Transporting a change request created in SNOTE

Hello all,
I'm fairly new to all this so hopefully there's an easy solution to my problem. I've implemented an OSS note correction in our BW development system via transaction SNOTE. This worked fine and during this process I was prompted to create a new local change request and did so. My problem comes when I'm trying to transport this request to our BW QA system. I released the request in development but when adding it to the transport queue in QA I get an error:
"Transport control program tp ended with error code 0247"
Our transport system is currently working normally so I think the problem is with the request. Does this change need to be in a Customizing request or a Workbench request? Please advise.

When I activete them, The system requires accesskey.
How could this happen? And any solution for this?
I can't deapply the notes any more. coz it's bug fix for SNOTE.
If I do this, the system will be inconsistent, this happened beffore

Dear developers,
do you know how to check the returncode when transporting a change request to test or productive system.
In my case I have the special problem that change requests will be transported in an async way so that the developer could not check in the SAP solution manager whether the transport is error free or canceled with an error.
Is there a way to switch the transport management in the solution manager to a synchronous mode?

STMS_QA - allow transport of change requests

Hi,
we have configured the quality assurance tool (TMS). Now the users must - allow - the transport of change requests into the productive SAP-system via
transaction STMS_QA.
If we transport objects via "transport of copies" (from another SAP-system) the QA doesnt work. The users can avoid the QA-System.
Does anyone know how I could define the transport routes to avoid this situation?

put the Objects in this ( from another system )<b> "transport of copies"</b> request and give the TARGET System name .
It is simple process , if u are doing first time do it carefully .
after doing the process check the TARGET system.

Local Change Request created in PRODUCTION needs to be moved to SANDBOX

I need to transport a request from Production (BWP) to a sandbox system (BS1), but when I create the transport it is created as a Local Change Request. How can I change it to a transportable request? I've checked the development class and it is correct. The package is ZBW and the transport layer is ZBD1. Please help.

Adding further to Santosh's suggestion....
Creating the transport of copies is the easiest option..if this is a one time activity...
Once the the objects are included from the Local change request to the transport of copies...release this...
Then move the tranport files at the OS level to the import queue of the Sandbox system....then in STMS of the SANDBOX..attach these file to the queue and then import it....

No change request created when applying OSS Note

Hi,
I have applied around 3 OSS Notes to my ECC 5.0 system. I got a promt for the change request creation. I have created a new change request and then saved it.
But when I applied the next 2 OSS Notes, i didn't get any prompt to create or select the existing request.
How can I create a change request for this application of OSS Notes and how to transport them to quality if i dont have a request number?

Hi Vijay,
I think this is normal if the objects being changed by the OSS Note are already held in an earlier change request owned by you (or others) and has not been released.
Use transaction SE03 to search for the objects being changed by the OSS Notes (you will get object name in the note itself) and find out which change request is holding the object.
Once you find the change request either unlock it or release it (depending on your company process/policies) and then re-implement the OSS Note.

Transporting local change request

Hi all,
I had updated an include (MV50AFZ1 - SAP standard one - used access key to change this) to copy STO header and item texts to delivery when delivey documnet was created. This was created as a local change request. My basis guy tells me that this request cannot be transported.
Kindly let me know how this can be done.

Go in that include and change it once thenit will ask for the package name to save , then save it in a package so that a new request will be created.
If it is not happening..
Then in the menu of ur include <b>goto->object directory entry</b> change the $tmp to new package,
then it will ask for the request...
or
else the best way is to delete the old local request.. then if u save it, it will automatically ask for the package and then u can able to create a requset...

Can some one tell me a simple scenario including following terms. I needed this as I am unable to picture everything together when I read documentation about these.

4. Package (Transportable)
5. Creating a Change Request (who will do this normally, as a developer how do I get this)
6. Releasing Change Request
7. Collecting Objects
Plese take a simple scenario like adding KF to a infoCube or changing a report.

Please see my comments below.
1. Transports
Generally used to transport changes from development to QA to Production. Direct changes in Production is not advisable. Hence we make use of this tool.
2. Change Request
A change request/transport request stores all the objects you are changing and assigning them to this request. Any further changes to these objects will automatically be captured in this request.
3. Task
Generally, when a second user changes the same object which is captured in a request, a task is created under that request. However, when you release request, the final change gets transported. You need to release task before releasing a request.
4. Package (Transportable)
You define a group of objects as package just for identification purpose. For example, for workbench objects like cubes, I/O, ODS, you define workbench package. Whenever you are using transport connection from rsa1, and capture the objects in a request, you must assign each and every object to a particular package. There is no hard and fast rule of define packages. It is just for identification purpose.
5. Creating a Change Request (who will do this normally, as a developer how do I get this)
Generally, you as a developer should do this. Whenever you are making some change to an object and activating it, it will ask for a transport request. Otherwise, you can also drag and drop individual objects and select them and transport using transport connection tab in RSA1.
You can see the transport requests that you have created in transaction se09 or se10.
6. Releasing Change Request
Right click the request in se10 and click release.
7. Collecting Objects
You need to collect in target server. Generally, in most of the places, this process is automized with a workflow. you don't need to take care of this.

