Trigger returning date in diffrent formats

We just reticently received a update to an .net application from a vendor. When our client machines (Windows XP) run the app we receive 2 different date formats returned from an post insert table trigger. The correct format is 'DD-MON-YY' in which a couple machines still return and the others return the format 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MM:SS'. I've tried setting the NLS_Date Format with no success. Any suggestions?

tell your vendor not to use the machine date instead let them use Sysdate from the database. it is more safer compare to client machine date.
Let them use the "SELECT sysdate FROM dual".

  • DAQ Return Data Binary Codes Format

    Hi!
    I'm working with ComponentWorks together with C++ Builder and i want to
    know the binary codes format when an acquisition is performed. My DAQ card
    is a PCI-MIO-16E-4.
    When i get the scaled data there's no problem.
    Thanks.

    Hello Marcel,
    Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
    NI does not have a tool that will convert into MDF format. There is a Plug-In for Diadem which allows you to read MDF files at http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=E267F645DF776A21E034080020E74861&p_node=201258 .
    The following website might be helpful to you. It has general information on MDF format and tools for creating MDF files. http://www.techquila.com/index.html
    I hope this helps,

  • How to insert the data even the trigger returned null

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a question regarding on how to insert the record even the condition being used by a "before insert trigger" returned null.
    The scenario is:
    2 tables have the same structure:
    Table A (Name varchar2 (100), No Number)
    Table B (Name_1 varchar2 (100), No Number)
    A script is using to load the data into table A daily, and a “before insert trigger” is being used to get the value for A.Name = B.Name whenever the condition A.No equals to B.No.
    If the B.No exists, then the trigger work fine, otherwise the records will be rejected, this is not the way we wanted, so I just wonder, is there any way to load all the data to the other fields but still using this trigger ?
    Thanks,
    Tran

    Either amend the select in the trigger that gets the name value to not raise a NO_DATA_FOUND exception (e.g. change "select name..." to "select min(name)..." ) or handle the NO_DATA_FOUND exception in an exception handler.
    e.g.
    EXCEPTION
      WHEN no_data_found THEN
        :new.name = 'where the streets have no name';

  • How to parse system date to return Date and in yyyy-MM-dd format?

    pe.printStackTrace();
    Actually, After parsing the date from string, again it is converted into dfault format i.e. 21 Jan 00.00.00 etc...
    But I want this parsing date in yyyy-MM-dd format and again to return date.
    Can anybody tell me how to do this?

    DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat
    ("yyyy-MM-dd");
    java.util.Date date = new java.util.Date ();
    String dateStr = dateFormat.format (date);
    try{
    Date date2 = dateFormat.parse (dateStr);
    }catch(ParseException pe){
    pe.printStackTrace();
    Actually, After parsing the date from string, again
    it is converted into dfault format i.e. 21 Jan
    00.00.00 etc...
    But I want this parsing date in yyyy-MM-dd format and
    again to return date.
    Can anybody tell me how to do this?A Date object does not have a format, it represents a moment in time. You can use SimpleDateFormat to return a String representing that moment in time in many formats - this does not change the Date object to have that format (which it cannot since it does not contain a format).

  • Convert a date in String format to a Date

    Hi,
    How can I convert a date in String format to a Date object?
    I have tried:
    import java.text.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.util.Locale;

    /** Creates a new instance of casa */
    public casa() {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws SQLException{
    try {
    DateFormat shortFormat = DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT);
    Date date = shortFormat.parse(mydate);
    //Open Database
    con = getConnection();
    s = con.createStatement();
    sql = "select date1 from table1 where date1 <= '"+date+"'";
    ResultSet rs = s.executeQuery(sql);
    while(rs.next()){
    String aba = rs.getString("datum");
    System.out.println("New Datum = "+aba);
    } catch (Exception ex ) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    closeConnection(s, con);
    //Connection
    private static Connection getConnection() {
    Connection con = null;
    String user ="aouzi";
    String passe ="aouzi";
    String url = "jdbc:db2:EjbTest";
    try {
    //Datenbanktreiber laden
    Class.forName("COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver");
    //Verbindung herstellen
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,passe);
    }catch(ClassNotFoundException e){
    } catch(SQLException e){}
    return con;
    //close Connection
    private static void closeConnection(Statement s, Connection con) {
    try {
    s.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {}
    try {
    con.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {}
    I'm getting the following errors:
    COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2Exception: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/NT] SQL0180N
    The syntax of the representation of a date/time of day value as character sequence is false. .SQLSTATE=22007

    I'm pretty sure it won't understand what date.toString() returns. If you know what format the database understands, you do it like this:
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MMM-yy"); // e.g. 18-Apr-02
    String datestring = sdf.parse(date);
    and use that instead of date in your sql string. Some databases understands it if you do
    "to_date('18-Apr-02')"
    so you could include that in your sql string as well..
    You could also try to make it a java.sql.Date and hope your jdbc driver knows how to convert it to a string that the database understands if you don't know the format:
    con = getConnection();
    PreparedStatement ps = con.prepareStatement("select date1 from table1 where date1 <= ?");
    ps.setDate(new java.sql.Date(date.getTime()));
    ResultSet rs = s.executeQuery(sql);

  • How do you vary the Date/Time stamp format in File Adapters

    In the receiver channel of the File Adapter where you specify the 'File Name Scheme', you do have the option of specifying a 'File Construction Mode' of 'Add Time Stamp'.  How can you specify a different Date/Time stamp format ( eg MM/DD/YY vs YYYYMMDD vs MMDDYY, etc. ) without changing the Date/Time stamp for the entire SAP system?  Also, can you control where the Date/Time stamp appears in the filename?

