I reinstalled Lion. LOVELY
I have iChat, I tried to trash iChat on applications but it wont allow me to do so.
I had Messages Beta and now that I reinstalled Lion I lost Messages.
Been going crazy Help!
I want to install Messages onto my Mac.

I'm trying to find my messages on my iCloud account & don't see them there. However when you look at apple support for iCloud it says that it is one of the items that is backed up?

It depends on when you enabled photo stream on your device and on your Mac. When you enable photo stream on your device, only photos added to the camera roll after enabling photo stream are uploaded, not existing photos. And photo stream photos are only kept in iCloud for 30 days (even though they remain on your devices until deleted). Because of this, when you enable photo stream on your Mac, you only receive photo stream photos from the last 30 days, as old photos are no longer in iCloud.
If your goal is to reduce your iCloud storage, deleting photo stream photos won't help because they don't use your iCloud storage. Only camera roll photos use your iCloud storage because they are included in your iCloud backup.
If you want to get all your photos in iPhoto, save your photo stream photos to your camera roll (if not already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. Then import them to iPhoto as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. When you do, you will have the option to delete them from your camera roll, thereby saving space in your iCloud account by reducing the size of your next backup.

I never expected Mozilla to neglect the users of Apple's PowerPC (PPC) computers, while still supporting much older operating environments such as Windows XP. Purchase Mac OS X 10.8 from the Mac App Store. If it reports that 10.8 is incompatible with the system, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu. If the computer has a Core 2 Duo or better processor, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Mac OS X 10.7. If not or you don't want to upgrade, check sites such as Amazon or eBay for the DVD.

Where can I find what the error messages of Time Machine means?

Checking my System Log Queries I found the following:

Where were you downloading the to, iPhoto, a folder on the Desktop, where? Are they still on the camera's memory card? If you deleted them from the card and haven't used the card since they can be recovered with recovery software like MediaRECOVER. You can download the demo version to verify they can be recovered before purchasing it. Other similar apps can be found at MacUpdate.com by searching for "photo recovery" or similar terms.

I'm looking to save all of my current conversations from the Messages app. Where can I find the actual file logs in Yosemite? ~/Library/Messages only contains a plugins file.

This one is
On your Mac there are three Libraries that you can easily access.
There is the one your describe Hard drive/Library
The one in Hard Drive/System/Library.
And the one in Hard Drive/Users/Your Shortname(home folder)/Library also known as ~/Library for short.
My Hard Drive is called Macintosh Int HD (for Internal as I have an Cloned External that ended up with the same name)
To access the Home folder one you need to hold down the ALT key whilst using the Go Menu in any Finder window.

...or you can specify your own logger such as log4j or jul using tangosol.coherence.log.logger

The restore from backup process is all or nothing, & if you've been told NOT to restore from backup, there is no supported way to "selectively" restore an iPhone backup. You can use third-party software to "extract" data from your backup:

Google stopped supporting Exchange for free accounts as of 1/31/13. If you already had it set up that way on the device, it will continue to work. However, if you didn't, you'll need to set it up as a regular Gmail account.

Why is there no warning that firefox 4 doesn't run on a powermac? where can I find firefox 3.6 to reinstall?

So I responded to a prompt (while running Firefox 3.6 on my powermac) to download and install Firefox 4. Great! Well, the install and over-write of 3.6 ran smoothly, but trying to open Firefox 4 there was a message saying the hardware didn't support it. OK fine. But now I have no firefox. Where can I find 3.6.16 to install?
The Firefox 4 beta from a few months ago DID run, so this is curious.

This oversight is inexcusable!! I am also running 10.4.11 on a PowerPC Mac, and I received a notification advising me to update to Firefox 4.0. I checked first, and not only was there no warning that it was compatible only with Intel computers running 10.5 or higher, but it showed that it required 10.4 or higher! Mysteriously, this is gone now.
I lost everything, and now have nothing to lose by going back to Safari. You (Mozilla) axxholes have cost me a lot of time!!!

its better choice to delete it and starting from a scratch install all other linux if you want linux...

Linux Mint, Ubuntu 9.04 ... Archlinux..
.and many more..
my favs are Ubuntu and Mint...
all function out of the box....

Had the same problem and spoke with Apple Support. They had me reset the System Management Controller:
Shut down the computer. With the computer off, on the left hand side of the keyboard press shift+control+option along with the power button simultaneously and release. Wait 5-10 seconds and restart the computer.
This solved my problem and I was immediately able to purchase, download, and play an HD movie from iTunes w/o any error message.
