Transition using a boolean

Hi
In my process flow, I have a transformation which outputs parameter B_1, which is a BOOLEAN value.
I need to create 2 transitions from this transformation based upon whether B_1 is true or false.
In the Transition Condition Editor I select 'Complex Condition', but I can't find how to express "B_1 = FALSE".
It keeps coming up with with an error on validation.
Does anyone have an idea how this is done?

Simply, ignore validation error and test workflow in action. I think that this stuff must work well. Not always validation responds correct.

  • How to Use a Boolean Vector To Index an Array

    Say I have an array A = [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10].
    I also have a boolean array B = [1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1].
    I want to use the boolean array B to pick out elements in A, creating a new array C = [1 2 10]. In MATLAB, I would just type C = A(B).
    I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how to do this. One solution would be to run through a for loop, querying B(i), and deleting A(i) if B(i) = 1. But this would change the size of A, so that the second time I did this, my index would be wrong.
    Anyone know a clean way of doing this?
    BONUS: If I have a 2D AA, with multiple columns, it would be nice to use B to pick out multiple columns of AA (in MATLAB, this would be CC = AA(:,B).

    I have a workflow with a single boolean input parameter:
    <element name="input" type="boolean"/>
    I wish to use a switch statement within the workflow, based on the value of that boolean parameter.
    When I use the following XPath expression:
    bpws:getVariableData("input","payload","/tns:BooleanRequest/tns:input")
    I get the correct functionality, although I get the following BPEL compiler warning:
    " [bpelc] [Warning ORABPEL-10078]: return value of this expression may not be a boolean

    However, the boolean functions referenced do not appear to be relevant to a variable which is already of a boolean type. If I attempt to use the boolean() function in my XPath expression, I get rid of the compiler error, but the workflow now does not work as required.
    How can I get rid of the compiler warning and still get the required functionality, and/or am I doing the wrong thing?
    I am currently running on JBoss, with BPEL release 2.1.2 [build #1226].

    Thanks for that - I guess we have to accept the vagaries of XPath and the absence of type-checking for variables.
    I hadn't fully understood until I started investigating that I can assign ANY string to variable of type xsd:boolean, which has been the cause of some of the confusion for me - whether that value is then considered true or false depends on how you write your test condition.
    I tried with your condition, and it didn't seem to work (evaluated to true if the variable data was the string "true()", but otherwise it seemed to always evaluate to false.
    I also tried the following:
    condition="bpws:getVariableData('booleanVariable')=true()"
    but that evaluates to true for any string of length > 0.
    The only one I can get to consistently work is:
    condition="bpws:getVariableData('booleanVariable')=string(true())"
    although that means that variable data of "TRUE" will evaluate to false (may well be the correct behaviour, depending on how you're setting the boolean variable in the first place).

    I am sorry, but this is just wrong. The default option is "using available media", as it should, no matter how you apply the transition. Like James said, you only get the "overlap" option if there is no available media to work with.
    By the way, this has been this way for quite some time already (I think since 10.0.1, but I can't be sure).

    when I tested it, everything worked !
    But, recently, I had to modify one of my process flow. This process flow is in PPK_SCH package (and it named PRC_SCH_FULL)
    I had to change a transition using an enumerated condition (SUCCESS, ERROR) by a transition using a complex condition.
    My condition is very simple, I test one of my variable ("PRC_SCH_FULL"."VAR_END" =1)
    When I deploy my new process flow by the control center in OWB it works.
    But, when I deploy it by my script I have an error message :
    *OMB05602 : An unknown Deployment error has occured for Object Type DeploymentContextImpl.generate WBGeneratedObject[] is null or length 0 for PPK_SCH.*
    I'm sure the problem is in transition because when I put an enumerted condition back, it works again.
    So, How can I do to deploy my process flow package that contains a process flow with complex condition in a transition?

    If I get what you said, then you have 2 enumerated and one complex condition?
    Rules for Valid Transitions
    For a transition to be valid, it must conform to the following rules:
    All activities, apart from START and END, must have at least one incoming transition.
    Only the AND and OR activities can have more than one incoming transition.
    Only a FORK activity can have more than one unconditional outgoing transition.
    A FORK activity can have only unconditional outgoing transitions.
    An activity that has an enumerated set of outcomes must have either an outgoing transition for each possible outcome or an unconditional outgoing transition.
    An activity can have zero or more outgoing complex expression transitions.
    An activity, with an outgoing complex expression transition, must have an unconditional outgoing transition.
    An END_LOOP transition must have only one unconditional transition to its associated FOR_LOOP or WHILE_LOOP activity.
    The transition taken by the exit outcome of a FOR_LOOP or WHILE_LOOP must not connect to an activity that could be carried on as a result of the "loop."

