Isn't it wierd how intractable problems seem to solve themselves when you finally give up and ask for help...
I just noticed that the css for the table '#maintable' was set to 'display: block;'
I removed that specification and the table started to behave appropriately.
I posted this message anyway in case someone else runs into the problem.
The problem page validated with DW CS4 (code), BBedit (syntax), W3C (code, css, links)
The row was set to bgcolor="#333300" but the background only covered part of the row.
It acted as though there was a smaller table within a larger table, but there was only one table!
The table was set to

<table> is already a block tag, so the style should make no difference at all.
The row was set to bgcolor="#333300" but the background only covered part of the row.

The 10px padding is applied to the <table> tag. But a <table> doesn't have padding, although Firefox seems to think it does. Only the cells within the table have padding or spacing. I suggest you find another way to do this. By the way, you need to give your 'tooltip' layers a background color. And you don't need the overflow style on them.

COLOR doesn´t recognize the editing in FCP

I have a really big problem.
I have only one track in the timeline , when I export to Color and make the play. ! Surprise! , the editing is not the same .
I had trying to export the EDL o XML and put me " Media files of one or more clips are missing timecode tracks and may also be missing reel names "
Could be possible that the Color doesn´t recognize the editing by this way ???

JTabbedPane background color doesn't work in Win XP - SP 1 with JRE 1.4.2

Setting background color for JTabbedPane doesn't
work in "Windows XP with SP 1" when using JRE 1.4.2.
For example, following call doesn't set the
tab to green:
tabbedPane.setBackgroundAt(0, Color.green);
It always displays TABS with the white background.
Is anybody aware of this problem?

UITableView: set different background colors for header and the table

I would like to set my background color for my UITableView to white and set my tableViewHeader backgroundColor to grayColor similar to the facebook app. When I bounce scroll my table so that you can see above the header, then currently it is white above the header view. I want that to be brown instead.
In the facebook app, above the headerview, it is a blue color and below the table is a white color. If i try and set the UITableView backgroundColor to brown, then the top will be brown, but so will the bottom. Additionally, all of the unset cells will have a brown background instead of white.
Any help with this?

CSS -- background color doesn't show with scroll bar

I have a nav bar with a background-color that shows up fine if the image opens to the right size. If, however, the window opens small and I have to use the scroll bar to move things over, the color for the nav bar isn't there.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Why does the eyedropper tool set the background color swatch instead of the foreground?

Whenever I try to use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop CS5, the eyedroper sets the background color instead of the foreground. I know you can swap the colors with the arrows, but Photoshop used to be able to just put the color in the foreground swatch without me doing any extra manual work. How do I restore it?

Click on Windows and color. There is a setting there to change from
foreground to background. The one with the box around it is the default setting.

Dreamweaver CSS div background color doesn't match .png menu button color on PC

Hello,
I created a menu with buttons the same background color (CSS) as the background color on my CSS template. However, for some reason, the colors don't look the same on mac and a pc. The background on the menu buttons that I created (.png) match the css template div background on a mac. But, when the site displays on a pc, the menu background color from the css template is darker than the .png background color, even though the color code is the exact same. On a mac, the .png background color matches the css div template color exactly. Anyone know what is going on or how to fix?
I appreciate any assistance!

My iPAD 1 just changed its background color to red. The unit is 3 years old. Is something breaking? Time for a new iPAD?

I am wondering if my iPAD (1st generation) has a major problem since the background color recently went to red?
The unit still works, but the appearance makes me think something is wrong and can only be fixed by buying a new iPAD.
Has anyone had this strange color change and how did you handle it?

Unfortunately, the red color persists and even beyond that there are some odd colors while the unit is in use.

The Color doesn´t recognize the clips´time when I send from FCP to COLOR

I have a big problem. When I send from FCP to Color does not recognize the mounting clips. In each plane is everything and not the s 2 or 4 seconds it had in the assembly of the FCP.
I have worked with Color more times and have not had that problem.
Anyone can help me?. Can it be the codecs, the times of the FCP, the settings of COLOR?

