Trying to get spry menu to show visited links with different color

I know there is Javascript involved I was just wondering if Anyone has sent it up yet. as a downloadable@ file

Visited links need not be JavaScript driven.  They are primarily CSS driven.
  /* unvisited link */
a:link {
    color: #FF0000;
/* visited link */
a:visited {
    color: #00FF00;
/* mouse over link */
a:hover {
    color: #FF00FF;
/* selected link */
a:active,
a:focus {
     color: #0000FF;
FYI:  Spry is dead.  Adobe abandoned it in late 2012.

  • Trying to add cutaway; menu not showing up even with advanced tools

    I have advanced tools enabled; however when I try to drag a clip on top of the other, it just gets moved in front of it. There is no kind of menu popping up along with it. It's really bothersome. Help! Thanks.

    I think I am correct in saying this;
    The clip that is dragged has to come from the Event not the Project.
    Drag the clip from the event so that it covers the clip in the project and let the mouse go. The pop up menue should appear on letting it go.The use of the word " over" or "on top of " could be misinterpreted.

  • Trying to make spry menu bar work on iphone

    I would prefer my horizontal spry menu bar to be centered at the top of the page, but to do this I have to make it a fixed width.
    This width is too wide for an iphone so the outermost buttons are not accessable.
    I have managed a workaround by making the width auto and aligning left.
    This makes each menu item cascade under the next so they are all accessable, but it's not brilliant.
    You can see this by resizing the browser on the about jill page.
    I tried the spry menu bar 2 widget, but couldn't customise the colours to make it look like my existing menu.
    What is the best way get this menu working normally on an iphone/android etc?
    Cheers
    Ps. if anyone answers with code suggestions, could you tell me exactly where that code goes and in what file.

    Earlier iDevices & Droids are going to have trouble with a position:fixed menu.  Just thought you should know.

  • Why won't Firefox show visited links in a different color, even though I've specified so in my Color Settings?

    When I'm on a page with multiple links (ie. Google Search, Craig's List, etc), and I click on a link, then return to the search page, Firefox doesn't show the visited links in purple. As a result I can't see which links I've visited, which makes browsing very difficult on some sites. I've updated my Color Settings to show visited links in purple, but it's not applying. What might be causing this?

    I think I figured it out. My privacy settings were set as "Custom," so I chose "Remember History." Now the link colors seem to be working.
    Thank you!

    I just purchased an iPad trying to get audio book downloaded. I downloaded 2 different apps and 2 books that said they were audio but nothing works. So frustrations. Can anyone help me? Leaving on a trip Friday would really like to have it  :)

    You can purchase Audio books in the iTunes Store App and they will be downloaded for playing in the Music App.
    What two Apps are you talking about?

  • Visited links stopped changing color suddenly

    visited links stopped changing color suddenly

    Well, I'm a mixed bag. After wasting time and missing the point earlier, thinking that this was about the Google app, today I finally suss to the fact that the discussion's a tually about in fhe browser ...
    Anyway, I take a look and, sure enough, the first one I try does pop into a violet color when returning to the results page. I thought it distinct enough to easily notice, and couldn't remember seeing it before (use the app most of the time).
    Unfortunately, that was rthe one and only time I saw that happen over the next ten minutes of running searches on multiple topics. All subsequent cycles showed the exacrt same shade of blue on return, and this includes tests run in the middle of and following such steps as clearing the app (cache, cookies history), force quitting the app, and restarting the iPad.
    Nothing made any difference. That first time was the one and only time, so far, that I saw the color change.
    Also tried a Reset. No change. I guess if it's really supposed to work then a Restore might do it but .... I think not.

  • How to keep visited links from changing color?

    FIRST, I want to say that it took me 10 minutes to find (accidentally) how to start a new thread.  In my profile?  Could it be any more obscure?
    </rant>
    Yeah, I go to change page properties and make links and visited links the same color.  It still changes, and this happens to be on a page where the background color provides poor contrast to the color the links are changing to.  Is there a way to do this that is not overridden by the web gods?  Or whatever?
    Thanks

    Yeah, I'm a dinosaur.
    Learned HTML from Elizabeth Castro's first edition; then went to DW MX,
    where I am stuck.  Works for me, obviously with imperfections, as I am
    hardly cutting edge multimedial gripping Web designer.
    Thanks for observations.
    I'll ask for help again: I really, truly, cannot find how to start a
    thread on the forum, nor reply to one, and all that.  I don't see any FAQ
    tht elementary, nor anyone to e-mail for guidance.  If you can offer a
    little of that, I will be grateful.
    Thanks,
    Denno
    It's a very dated website using extremely outdated code.

    There's a whole mix of HTML formatting and font tags in there which were
    deprecated 10+ years ago.

    This all means that the website will behave in strange ways sometimes.

    Although it can be fixed, it would take hours to debug, explain and
    implement the changes required, particularly if you've never used CSS
    styling before.

    You're better off investing some cash in a modern, well coded, CSS
    formatted template which will give you a sound foundation.
    e.g. http://www.projectseven.com/products/templates/index.htm

    Then you can add your content and get good results quickly.

  • How to show the contents of a dropdown list with different colors

    Hi,
    I have a drop downlist on my dialog. I want to show each of its text attribute and its back ground with different color.
    Suppose I am showing 4 strings in the dropdown like Name1, Name2, Name3 and Name4, then how to change the color of each name and its background.
    Please let me know if it is possible.

