Trouble changing APEX to serve https...
I installed 11g with Application Express 3.0.1.00.08. That is the version we are currently working with. It is serving off of 8080 at the moment, but we need it to run on on port 443. Can anyone please point to a GOOD guide on how to set this up? We have been through several trials and none seem to work.
If this is about the Embedded Gateway:
In my answer on another Re: Enable SSL/https on ApEx Embedded PL/SQL Gateway/11g?.
Here is the Oracle documentation:

ApEx install with HTTP server on separate boxes
I want to configure ApEx 3.1 that is installed in an Oracle 10.2 database on server1 (linux) to work with an OracleAS 10.2 HTTP server installed on server2 (also linux). What extra steps do I need to do? I understand I need to place the images directory from the ApEx installation directory on server1 to AS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache directory on server2 and change the connect string in the dads.conf file to point to the server1. Is that correct?
Hello,
Yes that's correct. It's well described in the Oracle Apex Installation Guide and documentation:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/toc.htm

Changing from EPG to HTTP...
Hi
We have had speed issues running apex on epg so decided to migrate to using the Oracle HTTP server. I have donwloaded and installed the webtier software and finally discovered which dads.conf file I should be editing....
Now we get the following error when we access the url for Apex (http://dev55:7777/pls/apex/apex) :
Service Temporarily Unavailable
Sorry!The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server.
We are running a recent clean install of apex 4.0 on 11gR2 under IBM AIX 6.1. Is there a configuration step I have missed?
Any help which will prevent my state of baldness increasing will be much appreciated!
SteveHi,
How did you get HTTPS to work with EPG in the first place?
We are having issues in getting it to work.
We have APEX 4.0 on 11.1.0.7.0 on an AIX 6 box.
We are using XML Gateway to deploy a small application.
Does HTTPS even work with EPG? We followed the Admin guide to set the HTTPS and applied the changes.
Then what?
Do we logout?
Restart the Instance?
Does our port change?
When using HTTP, Our URL used to be "HTTP://<hostname>:8080/apex/f?p=appname:homepage"
Now what does the URL change to when using HTTPS....
just switch HTTP to HTTPS? Does not work for us.
Hope to have a resolution. TIA.
Regards

How to change your Administration Server password when you're locked out
How to change your Administration Server password when you're locked out
The Netscape server products are all managed by a single administration
server, which gives you a web forms-based interface you can use to
configure them, start/stop them, check their logs, and so forth.
<P>
There are three levels of protection that keep the general public from
being able to get into your administration server and mess up the
configuration of any Netscape servers you have installed:
<P>
<OL>
<LI> <B>Obscurity:</B> Your administration server can run on any port you'd
like (usually something between 81 and 30,000), so if an attacker
doesn't know what port to find your admin server on, he can't get
into it.<P>
<LI> <B>Host restrictions:</B> You can tell your admin server to only allow
connections from specific hosts, and to reject all other hosts.
<P>
<LI> <B>Password protection:</B> Even if a user connects to your admin server
from a valid host, he won't be allowed to get into even the first
page unless he presents a valid username and password.
</OL>
<P>
If you, the legitimate administrator of your web server, are unable to
access the administration server (if you forgot your password or the
admin port number or if you accidentally locked your own site out),
then here is how to get past each of these levels of protection:
<P>
<OL>
<LI> If you don't remember what port your administration server is
running on, just look in your "ns-admin.conf" file, which is in
the "admserv" directory under your Netscape server directory.
(For 1.x web servers on Windows NT, run "regedt32" and go to the
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Netscape\Administration" section).
You will see a "Port" entry there that specifies what port your
admin server is on. You can change this value if you want your
admin server to run on a different port, but make sure you restart
the admin server after you change the value.
<P>
<LI> If your admin server is complaining "Unauthorized host" when you
try to connect to it, then you can open it up to all sites by
going into the "ns-admin.conf" file or the "Administration"
section of your NT registry, as described above, and deleting the
lines for "Hosts" and "Addresses" (either one of those might not
be present) then restarting your admin server (on Unix run
"stop-admin" then "start-admin"; on NT go into the Services
control panel and stop/start the "Netscape Administration" or
"Netscape Admin Server" service). You will then be able to get
back into the admin server, where you can then try new settings
for your host and address restrictions if you wish.
<P>
<LI> If you have forgotten the password to your admin server and now
you can't log into your admin pages, all is not lost! Go into
your "ns-home" directory, and into the "admserv" directory under
that. You should find an "admpw" text file containing a simgle
line of text, something like this:
admin:lnOVeixulqkmU
The first part of that line is the name of your admin account
(usually just "admin"), and the second part is your admin
password, encrypted. Edit this file to remove the encrypted
password so that your file looks like this:
admin:
Then shut down your admin server, bring it back up again, and log
into your admin server but don't give any password. It should let
you in, at which point you can then go to the appropriate
configuration page to set a new admin password, and then you're
back in business.
</OL><P>
Note that because it is so easy to change the admin password this
way, it's good to periodically make certain that your admin
password file and your web server's configuration files are not
left world-writable, and that only trusted people have access to
them. (By default they're not world-writable, but it's good to
make sure of this from time to time.)If you mean that yu forgo the password for yur encrypted backup then you can only:
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.