    Hi,
    There are many threads discussing the same issue. Go thro the following:
    Dynamic file name (Date) in Receiver File Adapter
    Receiver File Adapter - TimeStamp
    Bhavesh's reply in above thread:
    You can use Adapter Specific Identifiers and then change the file name in the mapping. Append the tiem stamp in the format that you want and so on.
    Just use this code in an UDF,
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String SourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    java.text.SimpleDateFormat dateformat = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat( "yyyyMMdd" );
    dateformat.format( new java.util.Date() );
    String newfilename=SourceFileName+dateformat;
    // change to new file name
    conf.put(key, newfilename);
    return "";

  • Query in ASWE XML code doesn't return data

    Hello, since people on the Oracle Metalink site are to lazy to give an answer to this question. I'll try it via this forum. Here we go:
    I'm developing wireless applications running on Oracle9i Application Server Wireless Edition. I'v tried to implement the employee sample from Oracle Online Mobile Studio (studio.oraclemobile.com). The sample name is employee.jsp. This sample combines XML code with JSP.
    (code at the end of the text)
    When I test the sample I get no query results.
    When you take the first option for example, (search by dept number) the query result will not be displayed. I think it has something to do with the "executeQuery" line.
    rset = stmt.executeQuery("select * from EMP where EMPNO='" + empNum + "'");
    After giving the following input (employeenumber) 7369 (which excists in the
    database). I get the following errors:
    The panama server log returns the following error:

    Does this have something to do with the encoding of the query result in the select statement? As you can see the variable is in the requeststring (URL = http://host/portal/test/employee.jsp?&empNum=7369)
    My database connection works fine (I've also tested the query using SQL plus and the SQL adapter also works).
    Is this the right statement?: ("select * from EMP where EMPNO='" + empNum + "'");
    I can not do anything with the error in the jserv.log (java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column name).
    The columnname EMPNO excists in the example table. The query in SQL plus gives a result.
    Can someone give my any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    ... where EMPNO=1949

  • Date and Cost formats in export toward Excel (2013)

    Hi,
    I'm trying to export Start date and Cost of my project tasks to Excel:
    File/Save as/ Excel Workbook...
    but all these date and cost data arrive in Excel with Text format. With the 2003 version, date and cost formats were well recognized.
    I'm using Project 2013 English and Excel 2013 English on a French Win 7.
    What are the settings (decimal separator...) which are needed to allow this feature ?
    Thanks

    Hi Julie,
    Thanks for your help.
    The "Convert to Number" feature works fine for the Cost.
    But the dates arrive as text with a long format such as "03 August 2015 08:00" and the  =DateValue(Cell
    reference) function returns an error : #VALUE!
    Any idea to retrieve the dates?
    Thanks again

    end loop
    return my_var;
    I comfortably convert 32k BLOB field to string.
    My problem is how to convert blob to varchar having size more than 32K.
    Please help me to resolve this,
    Thanx in advance for the support,

  • Presentation variable(Date) in German Format

    Hi,
    I like to know whether it is possible to use date(prompt) in German format.
    e.g., We need to filter out the date(06.01.2009) which is given in Dashboard prompt as a Presentation variable.
    The date which we have given in prompt should be accessed by reports to perform some calculations and return back the calculation values.
    As we have tried the presentation variable(date) in US Format,it is working fine.
    Regards,
    Sakthi

    Hi kishore,
    I am not clear with the above mentioned forum link.
    We are using presentation variable for dynamic calculations inside the report.
    Suppose if we are giving date for dynamic calculation,as far as we are using this format (01.Jan.09) and convert the above format in required as used for calculations.
    The problem comes when german date format(01.Dez.2008) is given in prompt,it will throw an error.
    Because both German and US will have January & Januar Jan(First 3 letters as same) but when it comes for some months like December(Dezember(German)),we cannot convert into required format.
    Is there any solution for the above issue.

  • Return Data from query, but not in datagrid.

    Using Flex Builder 2 and ColdFusion, does anyone have advice
    or examples of running a query to database and returning the
    results for display in something other than datagrid? I need more
    control over where my returned data is displaying on my
    forms.

    Hi!
    By using HTTPService class (see
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/langref/mx/rpc/http/mxml/HTTPService.html)
    you can execute a db query script which will send the data to flex.
    The data can be any of object|array|xml|e4x|flashvars|text formats.
    You can them handle it however you want to populate whatever
    flex objet.
    Does this help ?

  • Date and time format please

    I have a date and time held separately eg. int day, int month, int year. same with hours seconds and minutes
    Is there an easy way to format this information into date and time please!!

    You might just build a string and convert it to a Date.
                     import java.util.*;
                     import java.text.*;
         /** getDateFromString converts a String to a Date according to the szPattern format.
          ** The szPattern format is based on a SimpleDateFormat custom format
          ** or the Date.toString( ) output format as a default
         public     Date     getDateFromString( String stringDate, String szPattern )     {
              SimpleDateFormat dateFormatter;
              Date myDate = new Date( );
              if( szPattern.length( ) <= 0 )
                   szPattern = new String( szDefaultPattern );
              dateFormatter = new SimpleDateFormat( szPattern, currentLocale );
              try {
                   myDate = dateFormatter.parse( stringDate );
              } catch( ParseException e ) {
                   P.rintln( e );
              return( myDate );
         }The following class variables are defined elsewhere:
    currentLocale = new Locale("en","US");
    szDefaultPattern = "EEE MMM d HH:mm:ss z yyyy";

    Hi Vijay,
    Please open Microsoft Excel from your system and then create some entries (ex. having 3 columns and 3 rows). Save this file to some location in your system. Later you will need to give the location path of this saved file when uploading it from your web dynpro application.
    Creating of an Excel file (i.e the 4th step) is no where related to Web Dynpro and NWDS.
    Hope this helps!

    Kishan
