I have a skype-in number and would like to transfer that number to my mobile phone service provider and get a new skype-in number. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer a skype-in number to a mobile service provider (Like Verizon or AT&T or in my case Simple Mobile)?Thanks!

My post from July 2013 still stands: you would need to contact the carrier to which you would like to transfer your Skype Number. They initiate and coordinate the transfer or porting process. I am not aware of any service fees for doing this; ask the carrier. Skype does not charge any fees for porting, or transferring, a number out.

Transfer expired skype online number

Hi , my skype online number will expires at the end of this month and I want to transfer/assign the number into another skype account.
From what I understood here, its not possible to transfer online number from one account to another and I will have to wait until it expires then I can buy it again using my other skype account.
My question is : Should I wait until the online number subscription expires then buy it again through my other Skype account or is there away around this situation ?
And how can I buy it again using my other Skype account without waiting for 90 days after the number expire/deactivate which is the period of time needed for the number to go back again to the available Skype online numbers pool .

you cannot transfer a Skype Number from one account to another . . . period
when the number expires it is held for you for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate it -- if an when you reactivate it during this period it will still be associated with the original Skype Name
if the 90 days expires before you reactivate the number, then the number will be made available to ANYONE that happens to choose it (and that almost certainly WON'T be you)

Can I transfer AppleCare from one number to another number within same family?

I have 5 phones under me.
I purchased the Iphone 5 under my number with the AppleCare. Unfortunately a few months later I wanted another phone. I switched the Iphone 5's phone number to another family member.
Did I lose the AppleCare at that point?
Now this family member with the Iphone 5 wants another phone, and we want to give the Iphone 5 to another family member.
Question: Is there a possibility I still have the AppleCare (I did not call Apple at the time) and can cancel the AppleCare and get it prorated since I made one transfer which the Terms state one can do? Like most people, I didn't read the Terms. =(

The AppleCare stays with the hardware, not the phone number.

Firstly, you must have your BB unlocked from the original carrier:

After that, your new carrier should be able to get it going for basic voice-level services. For advanced BB-level services, they will need to work harder in order for your BB to receive the required Service Books. Hopefully they know how to do that.

in any case your account number is on your Verizon Monthly invoice or from the My Verizon web portal http://www.verizonwireless.com just log in and go to view my bill and the account number is there. Your pin is normally the last four digits of your social security number. However some people have placed tighter security on their account via a secondary pass code word or a different number all together.

Does anyone know if you port a BBA mobile number to another mobile provider?
I'm having a nightmare with my S710 turning off when it wants to and dumping freshly downloaded emails. Especially when I turn on the WiFi.
I have spoken to the Sales side and I can get another phone if I am willing to pay for it, either extra or in one lump.
The trouble is that if I want the phone free then at £30 a month on top of my Braodband Anywhere allowance the Hero is plonked straight in line with the iPhone if I upgrade my package. Or the Touch at slightly less.
I was informed by the sales staff that if I wanted to leave then this was my choice as my BBA contract is now ended.
If I stay with BT - Whats the best phone for emails and a little bit of web browsing? Touch or hero?
Is the iPhone better than the hero?

In my opinion, the iPhone is better than the HTC Hero. If you're choosing between the 2 BT phones though, make sure you get the Hero. It is honestly much, much better than the Touch 2.
Edit: The current iPhone (iPhone 4) has had some problems with signal strength when you hold it a certain way (in the bottom left hand corner). Bear that in mind when making a decision. However, Apple are giving a free iPhone protector away to compensate for this design flaw.

I am not trying to forward calls to my cell phone but rather set up a VOIP line that is linked to my verizon wireless account and I would like to keep the number I am using with skype. It seems that a lot of folks are doing the opposite and maybe I am missing something but I need to set up a phone in the home office and skype isn't cutting it for my so my least expensive option is piggybacking on my cell phone. Any help will be greatly apperciated.

Hi, awr, and welcome to the Community,
You may "port" your Skype Number to another carrier if said carrier permits; what is typically confusing is that numbers may not be "ported in" to Skype.
It all depends upon if the carrier to whom you wish to transfer your Skype Number will accept the number and do the paperwork.

I've done this before. First, I had the current acct owner call in and say it's okay for me to assume liability on the line. Next, I called in and explained that the owner already called and gave permission for me to assume the line. Notes were on the account. I was transferred to the assumption of liability dept, I accepted the terms and conditions and we were good to go. The old owner will get a final bill up until the point of transfer and you will get a new bill starting at the point of transfer.
