Treemap deserialization error

Question

I am creating a map as shown below. It
serializes and saves to disk fine.
When I try to load it I get this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\ruleset.jeff2
could not load file java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicFileChooserUI$AcceptAllFileFilter
the first part of the message is my personal debug line.
Here's the code:

        JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser();
        int result = chooser.showOpenDialog(this);
        if (result == JFileChooser.CANCEL_OPTION) return;
        try {
            rulePath = chooser.getSelectedFile().getPath();
            System.out.println(chooser.getSelectedFile());
            FileInputStream fileIn = new FileInputStream(chooser.getSelectedFile());
            ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(fileIn);
            ruleSet = (Map)in.readObject( );
        catch (Exception e) {
            System.out.println("could not load file    " + e);
        }As far as the "ruleSet = (Map)in.readObject( );" line goes, I have tried TreeMap in place of Map, which also doesn't work.