    Syncing and backing up in iTunes can be accomplished with multiple devices. They identify the devices based on the phone number, phone name, etc. The only way you would have an issue is if you were using different calendar contacts on the computer. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495

    Controls and indicators function as variables. In a text based language, you could just write the name of the variable again. In LV, since each control only has one terminal, you need local variables to do this. To create a local variable, right click on the control and from the popup menu select Create>>Local Variable. You can have a local as read or write. Create a local for each of the buttons and wire the data coming out of the first button into the locals.
    There is something that is very important to understand here - when you use locals, you can disrupt the dataflow nature of LV and create race conditions. For example - if, after fixing your code, you were to click on one of the buttons, to set it to F, it would immediately be set back to T by the running code. This can be very dangerous. Also, I see you're using the continuous run mode. You should use a loop instead. Try looking for some LV by searching google for "Labview tutorials. Also, here's one you can start with.

  • A transition using an image (slide an image across the screen)

    Hi everyone,
    Hopefully a good question I am about to ask.  I have 2 clips, and wish to use an image as the transition between those 2 clips.  I've seen this sometimes
    on TV, where you'll see a clip playing, then a graphic is used - like a side swipe for example, coming in from the left, a graphic slides in from the left, passes
    through the middle of the screen, and exits on the right, as it exits, the 2nd clip is now playing.
    Does anyone know how to accomplish this ?  I thought perhaps there would be a canned video transition available, but none of them allow me to
    add an image to any of those effects ( for example in "slide" category under "Slide" in the video transition effect panel.

    When you unpin it, you can go past the beginning and the end of the clip in the Effect Controls Panel.
    As for getting them to run at the same speed, consider this...
    You have to wait to start the wipe until the graphic is in the frame and you have to end the wipe before the graphic leaves the frame.
    So, figure out the exact middle, and work both forwards and backwards from there. To find the middle of the wipe should be easy, it is generally right at the cut. And finding the middle of the graphic should be easy because it usuaaly starts there.  So force a keyframe at that point by clicking on the diamond.
    As I write this I realize you need to know where the center of the graphic is so that you can start the wipe when exactly half of the graphic is on screen and end it when exactly half is off screen. So start with the middle, then go to the beginning of the wipe and make sure that the graphic is half on and half off on the left. Then go to the end of the wipe and make sure the graphic is at that halfway point on the right.
    The math shoulf force this to work.

    The boolean type don't exist in ABAP.
    In ABAP we used to refer to the type-pool ABAP where exists a type ABAP_BOOL (character length 1) where X = true and space = false. To refer to these values there are two constants: ABAP_TRUE and ABAP_FALSE.
    To access the type-pool use the transaction SE11 select Type Group and enter ABAP.

    I'd take your two clips and set them up with a simple dissolve transition between the two using opacity with the blend mode set to alpha add. Next drop the comp with the dissolve transition into a new comp or select both layers and pre-compose. Now apply Effect>Stylize>Motion Tile and animate the tile center to complete the transition.
    EZ as pie.
    Strike that, easier than pie.

  • Use of boolean returning functions in a project

    in my project, we have a fairly important packaged functions that return boolean values. Working with these ones in pl/sql is very fine. But sometimes we need to reuse these functions in SQL, but no luck because bools are usable under pl/sql only and can't interact in any way in SQL statements. So the workaround should be to use these functions to return us some Y/N or 1/0 to emulate boolean behavior in SQL statements.
    Here what i tested with not luck:

    What is the goal to have bool only in pl/sql and not usable in SQL? It's kind of a feature incompatibility in the same product. Strange...

    You simply define two PL functions (not usable from SQL) that deals with the conversion. You use the one function to change boolean to char before hitting the SQL engine, and the other to convert char to boolean when getting data from the SQL engine.

  • Can't change preference to apply transitions using available media

    I'm trying to change the preference in FCP X 10.3 to have FC use available media for transitions.  According to my official Apple training materials this should be done in the preferences in the Editing tab.  That preference setting is simply not there (see attached screen shot).  Has it been moved to another location or has the method been changed in this rev of FCP?

    That's been removed. Unfortunately the Apple book came out early, based on 10.0 and has much that is wrong. It is now always set to use available media. If you get an error message when you try to do the transition, it means there is not available media.
