Trouble with Phase Listener?
I am having a problem getting my page beans' "init", "preprocess" and "prerender" methods to fire. My page beans are inherited from "com.sun.jsfcl.app.AbstractPageBean" which do have these methods defined. From what I've found, it appears that my problem is a lack of a "phase-listener" in my faces-config.xml file. How should this be configured? If I put in:
<lifecycle>
<phase-listener>com.sun.jsfcl.app.AbstractPageBean</phase-listener>
</lifecycle>
I get an error that the phase listener can't be instantiated (which makes sense, it is abstract). How do I configure my application so that the "init", "preprocess" and "prerender" methods fire?
Thanks,
Lonnie
I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. This is not JSF specific.
Maybe you're using some additional JSF component library which offers this stuff. I guess that it is Woodstock again. In any way, you should consult the documentation which come along with the component library for answers on this kind of questions.

Trouble with continuous listening to songs
I just updated my sportify app on my sony xperia z2, but for some reason, my music won't go to the next song when the song i started with ended. This happens only (I think) with songs that aren't from spotify. If i want to go to the next song i have to do it manualy, but thats kinda annoying. I tried restarting my phone but that didnt work. I have no clue what the cause is of this problem, but before the update i had no problems with the app.
sorry for my bad english writing, but i hope you understand my problem :Prgg wrote:
I'm also seeing this since the update to v2.2.0.636. Playing any downloaded local song works fine but playback stops at the end of the song. The controls show that Spotify is still playing, rather than stopped or paused. Skipping forward works correctly. This does not happen with songs downloaded from Spotify.
I'm on an HTC M8, unlocked European version, running Lollipop 5.0.1. I haven't tried a clean install because quite frankly I'm fed up being told to delete and reinstall hundreds on songs each time a new bug is introduced.

ADF:How to use NavigationHandler in Phase-Listener with adfc-config.xml
Hi,
in our application a user should be navigated to the login-page, when he tries to navigate directly to a page where he has no right for or if the session is expired.
Our navigation is complete in the adfc-config.xml. So I created a phase-listener, which is called by the adf-settings.xml.
Inside the phase-listener I'm checking the rights. If the user doesn't have the needed rights, he should be linked to the login page. But how can I do that?
Some days ago our navigation has been complete in the faces-config.xml. But now we moved the navigation to the adfc-config.xml, because we are sure that it's better. E.g. for using the dialog framework.
In the face-config.xml we had also the call of the phase-listener. There we did the forwarding like this and it worked:
FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
facesContext.getApplication().getNavigationHandler().handleNavigation(facesContext, null, "login_page");But now I think I have to use the ADFContext somehow, or?
So how can I do that with the adfc-config.xml?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Bastian
I'm using JDeveloper 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.3.0)Hello Frank,
thanks for your answer, but it doesn't really help me, because I'm a newbie, sorry.
Does your answer mean, that I should leave the call of the phase-listener in the faces-config and then I would also have access to the login-page, which is in the adfc-config?
Or does it mean, that I call now my phase-listener by adf-settings but don't have to change the phase-listener itself and can still use my code (FacesContext...)? But that's not working. I get no error but he is also not redirecting.
Maybe my problem starts on an earlier point.
Is it better to create all pages in the adfc-config or faces-config? (Maybe you have a good reference for reading about such a basic discussion)
I thought adfc-config would be the better one. But there I'm not able to redirect to another page (login) if somebody calls a special page without rights for example.
So my second basic question would be about the relation of adfc-config, faces-config and ADFContext and FacesContext.
Because I think it's not a short answer I hope you could give me also for this a reference so that I can read these basics myself.
Thanks a lot for helping a newbie becoming better :-)

How do I set a Phase Listener to only run for a specific page?
How do I set a Phase Listener to only run for a specific page?
I understand that a Phase Listener runs for ever page in the application, however I want a phase listener to only run for one page at the beginning of the application.
I discovered I can't use a Filter, because the JSF Application instance always returns null.
Thus, I thought a Phase Listener would be a good approach.
Thoughts?

