Transport User Groups in Portal

Hi
In Development Portal i assigned Portal roles to user groups
How can i transport the assignment.....i mean user groups
Thanks

Go to User Administration - Identity Management in your portal.
In the search criteria, select Group and then select the data source where you created your custom groups.
If you use a * and search, you can find all the groups.
You can then select one or multiple groups and click on the "Export" button.
In the following screen, you can see that the group information and the user to group assignment will be populated as a text file inside a text window.
Select all the text (Right click and Select All) in that export window and paste it into a notepad and save it.
Now, in your target portal system, go to User Administration - Import
Browse and select the notepad which you have saved above and click on the Upload button.
You can do a similar export function on Users, Roles along with Groups.
Thanks,
Shanti

  • Transport user groups/infosets/queries from test system to productive

    Hello experts,
i'm trying to transport user groups/infosets/queries but it seems it doesn't work.  For example, i select the infoset, then the transport button.
    I choose EXPORT
    then Transport Infosets
    I type the infoset name
but i cannot understand if i should change the "IMPORT OPTION-REPLACE".
Can anyone guide me with this procedure?
    Thank you in Advance
    N.

    Hi Nantia,
Step 1. Run RSAQR3TR in 'old' system. Select EXPORT and specify the objects to be transported.
(System includes these in an automatically created transport request)
Step 2. Release this transport and request it be transported to 'new' system.
(This results in the entries being populated in transport table AQTDB in 'new' system).
Step 3. Run RSAQR3TR in 'new' system. Select IMPORT and tick the Overwrite checkbox. Specify the transport number in the field labelled 'dataset with imports'.
(RSAQR3TR gives the message that stuff has been imported OK).
Step 4. In my example I still couldn't find the queries, so ran RSAQR3TR one more time, this time specifying 'Copy Standard Area -> Global Area'.

  • How to create  user groups in portal

    Hi
I am new to portal..can any one explain how to create a group and add the users to that group.
    Thanks
    Rahul

    Hi
Go to  "user administration"-> Identitiy management place "Groups" in the Search Criteria then you will see the options for creating NEw Group
at the time of Group creation there is a tab for Assigned users from there you can add users.
Or you select the user name and click on modify and select Assigned groups and assign your group.

  • Subcribe a Portal User Group to content change events on page?

Another developer at my shop has created a custom routine that programmatically subscribes the given user to content change events on a page. At the heart of their custom routine are the following Oracle Portal API calls:
    portal.wwctx_api_private.set_context( v_user );
    portal.wwsbr_app_approval.subscribe
    p_object_context_id => v_siteid,
    p_page_id => v_pageid
...where v_user is the account we want to subscribe for notification of content changes on the given page.
I have a need to extend this to allow subscriptions of Portal User Groups (PUGs) for the same content change events. It is not acceptable to statically subscribe the PUG membership, because I do not want a situation where today I subscribe all the members of group X, then tomorrow the membership of group X changes, but the list of subscribed users does not change automatically with the group membership modification. I could just as well manually subscribe each group member without going through the hassle of coding a modified subscription UI and backend routine to handle groups.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    shastew

My shop is currently on 10g R1 (9.0.4.3). We will be upgrading to 10g R2 (10.1.2) in a few months, but this is not the 10.1.4 version your document link points to. Is CMEF included actually usable in 10.1.2?
Also, publish and subscribe solves a particular set of design issues and allows for a certain degree of flexibility of usage, however, I don't see any built-in support for the User Groups that Portal provides for assigning basic page permissions. It's the group support that I'm interested in...and I don't want to have to create duplications of groups outside of what I already have. I don't want to have to write an entire application infrastructure to support outside group membership maintenance just for supporting subscription notifications. This should have already been built-in to interface with the existing Portal page permissions group framework. At our shop, a lot of effort has already been put into setting up and maintaining these built-in groups and we should be able to re-use them for something as brain dead simple as subscription notification.
I've already given up and opened an enhancement request "TAR" for this.

  • User Group Transport

Good Morning All - Is there any way to transport user groups from on system to other..Ex: DEV to TST and TST to PRD.
I dont see any option to transport these from one system to other, please correct me if I am wrong...as per my understanding..."user groups are client dependent and have to create in each client manually".
Thank you all...look forward your suggestion!