Following on from the previous problem I had with Error 33331, we moved the application to a new APEX installation. Everything was fine for 30 mintes until
we started getting this error :-
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SHOW'
I've put in tracing in the httpd.conf file at info level and switched on mod_plsql tracing. Everything went fine for another 40 minutes but we're now getting the same errors, the following is one of the mod_plsql trace files.
I have a hunch caching is at the root of the problem ?

After changing 'MS SQL server' service's user name SDAC doesn't work properly
I've changed 'MS SQL Server' service user name
from .\admin (have had such already) to network_services
and now my oracle linked servers to Oracle instance stopped to work.
Namely, 'Cannot create an instance of OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server Ora_RO'.
In event log i see next:
The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2206CDB0-19C1-11D1-89E0-00C04FD7A829}
and APPID
{2206CDB0-19C1-11D1-89E0-00C04FD7A829}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
So, MSDAINITIALIZE Class fails to start. I cannot locate this service under dcomcnfg. Could you help me?The error seems to be clear what is causing the issue, check this link to fix this issue
Here the scenario is with SharePoint instead oracle so you can make out:-

Help! I was cruzing along just fine and went out tonight only to receive the message above:
Cannot open Page
Safari cannot open the page
The error was: "There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP)."
I have had all the Apple iPhone phone. Have never encountered anything like this.
All systems are GO as soon as I log on to wifi.
Can anyone help, please.I am also fixed. I also loaded Onavo, but that was the other day ... this is what I did with the help of online chat with AT&T ...
I went to:
Settings
Wifi
I selected the network I was working on by hitting the blue arrow located on right side
At the detail page of that network I scolled down to the bottom to find HTTP Proxy boxes
I was on Off and changed it to Auto and it worked!
I was soo jazzed!!
Instructions said if it was already on AUTO, to change it to Manual and make your Port = 80 but I didn't have to do that!
YIPPIE!! I'm a new man!!
Go to settings -----> WI-FI -----> select the network you're using ------> hit the blue arrow located on the right-side of the network name (ie: show details of that network), this takes you to another page.
--------> at the bottom of the page you'll see "HTTP Proxy" boxes (located below the "renew lease" button) ---------------> change the proxy to AUTO. Note: if you're already at AUTO, change it to "Manual" and make your Port = 80. -

mod_plsql: /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-400 Too many arguments passed in. Got 3250 parameters. Upper limit is 2000
Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.3.1.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at insightapps.oraclecorp.com Port 80Section 1.10 of the Oracle HTTP Server mod_plsql User's Guide states the following
The total number of name value pairs that can be passed to a PL/SQL procedure is 2000.
mod_plsql limits the total number of parameters that can be passed to a single procedure to 2000.
mod_plsql limits the size of a single parameter that can be passed to a procedure to 32000 bytes.
It would be helpful to know how each of these apply in the APEX context

Charm Impact on changing the production server
Hi All,
we currently using Charm for a three system ECC landscape.
Now currently so many changes are there in various stages.
now , the team is planning to change the production server to high availabitlity server.
there will not be any change in the transport route and all, only instead of existing server, the new server details will be added.
I just wanted to know will there be any major impact in the current chagnes.
kindly advice.
Thanks,
Subhashini.Hi
its like system migration to the new server? or it is by client export?
can you refer the thread [How to replicate Existing running Production server.|How to replicate Existing running Production server.]