Trouble with ZEN MXWHi,
I have some issues with my zen mx,? primarily sometimes when I listen to a playlist containing many tracks or "all tracks", my player sometimes shuts of and then have to scan the disk pefore working.
Secondly there are small pauses during playback, maybe every third track or more, I'm only talking about something like a thenth of a second but it's still very annoying. This also occurs when I have many tracks in my playlist.
Thirdly I'm not able to access the recovery mode, I've tried following the instructions from the sticky-thread in the forums (Turn on player and hold in the reset butto). However when I do, the screen goes black and no recovery mode appears ever if I hold down the button for a long time.
Anyone knows how th fix theses issues?
thanks,
/KvickKvick,
Please follow these steps to access the recovery mode. If this is not working for you, please feel free to contact Customer Support for further assistance. -
I am having trouble with the music from my bluetooth "skipping" on my IPhone 5. I thought that this was an antiquated problem with the new technology. It's very frustrating to purchase all of this music and expect great sound and playability and get "skipping". Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
Does the issue occur when listening to the media using the speaker or wired headphones? If it does, the issue is with the media itself.
If it does not, it's likely a bad connection or interference. -
Having trouble with sound quality
I have had this iPod Touch 2nd Generation for almost 2 years now, and I'm starting to have some troubles with it. The headphone sound quality is now starting to deteriorate. Unless the headphones are plugged in a specific way, either one bud goes out, or the sound quality goes down, as there is a lot of static and crackling, and I've had experiences with it actually shocking my ears while I'm listening.
I have tried a new pair of headphones, and this does nothing.
My iPod is obviously beyond the manufacturer's warranty, and it's up-to-date with the latest update. Is there anything I can do?Sounds like your headphone jack may need replacing.

We have during the last month started to get problems where the Vadis application
stops working. We can't figure out the cause of this.
Recent additions to the application is that we have started to use RMI for our
client communication - currently we are both using CORBA (OrbixWeb 3.1c) and RMI
- planning to get rid of CORBA. We have also some new features that increases
the amount of tasks to perform.
The system can hang both under heavy load and under off peak hours, when many
clients are connected or when nobody is using it!?! Strange...
This happens approximately once a week.
Today we managed to get a JRockit dump (with Ctrl-Break) - see attached file.
The main thread that should run all real tasks is Schemaläggare, but the stack
trace indicates a really weird place to stop. When looking at the code we can't
see how this could be either a deadlock or an infinite loop. Maybe you can make
some more out of the printout?
For example, we wonder what the timestamp row means. Almost all threads have a
timestamp of around 2200. But one thread has 1 and the other 346. What does this
mean?
We are using the following version of JRockit:
java version 1.3
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build "1.3.1_CROSIS_20011213-1316")
JRockit Virtual Machine (build 3.0.1-CROSIS-2001213-1317)
with nativeThreads activated.
Do you know of any troubles with using RMI for this version. Or the combination
of RMI and CORBA/OrbixWeb?
Best regards,
Tomas L
[ProblemReport_JRockit.txt]Really don't know the answer to that question. I haven't analyzed the
problem in detail. I know that a lot of issues has been fixed since
3.0.1, and if the problem is with the VM it is likely to have been fixed.

Alright,
However, before taking on the job of upgrading JRockit it would be nice to know
whether the problem is likely to be solved. Or put in other words: Do you think
the problem is in the JVM or in our application?
All the best,

Well, as you noted, NT4 isn't a supported platform for 7.0sp4, but we

You have two choices the way I see it: 1) Use 7.0sp4 on NT4 and
hopefully it solves your problem. 2) Upgrade to W2K (but I guess that
is
hard).

