When I download movies, I get a small, black rectangle in the bottom center of the screen. This is irritating! How do I get rid of it?
Search the forum. This has been reported a few times. I do not recall what the fix is, but it has already been posted.

When I download certain files(most often exe files), I'm not able to open the source folder anymore when the download is complete. Neither can I execute the exe file. It often forces me to redownload the file in google chrome and then I go to the source folder and right click properties and I have to unblock the file. Only then I'm able to start the exe file.
FYI: I use vista, so that might be the problem by itself...It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

When I go into the crop tool (or any other tool) there is usually a DONE box that shows up on the bottom to exit the tool. Recently it disappeared. Now to close the crop I have to use the short cut key or click the tiny little "close" on the side. Is there a way to get the done button back? I updated with the latest software update and also reset all custom setting just incase I changed something accidentally. Any help would be appreciated.

Where did the little "flashing pumpkin" on the bottom toolbar come from and how can I get rid of it?
On the bottom toolbar, right hand side, next to my incredimail icon, recently appeared a little "flashing pumpkin". I have not clicked on it because I don't know where it came from or why it is there and do not want to risk getting a virus. When you hover over it with the mouse, it says "Happy Halloween" in the dialog box that appears above it. If you right click on it, the only options are "Open Message" or "Leave it"?

You can also do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />

Try swiping across the progress bar if there is one - and see if a red delete button pops up - or tap and hold down on the Movie icon until the X pops up to delete the download.

Reduce the resolution.
The picture will display as thumbnail on the phone when a call comes in.
Since Mountain Lion I had full screen caller pictures even when assigned in the OS X adress book.
In my case I reduced the picture to 64 x 64 pixels.
Then it showed as thumbnail as calls came in.
I don't know where the exact maximum pixel size for thumbnail display is.
If you find out, tell us.
This bugged me a long time and I would enjoy if this could help you.

Don't think I need two FireFox icons, especially the one that says FireFox (2)
I am guessing that this is just something pinned to the Windows launcher, and so someone more familiar with Windows may do better at answering it.

Applications folder. Take the Utilities folder and drag (don't drug it) back into the dock.

I downloaded movies onto my iPad to watch when I was abroad, I synchronised with my laptop and now they are not on my iPad how can I get them back?
If the shows are in fact still on the pad, they will be found in the videos app, not the music or I tunes app. Look there and see if they are still there.
If you don't see them there, go to the searchlight screen ( farthest left home page) and type in the name of one of the shows. If it is on the pad, hiding somewhere, this will find it.
If they are not there, they should not be using up space.
To get them back onto your pad, plug in and sync again. Make sure you transfer purchases first. Before you sync, take a look at the video tab in your I tunes, and check what you want and don't want synced. -

I have downloaded other movies in the pat and they typically take a 8 hours or more on my high speed cable connection. Try unplugging the Apple TV for a few moments and trying again.
Sometimes if the download speed is too slow the Apple TV won't download, try checking your internet speed using speedtest.net -
Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.
When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint. -

You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