Trouble starting managed weblogic server on another machine in acluster
Hi,
I was having trouble starting managed weblogic server on another machine in a cluster from the command prompt
I have following setup:
1) BEA weblogic is installed on 2 machines - local machine A with ip address 172.17.2.219 and another machine B with ip address 172.17.2.201
2)node manager is running on both machines
3)An admin server myserver on the local machine at port 7001
4)In the admin tree under Machines a new machine is created 'Machine1' with Node manager Listen Address: 172.17.2.201
5) The managed server 'BEAServerMan1 ' instance is created with listen Address 172.17.2.201 and port 7705. This Server is assigened to Machine1. The server also belongs to a cluster 'Cluster1' where the 172.17.2.201:7705 is part of the Cluster Address.
I can start 'BEAServerMan1 from http://172.17.2.16:7001/console/
But I am unable to start BEAServerMan1 from the console using the command :
startManagedWebLogic BEAServerMan1 http://172.17.2.219:7001
startManagedWebLogic.sh BEAServerMan1 http://172.17.2.219:7001

How to change the web server??
How to change the web server in the details of the mobile application component in the MI webconsole??
hello irene,
had your tried checking on the "Use IP instead of host
name" checkbox?
to edit your registered application info, go to
"Upload Mobile Component" tab and click on the Edit icon
on the left part of the record list which corresponds to
the application you had just uploaded.
your application is uploaded to the same host as your
web console application is running on. if you like to
point it to a different server where you have your
archive accessible, you have to change your mcd
deployment attributes on your middleware. try the ff:
1)run tcode: mi_mcd
2)click on Create Mobile Component
3)Enter Mobile Solution Name and Version
4)Click on Display MCD
5)Select Deployment Tab
6)Click on Edit
7)Change the values of WEBSERVER and WEBPATH location eg.
if your archive is located at
http://myotherserver:80/archive/myapplication.war
your entry will be:
WEBSERVER: http://myotherserver:80
WEBPATH: /archive/myapplication.war
where you myotherserver is the name of your http host
server and myapplication.war is the name of your archive.
the archive directory is just a virtual directory where
your application archive is.
you might need to change the port number depending on
your http server port.

Messaging tracking logs filename format changed in Exchange Server 2013 sp1
Hi,
I have noticed that the file name format is changed for exchange server 2013 sp1.
Now it will have hh attached to it like
MSGTRKMSyyyymmddhh-n.log;
MSGTRKMDyyyymmddhh-n.log:
MSGTRKyyyymmddhh-n.log.
So the "hh" will goes from 00 to 23 for single day.
So Lets say at 24 april 2014 first fill is created @7.30 AM, so the first file name will be
MSGTRK2014042400-1.log. Now exchange server will create new file every hour by incrementing hh part of file name. Now the last file i.e
MSGTRK2014042423-1.log will be created on 25 April 2014 at 6.30 AM.
I am not able to understand why exchange server is creating the file with old date on next day ( with 24 April on file name time stamp on 25 April).
And also how it will be decided to create the first file @ 7.30 AM.
Can anyone explain to me about this ? Why it is happening like this?
Thanks
Sandeep GuptaHi Sandeep,
This could related to the time difference. What’s the time zone of your server? In my lab, many files in the last day were created in the next day. For example, files in 20140410
were created on 20140411.
Also, as you mentioned, the file name format is as:
MSGTRKMSyyyymmddhh-n.log;
MSGTRKMDyyyymmddhh-n.log:
MSGTRKyyyymmddhh-n.log.
However as I know, the format is like
MSGTRKyyyymmdd-m.log, it will not have “hh”(you mean hours) in the behind and the file is not created every hour but create a new file when the old is full. So please capture some screenshots of the message tracking files
and the date/time information of the file to verify.

Hi,
We have TREX 7.0 installed in Solman. We have configured our SRM system to use TREX. Now we would like to bring the TREX server to the same system where SRM runs (SRM 4.0).
So there would be a server hostname change (From SOLMAN to SRM) for TREX configuration.
I have checked the URL in help.sap.com (attached below) which explains the "Changing the TREX Host Name (Single Host)", is it the only changes I have to perform for this switch over?
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/1b074063616446e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm
Please advice.
Thanks
ShylHi,
Regarding the change in TREX server, please go through the below details and provide your inputs on the same,
Current Scenario:
TREX 7.0 is installed in Solution Manager system.
TREX is used by SRM and PI applications through RFC.
Requirement:
TREX for SRM should be moved from existing Solution Manager system to SRM server.
Question:
As per help.sap.com for host name change for TREX servers, it is mentioned only change the host name in TREX configuration files and Profile settings. But we have installed TREX 7 only in Solution Manager. We have older version of TREX in SRM server. So if we follow help.sap.com and change the files and move the file systems related to TREX 7 from Solution Manager to SRM system, is that the only change we have to perform?
OR
Do we need to install TREX 7 in our SRM server and then move related file system to the installed SRM server?
Please note that after the move also, TREX which use in PI application should work as usual.
I welcome all your inputs on this subject.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Shyl
