Trying to update to new iTunes but get error "application attempted to load the C runtime library incorrectly." Second error message: "error 7(Windows error 1114).  Now, I can't use iTunes.  Any solutions?

I was trying to upgrade my PC w/ Windows Vista to the new iTunes version; however, got error message: "application attempted to load the c runtime library incorrectly." R6034.  Second attempt resulted in iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114).  New iTunes version did not install correctly and now I cannot use iTunes.  Any suggestions.