Provided you're using CUA, you can also resolve this problem by adding an entry in table PRGN_CUST as follows:
ID = CUA_USERGROUPS_CHECK, Path = "C". Then, transport the modified contents of PRGN_CUST to all your systems.
The result is that whenever a user is transported (via CUA) to a system where his/her user group is not previously created, the group will be automatically inserted into table USGRP.
Note that the corresponding text entry (USGRPT) will NOT be created, only the user group itself. However, this solution removes the cause of the annoying error messages in SCUL due to "user group not found"...
The above solution is probably the quickest and time-saving resolution in large environments, ie. CUA landscapes with 20+ systems and with large numbers of user groups. For small-scale CUA environments (up to 10 or so systems), you may consider transporting table contents as described above, at least initially.
Nonetheless, if your user groups continue to grow at a rapid pace, you may find yourself creating lots of transports, in which case the above parameter in PRGN_CUST may help.

  • How to create a New user group for AD-HOC

when i select a work area for ad-hoc i dont find any exisitng user groups...
i get a blank screen with an error saying no usergroup
is there a possibility to copy these across clients?
    pls advise
    thanks

    Hi,
sorry but my english isn't the best so i try an answer again and hope i'm on the right way:
Step by step guide for example client 100 and 200 on the same system. System 100 has usergroup test001 and client 200 has not.
    1. call sq03 in client 100
    2. pick the transport truck
    3. pick radiobutton [Export] and and radio button [Transport user groups] fill in the field [User groups] with test001.
4 Execute and write(copy to clipboard) down the transport number
    5 logon to client 200
    6. call sq03
    7.pick the transport truck
    8. pick radiobutton [Import] and radio button [Transport user groups] fill in the field [Dataset with imports] with the transport number.
    9. Execute
After that your user group should be in client 200.
If you want to transport between different systems you have export the transport request first.

  • Tracking USER GROUP changes

    Hi All,
I have two questions regarding user groups:
    1) How to find out who has created/changed a particular user group?
    2) Is it possible to transport user groups?
    Thanks,
    Vijaya

    Hi Vijaya,
as 'usergroups' are non-critical, there seem to be no changelogs for usergroups. So you could track changes only, if you switch on table-logging for the usergroup table.
    The table name is USGRP.
To transport usergroups, just transport tablecontents of table USGRP.
    (R3TR TABU).

We had the same problem and it turned out that deleting a portal user(delete_portal_user), removing a portal user from a list (delete_user_from_list) or updating a portal user, the "savepoint xxxx never established message" came up when there was no context set. If the procedure is called from within a portal page (or as user portal30) ,and the context is set and it works. The solution is to check to see if the context was set, and then set it if not.
    if not portal30.wwctx_api_private.is_context_set then
    portal30.wwctx_api_private.set_context(p_user_name => 'portal30');
    end if;
    Hope this helps

  • LDAP user groups not visible for configuring a Group Portal

    Hi,
We have created a Custom Security Realm(myRealm) on WebLogic 7.0 SP2 in which
I've added the Novell LDAP Authentication provider as the authentication provider
and then set "myRealm" as the default realm for the domain. I am able to start
the WLS server instance and login to portalAppTools with the "administrator" account.
We would like to configure a Group Portal. In Portal Administration interfaces,
when I click on Group Administartion, I am unable to see any of my external LDAP
groups. I know that we cannot create/delete users or groups in the external LDAP
repository thru the Admin UI but the documentation says that I should be able
to view the users/groups in the Admin UI. Authentication against the external
LDAP repository works fine. Can anybody suggest the reason why we are unable to
view any of the Users or Groups in our external LDAP repository thru the User
    Administration interfactes.
    Appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks
    Vikram

    Hi Jim,
I've configured a default LDAP V2 Compatibility Realm by modifying the Config.xml
file. I was able to restart Weblogic and see the LDAP Groups and Users thru the
WLS console. In our project we've a unique requirement wherein all Application
Groups and User Accounts would be stored in an LDAP repository and all BEA SERVICE
level accounts and groups are stored in a Database (groups like AdminEligible,
Administrators etc.). We need to be able to look at the groups in both the Database
and LDAP repositories in order to administer and configure a Group Portal. On
the outset it looks like we will not be able to do what we want to with the current
portal framework. Please suggest if there are any alternatives in order to implement
this solution. I am sure there are lot of other Clients who cannot create groups
like Administrators, AdminEligible etc in their LDAP repositories and will be
    forced to think of alternatives.
I would appreciate if you can reply back at your earliest convenience.
    Thanks

    see defaultLDAPRealmForNovellDirectoryServices at
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/cnfgsec.html#1083149
In addition, remember to test functionality through the Weblogic
Console. If you can see groups and users there okay it is very likely
    that Portal will operate.