Hi,
I guessed you would answer something like that ;-) However, our serveris running
Windows NT4 (don't remember the service pack) and on your downloadsite it says
W2K for 7.0sp4. Will that work?

Hi Tomas,
JRockit 3.0.1 is pretty old at this time, so I would strongly suggest
that you upgrade to JRockit 7.0sp4 (if you need 1.3.1 compatibility),
or
JRockit 1.4.2 (if you are ok with 1.4.2 compatibility). Both version
are
available for download at

I am having trouble with the initial connection of the apple tv. I have isolated the problem to the cable/connection. My new hdmi cable has a resolution up to 1080p...does the resolution matter?is this the right hdmi cable for the apple tv?
There are only two types of HDMI cables (standard and high speed - listen to all 1.2, 1.3 etc etc nonsense they will try to tell in the store) both types will work with the Apple TV.
The cable may be faulty though, have you got another to try, what exactly is happening. -
Phase Listener in Subsystem deployed as BTF in Master - jdev 11.1.2.3
Hello:
We are using Subsystems with BTF's that are deployed as ADFLibs. These Subsystem ADFLibs are imported into a Master app and the BTF's are used as a region in the Master.
I tried to create Phase Listener that displays System.out.println msgs in the Subsystem that was then used as a region in the Master app.
But no messages from the Phase Listener appear on the console. What am I missing? Would the Phase Listeners have to be in the Master app?
What if I wanted the Phase Listener of just the subsystem? Is this possible?
Below is the code for adf-settings.xml and java class that implements PagePhaseListener:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<adf-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/config">
<adfc-controller-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/config">
<lifecycle>
<phase-listener>
<listener-id>myListener</listener-id>
<class>com.xxxx.labs.madison.ptnr.phase.listener.MyPagePhaseListener</class>
</phase-listener>
</lifecycle>
</adfc-controller-config>
</adf-config>
package com.xxxx.labs.madison.ptnr.phase.listener;
import javax.faces.application.FacesMessage;
import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
import oracle.adf.controller.v2.lifecycle.Lifecycle;
import oracle.adf.controller.v2.lifecycle.PagePhaseEvent;
import oracle.adf.controller.v2.lifecycle.PagePhaseListener;
public class MyPagePhaseListener implements PagePhaseListener {
public MyPagePhaseListener() {
super();
public void afterPhase(PagePhaseEvent pagePhaseEvent) {
System.out.println("inside afterPhase="+pagePhaseEvent.getPhaseId());
System.out.println("getDebugValue="+pagePhaseEvent.getDebugValue());
if (pagePhaseEvent.getPhaseId() == Lifecycle.PREPARE_RENDER_ID) {
System.out.println("Lifecycle.PREPARE_RENDER_ID="+pagePhaseEvent.getDebugValue());
FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
String viewId = fctx.getViewRoot().getViewId();
FacesMessage message = new FacesMessage("Hello Page no " + viewId);
fctx.addMessage(null, message);
public void beforePhase(PagePhaseEvent pagePhaseEvent) {
System.out.println("inside beforePhase="+pagePhaseEvent.getPhaseId());
System.out.println("getDebugValue="+pagePhaseEvent.getDebugValue());
}First, ensure the phase listener is working in the subsystem app.
Second, after the master app consumes the child app (as adflib), define the phase listener in the web.xml (within the masterapp).
face-config and taskflow config files are combined but i dont think its the same case for web.xml. -