    If the above asked is not possibe can we have an alternative as mentioned below :-
    A dropdown similar to the one shown in "Edit->Preferences->Grids->Colors" having our own text names instead of the default color names.
    So that I can show some color symbol and a text name along with it in my dropdown.
    One more query, is it possible to show the images/giff/png files in dropdown ?

    Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
    If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

  • Spry Menu Bar Show Highlighting currently selected

    Is there a way to get a vertical Spry menu to leave the
    lights on while we're on a given page? I'd like to affect the menu
    behavior to cue it to leave the highlighting turned on for the
    currently selected page. I'm hoping there's a short script I could
    add to individual pages to tell the menu where we are. If my menu
    has 6 vertical list items, and the page I an displaying was loaded
    by clicking on the third item in the list, then I'd like item three
    in the menu to remail highlighted. This would cue the user to know
    where they are in the menu for any given page. Looking at the
    script near "show menu highlighting and MenuBarItemHover"

    hey,
    i think the reason the spry menu isn't working is because it
    needs to expand past the frame, which isn't possible. if you want
    you can use
    this
    it's compact and it doesn't need to exapand past the frame.
    hope this helped

  • How do I get spry menu tab  highlighted when on page ???

    Hey guys I'm stuck
    I'm  trying to get  the tab in the spry menubar to be highlighted  when each relevant page  .. but something isn't right it's not working what am I missing here ???
    now when I hover the btn disappears  and when on the  page the tab isn't highlighted ? Please help ! many thanks in advance for taking the time to look
    I have placed  this code at the  bottom of   sprymenuhorizontal.css to over ride above styles !
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a span {
        visibility: hidden;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal  {
        background: url(images/btn.png) no-repeat;
        height: 35px;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal :hover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal :focus,
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal .MenuBarItemHover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal .MenuBarItemSubmenuHover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal .MenuBarSubmenuVisible {
        background: url(images/btnhover.png) no-repeat;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.activeMenuItem  {
        background: url(images/btnonpage.png) no-repeat !important;
    then I put in this code  at the top of the page   to link to sprydomutils which is in my spryassest folder!
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryDOMUtils.js"></script>
    <script>
    function InitPage(){
    Spry.$$('#MenuBar1 li').forEach(function(node){
        var a=node.getElementsByTagName("a")[0]; // finds all a elements inside the li, but we only want the first so [0]
        if(a.href == window.location){
            Spry.Utils.addClassName(node,"activeMenuItem");
    Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
    </script>
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryDOMUtils.js"></script>
    <script>
    function InitPage(){
    Spry.$$('#MenuBar1 li').forEach(function(node){
        var a=node.getElementsByTagName("a")[0]; // finds all a elements inside the li, but we only want the first so [0]
        if(a.href == window.location){
            Spry.Utils.addClassName(node,"activeMenuItem");
    Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
    </script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet">
    <style>
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a span {
        visibility: hidden;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal  {
        background: url(images/btn.png) no-repeat;
        height: 35px;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal :hover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal :focus,
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal .MenuBarItemHover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal .MenuBarItemSubmenuHover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal .MenuBarSubmenuVisible {
        background: url(images/btnhover.png) no-repeat;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.activeMenuItem  {
        background: url(images/btnonpage.png) no-repeat !important;
    </style>

    The reason I asked if you used templates or not is that in this case we would have a centralised script to detect the active menu item.
    If you have a menu on each page (without the template) then it is easy to mark the menu item as being the current one by simply adding a class as follows
    <li class="activeMenuItem"><a href="index.php">Home</a></li>
    Now we merely add a few rules to style the active menu item as in
    .activeMenuItem a {
        background: #a59a84 url(nav_background.png) !important;
        color: #ffffff !important;
    The !important is necessary otherwise the JS will override these values.
    Add the style rules to the bottom of SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css and add the class to each relevant menu item in each document.
    Which brings me to the fact that you have used a horizontal menu bar for vertical positioning. Why? I must admit, the effect is not bad and that is more important.

  • Spry menu bar showing up as bullet points insted of the menu bar when previewed

    Hi
    this is my first post so i am sorry if i miss out any information
    i am creating a pretty simple website for my family company and i've tried to incorporate a menu bar so users can navigate between pages it once worked when previwed in firefox and chrome but not internet explorer. i then went on to recreate the menu bar only to find now it only shows in the bullet points and not how it should. can some one help becuse its really getting me annoyed. the website is not live at the moment however i could upload it if this would help.
    Thanks

    Hi & thanks -
    No time for the IE problem now, but on the "bulletpoints" page, these supporting files are either incorrectly linked in your page, or not uploaded to expected folder.
    <script src="file://///Nas-box/work/Business/website/ijjservices 2012/Scripts/swfobject_modified.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="file://///Nas-box/work/Business/website/ijjservices 2012/Templates/bar/ajxmenu.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    (linked to your local computer)
    <script src="/SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    (not uploaded)
    They are correctly linked on the IE page except for the ajax file which is linked to your local conputer.
    No links should start with file://///

  • Spry Menu not showing in earlier version of IE

    I am new to web design and recently put in a spry menu for a