What is a "subpaper clip"?
By the way, all this nonsense about COLOR only supporting one layer of video... where is this coming from? This is utterly untrue... I am thinking of Stevie Wonder's song that states that when people believe in things they don't understand, that's superstition.
Rather than try to explain all the things that COLOR cannot do, maybe it would be easier to lay out the basic concept of what should be sent.
Very fundamentally, COLOR is a sequential-file (.dpx) color correction or grading application that has been modified to work with a few Quicktime codecs, and can accept a single sequence of independent media (discrete clips) from Final Cut. That sequence can have many layers, but it cannot have any nested sequences, and there still are a number of editing strategies within Final Cut that can be proxied, albeit inexactly, but occasionally not at all.
The safest sequence to send to COLOR from Final Cut consists of independent Quicktime Clips, all of the same resolution, codec, and frame rate, which should match the sequence settings of the Final Cut project. There is a naive assumption that anything that can be done in Final Cut can be replicated in COLOR and returned intact. This is absolutely untrue, and the evidence of that is everywhere in this, and other forums.
In this particular instance, "zotero"'s problem, while lamentable, is of his own creation by ignoring or proceeding without any preparation or investigation, and assuming that every editor's concept of what passes for the creative process has been anticipated and compensated for by the application developers.
To mark them manually now when already I have the definitive assembly is a labor of many hours.
Unfortunately, that may be your fate. Alternatively, you may consider the use of a "Media Manage" operation which will re-organize the independency of the source media. The Media Manager is covered extensively in the Final Cut manual. I'd advise doing a lot of back-ups before proceeding with anything else at this point, because it really looks like there is going to be a lot of trial-and-error in the near future... mostly error. I have a picture that I like but in ios 7 it keeps cutting the picture I don't like this new feature I want it the whole picture again

There's a glitch with the wallpaper scaling. It seems to have an issue with any black space and zooms the pic in to fill the whole screen, so your pic can be cut off by quite a bit.
If you go in through the photos app and send the images to be wallpaper from there you do have a bit more control over the scaling.

Indesign problem : background color don't appears in the pdf...

How did you implement this "background color"?
If, as I suspect, you changed the [Paper] swatch, then you aren't seeing a malfunction. That swatch is non-printing, and will not show up anywhere but in the InDesign editing environment. To add a color in the background, you must actually fill an object with the color and position it behind the rest of the elements in your layout.

I cannot see the background color and borders when exporting

I created a 10 page document with a background color and borders around the images (I am usiong InDesign 5.5), when I export it to PDF I only see white pages with my images, what am I doing wrong?

I suspected as much. [Paper] is the absence of ink -- it means don't put anything here and let the paper stock show through and in the PDF it is essentially transparent ( the PDF only shows a white background to keep you from seeing the insides of the monitor -- well not really, but Acrobat doesn't dispaly transparency with grid the way Photshop does). The ability to edit the swatch is a convenience to make it easier for you to visualize what your design will look like on colored stock.
If you want a colored background you either need to print on colored stock, or you need to print the color in the background by creating a frame and filling it with the color of your choice. I doubt you will be printing on a dark brown, especially since there are areas of white in your design, and the only way you get white is by leaving the paper blank iin those areas, or using an opaque white ink, which is bothexpensive and not very practical in photos, especially over a dark color.

An applescript to change the background color for all finder windows

I'll start off by telling you what I am trying to achieve, then show you what I've tried.
I have a macbook with several HDD's attached. what I want is for each of those hdd to have a specific finder window background color. so no matter where I am in that hdd the background color will always be the same. so for instance if I set the background color of hdd 2 to blue then as long as I see a blue background I know that I'm within hdd 2.
I've tried setting up an applescript to do this but can only get it to change the open finder window, and none of the subfolders have their backgrounds changed.
here is what I have so far:

it seems that the various options can only be set while the window is open and in icon view.
Rather than manually opening the window of every single folder on the hard drive, it should be possible to write a script to open every folder in sequence, make sure it is in icon view, change its background, then close its window. I have never been any good at the "actions within actions" procedure needed for folders within folders, so maybe someone else with the necessary knowledge and experience might be able to assist in this regard. Such a script would probably take a few minutes to complete while it ran through "every folder of every folder", but it sure would be quicker to have the process automated than to do it by hand - computers are really good at repetitive tasks (as long as the instructions are accurate, of course!).
On the other hand, you might like to try the following:
open a few windows in icon view, choose Show View Options in the View menu (I'm in System 10.4), click the radio button All Windows, click the Color radio button under Background, then choose your color. It might achieve what you are trying to do.