  • How to map Portal User groups to a MDM System?

    Hi,
Have anyone tried mapping portal user group to a MDM System?
The idea is to avoid each user to do user mapping for MDM of their own.
When i look into the usermapping section of a portal user group, it shows me a message -
"There are no systems available for user mapping for the selected principal"
    Thanks and best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

    Hi All,
    Got it!
    1. Create portal users,
    2. Create a portal user group,
    3. Assign Users to User group,
    4. Go to System Administration, edit permission of the MDM system, add the user group to the MDM system permission list and save
    5. Go to User Management, modify the user grooup, go to the User mapping of the user group and do mapping for MDM system and user group using a valid MDM User name and password and Save
    6. In User Management, modify the Portal role for MDM , add the user group to the role and save
    7. Edit permission of the role object, add the user group to the permission list and save
    Result:
All the users assigned to the user group will be able to access MDM information on the portal correspond to the MDM mapping done at the user group level. This avoids self user mapping in personalization link.

    Hi, Kevin.
I'm glad to see your response again. I found some interesting information from your recommendation link. At this time, I know that impossible to get users/groups information by using DelegatedAtnProxyManagerControlFacade (ref: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14255/com/bea/portal/tools/ugm/controls/DelegatedAtnProxyManagerControlFacade.html) interface.
But, I dont know how to get an instance of an object that implemented this interface. My friend give me a codesnipet that shown the way to get a DelegatedAtnProxyManagerControlFacade by using this codesnipet in a GlobalController:
          try
            DelegatedAtnProxyManagerControlFacade delegatedAtnProxyManager = (DelegatedAtnProxyManagerControlFacade)getControl(DelegatedAtnProxyManagerControlFacade.class);
          catch (PolicyRefException e)
            reportPolicyRefException(e);
          catch (OperationNotSupportedException e)
            reportOperationNotSupportedException(e);
          }But I dont know what global.GlobalController actually is ?
I've asked Google for information but I got nothing. Do you know any documentation that describes about this controller ?
    Thanks, regards !

  • Assignment of users to groups in portal based on some filter criteria

    Hi All,
I have some 200 users in portal and the UME is portal database. Now I want to assign 50 users who belong to a specific department to a new group in portal.
Unfortunately during the assignment of users to groups there is no advanced search option where I can search for the users based on some criteria like department, organisation unit, first name etc. We can only search for the user based on user id or name.
How can we do a mass assignment of users to groups based on filter?
Any suggestions / solutions are highly appreciated. Points are rewarded for sure.
    thanks
    Sreeram

    Hi Sreeram,
    three possibilities:
1.) Develop a small component which does a search based on the criteria you want to use and which then assigns the found users to the group in question. Not really hard, but every development takes some time to develop, some time to test. So if you really want this actione done just once, development may take too long; if the scenario may happen more often, it may make sense to have such a component ready.
2.) Search for the users based on the criteria you want to use via the portals UI. Copy the result into some wordpad, and assign all results afterwards manually, as you have described. Ugly, but (for a one-time action) faster than 1.).
3.) Start like 2.), but use the copied result within the wordpad to "import" the group definition via a text file, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1a/cde2fb82644d98bfb6d558440d6806/frameset.htm and around. Probably the fastest and most efficient way to go!
    Hope it helps

  • List of Portal Users/Groups

Is there a way to get the list of users/groups in the Portal to allow us to add security to our custom built portlet? Once the security has been added, we can use the APIs to check if someone is privileged, but how do we get a list of the users/groups to select from in the first place.

Just check if<b> IRole and IUser</b> Interfaces have the necessary methods to do so.....
