24 frames per second, is being asked to play back on a device that is 60, 80, or higher frames per second (the vertical refresh rate). when dealing with film, you are of course dealing with people who are very critical with all technical processes being applied (rightfully so) and the same with the viewers. when done incorrectly or without proper processing, this scan rate conversion is visible by "rips" or jittery motion artifacts during playback.
because more and more of today's modern sources are digital (DVI and HDMI) and the display devices are also digital (LCD, DLP, and plasma) scan converters and scalers are somewhat obsolete. it is still downright confusing, though. 1080i from an HD-DVD is played back at 1080p. 1080p from a Blue Ray player is played back at 1080p. HDMI, while supposed to make life simpler, actually has a whole list of incompatible sources and display devices with more HDMI #.# versions to come.
i retract my statement, scan converters are no longer obsolete, they are just packaged with the display devices and sources so there is no market for them. a 480p DVD player with DVI out does not really give you a 480p output direct from the 480p MPEG stream. the video DSP takes the MPEG, internally outputs 480i, then the built in converter processes it back at 480p. seeing how these DVD players are very cheap, there no longer is a market for affordable scalers. you now have the all or nothing scenario where the only vendors alive rely on high end clients that want to pay for the best and not settle with what is bundled.
anyways, some of the companies still in the business...
Faroudja (recently bought by Meridian UK)
    DVDO
    Silicon Image
Focus Enhancements (exiting / exited the market?)
    Snell and Wilcox

i'm sure that i'm missing a bunch, but these are the ones that i recall off the top of my head

  • Using second display via eMac's mini-DVI to VGA adaptor

    Hi,
I've got a 19inch widescreen display from Acer, model no. AL1916W. I have apple's mini-DVI to VGA adaptor and have connected the second display to the point where it mirrors the screen on my eMac, however I don't want it to do this.
What I had intended is that the second display would act as an extension of my eMacs screen, so I can drag windows across for extra space. Is this possible with the eMac?
Put more specifically, I want to be able to put logic's main (arrange) window on the Acer widescreen, and then have whatever else on the eMacs screen? Is there a workaround to do this?
    help much appreciated,
    Toby

    Hi,
It's funny you should send me that link, I actually found that a couple of hours after posting this and tried it. It worked perfectly, I now have the widescreen running in it's native resolution and working as a separate screen which I can drag stuff in and out of. I came back on here to mark the question as 'answered' but I couldn't find how.
    thanks for your help,

how do i set up a second display for my iMac desktop?  I want to use both displays at the same time.  My iMac is the 24" Late 2006 model.  I recall that there is a cord for plugging in a second monitor, but I want to make sure that i can use both monitors side-by-side at the same time.  thank you.

  • Driver for a second display

I have an AOC brand monitor and the proper DVI connections to add it as a second display, however it doesn't work as plug and play and the AOC website only has windows drivers and says to contact Apple tech support for an appropriate plug and play driver. Where can I find a driver for this?

You should not need any drivers, unless it is some specialized monitor that does more than a normal DVI display (such as touch screen or 3D).
What is the native resolution? An iMac can go up to 1920x1200 pixels for an external display that is DVI (which is a typical 23" or 24" widescreen display). Larger displays (higher resolution) will not work.