Old EXP IMP doesnt have capability to append the row, since you're using 10g use datapump instead. use option TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=APPENDso my import should be like this
imp "'/ as sysdba'" file=Table1_1006.dmp fromuser=user1 touser=user1 tables=Table1 log=imp_Table1_1006.log TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=APPEND
Did you look up the command line syntax and control options for imp?
You should make it a habit that whenever anyone - especially a stranger on the web - gives you a bit of code or references a command or init parm or any some such, the VERY FIRST thin you should ALWAYS do is look it up for yourself and see exactly where and how it is used and what it means. That is how you grow beyond having to be spoon fed every little thing and become more self-sufficient.
If you had, you would have seen that there is no TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION option for imp and seen that it is an option for impdp. And realized that exp and imp are NOT the same thing as expdp and impdp.
=================================================
Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career. To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
Go to tahiti.oracle.com.
Drill down to your product and version.
<b><i><u>BOOKMARK THAT LOCATION</u></i></b>
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab you will find the complete documentation library.
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of information is available there.
Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
Do the same with the Utilities manual.
You don't have to read the above in depth. They are <b><i><u>reference</b></i></u> manuals. Just get familiar with <b><i><u>what</b></i></u> is there to <b><i><u>be</b></i></u> referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
- Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
- Take a look in your alert log. One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them (listed in your alert log) in the Reference Manual.
- Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
- When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again.
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.