Transporting change request's

Hi,
a developer has changed a include. Also he has saved the changes in a change request (e.g. XA1817). Few days later I have also changed some lines on the same source code as my colleague and I have saved it on another change request (XA1819).
Now what happens if I transport my change request (XA1819) before transporting the change request from my colleague (XA1819) in productive system?

If the change request was not released, the system should not have allowed you to change the object without putting a change request underneath the request of the other users. Check your colleagues transport request, your request should be apart of it. Then can be released and the changes will move under one transport.
If you see the same object under two different transport requests which are both not released and not tied to each other, then you have a real problem.
I assume that you transport request is tied to your colleagues, check SE10.

Tansportable request change to local change request by mistake

Hi,
I have a standard 3 system TMS, DEV,QAS, PRD
I delete the virtual QAS and active the transport route by mistake, and all the transport able request changed to local change request...
and now I have configured the TMS in the right way.
and can create the transportable request.
How can I move the old requests back?
From local chang request to transportable request?

I remeber doing something like this.
SE01--> Create a transport of copies request --->create new request ---> then to the new requset ---> go to the Request/task (menu item) -
> other request (here we can choose which transport we want to include in this new TR) .
I am not really sure why we choosed like Transport of copies and why not others.etc.
Even I need to read more about this.I remembered that this worked for us.

How to include Change Request Title and Description in Approval email

Trying to figure out how to include the title and description of a Change Request in the email that goes to the managers when they approve it. Below is what we have now in the email template.
Change request $Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Id$: $Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity'
SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Title$, created by $Context/Path[Relationship='WorkItem!System.WorkItemCreatedByUser' TypeConstraint='System!System.User']$?$DisplayName$?, requires your
approval.
You can complete this request by replying to this message with [Approved] or [Rejected] in your message body (note the brackets).
Alternatively, you can complete the request by looking up Review Activity $Context/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Id$ under the Activity Management views in the Service Manager Console and manually approving or rejecting it there.
This basically translates to:

When I click on Insert, there is a huge list of items and sub-items with all kinds of properties and I don't know what to select.
The Targeted Class of the template is Activity

This translates to the Title of the CR (given that the targeted activity is contained in a CR). Simply replace
Title with Description.
Also if the Change Manager can approve a CR just by the description you have bigger issues (or just putting everything in the description). What about a reason? Implementation
plan, rollback plan, testing, etc.?

Implement Change Request

Hi,
We have change request created in the project. The change request is in approved status. When i try to implement the impact into the cost budget i am getting the error *'You cannot implement this change document in its current status in Cost Budget*.'
I have both baseline and working version of cost budget. The working version is unlocked and can be edited.
Any idea what might be the issue?

I have already inclued the CR in the financial Plan type. But the Update for Cost Pencil icon was disabled for cost. So i could not able include the status of the CR. But the pencil icon for Revenue is not disabled. I can able to edit.
FYI.. In CR type both Cost and revenue is enabled in budget update method.

I checked in SE03 transaction the transport request was there. But I want to retrieve the existing transport request which is not moved to Quality?
Is it possible to retrieve the existing transport request in development which is not moved to quality ?
Like how we retrieving the programs using versions in development server, In the same way I want to retrieve the sapscript layout in development server ?

Hi,
There is no version management for SapScript or Smartforms .
When you write "transport request in development which is not moved to quality" - was the transport ever released and exported from the development system? If yes, and if the "Transport files" are still available in "Transport directory" (or if the transport files were backed up and could be retrieved), the transport could be imported again. If the TR was not exported, you are out of luck, I believe...
I would not recommend you do it on your own even if you happen to have enough authorizations (consult with Basis and/or Transport Admin, if you have one in your organization). I would not recommend that it's imported on a development system or QA system, even if the transport contains no other objects - only the SapScript form in question. Import it on a "sand-box" that gets overwritten by system copy from time to time... Once the transport is imported, you should have the old version of SapScript in that system and could analyse the changes and perform manual merge.

You can create Change Request using two ways.
You can create a Change Request from a Service Desk Message using the action "Create Change Request" or you can create a Change Request directly in transaction CRMD_ORDER.