I'm having trouble with lights in AE CS5 on a PC.The project uses the 3D lights and layers to create a shadow all of which must be parented to a moving 3D layer. It is a bit tough to explain so I have attached a link to a file that causes the erro below. If I render the file linked below, the shadow "pops" out of place. If I ram preview, it works as expected.
http://blurrypixel.com/download/error.aep
Anyone know why this is happening?> I've tracked it down to when Motion Blur gets activated and there is animation on the Light layer. Cast shadows become offset.
Try modifying the Shutter Phase in the motion blur settings. -
Trouble with 10g after Installing Grid Control
Main problem: after installing Grid Control and rebooting, I can no longer access my databases.
I have 10g installed on a fairly decent Windows XP machine. It was running okay, but I had two Oracle database instance processes running at 200mb of RAM each (of a total of 1 GB of RAM), so it was a bit bogged down, as is to be expected when running Oracle as a server on Windows.
I then installed Grid Control, which seemed to go okay, and another database as well. But once the install completed, and I gained access to the Grid Control version of the OEM for the first time, that's when things got wacky. Connecting to any OEM instance started taking anywhere from 2-10 minutes, everything was bogged down considerably, etc. I tried shutting everything down and rebooting, but now things are worse. OEM is timing out and not finding servers, listener is timing out, etc. I've tried manipulating a few things in Net Manager (I noticed that my LISTENER section didn't seem to contain any data at all, and my databases weren't listed in there either) with no result.
I've also had trouble with "host credentials" and being able to administer the databases within the OEM, even after implementing a fix I had found to add my user name to a "log on as batch job" local security policy.
Finally, I noticed that after installing Grid Control, when I run "sqlplus", I now see "Oracle91 Enterprise Edition" instead of the "Oracle10g" it used to show (and I never had anything but 10g installed on this machine!).
Here's what happens when I try to access my dBs:
-When I try to launch the OEM connected to any of the 3 databases I created (which were previsouly running), the browser just times out with "page cannot be displayed".
-When I run "emctl start <ANYTHING>" I get file/path not found errors, and a file path with both forward and backward slashes (starting after the "agent" directory):
C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\agent/<...etc.>
-When I try to test a connection to a service in Net Manager, I get this error:
ORA-12557: TNS:protocol adapter not loadable
I had to manually add my listener info and databases info(under Service Naming) in Net Manager, but everything appeared fine in Oracle Directory Manager (unfortunately, that doesn't help much, since this is just a general info tool).
I am nothing near a DBA and my knowledge is limited, so I apologize for not being more consise, but I'd be glad to elaborate if someone could tell me what they need to know.
Thank you,
JohnYes; thank you both. Although I had 1 GB physical and 1.5 GB virtual memory configured, running Grid Control seemed to completely kill all available resources.
I have removed GC and its related database and applications, and I can again conncet to my databases via Database Control. Thank you.
By the way, another issue has arisen, seemingly in the aftermath of installing GC: my OEM Database Control instances now time out after about 60 seconds, logging me out each and every time. I have cookies enabled, but this doesn't seem to be the trouble. Is there a Web setting somewhere that will kick users out of the instance at timed intervals? -
Trouble with Bluetooth Devices
I have a MacBook Pro 13" from late-2011. Recently I have decided to use Bluetooth headsets instead of wired earbuds because I tend to forget they are in my ears and when I get up, they are yanked out of my ears, hurting me and potentially pulling my notebook off of something. I had an LG Tone before getting my current Motorola S11-FLEX HD headset. I switched because of the problems I have been having with Bluetooth but switching has not solved the issue.
My biggest problem with my Bluetooth headsets is that the audio stutters and then de-syncs with any video. The de-sync can be as bad as a full second. I'll see the video's actions before I hear them. The de-sync also affects the responsiveness of controls. After I give a command, the audio will continue to play for however long the de-sync is before the command is performed. It's like it's making up for the lost time. The only solution I have come across is turning off the device, then turning it back on but that only works some of the time. Usually, I have to turn it off and then on again two or three times before the de-syncing issue disappears. I have no idea the cause as my LG Tone works to specifications with devices that belong to other people. I have found that moving my head in a certain direction will cause the de-sync. Sometimes, it's leaning back; other times, it's tilting my head. It's as if the Bluetooth field is planar and I'm jumping out of the plane.
Another issue is the distance I can be from my device. My Bluetooth headsets boasts being able to function perfectly as far as 30 feet for one headset but moving even 5 feet will cause the previously mentioned de-syncing if the audio is playing. If I pause the audio, I can move about 10 feet. After I move 10 feet, when I press play, the de-sync appears. It renders the function of being wireless to being useless. I wanted to Bluetooth so I didn't have to pause, take off my device, do what I need to do, and before coming back, putting on the device, and resuming play, hoping that nothing has gone wrong to cause a de-syncing issue.
A third issue I have is that sometimes, while listening to some audio of some kind, another program will make a noise causing the audio to cut out. My notebook or the web browser is not aware that audio is no longer playing. It's as if the new program has muted the original audio. The only cure: turning off the device and turning it on again and hoping it's working.
The last issue I can think of is that when I turn my notebook off for any reason, all Bluetooth devices are forgotten causing me to go through the hassle of repairing the devices again but many times, the repairing process fails and despite being on and not paired to anything else, my notebook is unable to pair unless I turn both the device off and my notebook's Bluetooth off before turning both back on.
Has anyone run into issues like this? If so, does anyone have any recommendations on how to correct the problem? The problem is on my notebook side as the devices work fine with other products. The LG Tone could be used across the house when it was attached to my father's Kindle Fire and when attached to my iPhone 5, I could walk 20 feet with doors and concrete between me and the device before any issues began (both devices had trouble with my iPhone but pausing usually fixes the issue so I don't care). Please, I need some advice and help.Some details missing.
I have a Pioneer DEH-P7000BT. On telephone settings, everything OK.
When I want to sync to my Audio Bluetooth, I hear the sound in slow motion :-)
I have to delete the Bluetooth device on the radio, and re-syncing on Audio Devices and everything fine.
Same thing all the time.

What are the steps to define a phase listener in JSF 1.1?
Hello everyone...
Implementing a page listener in JSF 1.2 (the one that comes with JDeveloper 11g) is very straight forward, you implement the methods getPhaseID, beforePhase,afterPhase, and then add the class into the JSF configuration file. It works like charm.
However, doing the same thing with JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 (it comes with JSF 1.1) never works... so I was wondering... Am I missing something? What are the correct steps to do it?
thanks in advance.Dear Mr. John...
thanks for your kind reply... however, I already was able to implement the Phase Listener successfully in JDeveloper 11g with JSF 1.2 specs. And it works just fine...
what am I asking is that I am doing exactly the same steps under JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 under JSF 1.1 specs, but it does not work at all... so what is the problem? any idea?
best regards
